This is a very interesting observation. And I am limiting myself to the above for simplicity.

You see when the price of food crops drops, it does not reduce the price of labour, which rose. After all, it is not like I can now go to my employees and say, "people, food price has dropped so I have to drop your wages". In fact, I think they will come to my house and kill me if I tried.

Also, there's the big issue of Naira's deprecation. I read in a recent thread that the price of a Corolla has gone from sub 1m to 7m in like 3 years, and if you think of it, transport vehicles probably increased at a greater rate, which its owner will recuperate by charging more to transport food stuff.

And there's other inputs like gas, aircon, rent, and the horrible Tinubu's tax to name a few of the expenses a local restaurant will incur, which I'm very certain you know have increased astronomically.

Hopefully, you will begin to try to understand why "food local restaurants are even increasing the price of their food", unfortunately, might I add.
