DissTroy:
The rational Igbos can't even think of formulating the Critical Tribe Theory because, while tribalism affects them sociopolitically, it is just one of the issues affecting them.

Tribalism isn't the reason why most of the publicized cases of arrested Nigerian drug dealers are Igbos. Viewing that from a tribal POV is silly. It's an issue which is exclusive of tribalism and which the Igbos have to address amongst themselves.
Critical Tribe Theory does not mean only looking at tribe. It is looking at all things specifically affecting a tribe.

If "most of the publicized cases of arrested Nigerian drug dealers are Igbos", unless you want to claim drug dealing is in the genes of Igbos, tribe is precisely one of the views an intelligent person would consider, like why is one tribe out of the many, arrested for drug dealing than other tribes. The publishers might after all be covering up the drug dealing of other tribes or be lying about Igbos, and we would wish to know.

I bet there's lots of people claiming Igbos are not sufficiently in positions of power because of inherent tribalism against them. And we can only find out if it is silly by looking at it critically.

You are playing around syntax but left the substance about the belief of scientists that all the laws of nature will remain same for scientific observations and principles to keep working. You haven’t convinced me otherwise.
I don't need to convince you, Nothing, I just need to correct your misconceptions so you don't mislead others.

Scientists do not believe "all the laws of nature will remain same". Experience will show them that 'laws' are tentative and ever changing due to further discovery. An example is the laws of Newton being superseded by Einstein. Its why scientists can't believe. They know further evidence may prove their belief to be false.

Nothingserious:
It may also interest you to know there are really no scientific proofs for scientific laws. Those are also based on assumptions that they are all true and valid. You may object to that if you wish to. Unless you present empirical objections, my claim remains valid.
I don't think you believe this, but maybe your cup floats when you drop it. Do let me know once you've scientifically checked.

Nothingserious:
Additionally scientists conduct experiments and come up with various outcomes.
If they perform the exact same experiment and come up with various outcomes, they can't claim a law.

Basically, if you and I perform the experiment of drop cup, and mine drops while your's floats, we will conduct further science to see why instead of us forming a law.

Nothingserious:
They further make philosophical decisions on what to discard and what to uphold based on prior expectation from financiers, the scientists worldview and the scientists’ convictions.
This last statement is just to show why you are antiscience.

Do know that not all scientists agree with each other. That's why they need experiments to be repeatable. Basically, if you drop a cup and it floats, and I drop a cup under the same conditions and it too floats, only then can we come up with a floating cup law, worldview and philosophy, and even then there'll be your sort constantly resisting and trying to disprove our floating cups philosophy wrong and false.

There's immense work still going on attempting to prove Einstein wrong.

So many things affect the economic position of a person. They include education, environment, bequeathed wealth, financial intelligence,..., and, maybe, race. But to examine the economic position from ONLY a racial point of view is flawed in itself. It's limiting the scope of the problem or issue.
CRT looks at how black people's education, environment, wealth, economic position etc is affected by the racial prejudice of others, which you have admitted exists. If they can shoot at people because they are black, they can definitely disadvantage them in other ways too, and only those wishing to take advantage of you would rather you don't critically view it.

Its like Igbo people adopting Critical Tribe Theory to analyse their supposed marginalisation in Nigeria. It would be stupid to say the scope of their problem is tribe, or that tribe is their only viewpoint.

Now this is typical whataboutism, Budaatum. They examined all issues affecting black people in the areas of gender, economics, education, etc but "from a racial prism".
Assuming you are correct, I hope you now see that in order to "examine all issues affecting black people in the areas of gender, economics, education, etc", they must examine all issues like "gender, economics, education, etc".

And no, I am not fooled by your "from a racial prism". Your q prism is not one I share.

The definition of CRT with links and authors which I have always posted and which we have debated have always had the clause "...from a racial point of view" or "from a race-based point of view".
That does not mean they shut their eyes to other points of views of gender, economics, etc. You'd know this if you understood CRT's origins in the social sciences.

You didn’t deny the fact that science is hinged on presuppositions ( faith and belief) that the conditions in nature that allow scientific observations will remain same for same laws to exist.
"Presuppositions", are not "faith and belief".

You don't have "presuppositions about God, and you obviously do not have "faith and belief" in science.

Please do correct me if I am wrong about you.

You know nothing. If you are dumb enough not to realise, viewing everything from one perspective - race - is a flawed view.

If CRT were really analysed independently as a research work, it would fail to see the light of the day.
I guess you would never realise that you are the one seeing CRT from the one single perspective of race. If you knew anything about it apart from what q tells you, you'd realise that it isn't an independent critique because it does not independently occur in society. And if you understood its origins alone you would realise it is part of a whole lot of associated Marxist seeings.

It might be race-induced; it might be other forms of prejudice like social class difference; it might be just pure hatred. But to examine everything, including conversations, admissions, economic might and more from a strictly racial prism is a one-track approach to solving the problems.
You obviously know little about CRT if you don't know it's just one subsection of Critical Theory itself.

You didn’t say how many years are in between Genesis 1:1 and verse 2. So you are wrong in your calculations and assumptions about the age you quoted earlier. Maybe you can still comment on that.
I have quoted no "calculations and assumptions about the age" between Gen 1:1 and 2, nor does the Bible give any. You may wish to oblige me however.

