Your smartphone is quickly replacing your PC as the primary device where you shop, bank, and store your personal information. That means it’s becoming an attractive target for cybercriminals who want to get their hands on your passwords and private information. Luckily, with some care and the use of the right tools, you can protect yourself from criminals with plans to hijack your phone or access the sensitive data you keep on it. Here are a few security tips for owners of Android smartphones. Keep your software updated Your operating system and your applications will regularly receive software updates. As annoying as they can be, these updates often address known security vulnerabilities in the software. So be sure to check for regular updates and download them. To save on mobile data costs, update Android and your apps on a Wi-Fi connection. Lock your screen Lock your screen behind a pattern, PIN, password, or a fingerprint (if your phone has a biometric reader) to protect your data from a thief and prevent him or her from running up your phone bill. Turn off cookies and autofill Switch off autofill in your browser settings. This feature, which stores and automatically enters logins and passwords for web sites, can expose you to privacy and security risks. If you want a convenient way to securely store and manage multiple passwords, rather use an app like 1Password. This tool creates strong, unique passwords for every site, remembers them, and logs you in with a single tap. Download apps from trusted sources Download apps only from trusted sources such as the official Google Play and Amazon app stores. The official app stores scan apps for malware and spyware, offering you a little more protection than you’d get by simply downloading apps from a random web site offering ‘free’ apps. Don’t download Android Package files (APKs) from the web, since they bypass app store certifications and may contain malware. Install an anti-virus app Your Android smartphone can scan for malware, but an antivirus app can give you a little more peace of mind. Have a look at the Google Play Appstore to see which ones fit your needs and your budget. Back up your data Be sure to back up your data in case your smartphone gets lost, stolen, or damaged. You can do a manual backup to the cloud or find an app to automatically back your data up for you. This will ensure that you can get your information back easily if something happens to your device. Turn on the Android Device Manager The Android Device Manager allows you to remotely lock, wipe, and locate your device if it goes missing. With Android Device Manager, you will be able to locate and ring your phone if you misplace it. To set up this feature, look at the security function in your settings manager. Once you’ve configured it, you can access Android Device Manager from any web browser, and gain access to your smartphone. If you are waiting for me to say that the "No Phone" is a phone with very low specifications, sorry to disappoint you. This is because the "No Phone" is exactly what it says it is, a "No Phone". What do I mean by this? This is a phone with no touch screen, no battery, and not even a screen. Now does that sound like a phone you would use? Well the "No Phone" is a useless phone because u can't make a call with it, even an SMS with the phone isn't possible. According to the manufacture "It comes in three models: the $5 NoPhone Zero that’s completely featureless and looks like a slab, the $10 NoPhone with completely fake ports and buttons and the $15 NoPhone Selfie with a fake camera plus a mirror. All three ‘phones’, or NoPhones, do nothing. According to Van Gould, a co-founder of the company behind fake phone company: NoPhone simulates the exact weight and dimensions of your most beloved gadget in order to alleviate any feelings of inadequacy generated by the absence of a real smartphone. Surprisingly, it has already sold over 4,000 copies. The Kickstarter campaign that birthed NoPhone raised $18,000 and it began in 2014. This fake phone may be totally useless but then, if you’re addicted to your smartphone and yo can’t seem to keep your hands off it, having this fake phone with you instead of your real smartphone sometimes might help you you develop some restraint. A testimonial on the website says: Now I can eat food without taking photos of it. Thanks NoPhone. Another one says: Because of the NoPhone, I haven’t drunk texted my ex boyfriend in one whole week. Want to cure your smartphone addiction? The NoPhone is being sold on thenophone.com. Are you going to get this phone As for me: "No Comment".Source: http://www.oddytech.com.ng/2015/12/have-you-seen-no-phone-its-worlds-most.html?m=0

Sirex:Believe me, if una try tech these guys NEGGing, within since days they go come back here dey cry say d girl don leave them. REM say some guys get very bad mouth. |
Rajman45:FIRST OF ALL, make sure d VCOM drivers installed correctly(I believe u must have seen d instructions on how to do that). NEXT: After following d instructions to where you are told to "switch off ur phone n connect it to d system via USB cable". When u connect ur phone n nothing happens, jst remove d back of ur phone, and u'll see at d top where "Reset" is written. use a pin or tiny broom to press d hole beside where they wrote that "reset", this will prompt d ROM upgrade to start downloading. Tak kia. |
NONE OF D ABOVE. What I do is SWIPE... |
Na to put d phone for washing machine remain naaahhh. |
HeavenlyBang:Yeah, gionee m3 has ALL that's listed above apart from 4G LTE #TeamGioneeM3 |

jaiyejina:Hating because of lollipop? The truth is dt there's NO LOLLIPOP upgrade for gionee P4. And if u check this thread u'll see dt am not even using gionee p4, am using gionee m3,which I've upgraded to lollipop way back in August(u can check that out too in d M3 thread). Anyway, IF anyone wants to buy ur phone d person shud do ahead n do so. BUT d person shouldn't do so cos he thinks d phone is UPGRADED to lollipop because that's a VERY BIG LIE. CIAO!!! |
jaiyejina:Guy am trying to be civil here, but that seems to be way out of ur league. All am saying is dt u shud not lie dt d phone is UPDATED to android 5.0.2, while in essence what u really did was to jst FLASH a custom ROM that is on version 5.0.2. If u wanna sell ur phone tell d whole TRUTH abt d condition of d phone, and don't DECEIVE ur fellow Nigerians jst because u wanna sell ur phone. As for d hating No comment on that sir. |
jaiyejina:But in ur post u said it's upgraded to Android 5, that's a LIE. If u had said that it's on a custom ROM with Android 5 version, I wouldn't have had any issue with what u wrote. SHALOM!!! |
Miss lalasticlala come n help people so they won't be DEFRAUDED tomorrow ooh... |
Beware of 419ners as u shop tomorrow. |
