It's very disturbing that every talented Nigerian dramas of leaving this country to work elsewhere. No country ever grows like that.
Yes we do grow like that.

Those Qatar they are going to have the money to invest in modern infrastructure to build their societies and economies, and provide talented Nigerians leaving this country with the resource to practice and learn and bring back to develop Nigeria so we grow like that. It's not like Qatar is making them citizens, nor do talented Nigerians want to retire there.

Nigerians are leaving Nigeria to go get paid their worth and gain more experience which they will bring back to help develop Nigeria, like that.

FAT lies from the pit of hell. You are in Nigeria analysing what is in the UK. If not for the constant change of the UK law, I will still prefer to clean those oyibo Yansh, earn my pay weekly than return to Nigerian. 40hrs job salary is 3 months salary of some bankers in Nigeria.

A professor in Nigeria salary is 500k (£280) monthly. That is a 3 hours salary of a gardener.

If you want to Japa, please do and leave Nigeria you'll never regret it. The beginning might look tough, but when you stable and found your fit, everywhere becomes stew.
I think japa is for people who value themselves more. They think they are worth more so they japa to where they are valued more and paid more.

Unfortunately, low pay encourages low performance and mediocrity, which just drags societies down. You see it in the streets, no dirty, the first thing I bet japans see once they've japad. Then there's the pay for the value you are worth. Nothing beats pay according to one's ability, which is uncapped.

Found something better.

Some call it spirituality. I call it nothing. Started seeing a therapist a few years back. Best decision I made... At peace with my past, present, and now. grin
Currently on a marijuana break, after over a decade of religiously smoking.
You may call it nothing, but it must be something or you'd not call it a name. Besides, it doesn't seem only you found it since "some" call it.

So, what is it? Describe it to me please.

And why is your marijuana a break and not quit?
PoliticsRe: Japa And The New Slavery: Freedom Or Bondage? by budaatum:
There was a time if you went to school in the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun you'd start at Saint John's Primary School, after which you'd need to japa to the neighbouring town to modern school in Ilobu, and further education was to japa to further away Ilesha Grammar. I google mapped it at 50 miles, which you'd walk 11 hours after Sunday church once a month.

In those days, if Uni Ibadan was not your next japa destination, by which time you'd hopefully be able to bus, you'd japa to UK by ship to go study, and after fly home to work for the government because your country needed you.

Today, when you japa, to UK at least the smart, japa to school, during which some may indeed "clean toilets in Germany or working 16-hour shifts in a UK care home" only during weekends, and work much lighter during the week so as to face their priority study and go learn in the various libraries and museums that abound wherever they may live.

Such people don't clean toilets for long, nor get depressed, because they are far too busy developing their mind which empowers them to improve themselves and their lot.

Japa is like applying for further education, which Nigerians need, so I'm afraid I can't help but promote it though some may fail.

And on that note, Japan needs you. And if you are smart you'd find the way to make them pay you to come.

While we are on the subject, the Nigerian idea of marriage ........
I don't think all women submit to this so called "Nigerian idea of marriage", and accept you mean most.

I will not fully invest in a marriage to a person who can "discarded on a whim". In fact, while we are dating, you will have shown me you discard on a whim, like your broken slippers, food you did not finish, people or rubbish, and I will know you are a discarder on a whim, so I will not marry you.

Womens! Raise your hand if your "Nigerian idea of marriage" can discard you on a whim!

In Nigeria, the wife is an outsider. The traditional system of marriage makes this abundantly clear. I wish Nigerian women would realize and accept this fact already. sad
Will you make me sleep in the shed too?

The crisis didn’t begin on October 7th. For years, thousands of Palestinians have rotted in Israeli jails—snatched off the streets, detained without charge, treated as hostages in a full-blown apartheid system. If your memory only begins on October 7th, maybe that’s the day you were born.

Israel has never cared for UN resolutions or international law, it never has, and never will. Only when Iran landed a blow did they suddenly start to blink. That tells you everything.

And spare us the cognitive dissonance of equating banditry with genocide. We know the difference. Your gaslighting is weak, your argument is watery, and your moral compass is broken.
Should have read further to see you already have, thank you.

Israel’s war in Gaza amounts to genocide, the United Nations has formally assessed for the first time.

In a detailed 72-page report, the UN concludes that Israel is committing genocide as defined by the 1948 Genocide Convention and is waging its campaign with “intent” – a crucial element of the crime that is the hardest to prove.

“The Commission finds that Israel is responsible for the commission of genocide in Gaza,” said Navi Pillay, Chair of the UN Commission set up to investigate war crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories.

“It is clear that there is an intent to destroy the Palestinians in Gaza through acts that meet the criteria set forth in the Genocide Convention.”

Someone compile a list of everyone here who celebrated Charlie Kirk's death. And attach screenshots.

I've got enough time on my hands to forward them to the State Department.

Marco Rubio is looking forward to deporting you.
You might want to go deport the native Americans celebrating Charlie Kirk's death too, because you must not allow them to continue claiming born and bred, I should think.
