LordReed:Something does not add up here my Lord. They can not have acquired it the "same way" and then "say to themselves this contradicts my holy book therefore it is wrong". That's like claiming a thousand naira note in one's pocket is not there. Even if I were lying, one would have to reason why! So lets, without laziness, or in Christainese, to God's Glory, as in, for the ultimate good, consider the following. What is 'it' that you and I acquire? How do "you and I" acquire it? Why do we, unlike them, not say "it is wrong"? |
|
IamPlato:Many have answered the question. No one has given the right answer. |
Ranchhoddas:Solomon the "peaceful" and "friend of God" is my most admired person in Scripture. From the abundance of his own heart he asked for wisdom and knowledge, and: God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.” Reminds me why I don't pray. It would after all be odd to go "Lord, give me knowledge and wisdom", all the time as if it would drop down like manna from heaven. What work does one do to be given or to attain wisdom and knowledge, Hoddas? |
IamPlato:The pound to me? First, greetings. And welcome back, its been a while. I said "imagine" in the op. Those who know me know I mean create it in your own head, or why allow me to fill your head with my what's in mine. I guess I never confessed that this had to do with the head of JeromeBlack? My bad. This has to do with the head of JeromeBlack. Cunning how you ask the same question in a different way. See what a person who uses his head came up with! Ranchhoddas: |
MuttleyLaff:No muttley, it is you who perhaps should be less hasty! Not everyone is in your "world of a dark room, with an unknown Creator"! You mentioned the blind, and did not mention those who have eyes that work and have been to the Jesustician and got jesusglases and know what mountain to climb up to look. |
sonmvayina:We must thank Paul who elevated Jesus to his virgin birth and ressurected death or we might not have heard of him at all. But Jesus is much more than his birth and death and I doubt many Christians would consider his death a misfortune, or have you not read "for God so loved the world"? Imagine a world that has not been influenced by Christianity and tell me what you see. |
Ranchhoddas:The plenty work? I wonder. Ranchhoddas:Well, lets perhaps not jump ahead of ourselves now, I'm not exactly wealthy, it's why I raised my summer fund with this thread. "Wealth", that which would be treasure that is stored where moths don't eat it, is for those who do the work and have treasure to store, and if it truly is treasure, and would be shared, it ought to "bring them (that receive of it) to the right understanding of wealth, its uses and methods of acquisition", or the treasure is in vain, and doesn't do whatever it says treasure ought to do which is, enrich. I guess the next question, worker hoddas, is, what enriches? But I know you work. I seen you working. So lets start with, what is the work? . |
IamPlato:Sorry for socraticism, but I'd think one must first have that which one saves in order to be able to put some of it aside. Besides, the pound went in the vault from month one long before the 40 year old got intellect or a pound or became capable of putting things in vaults. I agree with the above except your, "Saved Up Nothing". I wonder why you call "treasure", "saved"?
|
sonmvayina:Can't say that I see that "the death of a person benefits another person that is alive". Though I can imagine scenarios. A mother giving her life for her child springs to mind, as does a soldier in the army in a battle. Have you an answer to your question? Enlighten me please. |
MuttleyLaff:I beg to differ with you too, we are not all "in this world of a dark room with an unknown Creator"! Some of us brought lamps, and a jar with extra oil!
|
LordReed:I beg to differ. Look closer. |
jesusjnr:Yes, I agree. The "stupid, foolish and ignorant", for the wise know that if they feed them alms they will have to feed them alms everyday, and that "the treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth" is not their daily bread nor manna, but the bread of life that if you eat thereof you shall never hunger. jesusjnr:Yes, the "stupid, foolish and ignorant" would wilt to be perfect for vanity gets in theircways. The wise do not aim for perfection because they God created them the way they are. jesusjnr:Yet, blessed are the meek and the poor who fear not and inherit the Kingdom of God. |
Ranchhoddas:The above, in fact sounds like Platonism's "Form of the Good", the "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Christianity, the goal of the Philosopher King who reigns in heaven, those who would be the Messiah of the world and not that of everybody else who is ruled or waiting to be saved. I can't help think Christians are meant to learn to bear their own cross first before helping remove the twig from the eyes of others. Or can those with forests in their eye bear the cross of another? Are there not even some who go about, some intentionally some mistakenly, planting forests in their own and other people's eye instead of pruning branches? Though Paul can't help his mysticism and the Word lieth not. The issue is, why give my wealth to lazy manna people? Is it not true anymore that sowers reap? Must more blood be shed for salvation? Please note that my explanatorys so far constitute clues to the right answer, which, going by my reckoning, leaves a token sum for anyone who gets the answer right. I'll double it for ingenuity. Meanwhile, here's a rich man who might feed the starving. As for buda, you all have brains. If you used it you will be blessed. And the work is plenty but the workers few.
