raumdeuter:Basilico still believes Tucker's own hype long after they've been shown to be the lies. His termination is likely part of Fox's settlement with Dominion. Dominion would have asked for a humiliating live mia culpa and a cease and desist from those at Fox who pushed the election steal the most, and Tucker wouldn't likely have bowed to that request. We'll in the end see who does. Some need their wages more than some. As for Lemon, good riddance. If not for news for comparison to other news sites, CNN too. |

Some research. Nigeria's NNPC spent $10 billion on fuel subsidy in 2022 Here is why Nigeria needs to remove petrol subsidy Fuel subsidy reform and the social contract in Nigeria: A micro-economic analysis☆ Nigeria Secures $800 Million Ahead of Fuel Subsidy Removal
|
oz4real83:Very good question. All fuel subsidy increases have gone to satisfy price increases. I'll explain. Say I go market go buy oil for fuel subsidy paying Nigeria. Fuel seller say $100. I pay knowing part of my payment is subsidised, and my profit is protected. Soon time I come and fuel seller say $200. Haba, I say, then pay since part of my payment is subsidised and my profit is protected. After all, if Nigeria don't subsidise, chickena, I say, and go sell something else, until Nigeria subsidises, because petrol is like oxygen, and Nigerian humans can't exactly reduce how much they breath or drive, and Nigerian governments can't exactly stand by and watch Nigeria's asphyxiate. Soon time I will go market and ask fuel seller to write receipt for $100000 for fuel I never even bought. Don't worry, I say, we share 50-50 and you keep your fuel. Nigeria will subsidise. And in order for the weak Nigerian governments to not asphyxiate Nigerians driving, Nigeria increases its subsidy. But that is the answer to where subsidy goes, and not the answer to your wise question, because .......
Nigerians are suffering because this administration failed to either build new refineries or rehabilitate the old ones, even if "fuel subsidy " is "removed" again, without building new refineries or rehabilitating the old ones, the same suffering will continue.
....... Your's, in bold, "Nigerians are suffering", is the answer. The new subsidy, along with all subsidises, come from money that might have otherwise paid to upgrade and equip our schools and our hospitals and our transport system and our abilities to be fruitful and increase in number and rule Nigeria with the sweat off our own brows so that we do not suffer. Instead, some feed off the sweat of our brows what should have been invested in us Nigerians, hence we suffer. And we shall suffer more to remove it, no doubt. Fuel subsidy removal will cause the price of petrol to significantly rise because fuel sellers will increase price to replace their lost subsidy. Increase in price will attract new comers into the market to compete in a now more fairer playing ground since some are not receiving subsidy that some aren't. Competition will increase supply and decrease price, eventually, after we sweat some. "Rehabilitating the old ones" though, is like rehabilitating a Peugeot 404. Groovy vintage, but there's better cheaper more efficient refineries out there. |
We should afford to let this happen really, since fuel subsidy only gives us as much fuel as the government wants to subsidise, which starves us of energy. Market determined fuel prices will increase fuel in the country as more jump in to make profit, and as more jump in more fuel is produced and it's price drops. Will take a while, of course, and a while of lots of pain, but things are far too cheap in Nigeria, I mean, 30k minimum wage? That's far too cheap for your labour. After scrapping fuel subsidy, scrap NYSC too and let people earn what they are worth! Oh! And thank you Dangote Refinery. May you be operational soon. Op, consider retitling to Why Aren't Nigerians Talking About Fuel Subsidy Removal? |
Obrigardo:More like 6 minutes, lol.

