Webmasters / Re: How Do I Fix This Issue To Get Google Adsense Approval To Show Ads On My Blog by CallMeDrino: 1:45am On Apr 10, 2020
Ababbio:

thank you so much my site URL is www.insidenaija.com.ng

How genuine are you contents?

Firstly, I advice that you change your theme to a free, lighter and also AdSense friendly one.

Make sure your theme doesn't have footer link that leads to another site.

Many of your contents are even small with 3, 4 paragraphs. You should consider looking for contents with at least 10 paragraphs then rewrite!, take your time to rewrite...

For example, if you copy a content with 10 paragraphs, edit/rewrite the first 3 paragraphs, jump to the 5 and 6 paragraphs and rewrite likewise the last 2 paragraphs.

When doing so, make sure you take your time to write it so that the contents will look genuine.

This works for me 90% of the time!.

Lockdown: Soldiers Storm Gbagada Expressway, Punishes Fitness Enthusiasts

Law enforcement authorities, including soldiers, have dispersed fitness enthusiasts on Gbagada expressway in Lagos after residents raised alarm over the incident which violated the social distancing order by the government.

Chief Press Secretary of the Governor of Lagos, Gboyega Akosile, said on Wednesday on that soldiers ‘swung into action’ to prevent recurrence of the incident.

He said: “Stay At Home but you MUST go out in the name of exercises. So the Nigerian security agencies including the army, have swung into action to make it easier for them to burn the calories this morning on Gbagada Expressway. This looks like frog jump.”

The Federal Government had on March 30 imposed a 14-day lockdown on Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory as part of measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Politics / Coronavirus: Kwara Govt Orders Total Lockdown In Offa by CallMeDrino: 8:19pm On Apr 07, 2020
Kwara State Government has ordered ‘total lockdown’ in Offa town following the confirmation of two cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the ancient town.

A statement on Tuesday evening by the Deputy Governor/Chairman, Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19, Kayode Alabi, said the shutdown would become effective from 6 pm on Wednesday.

The statement said the directive was pursuant to the Kwara State Infectious Diseases (Emergency Prevention) Regulation 2020.

“The shutdown means total restriction on every vehicular movement into or from Offa. The exceptions to this directive are those contained in the recent address of Mr President which granted access to vehicles transporting foodstuffs, poultry and pharmaceutical products,” Mr Alabi said.

“Any other movement, private or commercial is hereby banned for the next 14 days or until such a time the government is satisfied that our people are no longer at risk of mass infections arising from the two cases that have been traced to the town.”

According to the statement, violators are liable to punishments outlined in the Kwara State Infectious Diseases (Emergency Prevention) Regulation 2020.

Alabi added in the statement: “Various security agencies, including the police and the Nigerian Navy, have been drafted to enforce this directive while His Royal Highness the Olofa of Offa has been fully briefed.

“We urge our people to please bear with us in this tough period. The human community is certain to come out of this pandemic stronger and better. The government calls for timely report of any suspicious case of COVID-19.

“Anyone with travel history to frontline states, the America or European countries and others in the last three weeks should please contact the Kwara State Technical Committee for relevant advisory.

“Arrangements have been made to distribute palliatives to the poorest of the poor to assist them in this trying time. This will happen before the week runs out. The categories of the people to receive the palliatives are strictly the aged, the physically challenged, widows/widowers, poor artisans, and any other needy group that the ward-based committee on palliatives deem qualified for the food stuffs.

“This committees comprise traditional rulers, religious leaders and local Community Based Organisations whose duty is to monitor the exercise. We want to clarify that this palliative cannot go round. It is targeted strictly at the poorest of the poor in the belief that they are the most affected at this time.”

The deputy governor said claims that one of the two suspected COVID-19 cases had died was false.

“They both remain stable and asymptomatic at this time,” he said in the statement.

Crime / LagosiansTake Fitness Exercise To Ikorodu. Desert Gbagada Expressway by CallMeDrino: 6:38pm On Apr 07, 2020
Lagosians on Tuesday morning deserted Gbagada expressway for another location to continue their fitness exercise amid the lockdown order to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the state.

This is coming barely 24 hours after some concerned residents called the Lagos state government to take action against the violators.

It was earlier reported social media users were outraged as some residents of the state took over Gbagada expressway on Monday for exercise in violation of the social distancing and lockdown order by the government.

However, on Tuesday morning, the fitness enthusiasts who feared that the government might take action against them decided to move change the location of their fitness exercise to Ikorodu road down to Haruna and Agric bus stops.

Health / Nigerian Health Worker Dies Of Coronavirus In UK by CallMeDrino: 1:15pm On Apr 07, 2020
A Nigerian woman, Carol Jamabo, has died of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United Kingdom, reportedly becoming the first healthcare worker to be identified publicly after succumbing with the virus.

