Irupetepete:I found myself on the floor staring at the ceiling after getting out of a hot bath to pee. And when I got up, my £2000 laptop was having a bath. I had an infection at the time and was on antibiotics, and got light headed from the hot bath. The entire episode lasted less than 3 minutes. Trust me when I say I'm far too embarrassed as I write this, but glad I didn't join the laptop in the bath. The fact I'm alive stops me lamenting the demise of my beloved laptop, to an extent, at least. It was very stupid of me to take it into the bathroom when I could have taken my £300 one instead. |
basilico:All that welcomed foreign investment, and raumdeuter is trying to convince us more millionaires are leaving UK than arriving. Qatar is trying hard to reduce it's fundamentalism, and are unlikely to export it to UK. But if they try, we have enough atheists and Christians and even Muslims here willing to tell them where to go. As for you. Don't cry for us. Cry for yourself! |

AntiChristian:Attacks are like the seeds that fell on the harmless roadside and withered in the sun and died. Some seeds fall on fertile minds and produce crop a millionfold. |
ruggedtimi:For me, the Library of Alexandria would be one of the first universities, but for you to be me, I'd need to have to convince you that university learning happened at the library, and I doubt I could achieve that on my own without your assistance, considering you think islamic studies is not enough study to make a place a university. |
Lots of our rivers are infested with Bilharzia which kills before you get to the Olympics. |
shortgun:I do blame our inability to unite and organise and fight against this, as no one person can alone defeat them. "The strength of the broom lies not in the power of a single frond but in the resilience of its united fronds". |
Seun:How does the following impact us? BREAKING: The new Cybercrimes Act 2025 has officially been passed into law by the National Assembly under Senate President Godswill Akpabio. |

basilico:Same way you are told qanon mules 2000 kraken? Stop letting yourself be told, is my advice to you. |
basilico:Do you somehow think the Green Party that has four Members in the House of Commons and two in the House of Lords and about 860 out of 18645 local councillors, dictates policy for democratic UK? That might explain why you lie to yourself that "Mamdani could seize luxury condos and give them to the homeless". |
ono:You should read my Genesis 2 exposition to know it Biblically began in the Garden of Eden, though existed amongst the earliest of humanoids. https://www.nairaland.com/6795272/reeves-pass https://www.nairaland.com/7351620/story-adam-eve-makes-sense#117003826 I am an atheist. I go to Church of England (regularly in the past but just sometimes these days), only because of their contribution to the abolition of slavery which I highly appreciate. But even they wouldn't claim their fight for abolition makes them not culpable to a large extent in the transatlantic slave trade which Britain didn't start nor where the most profligate in, even though the CoE was huge in the slave business. Below is some reading. https://www.churchofengland.org/about/governance/national-church-institutions/church-commissioners-england/who-we-are/church-commissioners-links-african-chattel-enslavement

basilico:When the Fed is not out of kilt like it is now, lowering rates with potentially rising inflation, yes mortgages rates are linked, as opposed to heavily tied, to the 30 year. But as you can see, "30-year fixed mortgages edged down to 6.43%", so the link is not so heavily tied to the Feds target interest rate of 4.2% In fact, if the Fed were to cut its effective federal funds rate today, mortgage rates are likely to rise further due to inflation expectations. But we'll need to wait and see. |
Why are Nigerian authorities so lawless? Is it because they are not sued for wrongful detention plus stress and loss of income and legal fees? |
CodeTemplarr:Nobel prizes that they gave mostly to people on their own side of the world or what? Or do you think they'd give a Nobel to an Iranian who comes up with an invention or advancement today? Would you claim Africans, who have won very few Nobels, have not come up with any invention that advanced the human race? And for a herring. Please explain the advancement or invention our own Nobel laureates came up with. I'm intrigued. |
RodgersAkpafu:30 billion a month in tariffs. And it comes from corporate profit. |
happney65:He's already promised it to farmers, so we'll see how much he has left for those $1000 cheques. Oh! But the tariffs are not coming from the pocket of the rich, as far as they know, even though they are a tax on the profits of the companies most own shares in. https://wolfstreet.com/2025/10/01/tariff-cash-keeps-rolling-in-record-30-billion-in-september/ |
ono:So, you are grateful they enslaved your forebears and generations after instead of stealing your land after they failed to enslave Red Indian tribes who fought back? I guess you disregard more than half of your forebears they took and threw overboard into the sea because they couldn't feed them en route, and those they whipped to death. Their lives were not spared, but since they had no descendants alive today to moan about their not being here, you can just forget about them and the history they left behind. As to your "acquiesce to superior force", my response is below, with recognition that some are the opposite. I'll let you decide what you do when confronted with "superior knowledge". And note your patronising "temper temper" please, because it's likely to get a rude response from me.
|
TV01:I'm certain you feel they are not Muslims therefore, but if you are interested, here's a list of some inventions that came out the Muslim world. And it's not their fault there were no Nobels for any of them.

Steel mills built when our Ajaokuta was built are bring decommissioned because they are now non-viable ancient technology, but we want to raise the dead and rotten. It's like spending lots of money on a Peugeot 404 and expecting it to perform like their latest EV car. Do note that reviving a 404 has value in some places, but not many Nigerians will include wanting one when they pray to their gods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwsxGwcZzQY |
ono:After you've given us Brits immense credit for perpetuating slavery first please. We deserve that too. |
On our telly currently is a program about British development of nuclear bombs in colonised Australia, and the colonised aborigines don't seem to have found anything good in it. In fact, the British soldiers who went there didn't find anything good in it neither.

If your number is quoted like you quoted someone's, then you'd need to nicely ask the quoter to edit the post and remove your number. https://www.nairaland.com/3589456/house-clearance-sales-come-here/7337#137017235 |
Exousiang01:Read. https://www.nairaland.com/8535618/why-muslims-not-winning-nobel#137059937 |
raumdeuter:Do let me know when King Charles and all his land owning lords pack their millions and leave so I can start to consider whether to panic or not. Meanwhile, we are good, thank you very much. |
Exousiang01:Yes, there have been many Muslims that have done spectacular things that deserve the Nobel, and the fact you don't know is more indicative of you. |
There's not been so many but there's been some. https://platform.ilke.org.tr/analyze/leading-science-muslim-nobel-laureates-in-science#! https://www.forbes.com/sites/saleemali/2023/10/01/nobel-prizes-science-and-islam/

benalvino3:You may have been savages back then, but there were lots of Africans who weren't. In fact, I'd go further and say those who put chains around the necks of human beings and made many generations, including their own offspring, slaves in their fields were the savages, but I don't expect you to agree.
|
raumdeuter:We are constantly making new millionaires to replace those who leave. Just from our own japas, millionaires are rising, and we accept migrants from all over the world from whom some will become millionaires. |
raumdeuter:And while you are at it, check the populations too, and land mass, and consider the advantage free slave labour and land acquisition and migration is too. |
