DaHighLife: Indeed. The fact that I can reasonably suspect that tribalism motivated moderators to ban somebody, combined with my inability to deactivate my account, more than validates my decision. Bias is everywhere I'm afraid. It's politics after all. Thankfully, the last US election showed more are biased against dump than Biden, and I'm hoping it's repeated at the elections in November too.

Konquest: The stats here on this thread clearly show that Nigeria is indeed a real underachiever when it comes to expanding the commodities value chains for localized consumption and export to the huge Nigerian Diaspora population.
The Ghanaians have mastered the art of TQM and this is why Ghana yams are widely exported in raw form to the UK and the U.S. We are so bad that our Ipekere in UK is claimed to be made in Chile.

This is unrelated to Lemmon and Musk (except the South Africa connection), but I just don't know where to put it yet I guess. https://x.com/cardiffprods/status/1768629201240748113?s=20Whites Only: Ade’s Extremist Adventure
The Nigerian British journalist Ade Adepitan is impressively open-minded and curious when he becomes the first Black person to spend a week in Orania, a “whites-only” town in South Africa. Orania occupies a strange position in the country – despite regularly being viewed as an attempt to revive or preserve the poisonous ideas underpinning apartheid, it is largely ignored by the South African authorities. As Adepitan speaks to local people, visits a school (where he watches an excruciating play) and gets kicked out of the community’s largest Afrikaner Protestant church, he asks the necessary but uncomfortable questions – and the hostility becomes increasingly palpable.

DaHighLife: IjeBos takes a more high-minded and idealistic approach to this, but he's not necessarily wrong. The implementation of the moderation policy seems inconsistent and capricious. And I agreed with Ijebos that the implementation of the moderation policy is inconsistent and capricious, and I gave an example of me reporting a person who called him an "n" without getting banned and he getting banned for calling someone an idiot, and myself getting banned for bullying a bully. But I guess I'm not idealistic like he is, since I can not deny what is actually real. DaHighLife: I'm at a loss to explain how a moderator would intervene in this thread solely to address one person's use of the word "idiot" while disregarding others' use of the same term and even harsher language, including tribal slurs. Don't be at a loss. We have found that Tinubu supporting mods would ban Obi supporters and vice versa. So yes, bias here is undeniable. DaHighLife: What troubles me further is that Bemeruca is evidently Benalvino3 and continues to post here. It seems everyone, including the moderators, is aware of this. How is it possible that despite using an embedded link to potentially phish for users' IP addresses and admitting to such behavior in the past, along with other things like admitting to identifying users' web browsers and phone numbers, Bemeruca and all his other known aliases have not faced even a temporary vacation? It's deeply disturbing that the moderators appear either unable or unwilling to safeguard the safety of users on this platform. Its a sad fact about this place that some have multiple monickers and don't mind losing them, unlike some who stick to one monicker because their reputation matters to them. It's also a fact that some users here are far more knowledgeable than the mods whom they can very easily outsmart. DaHighLife: If the moderators are unwilling to moderate effectively, it might be better to leave the platform unmoderated so that users are aware of the risks they're facing. The mods are tired of playing whackamole because they can't win, which is the reason I pleaded with Ijebos, and you I think, not to bother stooping to maga level unless you don't mind getting magadirty. There's after all a vast audience reading your comments and learning from your posts even if the maga you are responding to isn't. DaHighLife: However, I've seen enough. Best of luck. Edit: To top it off, it appears Nairaland won't even allow me to deactivate my account Lol that you are not allowed to leave, lol. |

CodeTemplar: don't mind some numbskulls. Yams grow well beyond what they are used to. The fact that rain pattern interrupts yam growth in their states and that they are the largest producer has made them conclude that's how yams grow worldwide. Same giant of Africa mentality is what is affecting the one prating with me on Import Substitution.
Let me shock them further. Yams grow better when your propagate them from yam leaves. Trust me when I say I don't mind them. When I go around my farm planting pawpaw, my people ask me if I am mad, that no one plants pawpaw, that pawpaw just lalewus (sprouts from the ground by itself). Then my pawpaw grows and they tell me I must have used juju. |

Valoromega: My wife just recently gave birth to a baby girl, I'm thinking of doing a secret DNA test without my wife finding out.
I find it really hard trusting women even though I'm married, I always think anything can happen.
So far I haven't caught my wife or have any reason to suspect her, but I still want to do it to be on the safer side. And I plan to do it for all my kids before they turn a year old.
I'm i wrong for doing this? You are wrong for marrying a wife you do not trust. Not only will you not trust her children are yours, you'd in time be doing DNA on any money she spends and where she goes and whom she talks to and how she walks and what she wears and how she cooks for your family. Better is you do DNA on your trust issues. |

He described his detention by the police as illegal, oppressive and a brazen abuse of power.
SaharaReporters reported on Friday that Justice Olatokun of the High Court in Ikeja had ordered the immediate release of Ayotunde.
This was confirmed to SaharaReporters in a video by his lawyer, Adesina Ogunlana.
However, the police refused to comply with the order. Nigerians really need to be suing police more for wrongful detention. |
