Men needs to do regular medical checkup....in the year 2021, I was speaking with someone and all of a sudden, I couldn't say anything anymore, my voice just seized, I began to fold and just slumped immediately. Thank God I was in an open place...woke up some minutes later or maybe na hours self ...I later found out it was low sugar
I found myself on the floor staring at the ceiling after getting out of a hot bath to pee. And when I got up, my £2000 laptop was having a bath.

I had an infection at the time and was on antibiotics, and got light headed from the hot bath. The entire episode lasted less than 3 minutes.

Trust me when I say I'm far too embarrassed as I write this, but glad I didn't join the laptop in the bath.

The fact I'm alive stops me lamenting the demise of my beloved laptop, to an extent, at least. It was very stupid of me to take it into the bathroom when I could have taken my £300 one instead.

Actually it's true. Qatar is the largest private office sq feet owner in London. Not in terns land acreage.

Canary Wharf Group Investment Holdings - 21,452,796 sq ft
The Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London - 17,447,701 sq ft
Transport for London - 14,889,025 sq ft
Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) / Qatari Diar - ~10.7 million sq ft
Derwent London - ~5.5 million sq ft

*** QIA owns 60% of the No 1.

Whether they are ranked No 4 you can see how welcoming UK is...I think it's retrogression.
All that welcomed foreign investment, and raumdeuter is trying to convince us more millionaires are leaving UK than arriving.

Qatar is trying hard to reduce it's fundamentalism, and are unlikely to export it to UK. But if they try, we have enough atheists and Christians and even Muslims here willing to tell them where to go.

As for you. Don't cry for us. Cry for yourself!

For me, the Library of Alexandria would be one of the first universities, but for you to be me, I'd need to have to convince you that university learning happened at the library, and I doubt I could achieve that on my own without your assistance, considering you think islamic studies is not enough study to make a place a university.

Nigeria’s authorities act lawlessly because they know they can get away with it. Nigerians are always wrongfully detained, harassed or stripped of their rights and there’s rarely any justice for the victims. No compensation for the stress, loss of income or legal costs. Instead, the system protects the violators instead of the victims.

If every Nigerian begins to hold these officials accountable, impunity would decline .
But because nobody is punished, lawlessness has become the culture of governance.

That’s exactly why Nigeria is not moving forward. Until the citizens, rise to demand accountability consistently this downward spiral will continue. Progress will only begin the day we stop accepting abuse as normal.
I do blame our inability to unite and organise and fight against this, as no one person can alone defeat them.

I swear to God, I will create a forum, throw money at it for the sake of it and make it free to post anything we all can agree on represents common sense.

What's all this bot ban nonsense? How's the ownership ignoring this for this long? What benefits do your bots serve, so much that irritation of its user base - its own sustenance - becomes remotely acceptable?

This makes no technical sense. And it makes no business sense.
Seun:
Dear Nairalanders,

We are ramping things up. Here are some things we have done recently:

1. We gave Nairaland's theme a little facelift, fixing buttons, pagination, separators, and other little things.

2. We implemented a dark mode for Nairaland with the most intuitive UX: a sun toggle on your upper right.

3. We further relaxed the minimum character rule because many people were still struggling with it.

We are also trying to make our moderation bot (aka antispam bot) more accurate. Bear with us on that.

What else do you want us to work on?

Best Regards.

Do you somehow think the Green Party that has four Members in the House of Commons and two in the House of Lords and about 860 out of 18645 local councillors, dictates policy for democratic UK?

That might explain why you lie to yourself that "Mamdani could seize luxury condos and give them to the homeless".

buda, slavery predates the Brits. The scourge was on Earth even in Biblical times. All the major powers of the world - before the Brits, had slaves. Romans, Greeks, Ottomans and their Arabs friends, etc. I heard the Ottomans were notoriously cruel with slaves and I have watched a couple of documentaries on how "efficient" they were in wiping out entire communities and towns once they fall into their callous hands during war times.

Give it to the Brits. They did good. By the way I lived in Edinburgh for more than 3 years - and I still have my Lothian Bus card!
You should read my Genesis 2 exposition to know it Biblically began in the Garden of Eden, though existed amongst the earliest of humanoids.

I am an atheist. I go to Church of England (regularly in the past but just sometimes these days), only because of their contribution to the abolition of slavery which I highly appreciate. But even they wouldn't claim their fight for abolition makes them not culpable to a large extent in the transatlantic slave trade which Britain didn't start nor where the most profligate in, even though the CoE was huge in the slave business.

Below is some reading.

Thanks. Looks like the mortgage rates are heavily tied to 30 year Treasury yields, so Fed cutting rates doesn't immediately translate to lower mortgage rates. The 30 year Treasury yield rate is currently at 4.2% .
That would be my understanding, I could be wrong.
When the Fed is not out of kilt like it is now, lowering rates with potentially rising inflation, yes mortgages rates are linked, as opposed to heavily tied, to the 30 year. But as you can see, "30-year fixed mortgages edged down to 6.43%", so the link is not so heavily tied to the Feds target interest rate of 4.2%

In fact, if the Fed were to cut its effective federal funds rate today, mortgage rates are likely to rise further due to inflation expectations. But we'll need to wait and see.

Is it because they are not sued for wrongful detention plus stress and loss of income and legal fees?

Invention and advancements are two very different things. Invention can account for 1% of progress made in a thing or field and advancement 99%. The noble prices are largely advancements.
Nobel prizes that they gave mostly to people on their own side of the world or what?

Or do you think they'd give a Nobel to an Iranian who comes up with an invention or advancement today?

Would you claim Africans, who have won very few Nobels, have not come up with any invention that advanced the human race?

And for a herring. Please explain the advancement or invention our own Nobel laureates came up with. I'm intrigued.

Now, these guys spared our forebears lives. They could have done to us what they did to the sioux and other Red Indian tribes in North America. Would you be here today if they had done that?
So, you are grateful they enslaved your forebears and generations after instead of stealing your land after they failed to enslave Red Indian tribes who fought back?

I guess you disregard more than half of your forebears they took and threw overboard into the sea because they couldn't feed them en route, and those they whipped to death.

Their lives were not spared, but since they had no descendants alive today to moan about their not being here, you can just forget about them and the history they left behind.

As to your "acquiesce to superior force", my response is below, with recognition that some are the opposite.

I'll let you decide what you do when confronted with "superior knowledge".

Wrong. Or at best misleading. Muslim recipients of Nobel Prizes tend to be enabled by, and emerge from, the Western milieu.
I'm certain you feel they are not Muslims therefore, but if you are interested, here's a list of some inventions that came out the Muslim world.

And it's not their fault there were no Nobels for any of them.

Steel mills built when our Ajaokuta was built are bring decommissioned because they are now non-viable ancient technology, but we want to raise the dead and rotten.

It's like spending lots of money on a Peugeot 404 and expecting it to perform like their latest EV car.

Do note that reviving a 404 has value in some places, but not many Nigerians will include wanting one when they pray to their gods
