Brendaniel:Ahh. Fixed salary, lol. With Nigerian inflation running for decades at over 10%, I'd think only senseless people would hope to save up for a Lexus ES 330 2006. Because the more you run after a Lexus ES 330 2006 with your fixed salary, the further away the constant moving price of a Lexus ES 330 2006 will move away from you, as will the cost of maintaining it. Not wise, I'd think, to buy a Lexus ES 330 2006, when even the maintenance cost is not fixed. The wise would rather buy land and build a house to save on constantly growing rent, or invest it in educating oneself so one's salary is not fixed. |
Goodvibes007:I think you've convinced yourself that "politics is tribal", and are twisting the evidence to confirm your belief. If "the Indian PM" had ruled competently, and if the Brits were not tired of years of Conservative incompetence, I'm certain he'd have been elected. |
iwaeda:Yes. Inflation is affecting god, and god can not afford gari and bread. Seriously! Like your god gives a damn at the leaders you chose.
|
Meanwhile, Brits were also out yesterday telling Tommy to go do one.
|
Medipharm:Meaning, if you sell it today you'd make profit of 5.4m minus depreciation, which sounds good to me unless you are a consumer and not an investor. Imagine if you were one of those who bought 10 Lexus ES 330 2006 in January last year. You now be sitting on a cool 54m profit and would be praising agbado. |
Kushites:I wonder what you mean by "credibility of the Bible and Koran". Are you aware that Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart is a fabrication, which could be classed as lies and deceit that you can learn from? That's why I said read them yourself instead of believing what you've been told. You might learn the wisdom of using your own senses like Eve did instead of the ignorance of Adam which kept him in naked ignorant slavery, and you might see through the lie of humans being created from mud instead of in the image of their gods too, which would make you master of yourself instead of a slave seeking a master. It should at least make you less swift to insult. |
Kushites:Basically, you now want "you guys" or a "traditional priest" to brainwash you instead? Pity you haven't decided to wash your own brain yourself. If you did, you'd not "follow" and might end up directing yourself at least. My suggestion is, read the books (Bible and Quran to start with), yourself instead of going to church to stare at a white face. |
You (as in, we, collectively) had our opportunity to elect whoever we wanted and Tinubu won. Now we must wait till his turn is over before we can remove him if that is what we want. Hopefully, you'd open your eyes next time before exercising your democratic right.

Hamilton got outsmarted by Russell! Piastri literally lost it to his jack man. And Perez, as much as I like him, needs to go.

