ijebosb:And one has to 'play' along with the bullies for their bullying to be effective. It's after all not like we are in some play school ground where they can take my pencil or deprive me of my school dinner. |
ijebosb:See what I mean by how one holds one's self? You showed him you are not just "shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops" and his attitude changed lol. It doesn't stop the initial racism, mind, but it sure does dictate the future. Yes, the shock does get you first, and sometimes you don't unravel it till much later and often after it's too late to act. But once one has experience and obtains the privilege of a racism radar it becomes much quicker to spot. I dress down much, so it's very easy for those who judge by looks to mischaracterise me and think they can talk to me anyhow, especially when I'm in places where blacks are not often seen. I love watching the shock on faces as soon as I open my mouth. It's why I understand that we are not all treated the same way since we don't all have the same privileges. In fact, this reminds me of shopping. I'd go in a shop that sells expensive stuff and the shop keepers look at you like there's no way you can afford it. Then you bring out American Express and its all "yes ma, whatever you want sir". Was in Rome once buying rings for my partner and I and they almost wouldn't let us in the shop. But by the end we were using their shop floor as a dance stage and even asked them to play our music. Never did buy the rings from them in the end, which must have pissed them off. Saying that, I get the same in Nigeria. Some stupid idiot talks trash until they realise they are not on your level and then their attitude changes. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending how one sees it, status is not shown on Nairaland, so stupid idiots don't know their place. Thankfully, one can put them in their place by just not noticing them just as one wouldn't in real life. |
ijebosb:Please do not ever post such things again. It is not necessary for you to post such personal evidence here as no reasonable person would think you made it up, and the stupid idiots who have admitted their sole reason for being here is to troll would only troll you with it. Also, have you noticed how the winds have gone out of their sails now we are not paying them the attention they crave? They so hate not being the centre of one's attention. |
ijebosb:The above is the key point. If you knew how it worked, you'd have likely told him where to go. I've never been to USA, and don't particularly like the culture of the place. It's economically first world over there, but some things are just so backward. I lived and worked in Mexico City for a year and still never bothered. I'm scared someone might talk nonsense to me then shoot me when I talk back, which is not a fear I'd have in UK because no one has the right to carry. You just need to note how no one is trying to take over anyone's womb in UK like some are there to understand how far back USA is going. If it were up to me, 'God bless America' would become 'God save America', from its self. |
ijebosb:That is indeed America, where some are afraid of being replaced. It's probably because they are afraid of reaping the results of having replaced others themselves. People in America might not understand why the likes of Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon end up in jail so much. It's because, unlike America, we learn from our past and from that of other nations, and we generally stand up for our neighbours regardless of race or gender or tribe etc. I'd say London is like the crown jewel of cities and the last place to expect a brown/black foreigner to be mayor in. Yet here we are with Muslim Sadiq Khan as Mayor, and Hindu Sadiq Khan as Prime Minister of UK, and Muslim Humza Yousaf as First Minister of Scotland, and Zambia born Vaughan Gething as First Minister of Wales. And none of them are white. This, is indeed Great Britain. And all that's needed is a Muslim from Northern Nigeria to lead in Northern Ireland so I'd be able to say 'This is United Kingdom' too. We do not have the legacy of slavery and black oppression that USA has, so any official using the N word will immediately be disofficialised. It's even a crime to unofficially direct it's use to a person of colour (as some describe us).

