ProYouWebsiteUK: Is ECE acceptable by all schools too? Hope it is not only few schools that accept it? Lol That's where lots of people miss it. WES and ECE are all under the ICES.. International Credential Evaluation Services.. Look up on the school's website and you'll see WES or any evaluation under the ICES. You can confirm it from the website or better still, mail the graduate school. So as well, visit the ECE website . |

ProYouWebsiteUK: OK. Thank you. Does the process take much time? It is not compulsory to use WES you know.. ECE is very good as they don't require all those. WES is my best because it boosts GPA else , the process can be frustrating. |

Chibaby98: Hello everyone, so I have a question to ask. What documents do I have to present or if I do not have any documents to show, how do I prove that I intend to return to Nigeria after I am done with schooling in the US during my visa interview? I am actually going to renew my visa, I have been in the US for 2 years. First hope you didn't overstay your time? A very strong home tie is family, job and properties/investments. What type of Visa? |

kacey007: For clarity, in case one has multiple submissions, I hope the one used for appointment booking is what will be used for the interview? It is not a good thing to have multiple submissions. Take your time and fill the DS 160. |

Time2win: You can submit ds 160 and still go ahead and change something by filling a fresh one. You can fill up to 100 different ds 160 with different details, it won't stand against you if you didn't interview with it. It's only the ds 160 number they used in interviewing that they will leave on your profile and it count against you if you change anything during your second interview asumming you weren't given visa in the first attempt. If you have submitted your ds 160 and feel you made a mistake, you can fill a fresh one and change it with the old one you have on your appointment page. The unused ones (the one you weren't interviewed with) even if submitted will be deleted after 30days from the system. Alright |

TIGER1001: it's 20 hours a week . she said TA in a lab is 3 hours once a week since TA have actual contact hours and TA pays more than GA. is it that i will work the remaining 17 hours as a GA under my thesis supervisor, since a got TA and GA role? It means you will not be able to take another employment as you will exhaust all the hours given to students per week. Yes you'll be functioning as a TA and GA. If you have other options you might want to consider it before accepting this offer. |

TIGER1001: I got a TA/GA support and my graduate coordinator said unfortunately they cannot offer tuition waiver for graduate students rather i will receive monthly paycheck. house please what are your thoughts on this? How many hours per week? I think you should liaise with the international office so they tell you the value of the TA and deficit left. It still means you will have to show SOA to cover the deficits . |

Ayo199: pls I HV few questions o 1. can I use someone in the US as sponsor? 2. if you let the VO's know you have a relative or know someone in the US, would it in any way affect your chances? 3. What's the minimum amount that has to be in the account of ones sponsor?? Thanks in adv You can claim to have a relative and get a nod as far as the relative is in status. Else there will be issues. I saw a transcript of a girl that was denied 4 times because she filled her sister's details on the DS 160 who happened to be in OPT (she had not returned to Nigeria after her grad school.) They might ask how the person acquired citizenship if the person is a citizen. In essence, you MUST have substantial details about the person and the VO can pull the person's details from the database, just so you know. What do you mean by minimum amount? What is your deficit? That's what the VO works with. The closing balance of the statement of account must not be less than your deficit |

yuscodguy: You are correct a corporate America citizen in an official environment will never use such words on you.
People are bee sue for that, I undergo a training for something like this before I started working as a graduate teaching assistant in my school. You're 100% correct. And the VOs are well trained professionals to say the least. Saying 'shut up' is as bad as saying 'f**k you' in the corporate system. |

BISolutionsng: Hello guys, thank you for all the information on visa so far.
1. Please can someone explain what is a SOA? 2. Also, i have interview in July and I have my I-20 and admission letter, however....I don't really have any bank statement to use. Please can you advice.
If I know someone I can ask about bank Statement but it contradicts the name I put on the application form...wouldn't it affect my chances? It is always good to sought out yourself entirely before submitting the DS 160. Even the consulate said it recently on Facebook that misrepresentation on the DS160 can lead to denial. Putting A as your sponsor and going with B's statement of account would be the most silly thing to do and you'll be susceptible to all forms of nagative impression. |

Demonicide: I have done that already a longtime ago. I even have three admits. My major concern is not seeing testimony from HND graduate as it regards visa approval. More Universities, More Bsc, More Approvals. Doesn't mean HND doesn't come up here. It is more of ratio . |

Demonicide: Hi all, I have never seen any HND graduate getting VISA approval here. I just want to be sure before I take the next move. I'm so confused right now. HND sure can. You can make things easy by doing a degree evaluation with WES most preferably. Let me know if you have further concerns . |

Its still electrical engineering. I20 has a special way of representing the courses. Use the one on your offer letter, the VO knows about it or you can explain. |

bracelum: Oga, all you scribbled here is wrong.
If your Indian, Lebanese or Nigerian boss in Nigeria used words like "shut up", the same does not apply everywhere. The corporate culture differs across different countries. In corporate America, you don't use words carelessly to address people. Many CEOs and Senior Managers have resigned because they used harsh words to address people and were prosecuted for it. So, don't sit in your bedroom and write things you know nothing about. By the way, it is "corporate" and not "corperate"
I have always said that if you believe every word on every transcript you see here, you are fooling yourself. A lot of transcripts here are padded, adulterated or fitted with words to make them sound interesting. In some cases, it is very easy to spot such transcripts and in other cases, it may be difficult. A few days ago, someone mentioned that she paused the VO to tell the VO how she fell into the gutter to gather her visa documents that were not asked during the interview. A VO that has no time to listen to more than three reasons why you chose a school suddenly had time to pause her interviews to listen to the ordeal of a visa applicant and how she fell into a gutter and prayed and fasted before arriving for the interview.
That transcript (and this one) are some of the many padded transcripts here on NL. Take it or leave it. Leave the guy. I no just get strength to talk. |
