Hi guys.

A friend of mine was denied admission to a school for master in biomedical sciences in Bonn because they claimed he didn't have any modules in molecular biology and genetics

I'm not aware of that course being offered in Nigeria. He took several microbiology courses in school which includes genetics according to him.
Please is there a way to explain to them that such a course isn't offered at undergrad level in Nigeria and perhaps reconsider their decision ??

molecular biology and genetics is taught in naija as a separate course. I did a stand alone medical genetics module,while biochemistry students dey do molecular biology for my school.

The new passing grade wasn't what affected him.
Uniasst clearly erred in their conversion.

If the pass degree were to be scrapped ,then third class will be 1(lowest possible grade) ,second class lower will be 2,second class upper will be 3,while first class will be 4( highest possible grade).
If your grade was recalculated with the above stated indices, then you should arrive at something close to 2.5 or better.
Since D will be the new passing grade, E grade will be scrapped totally ,so D will be 1 while A will be 4 .

Its not funded by daad but by d department with some companies sponsoring dem. D course is MSc neuroscience and its a MSc/PhD program. U go straight to PhD after one year if ur grades are good and ur stipend increases to 1500€

The programme is uber competitive, just like the MSc neuroscience program in tuebingen which pays €800 monthly.
They mostly admit Germans and Indians, lol

That also would depend on the school.
But for majority of cases, your IELTS plus 1st year university transcript can get you admitted without entrance examination ,provided your grades in relevant subjects are above average .

You may or may not be admitted without ielts depending on the school .
But its better you sit for the ielts in order to broaden your horizons . Since most summer programs open their application by December , it is advisable you write the exam at least a month before commencement of application, so since you're for SS 2016, you can write your IELTS any moment from now till November .

use the www dot trackitonline dot org to track it. Note that the trackings are never up to date.

If the time is getting too near. I will advise you to package all the applications in one document and use FedEx, its 9k to Germany as at my last enquiry, I think it takes 3-5 days. Send everything as one file to somebody in Germany and let the person dispatch it for you. It will take 2-3 days to deliver using Deutsche Post from Germany and each will cost between 3-5 euros using the DP priority mail.
Nipost is cheap but the hypertension it gives I must confess is heart wrenching.

For people who are yet to send and are cash strapped, I will advise you make strategic alliances and send your documents collectively to one person in Germany using courier services and let the person dispatch on your behalf then you can pay the person in return.
That's the idea I thought I should share.

Use trackitonline. org ,though chances are that it hasn't been recorded there yet.

The reason why nipost does not provide tracking beyond item in bag is because ,they are no longer in charge of the documents/item immediately it leaves naija ......The national Post of the destination country provides tracking afterwards . As for Germany, I think its Deutschpost . They dont provide tracking immediately they receive the goods , they might not even provide tracking at all .
Using nipost is a Double edged sword .

I sent about 3 applications on 8/4/15 using nipost registered mail and up till now, no show yet nd about 2 applications among the three have 30/4/15 as deadline. any hope at all? The most annoying z dat I can't even track it. any info on how I could track it will be highly appreciated.

If you sent your applications from Lagos international branch ,then you're safe ,anyplace other than there means you're on a long thing .
22 days might not be enough to get the item delivered o ,though that's dependent on the nipost branch.
I'll suggest you contact the schools and enquire if it has been delivered, if they answer In the negative, then you'll have to send using an express post like DHL or FEDEX ( if you've got the cash)

Of all the couriers available ,DHL is still the cheapest for sending of documents and your documents gets to its destination within 3 days . It costs about 8,500 or less ,just tell them you're sending school docs.
Ems on the other hand is about 8,700 or so, takes about 5 working days but there's no guarantee your documents will arrive before the deadline .
FedEx and UPS are also reliable though I've got no idea about their charges.

Frankfurt offers international economics and economic policies in English . They also offer an uber competitive msc program "Money and Finance".
Like oracle eke407 said, English taught programme or otherwise, you still need a certain level of proficiency in German to make your stay worthwhile.

From my own experience , A notary public in Benin charged 2,500 for the first set of document,with each page having a seal and a stamp. There was a red seal on the front page of each document. The subsequent sets costs 2k with the aforementioned bling bling. According to him, he charges 10k for notarization but everything has a student price . He's at NBA office in Benin near high court ,for those in Benin and its environs.

As for DHL( Benin branch,I'm sure other branches shouldn't be different since its a company policy), sending of documents to schools is subject to a 40% discount,so DHL charged me 8370 and 8140 for two sets of documents on different days .( the difference in price is probably due to varying weight ).The DHL staff confirmed that their normal charge is 13,350 . It took 3 days for the documents to arrive Deutschland.
