youngRx:

honestly, it's scary to imagine what this thread will be like in the next 10months sef. especially with this generation of participants that are unwilling to share detailed PPR stories and those that don't even see the importance of sharing one in the first place.
That anyone will even oppose the idea of making people share PPR gists, and still get likes for it, makes me shudder. The psychological effect of those stories in easing the rollercoaster of emotions associated with this journey alone is something I'll forever be grateful for.

Already, the greats are leaving one by one. Mighty Newmum and her unmatched NOC skills is gone...now it takes a whole team of seniors to help people decipher their NOC. something she does singlehandedly o....lolzz.

Link master Smslive, Tojued the guru, & IELTS master wasseynewest have japa'ed. You hardly see their posts. Page one master, uncle Joo, will follow. soon, lord Thanos ifeoma77 will fade away with a snap of her fingers & prof Ralph will follow suite.

i just pray my PPR lands before Ladymarshall , lord topsmamen and the few others sustaining this thread finally leave.

between, where's Tojued the great? she hasn't said Hi in a long time.

1. Thanks to everyone on this thread. Started the Canada journey in 2017 after so many years of trying to get scholarships to study abroad.

I surrendered all to God... Told Him not to put me to shame cos trust me, thoughts were coming as to why I didn't just go and sponsor later... As worries set in I raised cse and wrote a painful piece, they replied saying they'll try to make it faster but I should forward all enquires directly to AVO.... I sent same message to AVO and till now I didn't get a reply... Till now my GCMS note hasn't come... Thank God for this group for our joint prayers and moral support...

In the 3 months payslips I submitted at aor I discovered that the net pay is at variance with what reflects in my account by about 3k Apparently my salary account officer just copied and pasted the same salary for the 3 months I submitted at aor
My worry now is if an adr is requested later there is likely to be a conflict of figures.
Do I get the corrected payslips and raise a cse?

I believed in the Nigerian dream until I graduated from school. However, I was never interested in any 'back-door' process.

It all started with a visit to the Travel section of Nairaland sometime in 2017, I found and read through the process for Australia, I left it for a long while came in October 2017 during my search I found the process for Canada. I researched about life in both countries and their processes and settled for Canada. I read page 0 of part 2 and 3 and started following the thread from part 3. In February 2018, I decided I was ready.

ECA: Registered with WES in the second week of February, all documents got to them in 2 weeks. The first school verified without issues after payment, it took 2 months to complete the second verification. Hardcopy ECA was delivered on 4th of September.
Sometime in October my contact in the second school called that they have received hardcopy verification mail from WES and requested I pay for verification via courier shocked. I told them not to bother that the verification have been completed a long time ago.

IELTS:
This IELTS show me pepper ehh.
1) LRWS: 8.5, 7, 6.5, 7 (Applied for EOR, came back unchanged) {BC}
2) LRWS: 7, 8.5, 7.5, 7.5
3) LRWS: 7.5, 8, 7, 8.5
4) LRWS: 8.5, 8.5, 6.5, 8 (Applied for EOR, came back unchanged)
5) LRWS: 7.5, 8, 6, 7.5 {BC}
6) LRWS: 8, 9, 7, 8
7) LRWS: 8.5,8.5, 7, 8
I wrote my first IELTS in March 2018 with so much confidence but writing messed me up. I joined Cochrane’s webinar (God bless you bros), there was improvement (in writing) on the second and third test as seen above but I lost concentration during Listening both times.
After my sixth Speaking test, I registered for another exam as I felt the speaking was not okay. Omo, when I saw my result it felt like PPR, I laid on the ground and sang in praises to GOD. I was smiling like a fool throughout the day.
I was advised not to bother writing the 7th exam whereby I have already gotten what I needed, one guy said IELTS dey drain blood. As I no want make my money waste I decided to write the exam and the result was even better. With 6th result my CRS was 443 and after the 7th I was at 446.

