Rings must be exchanged, we slipped out the one from our white wedding and handed it over to them. So use the rings you planned using for the white wedding or buy cheap rings for the court wedding.

Oh, he married you because the lady rejected him, that's the problem then. I hope she continues rejecting him because if not, he will happily ball with her. It's obvious he is still obsessed with her, the reason he has refused to let go.
Family › Re: When Your Wife Takes Your Place As The Husband (Photo) by byvan03: 7:38am On Mar 19, 2016
Even a husband won't treat his wife this way. This is more like " when your wife is a bully ". Being a husband shouldn't be associated with violence and force.

25years, yet so desperate!! It will only get worse, common what exactly drives you bonkers about this evil aged man? Call off that wedding, go ahead and that will be the worst mistake of your life. You are forcing this marriage, seems he got lots of cash undecided. The cold feet thing before marriage is a lie for those that are sure of what they are doing.

Marriage has been ridiculed, things that shouldn't be condoned are now being nurtured. I don't even get how his ex is still his friend. You guys didn't date? I believe everyone knows where the rain started beating them. The foundation of every marriage defines the structure, hope you didn't cause their break-up.
Family › Re: Woman Mouth Lashed For Kneeling To Appreciate Her Husband Publicly? by byvan03: 6:05am On Mar 19, 2016
This kneeling thing is not for everyone, it's something I have never seen anybody do in real life except during traditional weddings . It may come naturally for some people to kneel at the doff of a hat but some will never do it because they can't figure what that even mean. It has nothing to do with forming Britico, people perceive things differently. It's also not a thing for some cultures around here.
Family › Re: The Silent Pain Of Fathers by byvan03: 5:53am On Mar 19, 2016
Fathers do all these, mums do much more. They can easily switch places and try being the woman for a change.
Family › Re: My Husband Is Too Flirt! by byvan03: 7:09pm On Mar 18, 2016
Same stories, same solutions proffered , 0% effectiveness. Only you can take charge of your life, you can't control what he does, but you can control how it affects you. I have no solutions for you, we all know the solutions to our problems. Whatever will make you whine less, do it.

You have to understand that God will not deprive your spouse of free will because you want him to. Except he is under hypnosis of some sort, you probably might be disturbing God.
Family › Re: Eating Out! by byvan03: 1:28pm On Mar 18, 2016
This man's silly act isn't because he eats out, if it wasn't the food vendor, it could be his secretary. It's in him, even with a packed lunch, wandering eyes will always be busy.

If pampering your man was all it takes to keep a home happy, then certainly in the times where a woman was supposed to do nothing but care for her man, polygamy wouldn't exist. All the pampered husbands out there still cheating, what's their excuse?

It is dangerous for anyone to base their emotions in how you are treated in good times, because life won't always be like that and your emotions cannot always be in check. You will have ups and downs, you will have days when you simply cannot smile and say "all is well", when your kids come you will be exhausted to the point that taking a bath daily will become an achievement. You cannot be a perfect person. So what happens when a wife simply cannot be "all" for her man, does that mean he goes out looking for a replacment? Love and a good marriage is built on the tough times.
I wish I can buy you a drink, well said!!

If she op's mother chose to go and bring out her dirty cloth out for a girl she is meeting for the first time just to approve of their relationship, what will she do next give her cutlass to go and show her farming skills?. You cannot just asked other person's daughter to do your dirty laundry while your child is standing infront of you. The right thing to do is for the mother to ask op to wash her cloths if the girl decides to offer an helping hand fine if not op and his mother can go and create a woman for themselves...what nonsense just in the name of hoping to marry. Hope if op's girlfriend takes him to his father and he decides to ask to polish his shoes or wash his car the first day he is meeting him you would also advice the girl to encourage op to do it?.
Thank you!
Family › Re: My Mum VS My Girlfriend. by byvan03: 10:05am On Mar 18, 2016
I will tell her that I will do it when next I visit, their won't be a next. I have no business with disrespectful MIL to be, respect isn't the exclusive preserve of the very elderly. I expect his son to intervene at this point before things get awkward, because I won't wash, period .

What nonsense!

Hahahahahah. We will revisit this topic in a few years time

It also depends on the future you plan for your kids. I mean St Monica's knows zero about checkpoint exams so why enroll my child there. I will go for schools that are in line with my plans for them. I also told you earlier, environment plays a huge factor. If you've gott no good school around you then you really don't have an option. Who sends a 9yrs old child to boarding school. OYO is your case.

