Romance / Re: 10 Questions You Should Not Ask A Girl On A First Date by cahnellven: 4:06pm On Jan 04, 2015
Tell me more about why i shouldn't ask a gal any question i deem fit for the occassion just because you compiled a list of forbidden questions on the 'first' date .

There is no universal feminine behaviour/orientation,so some gals might even consider you bold, courageous and romantic if you ask daring questions.

AS FOR ME,I CAN ASK A GAL ANYTHING ,AT ANYTIME EVEN IF ITS ZERO/FIRST/LAST DATE PROVIDED I'M COMFORTABLE AROUND HER.

I just got the info from their biotechnology requirement page that a proof of proficiency letter can be used,.
.......success story will surely be ours. but after being successful never forget this wonderful thread, fellow brothers will need hel....be here for them

ok bro, best of luck .success will surely come our way.

i cant forget this inspiring thread.
Mr eke40seven has hit the nail on the head, and he hit it hard
After gaining so much from this thread, the least anyone can do is help others by providing reliable infos .

Like nevilbot rightly said,we need to avail ourselves with more info about how life really is in germany especially the first six months, that way we can empower ourselves even better for the challenges ahead.
This thread shouldnt be about getting visa alone,it should also be about survival tips and general information on how things work, challenges one can likely face and how to overcome them, hence we need the experienced folks to help us.

Can u compare Germany to Norway in terms of how easy it is to get part time jobs?

No country comes remotely close to germany in terms of part time jobs and a working social economy . In norway, there are plentiful jobs but the overall standard of living is higher than germany's and the pay is about the same, plus the country is damn cold .

Simply put, germany is better in all ramifications, but that doesnt negate the fact that norway is a great choice.

Brothers and sisters please help me thank the Lord for his Devine favour in my life, most of you read about my ugly incidents on the 30th of last month, when I was robbed of my passport and student visa and all my school certificates.l just arrived Germany today with my sister who is also my sponsor, my visa was isue on Friday ,and getting a new passport was a Devine connection,l spoke with about three immigration officers who told me nothing less than a hundred thousand naira for duration of four weeks, but imidiately my sister arrived she call some one in abuja who did it for 50 thousand and I got it in one week. Oh the embassy, God bless germans, the lady in charge of my file, was so kind and concern about my health after she read my email l sent to her . my school also never ceased senting me mail every now and then to know about my well being and that they are praying for me, the proffersor sent a very wonderful mail to the embassy that makes me to wonder why I deserve this favor, my amazing sister who never looked back spending her money on every move we make,l have not spend one naira since I started this journey till now,how can I ever pay back this woman who is more than a mother to me, God bless her with all the good things of life. Amen

Breathtaking testimony
The taxi driver drama was just a subplot to sweeten your incredible success story . It is evident that you're destined for greatness because even in the face of adversity and morale sapping obstacles, you eventually scaled through .
Now that you're in Deutschland, i implore thee to stay focused and make exploits .

You may be unable to repay your sister in cash or kind for her unwavering support and fabulous show of faith and solidarity . Her rewards is in Gods hand. Hers is a kind heart and God will bless her a thousand fold for her generous disposition towards you. God will sure bless her accordingly...
REMain blessed.

All thanks to God for making you actualise your dreams

Your ordeal will turn into testimony . No matter what you're going through at the moment ,just know the stage is already set for you to shine
I can't wait to hear your testimony, am doubly sure it's around the corner .

Try as the devil may, there is no room for maneuver ,the only way you can go from here is UP

thanks for the wonderful reply, that wnt be a big deal,if that all it takes..
moreover will I still nid to do toefl test?
and plz where can I learn this german language course in Nigeria? how long does it take to learn the lang?

Toefl is required for english taught courses, testDAF for german taught programmes and both for dual language(german and english)taught courses

You can learn geman at goethe institut in lagos . There are 6 proficiency levels(A1-C2) .Each level takes between 3 to 4 months to complete.

Most programmes requires at least B2 level for admission .

Your ND might not be enough for admission though. You need german abitur or other accepted substitutes like HND,GCE A LEVEL,1ST YEAR UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPT be4 u can b considered for admission in2 bachelor's programme .
To every rule there is an exception though,so u can contact schools for specific requirements
Eke40seven once saw someone that got admission with just O'LEVEL

GOOD LUCK

@cahnellven tanx a lot was trying to apply to university of Bremen I got to a stage where I was told to do some up loading which included my transcript but the school where I obtained my Bsc has refused to give me the transcript by hand what should I do.

hmmn hard one .
I guess your best bet is to inform your programme coordinator about what your school policy is.
Your school can then send the transcript to universitat bremen, thats assuming your programme allows you to do so

or

you can put pressure on your school here in naija,Make them see reasons why you need the transcript in person .i believe anything can happen if naira is involved

GOOD LUCK

That is not correct, with a dual language program you can't get admitted automatically if you don't prove your proficiency in German. To do so you require at least DSH-2 or TestDaf 4 in all sections. You can't use B1 knowledge to receive lectures and seminars. You must be proficient
Bros i know what am saying. You cant generalise cos no one knows it all.
Goethe uni, frankfurt offers a dual language course in cell physiology and the minimum requirement is b1 ,not testdaf.
in such programmes ,goethe institute b1 certificate will do the magic

please guys...

Generally german-english programes gives lectures in both languages . Most dual language programes utilises a 50/50 lecture sequence(equal number of lectures in both languages),though some programes might use more german or more english as the case may be . That being said, such dual language courses aren't much different from the ones entirely based on german in terms of requirements.u need at btw a2/b1 at the very least in that regard.

You need to be at least on conversational level(somewhere btw late a1 and a2) to get a job ,though there are exceptions . Generally, you need to be quite proficient in german to get a job as most job offerings are advertised in german.

There are a lot of student jobs available as our OGAS over there has made us belief provided you can speak a lil german. Some jobs pay quite a lot, others not so much depending on location and a host of other factors
.
Take care

The state with the least foreign borns, Saxony Anhalt, Dessau Institute of Architecture (Anhalt University, Dessau City.
As HARTZIV rightly pointed out, Magdeburg is a city, the capital of Saxony Anhalt.
On the other hand, another thing you should note, if location of the schools are of Paramount importance to you is this, the position of the city in relation to other importance cities.
We've got something in common there . Are you going for msc architecture?

magdeburg is a big city (no countryside)

frankfurt is very expenciv but the rest of the cities u mentioned are ok to study but i wouldnt decide based on the city only
important too:
- reputation of the university (in the field u want to study)
- do you like the orientations of the course (some universitys might focus on differnt things even if the name of the course is the same)
- do u like the offered Specialisation modules

Well said
Nice exposition from a great man.now i can narrow down my options ever further .

Oluwa (God) has been deeply involved..
Anyway, I use alot of materials.. I use duolingo which helps me with sprechen and a little horen(speaking and listening) when am stucked in traffic. download it on playstore if you have an android phone. or go to http://duolingo.com for the web version..

2) I use A1 books from Goethe.. thanks to one God sent angel from this group who is now in germany.. May God bless him wherever he is.. wink wink
I will be attending Goethe institute so as to perfect my Horen.. I am comfy with sprechen, Schreiben und lesen..

3) I use paul_goggle_teach_yourself_german..

hmmn. Thanks a lot .
i guess my hectic lecture schedule actually limits my commitment in a number of ways.
