Tojued: Have you visited page zero of this thread and followed all the links?
Improve your ielts to band 9 or 8.5. Did you do any diploma those days of JAMB frustration? If yes, evaluate it. If no, get a second certificate such as NOUN PGD or ACCA foundation certificate (don't know much but it has been exhaustively discussed on this thread). With band 9 and two or more certs you'll be around crs 430. This score will possibly drop by five points on your next birthday.
Now let's think outside the box. Do you or your husband have any sibling who has head and is younger than 30 years? Sell this canada idea to them and assist their migration as much as you can (both financially and morally). When they get their PR status, then you get extra 15 points and enter the 440s where ITA is more certain. It's a long term plan but if you can immediately and simultaneously kick-start a sibling's journey alongside your second certificate quest, by this time next year you should have your ITA in hand and your COPR latest December 2019. This is in my opinion your cheapest bet, and most beneficial in the long run.
Another option is PNP which can give you 600 points. You can visit the nairaland PNP thread.
Then again, Australia's migration process is less age discriminatory than canada's so visit the Australia skilled worker thread to reconsider that option. Lol in this time and age? Mehn that is one expensive extra 15 points oh. If it was like 80 points, yea...but 15? Nahhh Also there's no saying the draws will be at 440s. With the way folks fly into the pool on a daily. Indians especially, cut off might just go up again. And the wait time to help the sibling reach Canada, haba. PNP would be better. The other options are good though. |

Bsbabe: My dear, na God o (and before anyone starts with Nigerians and their God, yes na my God as He gave me favour). I could have done everything right but still not achieve what I set out to. So to the steps I took, I narrowed my search using all the realtor sites to the specific area we wanted based on schools (I used Fraser rankings and other review sites for schools). I downloaded the school boundary maps from the District Board website and looked for homes within the area. When I find any which matches our requirements, I crosscheck on BusPlanner.web to see if it is walking distance to the school or they would be eligible for school bus (I preferred school bus because I didn’t want Canadian winter walking wahala). Based on these criteria, I came up with a shortlist and sent to my friend in Canada to engage with agents. We were upfront that we didn’t have credit history but were willing to pay a few months deposit. Most didn’t speak to him again after he mentioned ‘about to land’ and ‘immigrants’.
One eventually came through, asked for our resumes and guarantors in Canada. After he spoke with the guarantors, he then introduced us to the landlord and they made us jump through hoops but we were determined not to land and start looking for accommodation. Their terms were one year lease, payment of four months in advance (representing the last four months of the lease) and confirmation of home insurance and registering for utilities - hydro and gas. We agreed and we finalised agreements electronically. So the agent was waiting to deliver the key when we arrived. Wow!! You weren't playing oh. I admire your persistence. Thanks for the pointers, I already screenshot the post. For future reference. |

Bsbabe: I believe you will do just fine, don’t worry. However mine are older and can take care of themselves so I can’t speak to how to cope with much younger children or toddlers. If you can however persist in prayers for God to change your husband’s mind, it will be good too. I recall those first three weeks of settling in, I was glad I had my husband with me to help. One day, we had some items delivered and we asked them to drop them in the garage. The people to instal came the next day and said their liability did not cover taking them upstairs to the rooms where they should be installed and that the delivery guys should have done that. We said everything but they didn’t budge. My husband and I had to carry those items to the respective rooms. If na only me, I will just sit down on the floor and start crying
And no, I do it have plans to work yet. Lmao @ sit down and start crying Biko how did yall get a rented accommodation prior to landing? |

fairfora: Oh Nigerian youths. Please think, think again before you leave for that canada whether it's really worth it or not. The opportunity you are looking for is right here, but which millions of Nigerians are too blind to see. Abuse me if you like but you won't say I didn't tell you. If I were Nigerian youths, especially the professionals, I would research into what makes a chinese guy or an indian man come to our own country with a shirt and a pair of trousers but by the time he's going back, he's a rich man. He still uses your brain to make his millions, amazing lol. Please ejowo, bikonu, du alah, think twice This na strategy to keep yall from entering pool so draw can drop and he can clinch ITA |

ghuzy01: Bro calm down I posted the screenshots simply for awareness and it's also open for discussion.i don't get why you 're so worked up about it Yes I'm a bro. Now to respond to you, I am not worked up about it. You're obviously a newbie to think that you're the first person to bring up this topic. It's a dead horse that has been flogged over and over again. On different parts of this thread and the Living in Canada thread. Hence it being redundant. Nothing you posted or she said on twitter has not been said on here before. All I'm asking is you carry the spam somewhere else. You're crowding up the place with information that won't help anyone on here. The purpose of the thread is different from your topic. |

Please y'all spamming this thread with tweet screenshots need to stop. Justwise please hide the posts. This is a thread for people who have made up their minds to move to Canada not for those who are still thinking about it. And I'll always say this, anyone who is scared of making it in Canada has no business pursuing EE. Annoying people. And this topic has been thrashed out on the Living in Canada thread. I advise people on here to follow that thread for more insight about living in Canada. Firsthand information on there. |

Elfmannisback: What about the huge tuition fees u paid? I know they are making a killing but.. I rather pay that again and again than be faced with: Strike Lecturer asking for money before you pass his class Crowded and inefficient lecture halls Threat from cultists Non exposure and myopic thinking (this was very apparent to me during my NYSC days. The way local trained graduates behaved and begged for their allowance, I couldn't believe my eyes. Because they're used to begging their way through graduating from Nigerian universities) Just to name a few. |

LausDeo: Hello everyone. I always learn new things each time I read this thread. Thanks for all the information. Please does anyone have an idea the exchange rate the Canadian embassy uses to calculate proof of funds. I was planning on going with my wife but now she is pregnant. That means I have to cough up additional 4000CAD according to CIC requirement. I want to know so I can decide whether to change her to non-accompanying. Now she's pregnant. .....like she picked the pregnancy by the road side and you had nothing to do with it. Choice of words Nigerian men use sef |