At some point when I was facing this challenge my best friend tried persuading me to follow some backyard visa route an agent was proposing to him and I declined. He got pissed and said I too like due process, say make I no go waste time lose everything. I was devastated, but I continued to tell myself that “the only person who needs to believe in a vision is the person who saw the vision”. Today here we are cheesy.

POF: 100% Gift from my dad. I submitted Oando exchange rate equivalent, Treasury bills Certificate, Transfer receipt, Notarized gift deed, 6 months bank statement and generic reference letter from my bank. When my Tbills matured I moved the money to mutual funds and did not inform CIC about it.

Medicals: Booked an appointment with Qlife with a November date and requested they call me if an earlier date became available. I was called when an earlier date became available and I took it.

PCC: ASP Moshood to the rescue.

REFERENCE LETTER and NOC: I was stuck on NOC code, so I reached out to the NOC queen- Newmum0615 (wonderful woman) sent her two NOC codes and she approved the one I was thinking. The next day she said she got a better NOC and it was a perfect match. Throughout my search I never came across the NOC the later sent to me.
I make adjustment to the JD, took it to my boss who approved it and sent to HR. I got to HR office and the lady started adding things wey nobody send am, claiming that she has been writing letters to embassy for others. She initially refused to even add my JD saying it’s not needed on a reference letter. After so much back and forth, I sha begged and she later wrote it the way I wanted.

I created my EE profile on 25th October using 2 years’ experience as the other company I worked for is defunct and I wanted to keep my application simple. When I got ITA, I wasn’t as happy as I felt when I passed IELTS. It took me 2 days to even login to my profile to accept the ITA. After AOR I told myself that PPR will come before 3 months little did I know I was only fooling myself. When I crossed the 3 month mark, I believed strongly that it will come in the fifth month as that have been the trend with Ottawa. I also never bothered joining any Whatsapp group for the sake my sanity.

On 16th January while in a bus going home I started sneezing uncontrollably and I kept telling myself that IRCC was calling me, lo and behold when I got home it was indeed IRCC calling me to pay RPRF wink, payment was made same night. Then the silence began, I initially told myself say I no go order GCMS note but things just dey run through my mind, later ordered the notes…..everything was fine.
When the wait was becoming difficult to bear I resorted to one of my hobbies and graciously got a better job. At this point, I started checking my application once in a while.

My application was on IP2 from AOR to PPR. On 16th April I logged into my profile and found ADR submitted for RPRF have changed to NA. The next morning the golden mail was sitting right in my mail. It has ended in praise.

A big thank you to all contributors on this thread. To those at different stages, keep at it. It will surely end in praise for everyone. To those who are just starting; research, research and research….

That was what i was told. On the 12th week i Wrote again and told them its 12 weeks i am working with. They responded that estimated times can change however my evaluation was completed. I got the mail from ups 2 days later and received it within a week. I discovered the certificate was signed a week before i wrote them.

Make una help me warn ICES, they're looking for my trouble o.

My hubby's transcripts were confirmed received on Jan 22 via a mail response from ICES and they confirmed that the evaluation would be concluded in 10-12 weeks.

I sent them mails at the 4th and 10th week respectively, they, responded repeating that the evaluation would be concluded at 12 weeks. Only for me to send another mail on Tuesday this week at the stipulated 12 weeks, the buffoons people there responded to say that the evaluation would be concluded in 14weeks as stated on their website. Which kind yeye thing be this one?

Make una help me warn them o, I've run out of patience.

AOR – Nov 29th
MEP/Biometrics - Jan 7th
ADR – March 9th (Accra Famous 5)

VO: Accra
Family of 4

My sister lives in Canada and had been asking me to either visit or move. The Canadian embassy was doing shakara for me, so I couldn’t be bothered. But in 2016, I was tired of Nigeria, and being a nomad I decided to attempt moving to Canada. We explored the legal options we had for the US and Canada. The consensus was to pursue the two for our family.