Nothingserious:
Scientific tests and theories are all hinged on the fact that the universe is rationally intelligible to allow certain observations performed on the physical matter with the conditions remaining same any time the tests are done.
Once any of the conditions in the universe is tilted, the laws would come out differently. Science has no power to set those conditions or their continuous stability or permanence but would continue observing nature and hoping all the conditions are same tomorrow as they are today. That’s some kind of faith and belief.
You say science is "hinged on the fact that the universe is rationally intelligible to allow certain observations", yet you claim scientists "would continue observing nature and hoping all the conditions are same". Are you somehow claiming scientists ignore the changing conditions or outright close their eyes so as not to see the conditions changing?

A person who does what you claim is no scientist at all, because they are willfully blinding themselves instead of opening their eyes and using all their senses to ask and knock and seek, which is what science is.

Nothingserious:
Science has not said anything to make us think Genesis accounts are primitive. Maybe you are saying it in the name of science. Of course you aren’t science.
Science does not talk. It is humans who speak, some after using their heart and soul and mind and being to ask and knock and seek.

Do these guys think at all? Imagine calling Borno a Niger Delta state! Let's scrap the senate and replace it with Nairaland because many Nairalanders actually think better than the so-called senators.

If you support my motion, say hi. Otherwise, say ho.
Borno is not asking to be part of Delta! It is asking that the same privileges that the Niger Development Commission gives to Delta be given to his state Borno.

You don't think at all. Good thing is democracy, and in order to win "scrap the senate" you need the votes. So go back and like the original post please reader and vote the op a like. Let's get him a 1000. Then read the NDDC mandate and let me know if it would not be beneficial to your own state.

This is one of the best ideas I've heard read out at the senate. In the end, they'd mandate for every state. Unless someone wishes to claim Delta hasn't somewhat improved since 2000.

Ho!

The NDDC mandate:

Formulation of policies and guidelines for the development of the Niger Delta area.

Conception, planning and implementation, in accordance with set rules and regulations, of projects and programs for sustainable development of the Niger Delta area in the field of transportation including roads, jetties and waterways, health, employment, industrialization, agriculture and fisheries, housing and urban development, water supply, electricity and telecommunications.

Surveying the Niger Delta in order to ascertain measures necessary to promote its physical and socio-economic development.

Preparing master plans and schemes designed to promote the physical development of the Niger Delta region and the estimation of the member states of the commission.

Implementation of all the measures approved for the development of the Niger Delta region by the Federal Government and the states of the commission.

Identify factors inhibiting the development of the Niger Delta region and assisting the member states in the formulation and implementation of policies to ensure sound and efficient management of the resources of the Niger Delta region.

Assessing and reporting on any project being funded or carried out in the region by oil and gas companies and any other company, including non-governmental organizations, as well as ensuring that funds released for such projects are properly utilized.

Tackling ecological and environmental problems that arise from the exploration of oil mineral in the Niger Delta region and advising the Federal Government and the member states on the prevention and control of oil spillages, gas flaring and environmental pollution.

Liaising with the various oil mineral and gas prospecting and producing companies on all matters of pollution, prevention and control.

Executing such other works and performing such other functions, which in the option of the commission are required for the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region and its people

You really haven’t said why Genesis is primitive.

Again science is simply hinged on beliefs.
Maybe you don’t know
It was written at a time when much less was known about the earth and the universe. Early science without the knowledge we now have, though it did inform us where and how to seek.

If you go through the thread you'd see Workch claiming I said the same thing, that science is hinged on belief. It isn't and neither did I say it was, but the discussion that ensued might still inform you.

Science works on beliefs and is not anti-belief.

Why do you think Genesis 1 is primitive?
Genesis 1 has been superseded by superior knowledge. We now know the universe is much older and did not come into existence as Gen 1 implies, and believing Gen 1 is like believing the science of Pytolemy instead of standing on his giant shoulders so one sees further.

What you describe up there is not karma but the law of Moses in the Christian Bible. Karma is a Sanskrit word which simply means "action" or "deeds" .Don't be hung up on the word , karma. You can use your own word in your local language to describe the same thing.

Karma has nothing to do with belief. It simply means the effects of the actions you take which could be good or bad. No god or entity punishes any one with karma.

If you constantly act in a dishonesty manner to people close to you, after some time, no body wants to do anything serious with you because they can no longer trust you. People not wanting to do anything with you is the karma you suffer for your previous acts of dishonesty

Karma is also the reason you're able to read my response to your comment. If you didn't go to school to learn how to read you wouldn't have reaped the karma of literacy.

The owner of the building that collapsed in Lagos recently, was unfortunate to have been in the building when it came down. The collapse of the building was the result of an action taken in the past. Karma did not punish the man but figuratively we can say it did. When people say you're being punished by karma they dont mean it literarily

Those who think karma is punishment from a god are people with limited information about what it represent

Karma makes you to act with more responsibility since it makes you to always consider the possible effect of whatever actions you are about to take.
If I don't get off my lazy ass my karma would never get me to Asaba! It would in fact keep me wailing where I am stuck!

BudaAtomic-brain, this is where intelligence comes into play and predictably, you replied as intelligently as Cardi B would do debating nuclear physics.

In the same locked CRT Wikipedia article we have kept referencing since July, one of the themes of CRT states that it abhors merit principle. Merit principle is simply meritocracy or getting things and positive based strictly on merit.

Simply put, Critical Race Theory frowns on meritocracy. Which is why many BAs (not African immigrants) would feel entitled to many positions or things and expect to be handed down.

Yet you lie and trick and distort facts! After all, I wrote/edited the CRT article like you initially claimed.

Did you know one of the themes of Critical Race Theory is that it opposes Merit Principle or Meritocracy? CRT proposes that merit shouldn't be the yardstick for anything. In other words, hand things down to them.
