Well in my school in naija 1cu equals 1 hour Labs, 1hr lectures and 1hr self study weekly. There are 14 lecture weeks in a semester. So we get 42hrs plus 2 hrs tutorials/revision .
In order words , 1 CU = 44 HOURS OF WORK

Hi everyone, on issues bothering on ECTS, I studied a 4-year course here in Nigeria, which is a total of 158 Credit units. Most European schools, German schools inclusive, require 180 ECTS for admission into their Master's programmes. In Europe, 1 academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS. I am quite confused if there is another way of converting Nigerian Credit system to ECTS because it appears my 4-year programme did not meet up with the 180 ECTS requirement. I therefore call on veterans and other contributors in the house to help shed more light on this.

Actually, 4 years of study in Nigeria should be 240 ects, with a year being 60 ects.
Though there is no standardized way to calculate it in Nigeria, but 1cu is roughly the equivalent of 44hrs of work (lectures, labs, tutorials and self study).
Compared to the ects which is 30 hours per ects point, then you can infer that our credit unit requires 14 hours( about 50 percent of 30) more work.

So your 158 CU should be about 237 ECTS credits.

At any rate, your 4 year study is greater than or equal to 180 ECTS.

Brother, I did my interview without primary school certificate. I know of about 7 peeps here who didn't go with primary school certificate, and they weren't even asked!!!

So bro, the checklist might carry nursery school certificate sef, it matters little

As far as I know , the primary school certificate isn't compulsory.
O'LEVEL certificate is compulsory though.

To the glory of God, embassy asked me to come and collect the visa. It came late, but it came all the same. The journey was rough but it ended in praise.

It's slightly more cumbersome.
Can be really frustrating and swift depending on the bank used

I think there's a workaround. Like me for example, the only reason why I would want to torrent would be to download softwares for school. Every other thing can be streamed. The only exceexception being pc games. Well if I really need to torrent that badly, I'd just get guys in 9ja who have unlimited Internet, have them torrent download the file I need and upload same to a cloud service from where I can safely download. Isn't efficient but should work.

So if should try preparing an abstract from it , can omit the data and graphs ? (that's the most important part of the work ) . Or what do you suggest I do ?

pls guys, ensure u save ur thesis and other vital documents like that in ur inbox as draft that's the mistake u made. Even u can duplicate them .

pls I need more suggestions on what I should do .

As far as i know, the abstract is the summary of the project . Graphs cannot /shouldn't be in the abstract as it can't /shouldn't exceed one page

I believe everyone should have a copy of his/her thesis and you can easily get the abstract from there.

I received an email yesterday from Uni-assist, requesting that I should send my "bachelors thesis" as part of the requirements for my application. I recently applied to South Westphalia university and didn't see that as a requirement on their website. The problem now is that I don't even have the soft copy anymore. Its an engineering project with lot of graphs generated using an engineering software, therefore I can't easily reproduce another soft copy. I will send them hard copy .

my questions:
1- Have anyone experienced this before ? I really need to know whats going on and why are they demanding for it .

2- I have spent a lot in sending documents and making payments to uni-assist, pls is there anyone maybe traveling soon ..likely next week ... that could help me send it ?

3- For an incomplete application, like the case I mentioned above , if I decide to apply to another school , do I make another payment or do I still have the €75 charged for the incomplete application? (lol )

I submitted my Bachelor thesis in one of my application.
In this case, the Bachelor thesis does not mean the full work, but the abstract, as it contains all the vital aspects of the work, from materials and methods to conclusions and recommendations.
If it's a soft copy that's needed, convert the abstract to pdf and upload.

As far as I'm concerned, nobody was busted.

Because someone wants to go to Germany doesn't mean he can't try other countries.

His story might indeed be genuine, cos I've seen it happened before, yes, German embassy at times send that mail without funding.
Someone here was present on his interview day and knows him personally.
So he will waste his money for visa fee just because he wants you to believe his story abi?

What you need to work on is the ease at which you throw in the towel...Life is tough u ve to be tough to survive..To me you have no problem the only challenge u have is the 8k euros simple...

there is nothin to imagine there, I wrote the test too in 2014, same with the guy who did his interview with me ...the outcome of the test is for the embassy in naija, if it is successful you documents will be forwarded to the auslanderbehorde in germany if not, they ask you to come get ur stuff ..if thats the case you can always appeal on grounds that you were not prepared for the test and all that, my friend did that and will be graduating soon.

I know its hard for you now..but my advise is look for the 8k and worryless abt the test or the interview and also try to grow some skin baba life is tough coming to Germany wont make it any easier..

You can still give it a shot. Don't loose hope, if your money is ready, proceed with the funding .
While at it, don't forget to intimate your coordinator about your predicament .
Immediately after your interview, you can start asking him to help you push the alien office to fast track your application . Someone got his visa in 9 working days, so the odds ain't entirely stacked against you.

When going for the interview, try to stay around obalende areas . I believe someone gave you an address of a cheap hotel in that axis when you wanted to go for blocked account opening.
Be prayerful..... All hopes ain't lost yet

Was at the German embassy today, unfortunately for me I was not admitted in cos I was 15min late, left abbulegba by 4.30am got to the embassy at 7.15am. The man at the gate collected my app. letter came back wit the app letter and circled 7.0am on my app letter including "sorry u are late". wat do I do now cos I am confused, it is already certain I will not be having my interview today.

This is really sad.
Mail the embassy and explain what happened to them.
Hopefully, they will reschedule you.

You might have to add a story that would make them pity you.