|
MuttleyLaff:We do "God is like that, God is like this", according to our own puny minds. This was you. MuttleyLaff:My response is this thread. Anyone wanna work out what the gibberish means yet? |
The price of being corrupt! One day we go catch all of them. My bubu too, watch out! |
jesusjnr:Funny. Makes me think of the smarter ones amongst the mogs who open schools and educate people. Many say the poor in their congregation can't afford the fees and that's wrong and I ask why it's wrong? Stupid manna people want to eat the fruits of another's labour for free as if it is not written that the lazy will surely starve to death! Jesus never gave anyone any money, least not as far as I can recall. He gave the gift of using the senses, the greatest gift of all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5keJHZdWYM

Theistic evolutionists believe God created the physical universe and all life found within it, but that biological evolution is a natural process within that creation. Simply put, they believe the God of the Bible did not create man directly, but rather created the matter and then guided the process of traditional evolution. |
IamPlato:Why, "How You"? Me, buda, Intends To Quantify Intelligence into Measurements Of "how Much"? How much what? Intelligenes? Intels? It indeed will be funny, and a grave error on my part, in a thread specifically opposing the creation of graven images (muttley, remind us please!), and while I'm waiting for hakeem4 to let me know what he intends to measure a god with. Kindly show me where Plato. I will be misleading and that must be corrected. |
IamPlato:Pound is money, wisdom, learning, knowledge, intelligence, abilities, skill, goodwill, talents, logos, pound, soul, life etc. Some have at least defined it as such. |
Ihedinobi3:Pity you would not consider they might not be being dishonest but just not be as capable as you at seeing the evidence. Pitier is that you seem to place little value on that which is in you that makes God's existence obvious to you. There is, after all, a reason Christ went around curing blindness. My Lordreed. See that there is an equivalent to your view from the other side. |
Undercover! |
LordReed:What is it that you see my Lord that makes you say (ask) "they have the evidence", and that they "just refuse it"? How do they refuse what they have? |
Ranchhoddas:Thank you. A question. The unfaithful servant hid his master's wealth and put it not to profit. My hypothetical person just had a pound put in a vault every month and not where it would be stolen or eaten by moths. Where are they similar? One more question. Why should one use one's treasure and talents "for the benefit of others"? Let me shout this please, Why, Ranchhonddas should anyone use their talents for the benefit of others? Do those others include the lazy modafuqas yelling, "Crucify him"? Should one be the messiah? Pardon my shouting, its shock. |
EmperorHarry:No I hadn't heard of it, but I'm not surprised. I've always said creationism and big bang are myths. We learn in Egypt that however much you think you know it is just impossible that you know it all. Hear there arrogance: "By discovering how fast the cosmos was expanding, scientists were able to essentially apply their equation in reverse to trace everything back to the beginning." My Lord, are they not lying? Are they lying intentionally? What instrument did they use to measure the expansion of the universe? Doesn't it sound like the one hakeem wants to measure a god? I expect this to shift as much ground as Ptolemy did and Copenicus and Galilleo, and then some hundred years later its psychological effect takes hold. |
Empiree:Might read it someday, least, skim. Can't stand the insulting. That's why I go to the Islam section. Even tingz is civilised there. |
Michellekabod2:Funny enough, I do, a lot, just not in threads you're in perhaps. And, to be honest, some of them are the worst. I however hold you in higher esteem to think mantras mean nothing to you. So why would any particular one matter so much to you. Is it perhaps because you actually fear their threats despite your claim that that which they threaten you with does not exist? That would be odd I'd think, fearing things that don't exist like a typical theist. If Amen were "just mere words" you wouldn't have said Amen! |
mrvitalis:Here Tinubu's call for revolution, as reported by Soworesahara. Read and tell me whether its the same as Sowore's hooliganism! “This is done not by subterfuge, divide and rule and turning Nigeria in a field of discord or a street of broken institutions. “It is accomplished by honouring the principles of democratic good governance and economic justice. “It is done by persuading the people they are better off as one instead of better off tearing at one another’s throats. Nigerians should be prepared for change. “We must rescue Nigeria from those set to cause it irreparable harm. The change I talk about is the only route to our deliverance from 16 years of the PDP locusts.” |
Martinez39:Just trying to work out if "Afoja" pains him more than his joblessness 39. |
Ranchhoddas:Sounds like one is the fruit of the other. 'In as much as one does these things - "Love, kindness, humility and generally being virtuous" to those whom one sees, one has done these things - "piety, devotion and righteousness/holiness" to/for/by/ the Lord God Almighty whom one seest not'. How then is it treasure, and what is meant by storing it? |
Sowore perhaps knows he has to have been imprisoned. It is after all a qualification for President of Nigeria despite MKO showing its not the sole prerequisite. When he languishes in prison for a few years, though I hope bubu quickly releases him, we can come here and all shout "Sowore for President". For now, he's just some immature madaru who needs to learn a lesson. |
Ranchhoddas:So, "the real treasure" is "our life and our soul"? How does one lose one's life and one's soul, and where does one store one's life and soul so moths nor dust can't destroy it and where thieves cannot break in and steal it? |
