Hi everyone, it's no longer news that tomorrow is the long awaited black Friday and I believe we all have that one or two gadgets we're planning on buying tomorrow. But wait, there are some security tips you should be aware of. As you are getting ready for that shopping spree tomorrow so also are hackers/fraudsters getting ready to swindle people out of their hard earned money. So before you start shopping tomorrow, you need to take these simple steps: 1) Make Sure Your Apps & Antivirus Are Up To Date: The rational behind this is very simple, app developers are constantly updating their apps to fix one or two security lapses,so if your app isn't up to date you are vulnerable to hackers who exploit these loopholes to gain access to your phone/system. Another one like this is to update your antivirus, the importance of doing this is so clear that I don't think I have to say anything about it. 2) Look Out For The GREEN locked Padlock/Shield: Now this is so important that I'll tell you right away that if you are about to make ANY transaction online and you can't see this locked padlock or shield on the address bar of the website you are on, better RUN for your life. This is because those in charge of internet security puts these security badge ONLY on websites they've verified to be genuine. As you shop tomorrow, be sure to look out for this security badge. 3) Check For Customer Reviews: Be very mindful that you check what other people are saying about the product you are about to buy, more so check to see what people are saying about the online shop you are buying from. This is so important cos on a day like black Friday, so many fraudsters are on the loose looking for whom to defraud. Just know that the less the reviews on the product, the more careful you should be before parting with your money. There you have it, just be safe as you buy things tomorrow. As for me, I am going to buy the "White House". As usual, if you have any question ask using the comment box below as we would like to hear from you. Hemanwel:if u don't see anything there it means u didn't give any app permission to post on ur facebook wall. |
yeah, one just has to be careful of what one clicks on, on all these social networks. |
Hi friends, recently most people have been complaining about some unknown people posting nude pictures and videos on their Facebook timeline/walls and on Facebook groups they belong to. This can be very embarrassing as your friends will start seeing you as a very irresponsible person. So what do you do when your friends start complaining to you that you are sending nude pictures and videos to them and you know within yourself that you ain't the one sending them these pictures and videos. If you have ever been in such a scenario, relax cos today we're going to tell you how to stop those pictures from your wall. >>> The first and MOST important thing to do when your friends tell you that someone is sending them nude pics/videos using your account is to change your Facebook password. These hackers might have accessed your account through a "phishing" link (we'll talk about this later), so what you need to do is to reset your password immediately. To see the best way to choose a very strong password click here. So now you've changed your Facebook password, but wait! Some of your friends are still complaining that they're still getting the nude pics from your Facebook account, not to worry here's the next step to take. >>> If after changing your password and this issue continues, that means you must have given permission to some malicious apps to post on your behalf on your Facebook Wall. SO WHAT DO YOU DO ![]() It's quite easy, just go to your Facebook settings, click on "Apps" from there you'll the list of apps on that have access to your Facebook account, click on any one of them you suspect and delete it. Or to be on the safer side, just delete ALL the apps you see their and then you can now re-add ONLY the apps you trust. After doing these, the pics/ videos will stop appearing on your timeline cos the app posting it have been deleted. So there you have it, do you have any question NOT covered by this post, feel free to ask your questions using the comments box below. PS: As a general rule, it's advisable to be very careful about what you click on while surfing the internet and Facebook shouldn't be an exception. . .
