jesusjnr2020: Social Media: A Curse Or Blessing To Christianity?
In the Bible days, to get the Gospel of Christ from one nation or part of the world to another, one would have to traverse long distances physically or through other transportation means available at the time to be able to do so.
This could take days, weeks, sometimes months, and possibly years to achieve, that's even if the person is able to survive the dangers and difficulties he faces along the way, for instance, ship wrecks, persecutions, diseases, etc.
However today, someone doesn't have to leave the confines of his building to be able to do so. Even from the comfort of one's living room, someone could be preaching the Gospel to those in an entirely different part of the world.
That's what the internet and social media has afforded today's preachers of the Gospel.
I'm pretty sure that the apostles would love to have had such an opportunity at their disposal. They would have taken it with both hands and exploited it to the fullest with respect to the assignment Jesus gave them to preach His Gospel to all men.
Of course, there's also the negative side that comes with the internet and social media, considering the fact that it's being more or less controlled by the world which in turn is under the devil's control.
However this is not unexpected as Jesus already knew this about the world yet He sent His disciples into the world to preach His Gospel, because He knew that if His disciples follow His instructions and watch and pray, there's nothing the devil or the world can do to stop or deter them regardless of the temptations, trials, persecutions, they brought their way.
Now imagine Jesus' walking on water, raising of Lazarus from the grave, or other miracles Jesus did being streamed or broadcast live on this day and age of the internet and social media, trust me, it will definitely have most views, if not most likes and shares than anything the world has to offer, because nothing of this world could equate that.
If Jesus is yet the most famous person that ever lived by far despite not having these channels at His disposal during His days, how much more if He did?
Jesus said those who believe shall do the works He did and even greater works because He was going to the Father. John 12:14.
That means that Jesus doesn't have to be here Himself to be able to achieve those same results.
He already made provision for His church to be able to replicate the mighty works He did on Earth before He left, so it's up to the up to the church to yield themselves completely to Him as did the early church, so He could use them to showcase the great and mighty works of God for the whole world to see that He alone is the Lord of the earth.
Hence I believe that if properly harnessed, the social media is more than a blessing for the church.
It provides a huge opportunity for the church to carry out it's divine assignment on Earth, to preach the Gospel of Christ to every creature.
God bless. Both!!! Depends on how what you use it for U take the gospel to places U won't be able to reach in your life time through social media...but at the same time, it offers exposure to immorality and crime...so like I said... the answer is both depending on how U and what u use for. |

tasalanoni: Nl folks, pls your opinions are needed. I'm currently 31, earning reasonably well and with greater prospects for the future.
The pressure to settle down is getting stronger by the day. However, I don't consider myself psychically fit for marriage in the midst of the deterioration that the marriage Institution is experiencing.
Judging by my current perspective and disposition on the subject of marriage, I don't see myself setting down even in the next 5years. I try to carefully look at the pros and cons of contracting a marriage in today's world and I always come to the conclusion that there are more cons than pros.
I'm also not a very family oriented person in the sense of creating familial bonds and deeply cherishing them hence I derive my fulfillment and pleasure in doing the things I love to do, acquiring wealth and giving help wherever I deem necessary.
The thought of opting for an adoption is beginning to occupy the greater part of my consciousness and the reasons are few and in my opinion very valid.
1. Progeny is very important in social arrangements especially in the Igbo society. I'll definitely be needing someone to carry on the family's name and legacy when I'm no more.
2. If my perspective on marriage changes for any reason and I decide to take the step towards contracting one, I may have become a little too old then to handle the perculiates of marriage and family life( parenting, school runs issues etc). But with a child already in picture and almost a teenager by then, that part of the problem would have been kicked out.. Nb:As for raising the adopted child, myself, parents, siblings and a helper will be involved while financial responsibility will be exclusively mine.
Kindly help me with insightful and mature advice that is based on direct or third party experience. According to U, You're not a family oriented Man,Yet U want to Adopt a child... You're not qualified Oga...Let your wealth be your companion...in future you'll realize Y U will never be wiser than God .... |