ijebosb:What! Never ever heard of this before! I guess you haven't lived here and so don't know how things work (that's a dig ), though your girlfriend should have known if she lived here.If a platform staff on any train tells anyone here to step off because the train was full, they be asked how they can be on the train if it were full! Regardless, platform staff don't have any such authority, and the fact he asked why your girlfriend was with you is enough to get him sacked or at least reprimanded, if you had had the time to follow through that is. I can just imagine him saying that to a Jamaican or a Brit Black. He'd likely get punched in the face too. Racism is often not overt. But we Brits have our Racism Radars with which we detect it these days, and any whiff of it is opposed. |
Aemmyjah:Whatever built a sense of intelligence, consciousness, language in you most definitely did a sloppy job. The question was about software in an AI machine. An AI machine is a computer. You take the software that has been written and been placed on a physical medium to transport it, and you put it into the AI machine. But I guess the word "physical" is your problem here since you all seem to only use your naked senses to reason. |
bemeruca:Would love to tell you to stop being the stupid idiot you always have been but it would be a waste of time. |
ijebosb:A producer is a document police give you to go produce your documents at a station. And you did ask what I would do, which does depend on my knowledge and my ability and my status in life. I wasn't always this privileged, as you have seen, but I sure am now. Golly, if a racist bus driver in UK stops me getting on the bus today, I'd probably go stand in front of the bus so it can't move and we'd sort it out when the cops arrive. But to be honest with you, I doubt any bus driver would be so stupid as to not let a black person on a bus in UK just because of the colour of their skin. We don't have the situation you described where everyone in a small town including the police, would be so blatantly racist because we've had our Black Lives Matter decades ago and people have learnt not to be so racist. These days, other white folks on the bus and at the bus stop would raise a stink if it happened. |
Obrigardo:Pity. I was looking forward to watching MTG try to prosecute Mayorkas in the Senate. |
bemeruca:You can call me whatever you want as you do, and it would be water off the back of a duck, because as far as I am concerned you just are an irrelevant insignificant stupid toerag. What you wouldn't get is me bothering to let you waste my time for days on end, which is what I wish Ijebos wouldn't let you do to him. |
ijebosb:See my response to the stupid idiot, and here's another link about it. https://www.nairaland.com/4508641/american-politics-thread-2024-elections/2330#102302250 I disagree with your gaslighting that "it's your fault if you're the victim of racism", since I never said any such thing. But yes, I do indeed speak "from a place of privilege". 35-40 years ago, I was constantly stopped just for driving a Ford Gti, which was considered to be a high performance car that I was assumed to be too young (and black) to drive. One week alone I had 3 producers to present my insurance and license at a police station within 14 days so I did. I gave the cop the first one and he registered my documents, then I gave him the second and he registered my documents again, and then I gave him the third one, and even he was shocked I had three in such a short time, and he was pissed I hadn't given him all 3 in one go. It was the last producer I ever had. I was also once stopped for speeding though I wasn't speeding. It was an underpass on my way home from uni that I knew had cameras and I wasn't stupid. Cops checked my license and asked where I was from, so I gave my address, and was then asked where my parents were from "with a name like that", to wit I asked what my parents had to do with them stopping me. They then asked if they could search my car, and on finding nothing they said my tire had a gash on the side and was therefore defective and they gave me a fine with points on my license and 2 weeks to contest it if I would. So I wrote to the court what I've stated above, and that I'd brushed against the kerb on my way home and my tire fixer was just down the road where I was going to get my tire fixed as I didn't want to stop in the middle of a highway. At court, the judge asked me if I was guilty or not, and I said I wasn't, so he asked the police to present their case and the lawyer for the police said the policeman who stopped me had refused to appear in court to testify, so the case was thrown out. Numerous times after that police would follow me for a while and eventually drive off because when they radio in to check my details they discover I've had producers and I'm not someone they can easily push over, I eventually found. If I live in a small town where everyone is racist, then I would seriously need to check my head and ask why that's the town I choose to live and work in when I can very easily move my black ass elsewhere. But these days, one can sue for loss of earnings and mental health distress and for one's legal fees too, and I'm sure I can find an out of town lawyer to help me sue if I have evidence to prove the bus driver did not let me on the bus because of the colour of my skin, which I would have these days because the bus would likely have it's own CCTV showing the bus driver being racist, and the incentive for the lawyer is that he can sue for cost so it costs me nothing if I win. That racist cretin of 35 years ago outsmarted me and I learnt from it and have since placed myself in the privileged position I am now in such that never again ever since, you see. In fact, it's like your "you can't know a place if you haven't lived there", same as I wouldn't know what to do if I hadn't had the experience I had that taught me what to do. Fuq with me then, shame on you, but I'd be ashamed if I'm fuq with now. |
bemeruca:You maths is racist as usual. Here's a link to remind your stupid self. https://www.nairaland.com/4508641/american-politics-thread-2024-elections/2331#102308219 |
bobestman:He definitely does argue and behave like a kid. Can you believe he claims to be a lawyer, as if it's possible Nigeria can be that bad that his sort would qualify. https://www.nairaland.com/7824040/dont-deceived-lot-christians-today#125509509 |
ijebosb:How is it possible that I'd have no one to complain to when I can simply Twitter and Snapchat and Facebook and Youtube etc, and write to my local councillor and my Member of Parliament and the local news rag to show the whole world the racist bus driver letting the white folks on the bus and not me? I live in Blighty where the bus driver's racism can not stop me getting on the bus because I can very easily get him sacked so he doesn't drive the bus no more. And if he isn't sacked, I can sue the racist person in town and the bus company itself and cost them all money they'd rather not spend. The bus driver would after all have had to sign the mandatory equality policy of the bus company when he was hired, so why the heck would he be that stupid unless he intends to not be driving the bus the very next day? Here in UK, even the white folks he let on the bus would protest on my behalf, and I bet I can get my white friends in USA to protest on my behalf too if my own black protests are not enough, because everyone in town and at the bus stop can not all be racist, and even if that don't work I'm certain I can very easily NAACP and ACLU his racist ass and just Rosa Park the bus company too. There's laws you see, and the colour of my skin does not bar me from using the courts and my brain, and that's what I mean by "how I hold myself". As Fela would say, gbami leti kín di olowo please. |
Obrigardo:He's been a right laugh. https://twitter.com/MikeCrispiNJ/status/1772764447901102411 Time to start trading it's volatility, though I do plan to just watch.

