I will disagree on this.Ideology is the concept in which the political parties are formed(it is the foundation of any political party).It is when the ideal are conceptualised,then the political formation is realised and people will begin to choose where they want to belong.

90% + of our politicians belong to AGIP. so ignore them when they say that they are members of PDP,AC, ANPP etc. take for example ATIKU a VP under PDP but since he cannot actualise his ambitions he switch to AC.

Now, can anyone or anybody tells us what is the difference in ideology or policies between even the major parties in nigeria. nada, zero. all are interested in sharing monies in ABUJA

The bedrock of any nations democratic strength depends on the political ideology of the ruling class(elites).With this ideal of AGIP attitute,then the military will be more focused.

The way people switch from one political party to another is disturbing and i am tempted to ask if political party alliance is based on Ideology or what ?

You may want the HO to return your passport,but cannot travel and return back to the UK if the above questions are not cleared(IMO).

The EEA family permit was issued within 1 hour last week,when the sponsor stormed BHC office at Walter Carrington with documents/letters from the European Commission and MEP to the Immigration Minister Phil Woolas on the  illegal behaviour of the BHC in the processing of application for EEA family members.

I have a friend who was previously on a student visa but failed to return home after the expiration of her visa in 2005
She heard about the EU resident route, whereby someone with an EU settled status can apply for dependent (i think up to three people) as dependent, after application they qualify for genuine working national insurance and after some months they get about five years leave to remain- she is paying someone upto £4000 for it including the lawyer fees

Is this route genuine, considering she has an expired visa (she will pay £400 for new passport from nigeria house)
she has been living illegally for about 3-4years and working

I have heard some other people doing it successfully but you know our people, it is all hearsay

can anyone explain the process, duration and the price

Admission Scheme for Highly Educated Persons effective as of 1 January 2009

In anticipation of the implementation of the new migration system, a new Admission Scheme for Highly Educated Persons will be introduced as of 1 January 2009. Pursuant to this scheme, highly-educated foreign nationals who have attained at least a Master's degree can obtain a residence permit with a maximum term of 1 year in the Netherlands in order to find a job as a highly-skilled migrant or to start an innovative company. This scheme can ensure that foreign exceptional talents (who currently do not yet come to the Netherlands, but who can create economical added value for the Netherlands) are more easily admitted to the Netherlands.

Which persons qualify for this scheme?
The foreign nationals who qualify for this scheme are those who are entering the country from abroad, and who have completed a course at a university listed in the top 150 of two internationally recognised rankings. This concerns top 150 universities in rankings as published in the Times Higher Education Supplement and by Jiao Tong Shanghai University in 2007.
In addition, foreign nationals who have completed a Master's degree at a recognised institution for higher education or who have received their Ph.D from a Dutch institution for higher education also qualify for this scheme. All the above-mentioned highly-educated persons will be able to make use of this scheme until three years after the date of their graduation.

The points system
In addition to the requirement regarding the attainment of a Master's degree at one of the above-mentioned educational institutions, the foreign national will also be assessed on the basis of a points system. This system will be used to assess the level of education, age and performance indicators for success in the Netherlands. The highly-educated person will qualify for a residence permit if he scores at least 35 out of 40 points. A Master's degree will allow the foreign national to attain 25 points and a Ph.D will allow him to attain 30 points. Another 5 points are awarded if the foreign national is between the ages of 21 and 40. Another additional 5 points are awarded if the highly-educated person has previously worked or studied in the Netherlands, speaks Dutch or English, or has obtained his diploma in a country that is party to the Bologna Declaration.
Highly-educated persons who wish to make use of this scheme will not be assessed as regards their means of existence. Making use of public funds during the 1 year term of the residence permit (the so-called orientation year) may have consequences for this residence right. If the highly-educated person wishes to bring his family members to the Netherlands as well, the regular requirements regarding family reunification (including sufficient means of existence) will apply.

Highly-skilled Migrant Scheme
The foreign national can look for a job as a highly-skilled migrant in the Netherlands during his residence on the basis of the Admission Scheme for Highly Educated Persons. In this case, the employer will have to have been admitted to the Highly-skilled Migrant Scheme with the IND. The lowered income requirement in order to be considered a highly-skilled migrant then also applies to the highly-educated person. As soon as the highly-educated person has found a job making him eligible for highly-skilled migrant status, i.e. within a term of at most 1 year, he can convert the one-year residence permit into a residence permit as a highly-skilled migrant. The highly-educated person may also start an innovative company in the Netherlands within the orientation year. If he has succeeded within one year, he may request conversion of the residence permit into a residence permit to work on a self-employed basis. The requirements set in this respect do have to be satisfied.

Work permit
Foreign nationals who are awarded a residence permit pursuant to the Admission Scheme for Highly Educated Migrants are permitted to work as an employee during this orientation year if their employer has obtained a Work permit. Their family members are also permitted to work as employees if the employer has obtained a Work permit. The labour market position of the family members will change when the highly-educated person achieves the status of highly-skilled migrant or that of self-employed person. They will be completely free to seek employment as they see fit.

It can take a long time for such permit to be approved.The local consulate will usually forward the application to Sweden,where the man will be contacted for consent + normal checks and return back to the consulate(averagely 6months to 1 yr).The scrutining will be subject to the harsh national immigration laws,unlike the EU flexible regulation for family members if only the man relocate to other EU state(s) and your friend apply for a visa to the new country under the EU dimension.

