My rule in Nigeria stock market is: Invest in a fundamentally sound company whose PAT Q/Q result and EPS is enticing. Enter at a very good price, follow up on any news concerning the company, exercise patience, sit back on my couch and watch the magic... |

One thing is clear. Stock trading is gambling. I disagree with you bro. If you understand and follow the rules, it could be a gold mine. |

TLAX: I talked to my friend Bob Zoellner several times a day, and he taught me how to analyze market action. For example, when the market gets good news and goes down, it means the market is very weak; when it gets bad news and goes up, it means the market is healthy."

debenzd: I think its very unfair to vilify Yok. This is something you can do yourself if you go to this website. I have my own excel sheet where I do my analysis everyday and you can see the change in numbers yourself. FCMB did about 192.9m on the 28th of Feb. They usually do not buy in one day. They buy over a period of time. Here is the link. https://www.globalxfunds.com/funds/nge/
Scroll down to the full details and download. Do the comparison yourself. We really need to respect people who help with information. You can chose to use it or ignore it. Yok is doing a great work. I highly commend him for his dedication towards this thread. I always look forward to his update every morning. I really think there is something about this FCMB that is not yet obvious to us. We eagerly anticipate their audited 2017 result. |

Cadillac15: Let me burst your bubble. I have thoroughly reviewed Fidelity. They will not pay more than 25kobo dividend this year. Expect a very sharp fall after that dividend expectation wanes off. Like every other good stock such as uba, gtb, zenith, fbnh, access, dangote sugar/flour etc...it is expected that the price will go down before/after closure date. But it is also an opportunity for discerning investors after due diligence to load more in expectation of a good q1 2018 result which could lead to further appreciation in price. |

currentprice: ...and i will be happy to join by then and we will all happy at the end
not buy based on hope for now, if i do weting i come learn from oga wanaj0 Currentprice you have said it all. We do not buy stocks based on hope...although this does not apply to the professionals and deep pockets in the game. They know how to ride on the waves... What is happening in fcmb/diamond is plainly sentiment or hope that going forward the result would be great. As traders, we do not buy stock based on assumptions...we buy based on what we read and see with our eyes... . The price might get to 2 but would retrace afterward unless the q4 result is good. In my opinion, transcorp numbers is not that bad and i agree with Oga Loco, that it could delivery 100% if the q1 2018 result is good. |

Happy New Year in advance to every member of this thread. Congrat oga Leo. I also know someone from this forum that made 6X profit his annual income. NSE can make you rich and retire young and early. I am also very sure that Oga's like Sellydion, fusxer, wanajo, Currentprice, Rabbidoracle and Emmanuelewumi made far more than u can imagine. One of my greatest asset this year was reading the book " How to make money in stocks" by Williams J O'niel. That's is my gift to the newbies on this forum. If you strictly follow the simple but yet effective rules outlined in that book, you are sure to be successful in the NSE. |

Parisfran: I get the idea of value investing, I encouraged my folks to buy FBNH at N 3.5. I didn't have the money to buy at the time but I saw the value.
But that doesn't mean every crooked looking stock is going to be a value machine in 9 months. Until I see 2017 YE results, DB remains a bad buy. Never neglect the value of fundamentals before buying into a company's stock. That's the only reviving factor when the price goes down cos u know it would surely go up again. U're correct on your view of diamond bank. The fundamentals are not currently in a good shape. But we are watching it closely.....waiting for either the Q4 2017 or Q1 2018 result to make a decision. |

'Everyone is a "guru" in a bullish market' I think its quite a long time since you left the nigeria stock market. Online trading started since 2014 and one of the early pioneers is Morgan capital group nigeria. Currently, most investment houses have adopted this means of trading. |

Cadillac15: That's the unfortunate irony bro. Wether you accept it or not, posts here affect the movement of small cap stocks in NSE. Only the big Caps are immuned for now because members don't have the capacity to move the prices. I was a guest of this thread for years before I registered my presence here and I can bet my DF shares that 80%+ of the movers of the market come here to guage stock sentiment before making up their minds.
Why do you think caverton, ci leasing, etal, started moving when u started your speech? Anyway, post responsibly My brother, I am 100% with you on this issue cos I noticed it myself especially with caverton. Carverton price was roving around 1.25 but immediately he started drawing the attention of the stock..within a week, there was a spike in the price....needless to say on cileasing. Do not underrate the calibre of people that view this thread. This thread made Morgan capital popular and what it is today! |

yok: WHERE MSCI INVESTED ADDITIONAL FUNDS ON 6 DECEMBER 2017/SOME EQUITIES APPROACHING RESISTANCE LEVELS
For 6 December 2017. MSCI uploaded on Dangote Sugar, Diamond and Fidelity. No wonder those equities were good gainers for that day.
The Equities that are close to major resistance level includes: Dangote Sugar, Fidson. For Transcorp, this level of NGN1.53 seems to be a liquidation point for some major holders, previous posts on this forum have indicated this. Let us see if Transcorp will go past this level in this bull season.
The problem of Transcorp seems to be the fact that so many people have loaded up immediately after the release of the 3rd Quarter report, but price failed to advance as expected (see daily chart of 15 October, level has been strong since July 2017) and as at now are in a loss/just want to breakeven and get out.
Below were the additions by MSCI. I will continue to monitor this, but may now be weekly or monthly. If want the excel sheet, you can e-mail me.
Caution: Investing is a risky venture. This is just my opinion and I cannot be liable for any loss suffered as a result of following this recommendation All data used are assumed to be correct, but you may need to verify some of the figures independently. My brother, well done for your enlightening post. I sent you an email since yesterday but you are yet to reply. |