Can you share what you've found please so I may benefit from your research which is far more than mine which is currently none. It may also give others better ideas of what to recommend. I'd be grateful. |
Gboss247:First, know that I never said "Nigerians owning shares in NNPC thinking that it will make NNPC petrol cheaper". In fact, I think it will make petrol more expensive, since shareholders would want profit so they get paid dividends. The current 'shareholders' of NNPC is Nigerian citizens. And those shares can be said to be held in trust for Nigerians by the Federal Government who shares its dividends to the three levels of government where it is supposed to benefit Nigerians. If NNPC is sold, that benefit will stop, and accrue only to those who have the funds to purchase it's shares, and I doubt I need argue whom those people would be. "Tinubu through Oando and Co" would likely buy it and keep all the profit for themselves. |
FRANCISTOWN:As in, are those guys seeking eternal life engrossed in unproductive and useless efforts? No, not necessarily. As in, the effort itself is not unproductive and useless. I'd think of eternal life as a fairy tale we tell kids so they do what is good and right. Grownups should know better though, and should learn to do what is right for its own good and not for some imaginary reward in some imaginary eternal afterlife. Love your neighbour and Psalm 15 lists some of the things that one should put effort into to enable one dwell in the Lord's tabernacle where I'd imagine those who wish to live eternally hope to end up. And while I doubt there's any literal tabernacle of any Lord anywhere, you'd at least have peace of mind on this earth if you put effort into pursuing what is listed. We'd likely live longer and evolve quicker too. Post Christian nations have stopped with the eternal life nonsense, and are creating heaven on earth for while they live. While nations of believers still slave in their gardens of Eden because they fear nourishing themselves with knowledge will result in their death.
|
Mercisharelove:The person you quoted said, "You'd pay for your belief - as nothing is really free!" Adam paid for his belief. His payment was ignorance and slavery. Eve did not believe, and decided to check for herself. Her reward was freedom from slavery. The payment for believing is ignorance and poverty. And while the cost of acquiring knowledge is huge, its benefit is many fold. As for your so called "eternal life". Even Christ died and is now very dead, so I can't exactly see who lives eternally, but perhaps my eyes don't work as well as yours. |
bemeruca:Nigerians who elected him did not seem to mind. Personally, I hoped he would throw corrupt people in jail for 200 years like he did when he was head of state, but I did not reckon democracy would tie his hands if he wanted to. |
bemeruca:You must think Germans are stupid or generous, and can not imagine they would spend that amount of money because they derive benefit from the immigrants they welcome and spend it on settling. Labour-related immigration has a positive effect on production potential in two ways: firstly, immigration raises the number of workers and more goods and services can be produced. Secondly, ongoing studies have shown that migrants who come to find work are better qualified than national workers and consequently raise work productivity. |
bemeruca:They must want immigrants so much to spend that amount welcoming them. |
bemeruca:Nigerians not doing due diligence made me hope Nigerians elect buhari. If you vote with your eyes closed you deserve whatever suffer they dish you. |
bemeruca:Hungary people don't even want to live in Hungary, it seems. And Hungary is breaking EU Law. EU law states that everyone fleeing persecution in their home country has the right to ask for international protection, and cannot be removed to their home if there is a serious risk of death or torture. As for your "German is spending 4billion a year", do kindly post your source for context and so I can get a less maths is racist view. |
bemeruca:Lol Bem. Isn't that why we voters must do our due diligence? Some of us here are anti-dump just because our due diligence suggests we should be. He says he isn't going to Project25, but some of us do not believe him. Besides, Tinubu said he would continue where Buhari left off, which he didn't need to say since we already knew he likely would since they are of the same party, and since most cried through bubu's 8 years, I'd wonder why they think they'd rejoice now Tinubu has taken over. Labour Party is leftish, and more pro-immigrant than most parties here in UK, and anyone who does not know they are must not live here as a good friend of ours here reminds us constantly, or just hasn't done their research, or believed Keir Starmer when he said he would reduce immigration that we know we need. |
Gboss247:Unfortunately, NNPC, which I consider to be a national asset, going public would be bought up by those who have the money to buy it just as they did with those companies you listed. And personally, I think NNPC should be owned by all Nigerians as an entitlement and not just the entitlement of a wealthy few. But I did say we should be entitled to 10% just so you don't accuse me of a mentality. The rest can be listed on NGX. Oh. And for your information, I would not qualify for any part of that 10% and would have to purchase any I want on the NGX. |
bemeruca:Claiming Tommy Robinson is protesting for mass migration and illegal migration, is like claiming the klu klux klan is protesting for black people, and only ignorant people would make such claims. I was asked earlier today about my opinion about the protests being planned in Nigeria. Nigerians were given the opportunity to elect the leaders they wanted at the last election, which was our opportunity to protest. But we went with the same ruling party and now seem to have buyers remorse. The British public democratically chose a more pro-immigrant party at the last election and will not succumb to the desires of very minority Tommy. |
bemeruca:That's not how we do it here. Here, going out to protest against a group of people because of their race (and religion or colour or gender or sex) is frowned upon by the majority of us, and will attract opposition. And if you go out protesting against immigrants, immigrants will come out to confront you. Same as Ukraine wouldn't just sit at home if Russia invades them, and why Israel wouldn't turn the other cheek if Hamas kidnaps them or vice versa. |
CyrusVI: budaatum:I think you mistake me for someone who believes any of the unverified allegations made here when all I've said is "the "concocted lies" deserve some research", which is what you are doing here. I did not claim Wale Tinubu has interest in Raz Hansir. Tinubu's interest in Oando does however concern me if it does not align with Nigeria's interest. |
bemeruca:Corbyn the Palestinian supporter is pro-immigrant. |
Bemeruca, your favourite far righter is demonstrating in London and my favourite leftie is opposing him. https://news.sky.com/story/crowds-gather-in-central-london-for-rival-protests-led-by-tommy-robinson-and-ex-labour-leader-jeremy-corbyn-13185754

kkins25: IMAliyu:On the complexity of free speech. The thought a university would be fined is an absurd attempt to silence some. But then we must ask if yelling fire where there's none and where harm might be done needs silencing. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cv2gj1x11nmo

Salewa97:Obama too.
|
CyrusVI:No. My research source is not an "Anonymous" group on Twitter. All that an "Anonymous group on Twitter" has provided is what one should go research for oneself from "Verifiable/reliable news outlet", like, does Tinubu own Oando for instance, and what such ownership might imply.
|
CyrusVI:While I do agree with you, the "concocted lies" deserve some research.

This requires lots of effort to comprehend or make sense of just like most myths, but let me point out similarities with another religion. First class ORISA are those ORISA that were initially created after creation. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Second class ORISA are those ORISA that were born or made as a result of two ORISA joining forces together or joining forces with the classes of ORISA above them. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. But I of course just made that up because I thought it in my own head with my own mind, and the op makes no such claim. |
