bujebudanu1:On the surface, it sounds like a wack decision. But if you look closely, you'll see it's sound and will be effective. Mass shooters tend to choose soft targets. What's a softer than a school full of kids, and designated as a "gun-free zone"? Why don't they go shoot up police stations? The mere thought that you could meet resistance will discourage all but the most determined of school shooters. Gun control also disarms lawful citizens AND makes it possible for only criminal to own guns. If most homes in Nigeria had guns, do you think these 2-bit miscreants that invade homes will be as rampant? Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US, yet they are the murder capital of the US. This year alone, 321 people have been shot, with 62 dead and 259 wounded. Mind you we are just in the second month of the year! Also, you need to look at the significance of guns in US history and culture. They earned their independence with guns. Their framers, having just fought off a tyrannical government, knew all too well the importance of an armed citizenry. Power corrupts absolutely - as the saying goes, and the founding fathers of the US were very distrustful of big government's potential to encroach on people's freedoms. The role of guns, in the US, becomes very clear when you look at the first two items in the Bill or Rights: First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Second Amendment: "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Here are a few quotes from some of their founding fathers: 1.) "The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear ar as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." --- Thomas Jefferson 2.) "Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence." --- George Washington |

"...We’re not here to leave a mark, bro. Monuments, legacies, marks—that’s where we always go wrong. We’re here to revel in the world, to soak in the awesomeness of it, to enjoy the ride.” “Orson, look, it’s Philosopher Bob again.” “The world’s maximum perfect as it is, beauty from horizon to horizon. Any mark any of us tries to leave—hell, it’s only graffiti. Nothing can improve on the world we’ve been given. Any mark anyone leaves is no better than vandalism.” I said, “The music of Mozart.” “Vandalism,” Bobby said. “The art of Michelangelo.” “Graffiti.” “Renoir,” I said. “Graffiti.” “Bach, the Beatles.” “Aural graffiti,” he said fiercely. As he followed our conversation, Orson was getting whiplash. “Matisse, Beethoven, Wallace Stevens, Shakespeare.” “Vandals, hooligans.”" ----- Fear Nothing, Dean Koontz |
kaziblake:“She stoops to conquer...” Did you read the part where she says she won’t sit with him? If she doesn’t make her suggestion in a sweet and feminine manner, then he shouldn’t even “compute” it: |

This isn’t “nagging”, this is her “testing your mettle” to see if you’re a man. As a man, you are the arbiter of good taste. If you decide to tie wrapper to church, then that is the most appropriate thing that could EVER be worn. You know how we see women with big breasts and ass and go gaga? A woman’s version of this acting in these stupid, ridiculous, disrespectful ways AND watching to see how you'd react. This is basically where a woman’s arousal comes from - seeing that you are a man who will not take her nonsense. Here’s one of my favorite quotes from a book I love, The Way of The Superior Man: “Every moment of your life is either a test or a celebration. The same is true about every moment with your woman, only doubly so. Not only is her simple existence a test for you, but one of her deepest pleasures in intimacy is testing you, and then feeling you are not moved off course by her challenge. The most erotic moment for a woman is feeling that you are Shiva, the divine masculine: unperturbable, totally loving, fully present, and all-pervading. She cannot move you, because you already are what you are, with or without her. She cannot scare you away, because you already penetrate her in fearless love, pervading her heart and body. She cannot distract you, because your one-pointed commitment to truth will not bend to her wiles. Feeling this hugeness of love and freedom in you, she can trust you, utterly, and surrender her testing in celebration of love. Until she wants to feel you as Shiva again. And then the testing will begin anew. In fact, it is precisely when you are most Shiva-like that she will most test you.” |

Pierohandsome:It can happen to anyone bro. Having a so called “good girl” is akin to having a tamed bear. But it’s still a bear. One day it could tear you to pieces. |
