Fashion › Re: (Not for Indomie generation)When Last Did You Use These Headsets??? by BuddhaPalm(m): 2:30pm On Aug 07, 2018 |
Iluv: Hi Nairalanders,
How many of us remember these headsets?
British Tireless ST909 headsets.
This very headset was the bomb back in the 90s. Don't get me wrong, they were the very affordable low budget headphones then. If you had one back then, you would be probably trending like a dude using a knockoff Dr. Dre Beats headsets. Even heard they were complimentary items on British airways flights.
I came across this particular one a few days ago and I decided to buy it, I particularly reminisced when portable CD players were in vogue and these headsets were a good match then.
Surprisingly, after using it for a day, I think the quality is not bad for these present times. Though would not be suitable for critical musical usage, it serves just right for casual listening. It has a flat speaker that doesn't discomfort your ears.
I also observed that we probably might have been missing this piece since technology has forced us to migrate to ear tightening headphones; when listening with this piece, you are very aware of your environment. It allows you enjoy your music without much external sound intrusions while you also can keep tab of what's happening around you.
This is in contrast to our current ear bud stuffing head pieces that eliminates external sounds, which as an advantage allows you to enjoy your music but to the detriment of not being in sync with your current environment.
No wonder we have had cases of people being run down by moving vehicles all because they had their ears stuffed up and listening to music.
I would recommend this piece for a trial if you can lay your hands on one. I got this around tinubu square on Lagos island.
I wrote this piece from my BlackBerry Classic, please overlook any brevity or typos.
Cc Lalasticlala Ishilove Thanks for this post bro! I just remembered this headphone and decided to Google it. Appears "British Wireless" was used to market this only in Nigeria. Fun times. |

LeoFish92: Greetings family-landers, I'm having this issue which has been bordering me, I finished service last year, recently got an online side hustle which gives me 30k per month.
And at 26,I'm no longer comfortable staying at home with my parents, I can't hang out late with my friends without my parents drowning my phone with calls, as early as 8.pm at night the calls will start flowing as if I'm a customer care agent. (really frustrating)
Almost all my guys are living on their own, and to make matters worse, I can't receive any female visitor cos of my religious parents and lack of privacy.
On the flip side, I'm scared if a 30k monthly salary can be enough for a guy who wants to rent and probably furnish a self-con of 70-80k per year. (I'm not the extravagant type)
I've never lived alone so I'm really confused if I should make this move at this point in my life.
Guys who are living on their own, what's your take on this? If you leave your parents house, your mind will "force" you to make more than 30K/month. |

"With girls, Nature has had in view what is called in a dramatic sense a “striking effect,” for she endows them for a few years with a richness of beauty and a, fulness of charm at the expense of the rest of their lives; so that they may during these years ensnare the fantasy of a man to such a degree as to make him rush into taking the honourable care of them, in some kind of form, for a lifetime—a step which would not seem sufficiently justified if he only considered the matter."

Alexk2: Judging By the body language of the lady, there seems to be a serious basis for her rejection and outburst. She seems trying to explain but the guy won't let her. Whatever it is, why going for public proposal without first settling the matter privately. It's not every lady that can be bribed with that child play called "proposal". Unless I'm wrong, I don't pity that guy. Why even propose in public. Marriage is not for a spectacle. It is something one should do privately. |

There's this lady am currently in a relationship with and Sincerely she's really the type of girl we guys are always hoping to come across.... I have come to love her buh only for me to notice she has à tattoo on her arm...And sincerely there's this societal perception about tattoo that speaks of Waywardness and irresponsible lifestyle..... buh on the contrary... this babe is just so different that am just confused.....I have come across girls who appear so so bad and even sleep at the club buh are still virgin while some girls who claim to be responsible and decent are upgraded and modified Oloshos.... Please help a brother, I don't wanna make a mistake based on the general assumption on what people would say I kind of still think like you too, but it depends. I don't see myself ever getting a tattoo, but I don't judge it so harshly anymore. Tats are ornamental, and women are like flowers. They just want to adorn themselves in stuff to "accentuate"/express their beauty. Sometimes, those could be tats or jewellery or whatever. Before Christianity and the current social order, women used to get tattoos too. My maternal grandma, for example, had them. And she was a damn fine woman. So, for me, if a woman doesn't turn her body into some sort of Sistine chapel, but just has a few expressive art on her body. I don't really judge so harshly. The one that riles me up is nose piercings (septum) - the middle ones! |