ijebosb:I happen to think Biden sat in his bunker and refused to go low with dump, which I appreciated a lot. But that's a matter of opinion I suppose, so we'd have to agree to differ. He isn't bunkering now though, and that bothers me somewhat. I just hope Biden refuses to debate him this time round, as the pig would only revel in the publicity. |
ijebosb:Read my response to your bag grabbers. People may be racist to you but your response determines their success. |
PotatoSalad:You'd find this supportive, I think. https://www.nairaland.com/8064253/nigeria-burns-foreign-reserves-support |
ValarDoharis:Life is only short for the ignorants who would not learn because their ignorance kills them. While we might not need to invent the wheel, we still need to learn the history of the wheel, and how the wheel evolved into the wheel that exists today, and how to make our own wheel and how and what to use our wheel for, and if we don't start learning now and just continue claiming the winner is the fittest rigger, then our suffer head will indeed be long though our lifes would be brutal and painful and short. I mean, just see me since Shagari, and I bet they were yelling rigged in the first general election in Nigeria in 1923 when the Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) won three of the four elected seats in the Legislative Council, and you might understand how long we have been mediocre at following our own laws. Golly, we haven't even learnt to obediently follow our simple traffic rules and laws yet, so that should show you how much more learning we still need to do. |
Difrent:So, it's Igbos talking Yoruba saying ebi n'pa wà, according to you, when I see my own Yoruba people in my own Osun State crying upandan? O Lords Gods. Please get off your asses and exist to heal us Nigerians of our ignorant tribalism which is our greatest problem and the barrier to our success and the reason we are starving. Insha'Allah Àṣẹ Amen. |
Meteng:You have a good heart and seem like a good person. I like you. Thank you Gerrard59 for the read. |
ValarDoharis:I've been hearing this same rigged nonsense since the election of Shagari, and to me it sounds like the idle wailing of the losers. (And yes, rigging happens a lot in our elections!) Chinua Achebe wrote that, "the hunter has learnt to shoot without missing, so the bird must learn to fly without perching", instead of wailing that the hunter shoots too well. My Awolowo lost then, and my Obi lost now, and if he continues claiming he lost because others rigged, he will never ever win like my Awolowo never won. |
ValarDoharis:We've practised democracy for less than 30 years, so I don't expect us to be perfect at it yet because I am aware how little we know and how mediocre we can be and how much more we need to learn to be competent at choosing who leads us. This government, is a government of we the people by we the people. We conducted an election amongst ourselves to choose from amongst us who shall rule us, and even if we chose by rigging, it just shows how incompetent we are. Now, if you think I am lenient on us, it's because I am being considerate of us. When we have failed a bit more and chosen (or rigged) into power those who disappoint us a lot more, we would learn to not be mediocre in the conduct of our elections and in our choices. My hope is that it's well before 2123. |
ValarDoharis:Do you seriously think I am going to waste my time with this again?
|
ValarDoharis:Why do you so lack understanding? Are you even trying at all or do you just want to show you've quoted buda? Does the below from my previous which you quoted not suggest to you when I'd start celebrating if celebrating is what I'd do? "Now, if this government goes just one step further and scraps Youth Service, which is a subsidy of labour for employers, this government would have made my day". https://www.nairaland.com/8063900/should-obidients-group-banned-fg#129479107 Please quote me if you must but do bother to try to understanding what you read before accusing me of your own mediocrity, because my words are very carefully chosen to spot mediocrity in others so my time is not wasted. |
crossbreedwears:You don't know who I hate or don't hate, but perhaps your own heart is full of hatred so you can't understand what I meant. I don't believe the Nigerian Police can be reorientated even by instituting a new institution, because once you put Nigerians in the newly reoriented institution we will reorient it back to what it was because the flaw in our police is in us Nigerians. Now, if you tell me he is going to reorient Nigerians so we have new hearts to the ones we have, I'd be more willing to believe him. He'd need to start with our education system of course, but I have not seen him say that yet, so sorry, I just can't see it. |
ValarDoharis:Perhaps it's you who should "Chai...don't be gullible" and notice I wrote "their attempt to remove", which implies a lack of success. |
TenQ:Does someone not need to create the software in your AI machine? Do you not get something handed to you when you purchase software? |
StillDtruth:You are the very definition of a brainless fool, and the response you deserve is below.
|
TenQ:I guess it's hard for you to understand that you must physically write the software for it to exist instead of just dreaming it in your head, so you have a nice day too. |