God forbid that my child's first experience of independence will be In a University. I saw first hand what it did to my friends in uni. No way! Let's do it now and make our corrections.

Meanwhile, you are just being emotional. Lmao! In their first year,I'm not sure I ever had a good nights rest for a whole year. Rotfl! I was hyperventilating!! Now I'm so cool and get to read their hilarious diaries. ( I asked them to keep diaries)

#Teamboarding #TeamCo-ED
Totally agree with Co ed, St Monica's used to be very good, may be it has changed since Lady Ezigbo retired. Considering boarding in SS might be in line but for JS, I won't dream of it. Most of them here in Js1 are 9yrs old. Thank God you agreed that 9years is still a baby grin. From SS classes, the child is pretty much formed with a voice and thought of his own.

Exactly, it depends on the future planned for the kids really. It's all good smiley. Don't even know if I can shout team Co ed if a daughter is involved lipsrsealed. Parenthood no be beans walahi!

Most good schools have zero tolerance for bullying. They. Also separate seniors and junior( both in school block, ref and hostel). They have limited interaction. My dear just give them good training and they won't disappoint you. Also schools have call days and visiting days.

Good schools give you access to their hostel area during open house. If they don't RUN AWAY!!! You can acess a school by looking at staff countenance o! I've mastered that one. Lol. ( That's my day job)

Calm down I'm sure when the time comes you will make the right decision. Meanwhile if you want home away from home just go and make plenty money cos "good soup na money make am".
No way dear, I will never want home away from home for them at that age : It's not home, its not home. Boarding school holds no appeal for me no matter how furnished. Zero tolerance for bullying but it still happens, you and I know that it can't be eradicated completely if we are going to be realistic and not patronising .

During open day only? Now that is just the usual, your child must have been there already before the open day, meaning you didn't access it before registering because I really doubted the part of giving a tour of the hostel to every parent that asked.

Like I said before, I work in this system and all you mentioned are just the very familiar. Nothing new really , these just won't cut it for me. Good training yes but I won't say am done training a 9 years old, then send off to boarding school. I will rather give child raising my best shot, most of these kids walk around with heavy hearts, no one to talk to. Lots of deep seethed issues but parents aren't just there to rely on. The only decision for me is day school, don't even need to think about.

The most important thing is that whichever we chose, works well for us.

The things I look out for in a boarding School

1. The environment( Security, well kept, classrooms etc)

2. Academic standard( check the Education board in the LGA)

3. The spiritual activity in the school

4. Scope the staff( once you walk into a school, you will know if its a war zone)

5. I watch the body language of every staff I come across including the heads.

6. Check the hostel accommodation.

7. Look out for parents that will give you an honest opinion

8. Prayerfully make your choice.

My children are in boarding school and I have no issues with the school. Well just one issue- they are over fed.
Will you do no 2 for every school you intend to check out? Are there no day schools that perform well according to the education board's record? As for the body language thing I don't get how that works. It means it might take consistent visiting to find out all these. I doubt if schools will give every parent access to their hostel area.

I think these things have more to do with what works for each family. I really can't sleep at night knowing their might be so many things my kids might want to express but won't because am not there to listen. I boarded, it has its highs but they aren't just enough for me. If a senior beats my kid and injure him in the name of being the prefect... no comment. I just can't deal mehn...

Actually most that I know of do not use maids or nanny services, you can't hate boarding schools and like maids.

Good answer. These days, we have children entering the Higher Institution at 16 or 17. What happens in this instance?. Will you prevent the kid from entering the higher institution if he/she passes JAMB or will the child be going for lectures from home until he turns 18?.
Higher institution is a different ball game, as long as you are under 18, you remain a child to me. So yes, I will weigh my pros and cons, then figure out what to do then. The issue now is secondary education, to board or not. I have more fears about this boarding thing than I will care to type. I work with kids in that system so my knowledge of how it works is first hand and I know what's obtainable .

Mmmm. You speak so cos you have goo day schools aroundd you. If you live in a place witth no sound school then you ontt have an option. I will choose boarding anyday. The most important tthing is to be careful while selecting the schools.
I attended boarding schools from 1-6 myself, I just don't like the idea of any one raising kids for me. I know good schools around your base that operate both boarding and day system . I can't do boarding no matter how good, I need to be there in those years that count.
