Babe, your mention of fibroid got my attention. I have one too growing close to the cervix such that Doctor fears it might obstruct vaginal delivery. ..are you having abdominal pains ? I have it frequently ooo.....suspecting it to be the cause of the pains.
Babies sexes are best seen by 20weeks ....so check again by then

My pregnancy was 39 weeks yesterday and I was supposed to go for ANC and then proceed to work, I was at work the day before because I had planned that I will work till I give birth so that I can have a enough time for my baby. Around 6a.m., I started feeling contractions. I just decided to watch it and complain to the doc later, only to discover it was like 10 minutes apart. I told my husband and he had to prepare my baby for creche and took her there and also bought the other baby things I've not bought. I was at home timing the contractions and by the time he came back, it was getting to 7 or 5 minutes apart so I took my bath and we went to the hospital.

On getting there, I was placed in a room, checked and told I was 5cm dilated. The pains kept coming at intervals, at times it will be regular while at other times it won't be. After about one hour, a nurse came to tell me she has to do enema for me. I asked what that is and she said they will pass an hose into my anus and flush it with warm water so that all the 'yamayama' will come out. OK o. She did that and I stooled enough watery stool.

Around 2:30pm or there about, my water broke. My husband was with me then, the contractions were stronger and closer that each time it came I screamed with all my strength. He called the nurse and she took me to the Labour room. That was where the real drama started.

She checked and said it was close, the doctor was called, he checked and said the same thing. All the while, I was in blinding pain, I could not even see anything, I was just hearing what they were saying. The doctor left and had to come back after few minutes when my noise kept increasing. Another nurse came and said she wanted to check how dilated I was, she checked. The first nurse said she wanted to check and tried. I just got angry, what with all the overchecking. I closed my legs sharply and told them that the checking is giving me unbearable back pains. They started complaining that I wasn't cooperating. Na them sabi ke.


All the while my husband was rubbing my back, I was holding him and screaming. He later told me I almost bit him, haba, I be dog? Suddenly, I just felt the urge to push so I shouted I want to push oooo, the doctor said wait don't push. I shouted again, I can't control it o. The next thing, I felt the head come out, then the shoulders and that was it. They were even running upandan because they didn't expect it, not even me. I didn't even push, the baby just came out herself. After about 5 minutes, the doc asked me to cough and the placenta came out. God knew I had spent all my energy shouting and made it very easy for me. I had a little tear which was sown in about 5 minutes. We got to the hospital around 11:30am and put to bed at 3:04pm, she weighed 3kg. I told God to make it fast and easy for me, He did it. He's a faithful God.

I bless God for seeing me through this pregnancy, I never planned for it. My first is just 14 months old and I almost gave up when I discovered I was pregnant again, I was angry with myself, my husband and everything. People used style to mock me, like 'no be yesterday she born one'? Some even said it to my face. I was even ashamed of my self. But after sometime, I accepted it and moved on, it was tough but God saw me through. Having a toddler and being pregnant without help was so not easy at all. I didn't even have a LMP because my period didn't resume as at when I took in again, my EDD was based on the first scan I did. I was hoping to give birth in January sef. To the glory of God, it all ended in praise.

I love your birth story abeg. Progressive and straight to the point labour. Congratulations. ...yyou are now a proud mother of two under 2years.

He's packing my things for the hospital this morning. I'm going for a scan first then bed rest at the hospital till it stops.
Shame won't even let me confess what i did the day before the contraction started, but i just have to. I first of all did some laundry standing all through, then i walked for 20mins to buy plantain cus i didn't want to drive. On getting back, i went straight to the kitchen to make noddles and dodo with egg for breakfast. Before i finished making the meal i was already folding in pains. That's when i told dh and he said it's exercise.

