liveyourlife007:Your own empathy is very warm. I love the way you sit blindly wherever you are and claim to have an observation of someone you've never ever engaged with before. It must be due to the superpowers your own wealthy parents' brought you up with to insult other people's parents. I do take it to heart. May your power increase in strength and may you learn to use it better as you also learn to live your life. |
It comes after McLaren posted record annual losses of £924m in 2023, up from £349m the year prior. https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/uae-buys-mclaren-carmaker-suffers-163000704.html |

I have a question. When is the right time to plant habanero pepper in Nigeria? |
Very justified. One shouldn't start a marriage with dishonesty. |
I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to think the whole of Africa would just sit there and do nothing when Europe invades to steal our assets. Even Europeans would be on their own streets protesting the invasion of Africa, and some might even terrorise on our behalf along with our own terrorising. |
Yes it has always been on Nairaland. Happy Nairaland birthday.

IbeOkehie this is about healthcare and insurance. It reminds me how Nigeria was encouraged not to bother with industry when we began selling crude oil, because "you have enough money to buy whatever you want", and Dangote lamenting about the cabal trying to ruin his refinery. I apologise for the partisanship near the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQR67WRcVUg?si=sE6WRDJ3NUWi5NHL |
Gboom:Everybody should go school. If you hadn't gone to school you wouldn't be here calling me names in English. And I'm certain you'd buy school for your children when you have any, though, do tell me I am wrong so I can come and personally kick your ass for disadvantaging your children and populating my surrounding with ignorant stupid almanjeris. Still, I never said school, and I didn't even suggest there be books in the library I did propose, but internet access that even the poor can benefit from cheaply. And if your "solar streetlight and borehole" can be provided, that's good too, since we deserve all the good things that exist. They are all better than empowering a select few. |
A Nigerian professor at Greenwich University told me a Nigerian phd student submitted an AI generated thesis for his finals, and when told it was plagiarism and adviced to go and redo it he began begging. The professor told him the repercussions too but he insisted, not quite understanding the professor was not the only one who would review his work. Of course he failed. This new development will just end up devaluing our degrees. |
You poor hard men. I have zero sympathy for you, especially if your parents invest more in their male children than their females. Enlightened parents educate both their male and female children equally so they can all stand on their own feet. I, of course, have a bias.

Yemen is being attacked by Saudi Arabia from one end and will be attacked by Israel on the other, and I can't help but feel for the innocents caught in the middle. https://caat.org.uk/homepage/stop-arming-saudi-arabia/the-war-on-yemens-civilians/

Mine isn't down, however: "Over 22,000 people reported issues with Facebook this evening and over 18,000 struggled to use WhatsApp, according to outage-tracking site Downdetector". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c623jr6kxz2o

