So do you think success truly makes women chase men?
No, I don't think "success truly makes women chase men".

What I do think is the supposed success of many men and the corresponding finances it puts in their pockets is what some women chase, while fooling the men it is them that are being chased. And once those women have taken all those men have, which incidentally is easy to do by flashing t1t at him, they not only stop chasing those men, they abandon those men too.

The UK is multi racial - some people may have dropped the bible and some are still reading the Bible as I initially noted in my previous comment.
First thank you. You are appreciated.

A fast growing religion in UK is Islam, which is due to the influx of immigrants, and not the natives converting. Pentecostal Christianity is also growing, and not because the locals are leaving the Church of England to go there, but for the same reason Islam is growing. Immigrants. Below is a map of Pentecostal churches in the same area I posted for libraries. Most are Nigerian congregation churches.

kayjordan:
Many blacks in the UK are part of the UK population and they were born into cultures that instilled bible reading and worship into their lives - they may not be active members in churches as cited in your evidence, but they probably do private bible readings at home or read devotionals.
Most churches are indeed full of black migrants, and would be dead without them.

My ma's church (of England) I sometimes go to is full of West Indian and Africans today, but investigate and you'd hear how they used to be referred to the Pentecostal church down the road as miss roads.

kayjordan:
Schools in the UK are mantaining the Religious Knowledge in their curriculums to encourage the religious education. So students are encouraged to read the bible texts.
Now, this. You'd think religion education in UK is like in Nigeria, but it isn't. No teacher can stand in front of a class of students and preach god in a UK school. Not even in a Catholic or Muslim school can they do that, as the curriculum for religious education in UK forces the imparting of knowledge of all major religions, as in their history, mode of worship, main doctrines, past atrocities, etc.

In fact, I asked my child for this, and he told me one of his teachers is a priest. She does not teach him religious knowledge however. She is his English teacher. And no. They do not read the Bible in school, and you should have in fact seen the look on his face when I suggested they might.

kayjordan:
Young people in the UK are seeking meaning of the world through bible readings.
No they are not. But I do not expect you to take my word for it.

One lament amongst the Nigerian parents in my mother's church and the CoE in general, is that children leave the church after they graduate from university. The parents can not seem to understand that while they are telling their children that God created everything in six days and rested, their teachers are teaching them the earth is almost 14 billion years old and has been evolving with nothing to do with any gods. And the schools arrange trips to the British Museum to go show them fossils of dinosaurs.

What kid, pray tell, will refuse what they see with their own eyes and choose to believe in fairy tales in a book?

kayjordan:
Diverse reports on religiosity in the UK will give you a full understanding of what's really happening.

only reports can tell us that - or one-on-one conversations...
You see the first part of your above? It actually irritates me when people say that, which they tend to do when AI disagrees with them, because they think the AI I present is some form of evidence, when I am presenting it as a pointer to research you should go and do. It after all does include links to reports and studies done on the topic, so why not bother researching them, or rather, asking and knocking and seeking for knowledge and data and information for oneself?

I've included some links to reports to assist you.

kayjordan:
Also note that, reading the bible and attending church are two separate activities.
One of the links below is to a census report where it specifically says "A person’s religion is self-defined regardless of whether they practise their religion or not". Basically, they may have never been to church apart from for a wedding or a funeral but still identify as Christians. Most have definitely not read the Bible.

In fact, Kay, my experience has shown that even most Nigerian Christians have not read the bible! Though I must define my own 'read', which is start at page one and go page by page to the very end, as opposed to the random dipping done in churches.

Reading, on the whole, is just about dying, I'd say, because there's just far too much to distract from it these days.

On that note, I'll stop right here for now so I can leave you space to consume the links below.

And remember. The map below is Pentecostal churches that are attended mostly by we black African migrants.

Nigeria is in a more extreme case compared to the UK.
I doubt you know how little Brits read the Bible. It's so bad, even churches are being converted to homes and mosques. But there's really no point us blindly arguing since we can easily consider facts, which I include below for your consideration.

And I never said "isn't sufficient for mental development", though it or any book alone is clearly not sufficient for mental development, as Christ himself said.

Nigeria is currently at a stage that Paul would describe as "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child", while I would propose to you that UK is at the "When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me" stage.

It's why we Nigerians believe, instead of seaking to actually know. We are just not there in sufficient numbers yet, but will get there in due time.

melechpilusof:
The education you received is useless.
I don't know how true it is that AJ said any of this since no source is provided, but the above and else he said about our education is what I have found to very true in too many cases.

Our education system seems to be based on the old method of feeding people facts that must be believed, instead of teaching us to question and extend our knowledge. This is indicative in the very few patents of new inventions we have made compared to a place like China who will travel to the end of the earth to steal knowledge they do not have.

A five year old in UK will question you to death when told anything, but a 12 year old in Nigeria will get whipped if they dared, and a graduate isn't much better at questioning having had the ability whipped out of them from in the womb. These two different educations produce different sorts of adults, with one obidiently believing what they are told, while the other asks and knocks and seeks for knowledge and understanding.

Both are even described in a Holy Book, where we read one person walked by a tree that produced fruits of knowledge and dared not pluck it to see if it really did what they'd been told it would do to them, while the other walked up to the tree and plucked its fruit and ate it to find out for themself.

