The reason I don't operate under such atmosphere is because I regularly and constantly eat the fruits of knowledge. That is what Christians refer to as accepting Christ into one's life. It means going to church and learning from reading the Bible, as church was the school and the bible was the widely made available textbook of the time.

We today have evolved from then as education too has. The Bible is no more the only textbook, and we do not only go to church to learn one day a week anymore because we must go till the ground. Instead we go to school 5 days a week to learn to use our brains. And we are obviously better off for it since we learnt not to eat only bread or we'd have become malnourished.

He made a big mistake by not first securing control over crude supply before going into downstream. My believe is that he felt he can get whatever he wants from whoever is in power in Nigeria. All he used to do before was walk into the villa and everything he wants will be delivered immediately. Sadly, this is even beyond the president as there is no enough crude to give him. If he still has small money left, he should quickly invest in some oil wells right away. Else, OYO na him case.

As I already said, and in agreement "I can't understand why he'd build such a huge refinery without first owning upstream to supply it". Its just not good business. Its even worse and more stupid if he "felt he can get whatever he wants from whoever is in power in Nigeria". If he truly felt that, my advice to him would be to shut the refinery down or just sell it to Nigerians to do with it what we may, because his business sense would need to be nil if he thought something as stupidly ridiculous as "he can get whatever he wants from whoever is in power in Nigeria" without considering the cost.

I think I just understand it different to how you understand it. Its after all a huge book that no one single individual can claim their understand is the only correct understanding unless they are actually ignorant. You just need read James and Paul disagreeing to know that, and that is precisely what makes the Bible the very good book it is.

Some may read it and decide they are created from mud to slave in the garden of Eden for pay that excludes the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. While some may read it and decide they are created in God's image to "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground" for pay that includes "every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it".

It is a choice that everyone who is programmed by the Bible religion needs to make. To either be a naked ignorant slave on reduced pay, or a ruler and subduer and fruitful multiplier and increaser on full pay.

Jesus would have fallen on the mountain had he not consumed the fruits of knowledge. And anyone who wants to subdue satan must equally eat as much as same fruit as he must have eaten.

What we Nigerians always seem to not want to accept is that the masses always bear the brunt of mismanagement of an economy.

Same way we think "by the sweat of our brow shall we eat" is a curse and not a fact of life I suppose. We must love deceiving ourselves.

Fact is, not only do we the Nigerian masses bear the brunt of the mismanagement of our economy, we the masses are also responsible for causing the brunt in the first place, and are responsible for alleviating and fixing the issues that make us cause that brunt.

We are a democracy you see. Government by we the people for us the people who bear the brunt of our own mismanagement or the pleasures of the proper management of our economy and our country. So we better start educating ourselves to wisely elect those amongst us who lead us.

Dangote's major market is Nigeria. Once out of Nigeria, he has to compete with the rest of the world and that is where competitors will kill him. To sell in Nigeria, he must sell at a price competitive with NNPC and that will be at a big loss. Dangote can't compete without the support of the government. Sadly, government is also in a very difficult position right now. We need forex to defend the Naira and meet import and loan obligations and we also want to give Dangote enough to help him stabilize. There is no easy decision to make in all of these.

I do not see why Dangote's major market must be Nigeria especially since there is no way Nigeria can consume what that refinery can produce when at full capacity. It is the largest this side of the world after all.

All he has to do is produce cheaper than others. And yes, I know that's simply said but almost impossible considering government would not only not support but even throw obstacles in his way.

Seriously. I can't understand why he'd build such a huge refinery without first owning upstream to supply it. Its like Shell not owning crude supply for its daily 404,000 barrels capacity Pernis plant in Netherland, which is stupid if one asked me, and which makes me wonder if Dangote Refinery wouldn't become another Nigerian white elephant