KnownUnknown:Arbitrary, how? Are you suggesting one can arbitrarily [not] use one's senses and then spin properly? Like basically see a table and spin a donkey? Perhaps think of spinning as farming. Just as there are criterias for proper farming so are there criteria for proper spinning. Hence the grown adult becoming as a child, reflecting on its criteria to make it spin less arbitrary after becoming aware it has senses and has learnt to use them which is not arbitrary at all. |
KnownUnknown:Spin is not so much "required", but a thing humans do. We see according to our ability to look so will spin (understand, think, reason) differently and according to our ability to spin. KnownUnknown:"Literal interpretation" is your spin (understanding) on my spin (understanding) as given. Nothing of what I wrote is literal, and it is definitely not an interpretation, since it is my spin. As in, my understanding, at best. Personally, reading the Bible or any book literally is stupid because it is not possible to know what the writer might have literally meant. The best you can have is your own understanding (spin) of what you read. |
clockwisereport:You don't expect me to post a list do you, or a list of what my cousin sends me where I am? My leg is pulled. |
Keegan:They'd sure be better than my 1m pen I guess. Lol . |
KnownUnknown:My spin. My answer, yes. KnownUnknown:Unknown, you asked for my spin and not what is "very clear" to you. There is no rule that says you must very clearly see what I see, please note. KnownUnknown:When an adult becomes as a child and questions with the gullibility of a child as deep as one's own life, one might discover some beliefs or philosophies or ideologies or thinkings that make one live as one would rather not live and which one might dislike and hate. Reflection might have that effect on some. KnownUnknown:First, my spin is not what is meant! My spin is my own understanding gained by using my own heart and soul and mind and being and time to ask and knock and seek and think and understand and reason for myself. Hence, my spin. As in, what I have come to understand. I do not in any way expect nor ask that it be any one else's spin or understanding since everyone can spin their own spin just as they bear their own crosses. KnownUnknown:Jesus is written to have given an example from his time. "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy", was an ancient belief. KnownUnknown:Many ancient beliefs in Jesus time were not exactly inherently good. I mean, hating one's enemy was definitely not good then just as it's not good now. So yes, abandoning some ancient beliefs for Jesus beliefs was good. But much better, or gooder so to speak, was his making people aware they have senses and him teaching how to use them. KnownUnknown:"Jesus beliefs" is a spin that I lack understanding of because Jesus neither had beliefs nor taught beliefs, in my spin. My spin would be "Jesus' teachings". And yes they are ancient, but many are yet to learn them. |
KnownUnknown:Some live their lifes through their religion and their beliefs, while some live their lifes by how they reason and think or not. "Living philosophies is my spin to broaden "religion" to include beliefs and thinkings and reasonings and unthinkings and unreasonings etc by which life is lived. "Akin to being gullible" is your spin. And I am willing to accept it as true. But what does this gullibility make the child do but question all things, at least until we beat shutup into poor child in Nigeria? That questioning that the child's gullibility encourages is what is understood by me here. KnownUnknown:Your spin. My spin would be, gullibility attracts religion. Religion being the first lesson in curing gullibility. KnownUnknown:Most promotions to higher levels of most education systems would start with "forget everything you have learnt to date", also, many starts in professional (accountant, engineer and likes) orient with "forget all you learnt at uni". Both are forms of "be like a child". It is also used by swindlers too, who would ask that one suspend the use of one's own senses and believe some crap, but that would only work on those who have not learnt from the writings of Jesus, I'd think. Most, it is useful in one's personal daily living to not let one's preconceived notions and ideas and beliefs get in the way of seeing I've found, hence my spin. KnownUnknown:"Unless", Unknown? Please know that almost just about every word buda writes is buda's spin. It is the disease one catches from using one's own heart and soul and mind and being and time to ask and knock and seek and think and understand and reason for oneself. One spins. Of course, we may have different spins on "use", and "adult", but in order to use one's senses, one must first become aware that senses exist then one must commit to learning to use those discovered senses, and I have not myself come across many non-adults who know they have senses not to talk of committing to learning how to use them. Have you? In fact, I have come across many adults who are unaware senses exist, and wouldn't talk of them having senses, and definitely haven't committed to learning the use of senses. So yes, a significant number of years must have passed in the life of an individual for it to have grown from child to adult and for it to be asked to become as a child with the child's gullibility that makes children question all things so they cure their gullibility (and ignorance) through the use of their own senses, so my spin is the use of the senses sure do require being an adult, or at least, mature. |
KnownUnknown:I have given my spin on the question. It includes the preamble because no single verse about Jesus can be understood in isolation but in the context of all that is written about Jesus, and more. But if you lack understanding of my spin including my so called "preamble", questions are very welcome in this platform I have humbly created for you. |
Black Lives are mattering, finally, in Calvin

I have to send my cousin a pack of 50 1.0m black bics every so often. He prefers them to the 0.5m made in Nigeria.

KnownUnknown:Some body of knowledge requiring one "be as a child" is religion, and living philosophy, where, by the time most are adults they have already accepted all sorts of nonsense to believe. When one becomes as a child, one starts looking at those beliefs and philosophies through the unpolluted biased un-preconceived view of a child. It may also apply in the Nigerian education system where all sorts of nonsense are learnt and that might need to be abandoned if one were to go learning in another nation. It is also useful in life for a grown adult to suspend their preconceived notions and beliefs so as to see clearly what may be before them. Many learn that Jesus died to save them, and many continue to believe this as adults. An adult who becomes as a child would question why and how and what for and when, and even if it's true or not, and what the heck it means to be saved, and what is Jesus etc. Becoming as a child simply means (to me since my spin), that after one has become an adult and aware and capable of the use of one's senses, now go back and check all you've learnt to see for yourself if it is valid or invalid. |
KnownUnknown:I do not assume you write mindlessly. I assume everything you write is on purpose, and I am giving my own spin based on my own understanding. Do ask questions if further clarification is required. |
KnownUnknown:To learn what I am about to teach you crowd, you must abandon all you've been taught and look at things with fresh eyes and mind (be one's as a child). And in the end you will hate the ancient thinkings (beliefs) of your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters. You are being described, Unknown. Having accepted the open eye teachings of Christ (though you are not aware of that fact), you now hate those who mindlessly believe in Christ. Now one just need learn to love them all again, including enemies, for most often they know not the harm their ignorance does. Do note, "Your spin". I figured a thread is deserved. |
Ibime:si has to lie to si to convince si of si's lies. Just that si thinks si can convince you to to be brainlessly si too. si is stupid idiot. |
oteneaaron:And ten, I meant. Three score and ten. Permission to go edit? |
Jokanem:Actually, Jesus died because ignorant stupid people were yelling kill him! kill him! If he'd lived he'd likely have taught how not to sin at all so forgiveness is not needed and how to live a long and fruitful life. Instead mere mortals dream of endless life. Thankfully, he taught enough to concern many with their three score and oteneaaron:Edited to correct.