The former ended up having to be naked ïgnorant enslaved, while the latter becomes self employed and able to produce their daily bread from the sweat of their own brow.

I daresay, UK was pretty dense like us, and had the education we once had, and which was derided by a certain Dickens when he wrote, "Now, what I want is Facts. Teach these boys and girls nothing but Facts. Facts alone are wanted in life. Plant nothing else, and root out everything else. You can only form the minds of reasoning animals upon Facts; nothing else will ever be of any service to them". But he was of course writing after the fact, as the age of curiosity had already been upon them by the time he wrote that, and history shows Britannia ruled an empire on which the sun never set.

Unlike AJ, I am very hopeful about Nigeria however, because here on Nairaland it's very not easy to be a believer, especially if you express that belief in a thread or post. There are very many Nigerians here who will question almost everything, including what God ate on the first day and how, though I must say that not a sufficient number of us have overcome fear and plucked fruits of knowledge to find out if it will truly kill us or it be good for gaining wisdom and opens eyes and frees from naked ignorant slavery. But my faith in us Nigerians is so much that I know one day go be one day, and soon.

Now, please, it is very likely you may want to jump down my throat for what seems like a generalisation like you've jumped down AJ's, but do know that I do not mean every Nigerian is as described above, nor am I presuming that only Nigerians like AJ who experienced the UK education system from young are not like that, for I am fully aware that many have parents who value instilling curiosity in us their children in Nigeria, and I hope you instill curiosity in your children too wherever you may be so that they may Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth, and not be îgnorant naked slaves in some garden in Eden, who can't even elect competent leaders and rulers from amongst ourselves.

My partner was call centreing at home last week, and a certain Lord Hamilton called. He complained he does not want to talk to an African but to a person who spoke Queen's English. The racïst git had called 4 times already saying he couldn't understand the foreigners who answered his call.

The company partner works for seems to hire foreigners because natives like me would have very rudely told him to go do one and we'd have been sacked.

Turned out he owes £6000 and doesn't want to pay.

I know that you feel disappointed in Peter Obi as a supporter - it's because you focused on the patterns of the people's thoughts and not the patterns of the political game.

Communication issues are a real thing in Nigeria and that's reflected in Peter Obi's webpage that you mentioned. It shows micro-leadership flaws even at a campaign level.

The "bible" as a metaphor - represents the morals and ethics the "Obidients" promote either religiously or hypocritically.

Concerning the "Real Bible" - yes it hasn't been dropped by Nigerians and the British too haven't dropped the bible for Shakespeare either.

Nigerians just treat the bible as an internet modem to access Google for all their problems.
I feel you are using your own narrative as a reason for my disappointment. It would have been better you ask me my reasons instead of filling in your own gaps. My disappointment is because he is not organising his supporters effectively, and wouldn't win if he doesn't.

I note you slipped in "Real Bible" without defining it. In UK, we have replaced Bible with libraries, since we understand what happens to those who read only one book.

Below are current 'Bibles' in a particular area of London. I doubt we have an equivalent in Nigeria.

It's good to have a support system which you see in Peter Obi.

This acknowledges that we can all play the dirty game and drop the bibles.
Personally, I think Peter Obi has a lousy "support system". I signed up to his webpage but have never received any notice of anything from him, which is very poor especially if I compare it to the UK Labour Party of which I am a due paying card carrying member, and who bombard me with emails weekly; and to the UK Liberal Democratic Party that I also signed up to who ditto. On this issue my Obi disappoints me immensely.

As for dropping the Bible, why, considering it is the most read book of Nigerians?

That would be like telling the British to drop Shakespeare, if you ask me, though it's debatable if that's their most read book. It's not the Bible, as they've moved on, but we haven't yet I reckon, so it's not to be dropped yet, I'd say. But I'm open to your reasons if you'd oblige me.

You are being unnecessarily rude, which shows me that tax is not all that impoverishes you.

If you think I don't know, you can graciously educate me. I after all have admitted the provided information is unclear.

For your information, Tinubu is going to tax you even more next term to pay for all the loans he's been taking and to steal or have some stolen. So perhaps consider electing my Peter Obi or anyone else so he, Tinubu, can't. Beware, though, they too might be no better, including my Obi, and tax you even more.

But if tax does impoverish you, work harder and earn more so it doesn't. And go learn to discuss respectfully so it doesn't seem like you have an impoverished insulting mind.

If per month how do you expect them to widen the tax net? Because only very few number of people fall into this bracket.
It's good if per month and "only very few number of people fall into this bracket".

It's even too small to tax if you ask me, and they should have made it tax on over a million a month so it does not over impact the poor, but it's a start.

₦700k is only £360. And in my opinion, its very small. Below is the amount you earn tax free in UK, though I'm aware I should not be comparing.

I do not think the new tax regime is bad at all, and it is one more thing that Obidient me appreciates about Tinubu, along with his removal of fuel subsidy and free floating Naira.

As I said, when government taxes me, I will be more focused on the government that is elected, and more likely monitor how my tax money is spent.

So, let me repeat myself and say, I am Obidient. God bless and continue to strengthen Tinubu and my country Nigeria.

I want him to do one more thing for me so I can decide to vote for him at the next election. Scrap or reform Youth Service so it stops being cheap labour for employers, and so employers can be incentivized to retain and develop their staff and pay them appropriately.
