I couldn't contain my laughter when I saw this obituary poster. Some relative are really wicked I must admit ...lol This was shared online and its a picture of a Ghanaian obituary poster and is trending online like crazy..

The picture which was shared by a Facebook user shows the obituary of a deceased man aged 54. What got online users reacting to the picture is the title at the top of the page, which reads "Some Relative Are Wicked".

Though thats true but what do you think ?

GOTV and DSTV is a product of Multichoice Limited tasked to provide cable TV network in Nigeria and African as a whole. It is not a new thing though that almost 80% of their customers complains bitterly about their exorbitant monthly charges but because there are practically no viable competitor to port to, their customers has no choice to stick with them.

It seems they have or perhaps resorting to another method of ripping people off. One of their customers (kafuwai dauda) sent in this complaint to me urging that it should be published and I'm not going to deny him that. Apparently, he said GOTv ripped him off.

Below is what he sent to me...

Scammed by GOTV!!!

My Gotv subscription expired for about a month now and I didn't renew the subscription. Yesterday I received a call from GOTV customer care agent in Lagos, that they noticed I've not renewed my subscription for a while, because of that I should go to the nearest GOTV service centre and pay the sum of #950 Naira instead #1900 which is 50% special discount for me.

After the payment of #950 at the service centre the cashier gave me a receipt indicating the "GOTV plus discount". Coming back home I received a text from GOTV which says " Dear GOgetter, thank you for your payment, please note an outstanding balance of #950 is still due to extend your viewing experience"

Have anyone witnessed this before?

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has taken its services a step further to ensure that any bonafide citizen of Nigeria is not disenfranchised in the up coming elections and the subsequent ones.

As it is well known, INEC was established by the 1999 to among other things organize elections into various political offices in the country. We hereby invite Nigerians to Re-apply for The Voters Card if and only if you have lost yours or have not applied before.

Applicants are however allowed to re-apply for the INEC Voter’s Card on the condition that the information on the previously issued card will be deleted permanently.

You can also check the status of your Temporary Voters Card(TVC), and Permanent Voters Card(PVC), as this will help to;

1. know their eligibility status in the forth coming elections, gubernatorial or presidential
2. know if you’re a bonafide citizen of Nigeria . If your eligibility status is not confirmed yet, then your right as a Nigerian is infringed on.
3. Any documentation done with the (supposed invalid) TVC or PVC will not be accepted in e.g banks and so on.
4. You as a citizen of Nigeria will have no right to change people in leadership positions as invalid TVC or PVC will turn you to a passive Nigerian.

I don't know what to say about this car apart from wooooooow. In fact, there’s concepts, and then there’s concepts that turn into production cars. This is just a concept though and will only ever remain as one. It’s called the Rolls-Royce Apparition Concept and you are seeing correctly; the driver sits outside while passengers are enclosed in the back.

The creation was developed by Jeremy Westerlund while he was studying art, and his aim was to design something similar to how they did it in the old days; driver up front, exposed outside, while the passengers are cooped inside at the back – like a horse and carriage type arrangement.

In all fairness, it is quite interesting to behold. Although there are a lot of boxy, straight-cut shapes going on throughout the entire length of the car, the overall platform is stirring. It offers loads of ‘you can’t do that’, which is what concepts are meant to be all about.

According to Car Advice, much of the car is based on the Rolls-Royce Phantom, in terms of initial design, carrying over a similar front end. From the windscreen things get a little different, as there is no windscreen. The bonnet just extends all the way over to the bootlid in one seamless stretch.

It also features mahogany-encrusted wheels, traditional Rolls-Royce front grille and a low and long presence which would measure over seven metres in length if developed. Jeremy Westerlund recently summed up the concept, and in his words:

“An ultra luxurious chauffeur driven limousine evoking the glamor and sophistication of chauffeur driven cars in the past that has since been lost. “This vehicle is about being seen, but at the same time being invisible or an “Apparition” in the sense that you’re safely tucked away in its palatial and private interior.”