We started the process for Canada first, but we weren’t too serious until last year when we literally intensified the application process.

IELTS
We took the initial IELTS in December of 2016. I didn’t study at all – had a new baby and was just exhausted. Even though I got a band of 8.0 or so my writing was low (6.5). My husband did much better than me but being the principal applicant, I had to retake mine.

2nd IELTS – MOD – Sept 2018
For the second, I concentrated on the speaking and writing to improve my points. I used only IELTS by Liz to practice and it worked for me.
Points went from 424 to 484

ECA
This started in 2017. I had to evaluate my foreign degrees twice, so it cost me twice as much with WES. But it was straight forward and my mistake – I only submitted my transcript for one of the one-year masters’ programmes. When that was corrected, I had the equivalent of masters' and bachelors' for my education.

But my husband’s degree from Uni Cal was turnoniown literally. Other ones came on time or slightly delayed. Though I can’t remember the timelines, UniCal .. phew! Maybe almost a year!

EE Profile

When we created our profile in March 2018, we realised our points were low. So, I decided to either retake the IELTS or try TEF since I had basic knowledge of French. But IELTS favoured me when I took it in September. With a score of 484 and according to a dear friend – we entered the pool naked.

ITA
Received on September 28 – we had been gathering documents, but the travel section was the hardest for both of us especially for me completing the application due to our extensive travel experience. Our POF was deposited in a foreign bank – this caused us the most delay getting an official letter from them. We put together my salary account, GTB, Foreign Bank accounts for both of us (as savings). Hubby wrote and notarised a letter stating I had access to the funds when needed.

For my PCCs, I needed to do 4 …. Extensive travel history peeps/nomads report here …. It was a brutal wait for one of the countries, but I was determined to have all before submitting my application. It happened phew! God’s grace.
Letters of reference – hubby and I submitted for the job experiences we listed – mine was about 4 and him the same. I didn’t know we could apply without submitting his but it was okay at the end.

For medicals, we used Qlife. I booked appointments prior and my husband went without international passports, so we lost that spot (I scheduled mine in Abuja). I almost lost my cool ☹ - I think he didn’t understand how hard it was to get spots for medicals. At this point, I scheduled an appointment at IOM in Abuja. I was going to fly everyone to Abuja for the medicals! I didn’t want any delay or touching heart stories. But grace located us, Qlife was nice to give us another appointment 2 weeks after and we went as a family. I think someone cancelled and they called hubby. It was maybe a week before we received ITA in October.

Post AOR
Nothing much has happened here out of the ordinary. I found out that my VO was Accra after receiving the ‘How to get a Job’ email in January – I was heartbroken but continued to speak positively into the situation. I told God that my Accra experience will be different and one worthy of a testimony.

As we all know waiting is brutal, I read everything readable … Canadavisa website, nairaland, checked my profile a million times, ordered GCMS on March 2nd and it came two weeks ago. Everything looked okay.

On March 9th, 2019 – which was a Saturday, we received Accra’s famous 5 ADRs and we submitted a few days after. They sent me an email acknowledging receipt two days after. The day the ADRs came, I had been praying that day specifically about my application but went out to exercise that evening and my friend (angel U) called me that Accra was sending ADRs. She received hers the day before and I rejoiced with her that they were at the end of the journey. God was just smiling with me – just how many months and Accra touched my file – it was pure favour and grace. Most times He does things in a way that you can’t take any glory. My protocol breaker!

I also had prior discussions with another friend Mr. E who reassured me that God will do something or at least give me a sign before my birthday. So exactly one week before my birthday, we saw that sign in form of an ADR.

We also remembered that our son’s passport was due for a renewal, so we started the process after receiving the ADR. We also went to Studio 24 in Lagos the weekend of my birthday and took our passport pictures in anticipation of the passport request. It’s best to align your faith with action …..