Family › Re: Is It Normal That I Don't Want To Get Married Or Have Kids? by BuddhaPalm(m): 12:19am On Jul 05, 2018 |
mhd5757: Hey nairalanders, what do you think? Is this normal? Marriage doesn't appeal to me at all same as having kids, I prefer having dogs even now i have 2 of them and as soon as I get a job and make enough money I plan on getting 3 more making them 5 in number. I know most people, the first thing they want to do as soon as they get a job is to get married and have kids but not me, I'm also not interested in having a girlfriend, though I used to have one back then when I was in the university but we were forced to leave each other being that she had to go back to her country and I had to come back to Nigeria. After that I got another girl here in Nigeria, but I had to leave her because she was too expensive and she was draining me financially. After that, I just lost interest in relationships and I decided to be single, I decided that even if I feel the need to lay with a woman I can just go to an ashawo hotel or get a steady woman who I can be calling any time I need company. I think this is the lifestyle that suits me especially in this harsh economy, its easier for me. If I get married and have kids imagine all the money I'm going to have to be spending, excess groceries, all kinds of bills, school fees and the list goes on. At least having a steady woman to call like maybe once a week can't be as expensive as getting married and supporting a wife. Also having dogs can't be as expensive as raising kids, with dogs all I need to do is to buy their feed, their grooming products and pay for their medical bills and probably training fees too but with kids and a wife imagine all the bills, the lists keep compiling and they never end. What is your take on this? What do you think? Hehehe... You’re kinda “normal” actually. There are TONS of people exactly like you. There’s even a movement called “Men Going Their Own Way”. Here’s a community of people just like you: www.reddit.com/r/mgtow/Just be mindful of the more toxic comments. |

Romance › Re: Women Cannot Handle Rejection At All: My Experience by BuddhaPalm(m): 3:40pm On Jun 13, 2018 |
daviesblaze: I recently ended a thing with a lady and damn she didn’t take it well.
She was annoying, but I told her I was simply too busy with work and other things and she was pushing for something more serious.Truth was, i easily grow bored whenever a relationship stretches for more than a month
After I told her I had no intention of getting serious, out came the shaming tactics “You’re not a real man are you” “You’re just a fuckboy” “Don't let your look deceive you. you can't get anyone better than me” “Maybe I should send a guy friend to Bleep you up” “You wasted 2 months of my life” "you took advantage of me because i was vulnerable"
Now the whole time she’s saying all this, I kept thinking of the phrase women use to shame and shut down men who get aggressive over being rejected, “you’re not entitled to anybody’s love or affection”
So I decided to use it. I said “you’re not entitled to anyone’s love or affection” And she hit the roof telling me, “I can Bleep any guy I want, I can have a new guy every day if I wanted”
I gotta admit, it felt pretty damn good to use that on a chick.
Well sweetheart, why are you wasting time arguing with me? Go do that then!!
Typical woman. Feels entitled to my time but if I was being billy beta and getting Aggro about her not committing I’d get told I’m not entitled to her love and affection Stop passing off others' posts as yours. |

I have never dated a girl who have refused to let me see her phone. There is a way you'll treat a woman, she'll never hide a thing from you. It's doesn't matter if you're rich or not.
Most men just don't know how women work or don't care to know and this how it will keep happening. I don't pity those men.
Anyway, it has happened. People who know about court proceedings will help you out. Very funny. Some of these girls have a different SIM for their “customers”. |