Dr Alfred Oviomo, who doubles as practical prophet and minister of the Gospel, says Africans should not rejoice over the election of Senator Barack Obama as the first black African to become the President of the United States of America.

Besides, I also said that one of the local Government chairmen will lose his seat, unfortunately, it was my council area and it came to pass.

I want to say without mincing words that Barack Obama political ideology and the rest are going to be anti-Africa.

He is going to do this primarily for one reason, but it will later turn out to be a blessing to Africa . However, Nigeria / South Africa are to be highly favoured. I wish to say that Nigeria and South Africa will later turn out to be the hub of business activities for the American nation. At the end of it Obama’s policies are going to make Nigeria look faster than America and I tell you in the first year of Barrack Obama’s administration there is going to be crisis as a result of scandal against him, but I can assure you that he is going to weather the storm and will go for a second tenure and this will hasten development in Africa, hence I said his winning the election is a blessing and curse to Africa. At theend of the day, Africa will be better off while Americans will blame themselves for voting for a black man

A Governor in Niger – Delta Will be kidnapped

On Niger-Delta debacle those in power should be prayerful and take adequate care in handling the situation.

Infact during this period one of the Governors of Niger Delta will be abducted by the militants before the end of the second Quarter of this year.

I want to advice our Baracks Obama of Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole not to rejoice too much because the coast is not too clear for him now because he stands the risk of impeachment before October 2009 except he has to be prayerful to God to save this forth coming unpleasant situation. I can see that the ovation that greeted and hailed his coming to governance may be short lived.

Besides, the crisis in Niger – Delta is far from being over just as it is not yet Uhuru for the creation of Niger – Delta ministry as the ministry is going to be in heavy problem like the Niger – Delta Development commission (NDDC) that has done nothing for the Niger – Delta.

Nigerians should pray fervently that the heinous activities of militants should not go out of hand because if it happens, it will be too bloody and I tell you it is during this crisis that a governor in the region will be kidnapped by the militants.

Again the ministry of Niger Delta is not the solution yet whether over five hundred percent allocation is given to the region as a palliative measure will not solve the problem because it is not the percentage issue that matters rather commitment and focus should be the guiding factor this time around.

DESOPADEC

For instance the Delta State oil producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) is trying hard to impact on the lives of the oil producing Communities but the NDDC has been in existence since donkey years what they have done to better the lives of the oil bearing communities. We want people who are committed to the cause of the Niger Delta.

My appeal is that there should be a clear cut to develop the region, not this fire brigade approach because I see the establishment of the ministry as a fire-brigade approach.

If I may ask what has happened to the blue print meant for the development of Niger Delta which has not been complemented? Yet Yar’Adua is creating a ministry for the region. Infact the government has nothing to offer. It is a toothless bulldog.

2009 budget

Well, the budget is nothing but funny, although it is christened budget of austerity. Come to think of it, we have abundant human and material resources but we are not making use of these resources at our disposal. It is a pity that the common man is suffering it.

N50B budget for N’Delta ministry

N50 billion could mean some thing, if it is properly administered, and it could also mean nothing if it is wrongly spent. Abuja has been there. Why should government allocate to it N60 billion? However it is a good beginning, but it should be properly used.

Dilapidated South East Road

Frankly speaking, that Road is in bad condition. I strongly believe that we have not really effected the three RS of the post civil war, which are reconstruction, restoration and reconciliation we have not reconciled if we have reconciled, that road would have been done by now. That road is very bad. Each successive government is paying lip service to that road. I feel sad that Chief Ufot Ekaette who was secretary to the Government of the Federation for eight years did not do anything about the road. It is a shame. The eastern road leads to his village, yet he could not do anything to reconstruct the road.

Ugbesia Denies Collecting N500m For Constituency Projects



UBIAJA ––The Senator representing Edo Central in the National Assembly, Elder Odion Ugbesia has denied the speculation making the rounds that he collected N500 million for constituency projects.


Speaking recently at the foundation laying ceremony of an Healthcare Centre in Ubiaja he said the allegation was an imagination of his detractors as Senators do not award contracts but can only influence such to his/her senatorial district.


He described the allegation as a cheap blackmail and an attempt to tarnish his reputation.


He described that he was not aware how the contract were awarded but was only called upon to lay the foundation stone.


He listed other project he had influenced to the area to include a three-classroom block at Edekhoro Secondary School, and St John Bosco College, construction of Ofure Road and Sacred Heart Road while other projects were situated at Uromi in Esan North East Local Government Area and Irrua in Esan Central Government Area.


He however said projects for Esan West and Igueben Local Government Areas were yet to be awarded.


Continuing, he disclosed that the health centre would have a labour ward, male and female wards, dispensary unit, and borehole while other facilities would be provided noting that its presence would help in reducing child and mother mortality rate in the area.


Earlier the Chairman of Esan South-East Local Government Council, Prince Andrew Ojiemhenkele had commended the Senator representing the district for influencing and executing peoples-oriented projects in the district.


He said since his assumption of office, Ugbesia through his (Ugbesia) style of leadership had brought succour to the people at the grassroots.

Comrade Adams Oshomhole has increased the processing of C of O with over 500% claiming the state need to generate fund to manage its affairs.

Edo state is a state that have suffered bad leadership over the years with looting, stealing of state treasury. The people are very poor, many youths have flee the town to europe for greener pastures due to the high level of poverty in the state.

The price to process a C of O is more expensive that some lands itself.
the question now is, does he not want civil servants to build their houses? or he wants the state not to develop?

Is he really the messiah for Edo State?