Babes sorry for your stress but please learn to sit when ever possible and do your chores oo. Even before I got preggies, I sit to wash oo even if I am washing 3pairs of clothes. Once, we went to hubby's village and I MIL and village people saw me sitting to wash clothes, they said their son married a town girl wey no sabi bend down do things. ...I just burst into one serious laughter and continued my thing....They were so o confused cos they expected me to try offering some explanation or get up to impress them, I no send! How much more now ....with this baby I needed so much? Abeg ooo....I can't deal. Learn to do some tricks now ooo

First trimester is finally over .MS is gone, except tiredness when I stress myself and saliva.. I think I'm getting to that point where you don't feel any preggy symptom but for my bump which is really showing now. A big shout out to all August mamas, hope MS has packed its load. #team August

Teamie oooo.....I dey here ooo. How many weeks gone are you now? Me sleeplessness too is gradually reducing oo but I still don't enjoy most foods. Tiredness is still my middle name, I haven't washed any cloth in the past 3-4weeks oo . I beginning to run out of what to wear oooo. Have you started antenatal?

@ambient, was thinking of doing small window shopping @ that babyshop this weekend o, didn't knw there are so expensive. My dear ariaria is always on point o, u just have to study yourself to know if u can handle the stress. I intend going there next week to get few things.

Before I even got pregnant, I DO all my shopping in Ariaria ooo including kitchen utensils as there assorted things there tho still not lik Balogun market. ..Am sincerely praying I will be ready to handle the stress of travelling when am ready. I plan going there either in April or May latest. Please which line or section can I find babies items and at the cheapest prices?

Sabi mamas! MS is killing me oo, I have been on folic acid, Vit b-complex and omega 3 but the morning sickness refused to reduce. I feel cold from morning till evening. A friend suggest I start pregnacare, I'm 9weeks and a FTM. CC @all pls don't ignore

Ndooooo.. . But I think endurance should be one of your names at least for now . I don't think pregnacare is a drug that cures morning sickness oo, infact to some people it worsens their nauseating. Just keep taking those your drugs and like the always told me, you will get better with time..lol...Though some of my symptoms are easying up a little but tiredness no just wan go. Welcome to preggies world.

Mild contractions started on Wednesday, and you know my mucous plug started falling out at 35weeks (without blood though). Didn't even want labour to start at all, cos I was just 37+2. Dont want premature. So on Thursday, felt relieved except occasional cramps, till Friday wen I couldn't sleep throughout. By 5am, picked my already packed bag and straight to the Hosp. Immediately I got down at the entrance like this, my water gushed, thank God I had a pad on, it'll have been an adult peeing on her body. The fluid hot fa!

So the doctor came to check me, I was already standing on the bed (yes standing and jumping sef . So she begged me to sit lie down so she could check, alas!! I was 9cm!!!: if them know dey for no tell me, na so shout com dey intence, I WANT TO POOOOOOO!!! Why are you ppl like this!!!! Yeehhh?!! But I didn't shout too much O. So they all came and with about 4-6pushes, she made her grand Entry with no much shouting....you see effizy so!??

After about 30 min, I noticed I was bleeding a lot, the nurse said she'll put catether to empty my bladder, làter retains it. Still, blood was gushing out like tap. Anytime she presses me, big clot will come out. Ha, so I said am not comfortable cos they already want to transfer me to the wrd.. So a doctor came and inserted her hand into my uterus, guess what,?? I have LOBES OF PLACENTA DETACHED IN THERE, SO CERVIX WAS OPENED AND FLOODING WITH BLOOD. FELT REALLY DIZZY AND WAS ALMOST PASSING OUT. Clots and clots and clots was evacuated. So withing another 15min, I ran into rigor...cold started from my feet to my brain and I couldn't remember anything again. Was just looking at my lo an speaking I'm tongues. Heart rate, pulse, respiration, Temp all was extreme. But to the glory of God after about 3-4hrs, God took charge, I was free but lost lots of blood. In all sha, my ppl, na GODWIN O!

Congratulations to you. ...I would say your labour was very ok. Thank God it ended in praise.

