Here is some reading matter for those who don't fear Words and Wisdom, though I confess its only knowledge (you got to convert it yourself!), and listening, since my eyes work no more.

Aaronsrod:
It is enough that we eat of our Lord's flesh.

Let us read no more lest we become wise in our own conceits.

It is well.
Whether one is conceited or not is entirely up to oneself, and the none use of the talent of the intellect is a desire for imperfection which might be unpleasing to a God who seems to like perfection. We all know what happens to those who refuse to use their talent, even the little they have will be taken away from them! The wise do not shirk their duty for fear of conceit because wisdom is lord over conceit, as it is over every sin.

I want to hope you are joking. One can only eat the flesh of Jesus by imbibing every Word that proceedeth from the Mouth of God, and you must be aware God's mouth is sometimes a burning bush, an angel, Balaam's ass, a voice in the cloud, your neighbour, yourself even, and etc.

I am stating here that the Bible is only the syllabus, the bread, and if you eat only bread you will be malnourished, and those who fear Words will never learn to say "Let there be".

Aaronsrod:
But we have the Holy Bible!

What other book could we ever want or need huh huh
And is it not written in the Bible that you will become malnourished if you eat only bread?

When we say "read", it includes gain 'understanding' of what you read too, for that is what fosters wisdom.

There's no basis for argument. Nigeria has got highly-skilled engineers, world class even, but all those who fall within this category are trained abroad. 100% home trained Nigerian engineers have no skills. Hence, are only suitable for unskilled jobs. In addition to being an accountant and a business administrator, I am also an engineer (electrical), but I must say the truth. Ask yourself this, how can one be skilled at something he has never seen? That's the plight of the Nigerian engineer, not that we are dull.
There are Nigerian trained engineers who are proving to be first class. It's like in school where some are first and some are promoted on trial.

Perhaps find the successful ones and learn their trick. I assure you that we are out there.

is it not halarious, you say nigerian engineers are needed abroad...so how do they need us abroad when we dont even have the skills they need

yes for casual labourers we are needed in dubai but for top engineering jobs..hell no, list 5 top architectural firms in Nigeria that are purely Nigerian owned
I think you need to go back and reread that I wrote instead of asking me to do your research fpr you!

"Nigerian engineers are highly sought abroad for this project."

We are sought in Nigeria to work abroad too. It is those who are useless and have no skills to sell or don't know how to sell them that end up labouring in Dubai!

which developed country is looking for a third world engineer that cant even build his own country.

the nigerians you see working on project abroad are unskilled labourers
I think you need glasses. We are not anyone's labourer and some of us build our country.

So asking is the new prayer. Cool, really cool. cheesy
Yes, "asking" is the new prayer. After you asked you started working and your prayers are being answered. Or is that not what happened? Did your asking not direct the work you did to find the answers to your prayers?

Am black and proud too but he is actually right. Yes, culturally we are selfish/self centered and that does not relate to being ambitious whatsoever. We do read, but compared to other races those who stand out to such levels are those he called Talented Tenth who are not willing to come together to develop the remaining Ninety but rather hold conferences with the façade of helping the community but actually with the intention of self-acknowledgement.
You sure are difficult to help though, with every Nigerian being a "talented tenth".

Perhaps we should try harder. We don't yet read enough.

Too many pple typing what they dont kno about. Ofcourse maybe ur analysis is right but as as far as thus refinery is concerned, Nigerians handle 90% of the work but then under supervision of their cruel and insensitive chinese bosses.
I.e recently like 500 iron benders were sacked from the company where i worked...while these were the guys that started the work fron the scratch, did the settin out and the executed the BBS of the foundation. But now that the work is easier, they were demobilized and they brought their indian lookin tortoise to complete the rest.
The Nigerian welders did the grunt work. The Indians are perhaps doing the brain work.

By the way, Nigerian engineers are highly sought abroad for this project. Those hired get paid in dollars.

Really sad how Labour laws only apply to few companies and NUPENG can't bark let alone bite at the terrible inhumane treatment meted out to citizens of this country in oil and gas biz run or administered by Indians
Why can't NUPENG bark?
Did they not take care of their teeth?

Dangote will turn a blind eye to this.

Also, when it's time to give official positions provided he is alive if the refinery begins full operation, Nigerians will work as secretaries, cleaners, gatemen while the so-called ''expatriates" will handle the administrative posts.

Nigerians will be sacked at will despite meagre salaries while the red people will be paid heavily
The above will only happen if we are willing to sit on our ass, not unionise, and command better treatment.

You are very correct op, ""Miracles" In The Scriptures Don't Verify The Scriptures". They are not meant to, least, not in this day and age. I'd have to do something damaging to you to convince you a virgin gave birth without any manly contribution and trying will make me deservedly stupid or deceptive.

You might want to consider them more as riddles to be solved. Mere gnawing on them long enough with your mind is good exercise, and you too might learn to perform some.
Christianity Etc › Re: "Miracles" In The Scriptures Don't Verify The Scriptures by budaatum:
LordReed:
It is one of the problems of belief in a set of holy scriptures. The scriptures can not prove itself but can provide the means by which it may be proved.

In the case of the bible, the ways by which it says it can be proved to be true all fail to produce any evidence that will raise its certainty beyond the threshold of reasonable doubt. All of the supernatural powers the bible says believers will have, have not been conclusively shown to be in effect. All we see is results that are no better than chance.
The problem you all face is this need to "believe", and unfortunately, the Bible appears to encourage it, especially if you miss the Spirit of it. But if you study any of the Gospels, you'd hardly find Jesus believing a single thing. Or was it not "belief", that he argued about with just about all those he debated with? Does satan too not believe and shudder? Can someone explain when something satan does became a virtue? Would you read Jack and the Beanstalk or the Tortoise and the Hare and believe it instead of learning the intent of the story?

Christianity and believers are not the same thing. Christianity, is in fact more about your "doings" and how you develop your brain, and if you limit yourself to believing, it is my opinion that you are lazy and are talentless and your manna must fall from the sky or you just haven't yet left your childish ways. And I doubt some of you have bothered to even read the Bible, not to talk of reading in Spirit!

If my Lord asks me to test the prophets, my Lord would expect that I test my Lord too, if simply because, as it is in heaven, so it is on earth.

P.s. Don't anyone bother quoting "believe" verses at me unless you've first read my view of believing here and here and considered that if you did not use your brain and believed what you were taught in maths class, you most likely failed maths!

We no de sow better but expect to reap better! Abi na martians or malians de cause traffic for Lagos? If we sow better we go de suffer like so?

Please don't bother telling me "government". You'd simply be saying malians or martians, and that you yourself are useless. No be government de disobey traffic rules and drive on the other side of the road, and if you learnt to rule yourself, more shall be given unto you to rule.