I joined the Accra WhatsApp group this month and they have been equally as amazing. This month particularly has been amazing at AVO – April Showers . I saw movement last week when they started processing my background. I think that’s when the real anxiety set in …
Fast forward today, we received have our PPR – with 2 Canada visitor visa rejections(actually 1 was withdrawn), I UK rejection over 10 years ago, I US 221G from last year (all for me o and declared in my application) and a host of many imperfections I might not even have noticed . My family and I are favoured.

I have learned that everyone’s experience and journey is different. Whenever I come across stories which were not what I wanted for mine, I just spoke into existence what I wanted to see. Most importantly I have come to realise that no one can contend with God’s will. It will always prevail at the end – and in this journey, he reminded me that He has the heart of kings in his hands. So, when fear about Accra came up, I reminded myself that God created the VO’s in Accra. There was no need to worry.

I promised that I will tell my story here even though I have been silent and on the AVO group too. You all have been wonderful and encouraging - thank you to this thread for the support (I’ve been here since last year getting tips and all),to my hubby who has been super-duper supportive emotionally and financially, to my sister who basically held my hand through this process(we are on our way) and my friends offline ( Mrs. U and oga E) who have been on this journey with me and prayed for me as well. May you all find favour as we did. Amen

It is basically the same process i went through when i registered in December 2018. My documents got to them by January 16. It was completed in 12 weeks.
They responded to my enquiry saying the estimated evaluation period is now 14 weeks. Confirm from their site though. Expecting my report Thursday

Foreverhopeful:

Hello Seniors, Please can you help with ICES current process

Has it changed from this? I've been away for some time

*Copied*

Type ICES ECA evaluation and detailed process pops out. However, click on *apply now*, fill in your details, your reference number with A000.....,will be displayed, take note of that then after filling it,scan and upload original B.sc or whatever degree you have in coloured as well as your international passport. There is a placeholder for each document.Of you are married, upload your marriage certificate in the placeholder for*others* this is important to prove the reason for discrepancy for the names in your certificate and international passport.

Go ahead to make payment with debit card as it is accepted notwithstanding their website specifically said only credit card is accepted.Courier fee for Canadian address is $26 while international address is$75.

Then for official transcript, your school *must* send it to ICES through the school's official email address or they can courier it to ICES.Official school email address should not be yahoo or gmail.

I would suggest you follow up with your school so that once the transcript is ready, you can create an ICES acccount, submit then send the reference no to your school to submit the next day or so.

They only send acknowledgement of documents, and completion of ECA to your email or you can log in to your account to see it too.

Once your school sends your transcript to ICES,send them a mail to confirm receipt and you will get response within 48 hrs.Goodluck guys.

The whole process was 5weeks.

ICES replied me the next day that their evaluation now takes an estimated 14 weeks. However they have completed my evaluation and would be desperate soon. I got UPS mail on Thursday last week that the report inbox the way. Teaching says i will getbitbon Thursday this week.
I decided to chance it with WES for my hubby though they said theirs will take 7 weeks or 35 days after receipt of all documents including WAEC/NECO.
Used @bibididi's help for his WAEC its in process now.

I am so angry with ICES. My application was 12 weeks on Tuesday. When i dropped my application it was for 12 weeks. I mailed them twice they confirmed or will be ready in 12 weeks. On Tuesday i wrote them again. This time they said it was now 14 weeks for all Applications but my application was completed and i will receive a mail from UPS. Till now my status on their site is still received. No mail from UPS.

Thank you so much . This is helpful.

I believe if ur status reads "application received" it means they av received ur application, but when it reads "documents received, being checked by ICES", it means they av received ur transcript and maybe any other accompanying document(s) from ur institution. I also believe your status shd av change to "documents received, being checked by ICES", it is after this that u now av "completed", this is the pattern mine has followed, but not yet completed, it is the same that of another friend on this platform followed.
You should not be worried, since they av confirmed that ur document was received, just mail them to let them know that ur status has not changed.
