You’ll notice that Windows versions are split separately, unlike OS X. Many of the vulnerabilities across various Windows versions are the same, so there is undoubtedly a lot of overlap. The argument for separating them is probably one ofmarket share, though that’s a hard one to agree to, given that Android and iOS are not split into separate versions. This is the nature of CVEs. It’s also worth pointing out that the Linux kernel is separate from various Linux distributions. This is likely because the Linux kernel can be upgraded independently of the rest of the operating system, and so its vulnerabilities are split off. Which software had the most publicly disclosed vulnerabilities this year? The winner is none other than Apple’s Mac OS X, with 384 vulnerabilities. The runner-up? Apple’s iOS, with 375 vulnerabilities. Rounding out the top five are Adobe’s Flash Player, with 314 vulnerabilities; Adobe’s AIR SDK, with 246 vulnerabilities; and Adobe AIR itself, also with 246 vulnerabilities. For comparison, last year the top five (in order) were: Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Apple’s Mac OS X, the Linux Kernel, Google’s Chrome, and Apple’s iOS. These results come from CVE Details, which organizes data provided by the National Vulnerability Database (NVD). As its name implies, the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) system keeps track of publicly known information-security vulnerabilities and exposures. I know there are some things you have been doing wrong in the past year, maybe because you didn't know the implications of doing these. But today, I am going to bring to your notice some of the implications of doing these things. 1. Using the same passwords for multiple sites: Using the same password on multiple sites is trouble because if any one of those sites is hacked, that information could be used against you in many different places. Yes, it's inconvenient to have multiple passwords if you are relying only on your memory. That's why it's a good idea to give a password manager like LastPass a chance. If you've never tried a password manager, it can store your usernames and passwords for you, it can generate new passwords for you, and is accessible online. Not backing up your photos: I'll never forget the panic of almost losing hundreds of photos of my newborn because I didn't regularly sync my phone to my PC. There are plenty of options out there. If you like Google, you can use either Google+ on iOS or the Photos app on Android to set up auto backup. If you're an Amazon Prime subscriber, you get unlimited storage of your photos as well with the Amazon Cloud Drive app. 3. Not minding your Facebook settings: It's easy to visit Facebook, see what your friends are up to, and post your own status updates. However, when was the last time you took a look to see what content you were posting and who could see it? Diving into those Facebook settings can seem like a nightmare. But believe me it's something you should be doing often. OEMs and developers are already preparing to show of their latest products and inventions in the next Consumer Eletcronic Show (CES) that’s just a few weeks away. Samsung is expected to unveil three new products from its secret lab called C-Lab (Creative Lab). One of these products is called WELT which is actually a smart belt. This should come as no surprise. The smart belt is designed to monitor users’ health. More precisely, it can record the user’s waist size, eating habits and the number of steps taken daily. This belt too can also monitor the amount of time spent sitting down. This smart belt looks like a normal belt and it offers a more discreet way of using wearables for health monitoring. According to a statement released on Samsung’s website, this belt sends collected data to a special app for analysis. region. Blueboo is another Chinese OEM and
the company just teased its first triple-SIM
Android smartphone, Bluboo Xfire. Blueboo Xfire clearly isn’t the first triple- SIM phone in history, there have been several Chinese phones in the past with this feature and they even managed to pack UHF/VHF TV on them back then. And in 2013, another Chinese company claimed to have the world’s first triple-SIM Android smartphone and even showed it in a Youtube video . In 2014 too, LG released LG Optimus L1 II Tri E475, a triple-SIM Android phone running Android 4.1.2 Jellybean. However, Bluboo Xfire seems to be the world’s first Android phone with a 5-inch screen and the fact that it’s ridiculously cheap gets it massive media coverage. The device will have a HD resolution 720 x 1280 pixels. The device will be powered by a MediaTek quad-core chipset, MT6580. There isn’t much details on the specifications at the moment but it’s rumored that the device will be launched by January 2016. From the image, it appears users will either use 2 SIM cards plus a microSD card or 3 SIM cards. We will publish more information about this device as more details come in. I know most of my friends who've been asking if it's possible to use two WhatsApp apps on the same phone. Today am telling you that it's now possible. To get this done we'll need just one extra app called "GBWhatsApp", yeah I know some of you who were banned by WhatsApp when they were using "WhatsApp +" would be skeptical about using this app, but trust me this app comes with "anti-ban" so WhatsApp won't be able to ban. And if it'll make you feel safer, I've been using this app since September 2015 and I've never for once been banned. What To Do: - First of all download GBWhatsApp from HERE,hey do not fear the app does not require rooting. At this stage I believe that you already have the normal WhatsApp installed on your phone, if not, install the normal WhatsApp now. - After doing that you now install the GBwhatsapp that you downloaded from the link above. - After installing the GB WhatsApp, when setting up the app you'll be asked for your phone number just like in the normal WhatsApp. Please DO NOT use the same number you're using in your normal WhatsApp because doing so will "knock-out" your phone number from the normal WhatsApp. Rather put your second phone number when asked for number verification on your GB WhatsApp, once the phone number is verified you are good to go. The most arguement i mostly get from my friends is this "It's my Facebook Wall and i have the right to post whatever i want on it". Well, read this article before saying that the next time you want to say so. Perhaps it’s time to be a little more careful with how you use social media. Social media is already influencing job search in some countries but in the coming year, your social media posts may influence your US visa application. According to the the Wall Street Journal, the US Department of Homeland Security is already set to put into place protocols to examine how visa applicants use the social media. This means your posts on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks may get your visa application approved or denied. Under this new policy, checking an applicant’s posts on Facebook and Twitter may become standard for visa application. This is obviously driven by the recent San Bernardino shooting where one of the attackers had already made use of social media to express her support for extremism. Most of these social media posts were made before she even applied for the US visa and a simple background check on social media activities probably would’ve prevented her entry to the US in the first place. Statement sent to Business Insider by the Department of State Security said: "In fact over the past year, under secretary Johnson's leadership, the department initiated three pilot programs to specifically incorporate appropriate social media review into its vetting of applicants immigration benefits. The department is actively considering additional ways to incorporate the use of social media reviews in its various vetting programs". There isn’t much much information on this right now and the DHS is keeping a lid on how the plan is going to be carried out but given the present situation of increased terrorism in Europe, getting into the US is going to be a lot harder. What you consider a normal Facebook post might raise a red flag. As an individual, perhaps it’s time to be more careful on social media. Your posts on Facebook and Twitter may later affect you.
