Somebody promised me a job he was sure of not giving me but asked me to keep coming by so so time for almost 6 months. Anytime I got there the receptionist would tell me he was in a meeting and the meeting may even last for a whole day. So one day when he gave me his usual appointment, I decided to get there as early as 6:30 am and waited at the gate. Immediately he came and saw me, he nearly entered the ground and shouted: "why didn't you allow the day to break now? eh, it's very dangerous moving around in the dark o please". After the drama, he asked me to wait a bit because he was going for an early morning briefing grin

till now, he hasn't returned from the "briefing" grin

. This case happened in 1998 grin

When I went to Kano to build a Hotel for one Hajiya. I discovered that Lagos is a huge scam. From my house to the Site is very far And the Keke is just N50. That was 2021. The same distance in Lagos would be like N500. So i use to pity the Keke riders and over pay them.
Aside that cost of living in Kano is extremely low. Cost for house, food stuff and constant electricity where I lived while building the Project.
People were behaving like human beings. They greet you along the road. They are open minded.

I heard that Lagos was that good and sincere before

. Lagosians look scary nowadays. To ask someone on the street for direction is almost impossible with the they way pple look as if they want to attack you. Even if you eventually summon.courage, 80% of guys will not answer you. It's only the older folks that respond to questions or greetings nowadays. Guys with dreadlocks and cross bags everywhere.

My own question is "why are there still check points when the IGP has announced that there shouldn't be any at the beginning of his tenure"? It's like that pronouncement is always part of the initial gra-gra by all new IGPs sha cos that's always the 1st statement they always make immediately after swearing in.

I have a real family, the employer and employee relationship is purely a business one for me, where I exchange my time and labour for money and other benefits. Don't get it twisted!

I mentally cringe whenever I hear this at interviews or after starting a job. What it usually means is that, we don't respect boundaries here, you will be expected to work late or be available at odd hours and weekends, if a superior calls, texts or emails you.

That is the usual language of One useless guy that God will soon deal with. When he's using you, you are family but when it's time to help or you err, matters will be treated officially.

Gbam. Very correct. The girl might be the killer anyway but her narration explains police modus operandi when collecting statements. They will never allow you to write lailai, they will dictate what you'll write ni then ask you to sign. That's why I always advice pple to do away with anything that will lead to police asking you to write a statement unless you are the complainant.

Some mechanics are alarmist by nature. To replace common brake lining some on them will first shout "Haa oga, why are you just bringing it now? I pray it haven't affected the hub oo".
This same gasket matter happened to my Camry 2006 and immediately one werey started suggesting half engine. On top gasket fah! I took time to lecture him that if that's how it is designed to always buy another engine or half engine whenever there's overheating issue with cars, there won't be spare gasket to buy as replacement.