The model seen here is just a 1:4 scale version, and as mentioned, it is unlikely it will ever be turned into anything that could be bought from your local Rolls-Royce dealer.

The State of Texas in USA is facing a serious challenge which appears to be the country’s major disaster in 12 years as the much publicised "Hurricane Harvey" approaches its coastline.

Texas State Governor Greg Abbott, described the hurricane as a “very major disaster” for the southern U.S. state, while calling for more federal aid to cope with the storm. According to BBC, the disaster is now a category four storm as it powers across the Gulf of Mexico into Texas’ central coast.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said storm surges may bring life-threatening floods in and around Houston. At 18:00 (23:00 GMT), the storm was 45 miles (70 km) east of Corpus Christi, with maximum sustained winds of 130mph (215 km/h), the NHC said. The storm may bring 40in (102cm) of rain and 12ft (3.5m) storm surges, say forecasters.

Mr Abbott said Harvey was now “turning into a very complex and dangerous hurricane” and that it is likely to strike at the heart of Texas’s oil refining industry, with Corpus Christi, a port city of 320,000 people, in the path of the storm.

In a letter to President Donald Trump requesting federal aid, Mr Abbott said: “The storm surge, coupled with the deluge of rain, could easily lead to billions of dollars of property damage and almost certainly loss of life.”

The White House said Mr Trump is likely to visit Texas early next week.

The subscribers of the Glo mobile network in four local government areas of Ondo State have been unable to use the network for the past two weeks as the 33 stations in the areas have been shut down by the security men manning them.

The affected four local government areas are:

1. Akoko North-East
2. Akoko North-West
3. Akoko South-East
4. Akoko South-West Local Governments

According to reports, the guards were said to have taken the action in protest against the telecom giants following non-payment of their salaries for the past 11 months by the security outfit, Concord Security Limited, contracted by Glo to hire the guards.

Some of the 66 guards who spoke on condition of anonymity on Friday lamented that the security company was owing them 11 months salary, and they could not cope doing the job again. One of them said;

"We have to shut down the stations we are guarding because of non-payment of our salaries, we have contacted our employer, Concord Security Limited in Akure but our boss, Mr. Friday told us that Glo was owing him that is why he too is owing us.

“We want to appeal to the management of Glo Telecommunicaton to pay our company so that they could pay us too. We are earning N10,000 as salary per month, you can see that that is too small for us but we are managing it, yet they are denying us the money, this is unfair”

The General Manager of Concord Security Company, who was identified as Mr. Friday admitted that the company was owing the security guards. According to Daily Post, the man said he was owing the workers because Glo was owing him too, but explained that the matter has been resolved.

“ We are owing them, we are not denying that; it is due to the economic problem in the country. Our client, Globacom is owing us 16 months and we are able to pay the security up to 11 months. I have talked to them that it was not an intentional act for us to owe them because we are contractors. When our clients pay us, we pay our workers,” Friday explained

What could this be? What manner of sickness is this? This is the question in the minds of this woman's family and it has gone unanswered for quite sometime now. Rezia Begum’s, 40, right leg weighs around 60kg due to suspected elephantiasis.

The mother-of-two, from Bangladesh, has suffered with the condition ever since the birth of her second daughter 18 years ago. Although it is unclear how Ms Begum’s condition affects her, she says she is now dependent on the support of her relatives.

Ms Begum said: ‘I was like any other normal woman but now I’m a burden on my poor family.’ Although she is being cared for at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in Bangladesh, she is yet to begin treatment.

Surgery and additional tests are required before therapy can start. The cause of Ms Begum’s condition is unclear, however, previous reports of other cases revealed the disorder can be caused by roundworms entering the body via mosquitoes.

If the swelling spreads from the legs to the abdomen, the condition can be fatal. Elephantiasis affects around 120 million people globally. It is characterised by the massive enlargement of an area of the body due to obstruction of the lymphatic system. This results in the accumulation of fluids in the affected part of the body.
