Hi mothers and preggers (if there's such a word) I'm new here. Did a home PT and it showed 2 strips. Went to d hospital for confirmation and d doc refused to, saying there's no need as the 2 strips already shows pregnancy. Also, been having a kind of pain in my lower abdomen, not too severe, but a bit uncomfortable. My mum says its not to worry about as she had it for all her pregs while my doc says I shud return in 2 weeks time for a scan.

Been so scared since as this is my first preg and I don't want any complications.

Walk into any lab and request for blood pregnancy test. It's 500naira in my town. That way you convince yourself and put your mind to rest too. If you are pregnant, you will have those pains in the lower abdomen . I had mine and it gradually faded as the pregnancy approached the end of 1st trimester. Best wishes

Abeg mamas make una touch lite for this my matter. Since I was born, I have never experienced nose bleed. But recently, I have been bleeding seriously thru one of my nose, this is the 3rd time it is happening, and it last for about 10-15mins. Is it anything related to my pregnancy? Should I be worried?

Teamie, hospital you go please. Let the gynaecologist assure you that there is no problem. It is well with YOU and your LO.

Birth story


On Monday 29th of February, dh woke me up to settle some misunderstanding. I told him the previous night that I wasn't interested in the naming ceremony clothes again since he said it's going to be parlour things. So after much begging, I sha agreed to send a friend to buy us the clothes. He started disturbing for s£X, I refused because I heard it might lead to labour. He began his preaching., that since I'm refusing, it means i am still angry, so I kukuma gave in.

Dh left for work at 4:10am, Around 5:30am, I began to have contraction, (Humm, con see fear for my eyes, today of days 29th) it wasn't so painful but I wasn't able to move my legs. So I prepared for work. I got to work around 8, teachers were like madam, you never drop?

The contraction was coming and going but I didn't monitor the minutes apart. As I sat down in the class, my water broke, I asked a pupil to get me my baby's wrapper from the creche. I tied it and waited for some time. I packed my things, food and phones and went

The pushing began again, the MD con dey shout Jesus Jesus, I pushed with all my power even though I was very tired. My baby came out with his cord around his neck at exactly 1:41pm, weighing 3.1kg, the MD quickly cut it off. He didn't cry even with enough slapping, so he was placed on a machine, still he didn't cry.



Before I left the labour room to the ward, he cried once and I was happy. The nurses checked on him every 30 mins and when they come, they beat him till he crys nd I noticed he was been beaten on a particular hand.

A nurse said it affected his right hand but the hand is okay now. I pray it's really okay o.

In all, I thank God I'm alive and my son is alive.
His name is Kikiniyanuoluwa. Others names are still loading.

Congratulations to you once again. THANK you for sharing the birth story. I can imagine the look in your face begging not to be cut .....(i dread that cutting ooo ) . Guess it's the sex that brought the contractions. ...I hope it works for me too as I would love to have my baby at least 3days to my EDD. Your son will live and you will too to reap the fruits of your labour.

Welcome mama. What was the date of your Last menstrual period (LMP )? Count how many weeks have passed from that day till today. That will tell you how many weeks old your pregnancy is. Your month or team month as we call it refers to the month your baby is due to be born. You can calculate the month your self using pregnancy calculators on Google. Or take a scan. The sonographer will tell you your due date. So when you see #TeamAugust for example, It's means the mother is expecting the baby in August.

Please cross your legs well oo, that's you learning to be classy and stylish . Just know that mummy is eager to meet you in good shape and well formed.....but consider helping me to prepare early enough and well too for you by opening your legs early enough. I went there to make enquiries abt their charges and they refused to tell me hw much they charge for CS saying it depends on the case.

Tremie that sounds like a private hospital. ...I avoided hospitals that could not be specific on how much their charges are, telling me it depends on the situation . So you mean your management does not know how much to charge if I had a VD? ?? Those are hospitals in my town that charge based on the type of car they see you come with .