Happy Sunday to everybody here.My name is Ade.I am new here.My wife is four months pregnant.We already had 2 scans.the first one on November and last one in december.please,I just like to know what and what she should be doing and those things she must not do.she is still an undergraduate though and she have started ante-natal already.Can she continue taking her milo tea for now because her nurses asked her to stop it and start taking lipton tea but I read lipton tea will make the baby ugly and tiny.So,I have asked her to stop the lipton tea and continue with the milo tea but in moderation as advised in nairaland family sectio(before I was directed here).I can see her seniors here and I know you are all capable of giving out effective advise.This is her first pregnancy.thanks.

Well I don't think there is anything in Milo that is dangerous to an unborn baby except Milo contains caffeine, then it's good she stops taking it but I really doubt if it does. I guess why some women are advised to stop taking Milo or reduce its consumption is to avoid high blood sugar in pregnancy or having over big babies as they are always so difficult to push during delivery. Please when in doubts if a particular food or drink is safe in pregnacy, just google it. Good enough she has started antenatal so she will be given some routine drugs like folic acid, calcium and some blood tabs which she must take everyday. She just has avoid undue stress but it will be difficult for her being that she is still a student ....then you have to be extra supportive oo. Help her with house chores abeg. Don't insist that she must wash, cook, clean like before except she is the type that pregnancy doesn't disturb but remember she has books to read else her performance will suffer.. Support, support and encouragement! Like myself, my husband's support is really helpful now oo. Don't know how I would have done without it. Since I have problems eating the food I cook since I got pregnant, he either offers to cook the food himself when he can or he simply takes me out to eat while he eats the one I cook. She may not have that kind of problem so ask her where you can help her.

the funny thing is that the first test said it's one nodule of fibroids while the second scan said 2.

What ever the true situation is, it's a matter of time and you guys will soon find out. Some women have fibroids coexisting with a pregnancy like it is the case with me. Being her first pregnancy, I know how anxious you guys are to wait but there is nothing else you guys can do than to wait for some weeks. Hope you guys are using a good hospital with a good gynaecologist too. It is well with your family.

My wife tested positive for pregnancy via blood and urine analysis both done twice. Went for a scan to ascertain how old and we were told its fibroids! I'm very confused. Furthermore we've seen spotting twice. Please what's your advice?

Fibroids alone can't make her test positive to urine and blood test. It is possible she has fibroids coexisting in the uterus with the pregnancy. Wait for some weeks say 4weeks or so and repeat the scan. Meanwhile, let her be taking care of herself like a pregnant woman till you guys confirm it to be on the safe side. All the best...

As for the chair style, we usually do it in the living room (we stay alone so no disturbance). I sit on the couch then he kneel in front of me and there we rock it. Atimes he sit and I sit one him and you know what next. The style is sweet sha and stress less.

For pregnant mamas, I don't advise sitting on him, you sit and he kneel in front of you to thrust it.

Also if your couch is high above the ground, he can support his knees with a pillow.

Inasmuch as you want to satisfy your dh, you have to tell him to take it easy o. One mama who unfortunately lost her baby in October still regrets while she didn't stop dh from doing it daily. She bled daily for one week and at the end lost the baby. Dr told intially to stay away from sex at the early stage. Till now she's still trying to concieve and still dey beef her dh.
Just tell am the risks and beg him to take am easy. Harmattan will soon be over
Let me tell you what i do to dh sometimes this harmattan period. When i don't want him to, immediately i notice him awake at night, i just start forming belle pain. And he'll pet me till he falls asleep.

The kind of cramps I had through out today won't let me allow him touch me till Tuesday my clinic day. ...was walking like some one who was badly raped. I go dey try am small small....

Waddling mama's I dey hail ooo. I hope all our LOs both the born and unborn are doing well. I Don dey fear small small for my own oo. These few days, this harmattan don make DH turn me into a kpekpusing machine o to drive away cold...somedays upto 2times a day. .am trying to tell him that it's not safe for the baby, the guy no just wan hear . How I wan do this kind thing na? I just dey wait make next Tuesday come abeg make I go check say my baby dey fine. Please, when you don't want kpekpusing, which technique una dey use run away? If na before pregnancy, I go form quarell and vex but these few weeks, the guy just dey try make me happy all the time so I can't begin forming vex on top nothing.....Abeg make una help me oo
