I must admire their entrepreneurship, lol. |
Wisdomkosi:I do agree with this part. I also think NNPC should be sold to us Nigerians too. And no, I don't mean to the rich and wealthy alone. Say like 10% of the shares should be allocated to every living Nigerian with provision we can't sell for 10 years. Our vested interest might make us force NNPC to operate better. |
Mercisharelove:Enough to feed myself and my family and pay the school fees of some who can't afford theirs. The Gods have blessed the sweat of my brow. |
Mercisharelove:I must wonder why I'd need the "blood of CHRIST" when I can read about him in Scripture and learn and understand what he taught instead of just believing some crap that verification with my senses falsifies. Perhaps understand that surviving the 3 score and 10 is far more important than some imaginary eternal life. Its why Christ said something about one's neighbours here on earth instead of those supposedly living eternally. I've introduced 2 individuals to you. Hopefully, you'd give them the bread they have no money to purchase instead of your supposed free blood of Christ. |
Amujale:Good morning to you too Sir. That thread is unfortunately not one where much regard is shown for one another, and the division is so intense that we often don't even hear each others point, so the fact you have is highly commendable. Please know that buda is immensely humbled.

Sefannova:Have you taken advantage of the available student loan yet? I ask because you seem to have incurred expenditure (rent) before ensuring you have the revenue to pay for it, which is not exactly good business, and which an education might have helped you know to avoid so your current expenditure could have been saved up to buy equipment. Sefannova:Of course it might be that the shop is in the family and is rent free, in which case you have assets which you could have used to generate income to purchase the equipment you require. |
WhiteIverson:You never know, so should not so swiftly condemn as a hypocrite. |
ijebosb:While I'll willingly ignore you misspelling my moniker, I would rather you not misgender buda. budaatum:Thanks in advance. |
Amujale:https://www.tmz.com/2021/06/22/kamala-harris-nina-simone-estate-daughter-granddaughter-beef-will-trust/
|
Amujale:Not "control". "Control" implies Lisa decides what the trust's assets are used for, which is not the case, as the trust was set up for the specific purpose of educating African children. 'Manage', would be a more appropriate word, and she was 'found' to have mismanaged. |
Amujale:This view (bold) I don't share. Though I can be manipulated to agree with you. It is my view that the trust should be managed competently. Race, skin colour, etc should have nothing to do with who's chosen. But then, Yoruba me is Obidient, so there. |
Amujale:Now, this is a very different argument, and has moved us along somewhat. If Nina Simone's daughter was found to have been mismanaging the trust set up to educate African children, my position is she must rightfully be stripped of trusteeship. What's left to argue now is if she was mismanaging the trust or not. |
Amujale:It was not given to a recording studio! And there's no reason why the trust should have been handed to a family member when Nina herself had handed it over to Mariam Makeba, a non-family member.
|
Amujale:The only assets that Nina Simone's daughter was stripped of (managing) were her most prized assets which were willed to a trust. Kelly Simone was willed assets in her own right that she was never stripped of. |
Amujale:First, the most prized assets were not left to her daughter, so your "dispossess" is null and void, since you can't be disposed of what isn't yours. Second, her daughter mismanaged the trust and was rightfully stripped of managing the trust, regardless of her being African American. As to whom it was handed to to manage it, did you have someone else in mind? |
Amujale:No she did not will her assets to her only daughter! Come on man! Read below you even admitting it yourself. Or are the "most prized asset" not the bulk of her assets? Amujale:Read the below. It clearly states what was left to the daughter and what wasn't. budaatum:The fact they didn't exactly get along much might explain why Simone left her most prized assets to a trust for the education of kids and not to her own daughter. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/oct/05/lisa-simone-on-loving-and-fearing-her-mother-nina-on-my-16th-she-cursed-the-day-i-was-born |
Amujale:Its your interpretation of what you wrote that is of issue here. Willing most prized assets to a trust for the education of kids, is not, willed to the family to use as they wish. If Nina Simone's assets were willed to her family, the family can legally divert its proceeds for personal as they wish. But it wasn't willed to her family, it was willed to a trust for the education of kids. And if they diverted trust funds to personal use as they are accused of doing, they'd rightfully be stripped of trusteeship as they were. |
Amujale:Simone's most prized assets were never willed to the Simone family to begin with. They were willed to a trust for the education of kids. RéAnna Simone Kelly was found to have mismanaged the trust and was rightfully stripped of her trusteeship. |
Amujale:From the above, Nina Simone's "most prized asset" was left to the "charitable trust" that is "meant for the education of kids", and not willed to RéAnna Simone Kelly to treat as personal income. Or is it that you do not understand the difference? |
WhiteIverson:You likely do. After he donates to me anonymously, I can easily donate it to you nonymously. |
victory36:Tertiary education is post secondary school, and includes, in this day and age, "learn skills online and through apprenticeship". An apprentice mechanic, carpenter, tailor, plumber, coder, would not be waiting for government to create job for them and will never starve. The point is, learn wherever or die of hunger. |
Donate it to me. I promise not to tell anyone. |
Mercisharelove:Indeed I have, but I haven't come across anywhere where it is written he said God will feed you. I've in fact come across many who worship God and Christ crying hunger is killing them. And I do wonder why I'd bother waking up to go plant on my farm if the labourer is not rewarded for their effort. |
victory36:Jobs are never in place. Hopefully, the educated will be able to create jobs for themselves. As for "Tertiary education in Nigeria is a very big scam", lots of Nigerians are using their Nigerian Tertiary education to improve their lives, but I guess those are the one's who don't believe skool na scam or expect government to employ them.

Biodun556:Heard interest on these student loans will be an excruciating zero percent, which is far better than that nasty chap chap. https://x.com/NELFUND/status/1793771415423902052

idunse:I do wonder. Perhaps some fear the day when Tinubu's relatives buy Dangote Refinery too, and thereby rape a company they can not run and where they have not sown. |
God will provide manna so everyone can just sit on their ass and eat. It would defy reality, but hey, who cares except those who know the below is not a curse but a real fact of existence.
|
otipoju:There will indeed come a time when we will surely have to pay for the air we breath. A meter will be attached to peoples' noses to monitor their breathing so they can be charged accordingly through an app on their phones. Thankfully, people will not be powerless in this regard, as individuals can choose to cut down their breathing to reduce their bill. Instead of say a normal 12 to 18 breaths per minute, individuals can reduce to 6 to 9 breaths per minute and thereby cut their bill in half. Do note though that there will likely be a standing charge payable whether you breath or not. Hopefully, it wouldn't apply to under 18s, or it might significantly reduce the birth rate, which, while being good for birth rate reduction, might be onerous for parents who can't control their uncontrolled fuqing. |