The 56-year-old worked as a carer in the community for Cherish Elderly Care in Bury, Greater Manchester, but fell ill around a week before her death last Wednesdayl.

Jamabo, a mother of two, moved to the UK from Nigeria in the early 1990s. She has served the public as a care worker for over 25 years.

She previously worked in both the prison service and as an NHS administrator at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London.
The devout Christian moved to Bury to be closer to her two children, Tonye Selema, 25, and Abiye Selema, 22.

According to the family, Abiye, a student at Leeds University, has also now tested positive for the virus.

Ms Jamabo was taken to a hospital after she fell ill. She did not have any major underlying health conditions except asthma.

Her nephew, Dakuro Fiberesima, from Purfleet, Essex, said she was transferred to an intensive care unit and put on a ventilator at Salford Royal Hospital when her condition worsened.

“It happened so rapidly. No one was by her side. With the ventilator decision, you just get a call they are planning to turn the ventilator off,” Mr Fiberesima said.

“You wonder if you were there, whether that would make a difference? She was such a popular person, there would have been people there to fight her corner so to speak.

“The youngest son is in a terrible position. He was extremely close to her. He was living with her. She was just an amazing aunt.”

Fiberesima has opened a Go Fund Me account to seek help for the family to pay for her funeral costs.

“She was a fun loving person with many friends and will be remembered for her uplifting, joyful and enthusing personality,” he wrote in a tribute to her.

Over £5,260 has been raised for the family, surpassing the target of £4,500 required to pay for the funeral.

Politics / Coronavirus: Nigerians To Pay For Their Flight As FG Plans Evacuation by CallMeDrino: 6:48pm On Apr 03, 2020
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday, directed all its missions abroad to compile lists of willing Nigerians who requested to return home.

This comes amid request by Nigerians stranded abroad in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, made the disclosure in a statement signed by the commission’s spokesman, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.

According to Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, the interested Nigerians are advised to inform the missions in the various countries they are in, who will then collate and coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She, however, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had instructed that the financial implications would be borne by the prospective evacuees, who will be compulsorily quarantined when they returned.

The NIDCOM boss said that while embassies in several countries were also on lockdown, those interested could also go online and fill a form provided on the commission’s website.

Travel / COVID-19: You’ll Pay For Your Evacuation Flight From Nigeria - US Tells Citizens by CallMeDrino: 3:06pm On Mar 31, 2020
The United States’ Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria has said that its citizens would pay for evacuation flights following the outbreak of the coronavirus.

As of Tuesday, there are 135 cases of the pandemic in Nigeria. The number is expected to increase in the coming days.

A mail sent to a US citizen in Nigeria made available to Global Times stated that evacuation flights had been confirmed for the week and that travellers would bear the cost for the flight.

“The U.S. Consulate in Lagos has confirmed evacuation flights for this week. Flights will depart from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and fly directly to Washington-Dulles International Airport in Virginia (Washington, D.C.),” the mail read.

The mission said US citizens who have space on the flight would receive a confirmation letter sent to the e-mail provided in the evacuation request form.

“Please DO NOT come to the airport unless you have received a letter indicating that you have a seat on the flight. You will be turned away and not allowed to enter the airport,” the mail further read.

“Please note that this evacuation flight is a one-way flight at the expense of the traveler(s). No money is required upfront. All individuals who choose to return to the United States on a flight organized by the U.S. Department of State will be required to sign a promissory note to reimburse the government for the full cost of each seat on the flight. The anticipated cost of the flight is between $1,300 and $1,400 per person.

“Travelers will be responsible for arranging and funding their own travel from the Washington, D.C. area to their final destination, and for any return flight to Nigeria. The U.S. Department of State is unable to assist with identifying resources or providing funding for housing, food, or transportation in Nigeria or within the United States.”

It also said pets would not be allowed to accompany travellers as either cargo or in-cabin on the flight.

“Additional information will be sent out by e-mail regarding baggage restrictions with your specific flight details,” it said.

The mail further read: “The U.S. Embassy in Abuja is working to arrange a similar flight from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Once a flight has been confirmed, the Embassy will release flight information and instructions.

“Those who are interested in returning to the United States via Abuja should click here and enter their information. If you plan to travel on the Lagos flight, please do NOT submit your information to the Embassy in Abuja.”

A tweet by the mission on Tuesday advised American citizens to abide by health rules provided by the Nigerian government.

“The U.S. Mission to Nigeria plans to continue to operate and continue the important work of representing the American people here. We ask Americans who remain in Nigeria to join us in abiding by the rules the Nigerian Government has established to keep us all healthy and safe,” it said.
