The thread also reminded me of an event of 2018/2019 in Canada. One useless conservative tried to bring Trump's style of politics into Canada.

How it started. He contested for the leadership position of the mainstream conservative party and was first runner up. He broke away and formed a party that went further right. All the deplorables quickly supported the loser. He contested for PM in 2019 as the leader of his new party and lost big. He was 6th out of 6.
He was soundly rejected. He lost his riding of 12 years. His father also held that riding for 13 years before him. His political career is now finished

Same happened to France's Le Pen, British National Party and many more all over Europe where populism rose up and then fizzled out.

I think the hope was to Occupy but the fascism of individuality overwhelmed the collectivist ethos and we got the trumps instead of the Corbyns and Bernies. Then Covid19 came along to show why communities must work together.

10 years, I reckon. For the past decade to be understood and assimiliated into enough human psyches. Then the next wave will hit as a world order change, if only because we can not go on this way.

Funny enough, David Valadao is from my district. He lost to a democrat in an upset in 2018 and reclaimed his seat from that guy in 2020. Luck is success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one's own actions.

You can indeed pick up pens from a pen factory or seller indeed, but you will definitely not be writing any worthwhile rap songs if you rely on picking one up from the floor unless you specifically go looking for pens in like a school for instance, and I would not call that luck, but "through one's own actions".

As for Eminem, ignoring his own actions in his success is insulting to him and moreso to yourself.

And unless you are talking about spontaneously writing a rap song with no prior knowledge, practise nor experience, you would have required such a device while practising and learning to write rap songs, hence, luck would have had nothing to do with it because you would have spent time working hard to write a rap song and that work would have already included getting a pen to write with and paper to write it on.

The above is why you qualified with "to some extent". It's because you know what you are saying is false .

A commercial motorcyclist has died after he was hit by a stray bullet allegedly released from the gun of operatives of the Amotekun Corps in Oyo state.

Motorcyclist operators have taken to the streets in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, to protest the alleged killing of their colleague by the State Security Network Agency popularly known as Amotekun.

The commercial motorcyclist, identified as Tosin Thomas, was hit by the stray bullet around 11pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

Amotekun operatives were said to be on patrol around Mokola area of Ibadan when a gunshot was heard allegedly hitting Thomas, NAN reports.

According to a witness account, Thomas was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but later gave up the ghost in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased was not on his bike at the time of the incident, the witness added.

This must have triggered the frustrations of other motorcycle operators in the area who trooped to the street to demand for justice for the alleged killing of Thomas.

The protesters carried the remains of the deceased around Mokola before they eventually dumped it in the middle of the road.

This resulted in a serious traffic around Mokola Roundabout and traders were forced to hurriedly close their shops for safety.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident in an interview with NAN, also added that normalcy has been restored in the affected area.

On Saturday, January 9, 2021, Amotekun operatives reportedly clashed with herdsmen at Aiyete in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The incident resulted in the death of seven people while houses were also burnt down.