My joy knows no bound today because i was able to carry my pregrancy to term with multiple fibroids of 11cm, 5cm and 3cm without complications and give birth via VD to a beautiful baby girl!!!

Cc Britneystacy my dear, that's what happens when you don't know your lmp. I think my last cycle was in December ( first week of sept EDD) but my first scan put me at end of August and my doctor insists I go with the scan.
But im still hoping for a September baby cos na my anniversary month.

Good day all, please how does one treat malaria in a 5weeks old pregnancy? My wife is always very (abnormally) warm at night, would really appreciate urgent response.

Fever at night or warm temperature at night during early pregnancy is not necessarily a sign of malaria. Some women have it through out their first trimester....I had it too. To confirm if it's malaria, go to a hospital and a test will be carried out...

BS my EDD was 9th february and i was so excited because it was my daughter's birthday.but d day ended and my baby was still enjoying herself inside the belly.i was so impatient that i consumed enough pineapple,trekked,overworked myself,forced myself to kpekus despite the fact that it irritated me,etc but baby still relaxed and all i got was false labour.and so i decided to stop stressing myself. On saturday the 20th,i went to the market,bought food items,cooked and did many chores i couldnt do in a while.i was feeling contractions but i ignored them because they werent painful.By 12:36am my water broke.i told DH and he asked me to get dressed while he informed his parents.i got dressed and my father inlaw drove us to the hospital.

And our story is not complete. ...

if ur work involves alot of standing or sitting ur feet go dey swell tho deir r varying degrees.
can u wear loose fitting shoes or flipflops wen dey swell
mine was terrible. Every week I had to buy new shoe of different styles til I figured it out n bought over size I didn't care biko. Painful feet n having it massaged firmly wasnt funny @all[/quote]We were not told to check protein and sugar sha.. my work involves lotof sitting ooo. @BritneyStacy, my dr also noticed my swollen feet at the last anc and he recommended i reduce my salt intake. I'm actually a lover of salt. Even after serving my food, i still sprinkle salt on it. So i've stopped all that.
He also suggested i placed both legs on a pillow whenever i'm lying down and when sitting on a chair, i should stretch my leg out on top of a stool. So far, its been helping.
As for the heat, only God can rescue us. Even if you bathe a million times, the heat won't go away. And phcn is not helping matters.

Abeg make una torch light my matter . Having swollen feet ooo . Am just 15weeks oo. What could be the cause na? Looks like its retaining water or somethIng. I will wear shoes in the morning to work and before 10 my legs can't fit again......Am worried oo cos I used to see this swelling in mothers that are close to birthing their LOs....my own road still far ooo. #TeamAugust

My ongoing BS, i noticed i cld not sleep last night from slight abdominal pain and serious movement from LO so went in for antenatal today and doctor examined just to see i was already 4cm dilated without any signs. Just like that they have admitted me o. Am having slight pains and headache from sleepness night. Will keep giving you feedback as my sweet labor progresses.

Lemme try,E.D.D. is to be 20th,or next month said ultrasound. She said was havin cramp in the lower stomach under navel area On the 9th aroun 11pm. I tot it was part of d package as one woman wud say here,but it became like 30mins-5mins. We went to hospital dat night n were told to wait for water to break , no water or any stain until doc decide to try sumtin with warm water and using hand around 5:30 to 6am as she is firstimer(wife). Scream of pains n i was like "can God transfer sum of d pain to me" coz d sight is nt what i cn wish my enemy o.
I kept prayin silently and at d same tym thinkin all sorts of "bad things" and wud remind mysef God forbids bad thing. By God's grace ,he arrived at 7am after bin shoulder-stucked for sum minutes. Salutes to midwife and wifey for being strong.Funny thing is: It was on d 9th I just buy baby n hospital needs coz of d money, like he sees my bank acct. b4 coming. Mother healthy,little man suckin seriously and family happy. By HIS grace alone. Thank u mothers
