Please explain the breakdown of your payment to WES that resulted in you paying $233. What I saw on the website was $200 plus stand mail of $7 which altogether is $207. So how come you paid $233? PLEASE EXPLAIN because I have budgeted $207 for my WES evaluation.

Lol. You also pay HST which brings it to $233.91. So this is what you should budget.
Meanwhile, you and this your caps. Comes across like you're shouting.

I think it boils down to the fact that some of us do not understand the complexity of Nigerian marriages cool

He said THE HOME not MARRIAGE grin

on the real though, I really don't think he came out to curse her marriage or be rude to her. The guy's personality na clear-cut and folks just have issues accepting it. And that's wrong. No one dictates to anyone how to post or speak. I coulda sworn Maternal is an Engineer, coz na logical thinkers them be. Maternal and Delta007 are from the same village. No chill zones grin

If a Nigerian man like you said decides to leave for Canada without consulting his wife, its wrong. If on the other hand he tries to convince her of the benefits of making the move then she ought to listen to him and try to make things work.

Check out the postings and try to text or call the posters.

Where in Mississauga are you?

Those people offering free rental to females have ulterior motives. I won't advise a new immigrant who is tryna find their bearing to take up any of these offers.

The lady said the family is doing well by Nigerian standards, and his fears does not translate to him not putting his wife or kids first. There are several people like that in Nigeria.

In addition, the husband does not need to enroll the kids in the likes of regents school (a school established to cater for kids of british expatriates in Nigeria) to justify putting his wife and kids first.. There are families here with kids sent back to attend government funded boarding schools in Nigeria.

Just as happyt mentioned "There are peculiarities to each marriage and each person's situation as regards immigration".

Let me ask this question, what does "doing well by Nigerian standards" mean?

"Doing well" is very relative. I remember a post some pages back where someone said he earns N300K a month and is doing well in Nigeria. He is a single man, probably lives in Ekiti or Awka. Hence he is "doing well". A man with 4 kids living in Abuja earning 300K has not even started earning his rent. So I ask again what is "doing well by Nigerian standards"? Because both scenarios I just gave live in Nigeria.

The point made earlier by Maternal is that "doing well" comes in different forms but Nigerians always equate it to money. From the poster's post, her dislike is the environment and children's schools. Hence my reference to Regents.
A man should be able to put his wife's concerns and children's future before his fears. Heck, work out something like going back and forth (since money is not a problem) to Canada and Nigeria when school's out. Once again it's all sentimental to me.

Marriage is not about take it or leave it though.lol
If migrating would break up a marriage, or if she can't get the husband to reason with her, then they better stay in naija. No woman wants to live in a house with a fustrated or angry husband.

Take it or leave it refers to Maternal's bluntness. One can either take it or leave it.

Also no woman wants to live in a house and be unhappy and frustrated with a very happy husband. I think we miss the point with this and turn into something that it isn't. The solution is simple, a good husband would put his wife and kids before his fear. That's the point Maternal is making. No need for sentiments and unfounded emotions. This is a life decision, he either says yes or no. And if na no, makes sure his kids are attending the likes of Regents School or equivalent in Nigeria.
We need to remove sentiments and be logical thinkers.

The home is clearly not happy if she has to come here to ask for advice. Canada is a proven product where a person's achievement is based on merits. Most of the times any way. Nigeria is a unproven product. Currently a failed state. If she has concerns about her kids future or lack of it in Nigeria, she needs to pick up and migrate if she can legally. Instead of walking around stroking her alpha males husband's ego who deep down is consumed by fear. If it's time to go to war and my captain starts showing fear and is not ready to die for the cause, do you think I'd follow his lead ? Any man who puts his fear ahead of doing what's best for the kids will not be leading my household. I just couldn't take him seriously.

After helping him make the payment, the guy collected the naira equivalent and contacted credit card guys that it was a fraudulent transaction and requested to reverse it. He got back his money and WES contacted the applicant to raise money order as the only means of payment within a strict deadline or face grave consequences.

How are we even sure you're not an accomplice? Screenshot of chats is no proof? It can be doctored bro.

Travel day arrives, babe gets to the airport to board plane, the flight people will just jejely tell her the plane ticket is invalid. Hello great people. I did IELTS on the 6th of January. The results came out and I had a score fair enough to put me on a CRS 432. The issue now is that NASU are on strike which means that I can't assess my transcript. I am worried that I will miss out on a favorable draw as I am yet to 'dive into the pool'. What should I do apart from praying that this strike ends already.

Find out who called the strike in the first place and put out a hit on him/her. NASU chairman? If there's anything like that. grin

Please I will advise you to put this down with the following reasons:
1. He sent a Pm to me also cos I needed someone to help me pay for application fee, he told me he used his Nigeria number for whatsapp and he sent his BBM ID,he told him I don't use BBM anymore so I can't continue the transaction anymore
2. To cut the story, I told him to verify my name on facebook (which I did not ask for his), then ask for my payment details and helped me to pay, I sent his money to him immediately I verified the payment . I can post our chats and the screenshot of my payment

All the same, Justwise will ban him/her. That is mosthigh33. As what he's doing goes against all the rules of engagement. So I don't see a reason for Uzoreen to put the post down.

Guys please don't be angry for the long post but this are trying times for me as well as "matters of the heart" concerning me and IELTS and they said "a problem shared is a problem solved"

I keep getting 7.5 on listening and 6.5 on reading even though I read/practice/prepare as if I'm going for MBBS exam. My practice score for both listening and reading are most often within the range of 38- 40 but "I still dey gbagaun for the actual test " dunno y cry

Here is list of things I think might I be doing wrong when it comes to the listening section:
i. I write all my ans in caps.
ii. I go back to correct the tenses and more often change from singular to plural and vice versa as the sentence required.
iii. In the last test I took; the question required you answers be written in two words and a number; the speaker called out a date of birth as "22nd the 7th 1985" and I wrote "twenty-second July 1985" was I correct? cos i'm thinking this contributed to my downfall and wouldn't want to fail such a question ever in my life.