Being sick and a bachelor, I’ve been craving things especially goat meat pepper soup but I have no one to prepare it for me amidst my sickness. So, I had to take the bull by the horn.
I wrote down a list and went to the market to buy things for goat meat pepper soup. Before leaving the house, I realized my female neighbor was at home, so I thought it was a good time to reciprocate her generosity so, I went to the market having her in mind.
Im done cooking now so i want to surprise her with my delicacy. I have dished her own share and im taking it to her now. Im thinking of adding malt too. Well, I hope she likes it. Is that rice or porridge Terrible cook |

mcdon024: Mature advice only please. I will keep this very short. There is this her colleague she talks about almost all the time. He is also married. I became curious and decided to go through her WhatsApp chats with this guy. I saw in thier chats selfie pics she sends to him (normal selfie pics), and the one that really got to me is the part he invited my wife to come over and "lets make babies" according to him. But her reply was "No I can't, your hands are full"....Please who can decode this her reply to him?....I confronted her but she denied ever having anything to do with him beside been colleagues. But my worry is why chat flirty chats with a guy and what would give him the mind to ask her to come over and .......... Please I need mature advice only Be very careful the kind of advice u take here... most guys here are single... some can't even keep a steady relationship...these are the ones who will be telling you how that chat means your wife is cheating and how u should send her parking....My Dear your Wife is not cheating as far as that chat is concerned...is normal among ladies including married once to have Men flirting with them... did you read where she accepted or even said she's going to think about it...She said No outrightly... don't be too hard or strict on Her... just give Her advice and tell her how U love her and proud of her..... Just Sit Her down and tell Her the danger in keeping such person as friends and....if you truly Love Her, handle the matter with the mindset u want to her her and also save your Marriage.... don't allow Single boys hear who don't know what it takes to be married to ruin your marriage.she should've rebuked the Man for saying such.... let Her know...but don't be too hash about it. |

Awesome6s: Every African footballer hopes to one day win the Confederation of African Football (CAF) best player of the Year award because it is the most prestigious individual honour in african football. The date for this year’s CAF award ceremony has been scheduled on Monday, 11 December 2023 at Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco at 7pm.
As the ceremony closes in, we take a look at the top three contenders and their chances.
Victor Osimhen (Nigeria and Napoli)
Osimhen, who scored 31 goals in 39 games for the Gli Azzurri across all competitions in 2022–23, is regarded as the overwhelming favourite to win the award, and for good reason. Salah had a disappointing season...No major contribution at club level as Liverpool finished outside 4th for the first time in a while....Hakimi had a great world cup for Morocco..but Bonuo the keeper and Yusuf the striker where the 2 Stand out in the team for Me....Osimeh Basically Gave Napoli the League Title....Afcon top scorer also...So Osimeh should have that one already |

naijamanyoutube: I was in Manchester for 2 weeks as my first stop on my Europe tour, I plan to visit over 20 European countries on this tour.
I stayed with my sister and her family in Manchester, I was treated like a king with so many delicious Nigerian food.
I took pictures of some of them and here they are. These food might look like no big deal to many on here, but it is for me, since I don’t know how to cook and I live in Las Vegas where it’s very expensive to eat Nigerian food at a restaurant.
I’m in Edinburgh, Scotland at the moment, will make my way to Glasgow, Scotland tomorrow, and then board a bus that will take me to Northern Ireland. The bus will drive onto a Ferry to cross the Irish Sea. I will stay one day in Belfast and then jump on a train to places I don’t know yet, but I have to be at the airport in Dublin on Monday the 23rd of October to catch a flight to London, where I will stay with Dj Douglas for 1 week. He’s is a childhood friend of mine. He’s the one who taught Dj Neptune how to Dj. The last time I saw Douglas face to face was back in December 2005, when he went to the airport with me when I was traveling to Amsterdam from Lagos, on vacation. Before I got back to Lagos in January of 2006, Douglas don japa go London. Lol
He’s established now with a wife and kids.
I will post more as I go about my journey. Stay tuned. that pap and Akara Sha... maybe I'll go for that tonight |

Family › Re: Should I Have Collected The Bread From Her Mother? by Brownemeka: 2:52pm On Nov 20, 2023 |
PuZZyNegro: I traveled from Lagos to Port Harcourt to see my future in laws family. My girl wasn't around as she's still in Lagos schooling.
I went there with a family member and got them some items like shortcake biscuits and juice.
They offered us food and we ate. After the meeting and normal questioning, we were set to go when surprisingly, this people brought out two loaves of bread and gave us. I told them that the food we ate was enough, that we don't need the bread.
We haven't even gone far when my girl started texting me on WhatsApp angrily asking me why I rejected her mother's gift. That she gave it out of love, this and that.
I told her that bread is the wrongest gift the mother could give me. I am supposed to buy them bread and not the one way round. I intentionally refused to buy bread for them because I assumed bread is an everyday food that people buy and eat, so I decided to go with the package biscuits instead and here they are offering me bread.
If it were something produced locally by them like coconut or something, I can understand but bread?
Please, did I do anything wrong rejecting the bread? strange gift to someone who visited you... might be their own tradition though |