He empowered 60 people and expected the others to have no power and they showed him. Hopefully he's learnt next time to actually empower everyone instead of a select few. My suggestion is he funds a library with internet access in his constituency. He might even charge a small amount to fund and operate it. |
Pray4meJC:So, they ban you from their group. How does that become a whatsapp ban unless they have evidence? Its like being banned by Myndd44 on Nairaland with no evidence of a rule breach, but I guess he is much more judicious than your crypto airdrops wicked admins. |
Toktee:On the Civil Service Commission website or on some phishing page? https://www.ohcsf.gov.ng/post-employment_disclaimer Post where you applied please.
|
raumdeuter:This is just plain dumb but you'd never take my word for it. IbeOkehie, explain to raumdeuter how the company you buy shares in shares their profit with you please. He might understand it coming from you. |
Haakeem:Its the bold I wondered how stupid. |
Been using whatsapp from since when lifetime usage was a penny shy a pound and I've never come across this message, which makes me wonder what you've been up to.
|
IbeOkehie:Do you think what Mandela did is not similar to what Marie Curie did, or that what Martin Luther King did was for greed for profit? But of course you'd argue they were not chemists, or something equally ridiculous you'd try to hide behind an emoji, so here's some history for you so you can take more pride in your race. https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/what-we-do/blog/black-women-in-chemistry/
|
raumdeuter:Let me repeat myself in bold for you in case you did not see it the first time! budaatum: raumdeuter:I already do. Its called giving to charity and causes that concern me, and that does not include my Nigerian tax, which this year is record high. raumdeuter:Love the fact you quote Biden's 400 page speech. www.youtube.com/live/3qNcEsWMuKQ?si=HiSfRqlvfM7_uWqw Pity I think you can always be a better country, but then which country can't? |
IbeOkehie:I disagree! There is quite a lot of innovation that has been driven by the desire to improve the lot of the human race. Marie Curie, for instance, did not get sick from radioactivity because of greed for profit. Even NASA did not spend billions to go to the moon because of greed for profit, but for bragging rights. IbeOkehie:This, however, is somewhat true. If there is no investment, your money will just be worthless paper under your mattress or you'd consume it. IbeOkehie:Or c) buy their own shares to inflate their share price to increase the CEOs pay, as has been done by many companies lately. Ref: https://wolfstreet.com/2020/03/31/estimates-about-the-collapse-of-share-buybacks-begin-to-emerge/ IbeOkehie:The only reason Astra Zeneca would set its price of Kakabra @ $50,000 per treatment course is because individuals don't mostly need to pay for it because they have insurance. If individuals needed to pay for Kakabra @ $50,000 per treatment course, Astra Zeneca would sell less Kabara and make less profit! IbeOkehie:Do you not know that insurance companies will not pay Kakabra @ $50,000 per treatment course, but will negotiate a much lower price because they buy in bulk, and that this is them controlling price too? Insurance companies might even find ways to refuse to pay for Kakabra for some patients just as they refuse to pay you when you needed them to, which is another form of controlling their expenditure on Kakabra. IbeOkehie:Smart UK then, to let Astra Zeneca rob Peter in USA to pay for Paul's healthcare in UK. And stupid of Peter in USA for allowing their tax money to pay for Paul's healthcare in UK instead of their money paying for their own healthcare. Kind of proves the point, I suppose, that we are not asking for tax increases, but that tax money be spent right. Astra Zeneca, I bet you, would also ensure they pay less tax in USA than anywhere else, and thereby maximise their exploitation of Peter in the name of their profit, which some of us are here against. IbeOkehie:If you say USA citizens, I might be inclined to agree. Unfortunately, poor USA Peter dies because he is paying for UK Paul to live, and if I were racist, as in, only selfishly concerned about myself, then, yippee, but since I'm not, poor robbed dead Peter. USA is not subsidising anywheres healthcare system, in my opinion. They are just letting themselves be exploited by dodgy Astra Zeneca. Intelligent humans beings would innovate a healthcare system so they can not exploit America, but the selfish individualism and greed for profit in America would not encourage this I guess, just as many there oppose the feeding of poor kids and justified the use of unpaid labour of people with darker skin than their's. |
Its very nice of WHO to redlist us so our nurses are not stolen. I am only posting this to encourage it to frontpage, note.
|
raumdeuter:I already pay more than many, not being a low earner per se, and I will be mandated to pay more if and when my income increases, so your comment above is just silly. If you want to live in a good well functioning society, you'd accept that those who have more will necessarily pay more or you'd end with a country like Nigeria where we farm malaria in gutters outside our homes because we refuse to be progressive where tax is concerned and therefore can't afford cleaning. |
raumdeuter:No one is asking any insurance company to pay everyone 200k! And you saying the above just wants to make me give up on you. Next you be claiming we are asking insurance fraudsters to be paid 200k too. There are some serious calculations that go in to determining an individuals risk of needing to get paid insurance, and that risk is reflected in the premiums you are charged and is why a non-smoker pays less for health insurance than a smoker pays and is also why the smoker gets a lot less coverage too. Whatever you might think insurers are, stupid is not one of them. Refs: Scottish Widows: A Lesson In Statistics Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind |
IbeOkehie:You will need to provide evidence for the bold, because apart from American Bill Gates whom some say is selling mosquitoes in Nigeria, I don't see any country America subsidises their healthcare when they can't even subsidise that of their own citizens. IbeOkehie:You inconsistency is disturbing. If humans are naturally racist and "love their own kind more than others", how the heck would you go about explaining the lack of racism that, as you claim, makes America subsidise "all the worlds healthcare systems". Do Americans love other races than their own perhaps? IbeOkehie:I have gone to the bother of posting the definition of racism below so you can perhaps understand that not loving or spending as much on other people's children as much as I love and spend on my own children is not the same thing as racism. You hopefully would not claim I have an ism because I love my husband more than I love you, or love pounded yam more than ẹba.
|
raumdeuter:I think you'd find there isn't much difference in UK and USA income tax rates as it is, and I'd argue we get more for our UK tax than USA people get. "Taxing those who they believe are earning higher", is your own understanding of everyone's tax solution. You must have not heard the call for high earners to pay their fair amount of tax instead of evading tax.
|
raumdeuter:That's how insurance in meant to work, doh, or you'd not bother getting any and just pay for your own damage. |