In reading, I knew my weakness was T/F/NG; Y/N/NG and matching heading so I took out time to practice question on this alone until I started acing it consistently yet "I still enter 6.5 bus" lipsrsealed aside this I can't point a finger to what could be wrong with the reading section.

I planned on taking the next available test as "e dey hot" but on reading canadianfly's write up, I had to take a second guess cos she really made a good point; but my problem could not be practice as I invest good time in it.

Lastly, could it be BC

The answer is 22nd July 1985. That twenty-second you wrote has passed two words. Don't over think the answers, coz if you do, you'll not get it right.

My advice is when you do your practice tests, identify the sections you fail mostly, for me it was the matching section. So I figured I'll just write out everything the audio was saying in my question paper, then when I had 10 mins to transfer my answers...I read through what I had written and took my time to match it with the questions.
My point is you need a strategy to beat your weak point.
For T/F/NG the easiest way to understand it is:
Truth is the statement is in the passage
False is the statement is in the passage but not as the question. E.g. The passage says "the shirts are all white and long sleeves". The question is "all the shirts are short sleeved and white". This is false....
Not Given is when the statement cannot be found in the passage. Using the e.g above, Not Given is "the red and blue shirts are also long sleeves". This is not in passage so it's not given. But can be mistaken as False.

Like I said before IELTS na just trick test. But you shall overcome. grin

@mcstan18 this your response is very wrong. It is not misrepresentation. As a married person you have an option of either adding your spouse or not.(accompanying or unaccompanying spouse). If after ITA/AOR (during processing) the PA decides to add spouse and send relevant docs to IRCC, then that's misrepresentation cos it will be deduced that the PA choose spouse as 'unaccompanying' just to claim points.

Lol.

Mcstan18 please understand the process well before dishing wrong answers to newbies. How can you advise someone to divorce their spouse all because of PR? When there's a choice to choose them as unaccompanying? Then the referefrence answer, like Kontagious pointed out, one is expected to get reference letter from the appropriate dept, I.e. HR. Anyway please folks y'all need to read for yourselves and not take every answer on here as truth, coz some people haven't really gotten a grasp of things.

All the best to everyone.

Good evening guys,so i'm set to travel next week Monday.Bought my tickets-Ethiopian Airlines.Got some questions to ask.
1)At arrival at the Toronto Airport on Tuesday morning by 8am,can my USD dollars be changed to Canadian dollars at the airport? Can i get a phone sim at the airport too?Which line is preferable and what price?
2)How do i transport myself from airport to my hosts place-cab or train? Are there airport cabs?or do i Uber?
3)How soon can i set up my bank account? Are there banks in the airport?Which bank is the best for new PRs?
Really appreciate any feedback.Thanks

Why the rush to change your USD at the airport? Cabs in Canada accept USD too, if you're worried about how to pay. In fact most big stores do. My advice is to hold to your USD till you open an account. Deposit your USD, then change it using the bank rate and get more for your money. So much better than doing BDCs at the airport for a ridiculous rate.

Transporting yourself, is up to you. You can walk too if you're up for it grin. I kid. However the answer to that question depends on where your host lives. I'm pro uber sha...as it is cheaper than cab. However I believe you have to have a credit card for this? Not sure about Canada but America doesn't accept cash transactions like in Naija. So have a card registered on your uber account for payment.

You can set up your bank account when you are ready. Even that day you land if you're up for it. grin

Na wa. grin Any how, it's your lucky day....I'm in a Christian mood this night grin

First thing you need to know is if you are eligible for Express Entry - Federal Skilled Worker.

Visit the CIC website and to understand more about the Express Entry system. An excerpt from the page below:

Express Entry manages applications for three of our key economic immigration programs:

Federal Skilled Worker Program
Federal Skilled Trades Program
Canadian Experience Class
If you’re eligible to immigrate under one of these federal immigration programs:

we’ll place you in a pool with others who are also eligible
we’ll rank you and the others using several factors
if you’re a top candidate, you’ll get an Invitation to Apply to a specific program
if we invite you to apply, you can apply online for permanent residence

Find out what your score could be here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Once you determine that you can get a reasonable score, go to the British council website and register for the IELTS, also start your ECA (Education Credential Assessment). You have a choice of agencies to choose from. Once you have these two, jump into the pool and wait for ITA.

On the real though someone can't explain the process for you in one post. You will have to read the CIC website and this thread to understand the process fully so you don't make mistakes along the way. All the best.

Do you have the work permit? If yes, how you take get am? Seeing that Nigeria is not even eligible for that from Nigeria. Hope agent no sell you story oh? grin
I suggest you forget that work permit dream and read page 0 of this thread to understand how you can immigrate to Canada as a PR...which is even better than the work permit deal you're being offered. That doesn't exist by the way.

I might be wrong but I believe those PCCs are only valid for 6 months.

As regards your Fiance, I recommend you start the process and use your fiance as Dependent. You'll have to do all the work, but as long as they are willing to give you documents, do medicals, Police report and take passport when the time comes, they don't have to lift a finger. Whether your fiance will agree to follow you to Canada when the time comes however...............

This is wrong. One, she can't use what she has as it is not a PCC. It's a criminal record/background check that some jobs require in the UK. Those are CRBs not PCCs.
Two, she can't add someone she's not married to as a dependent. Her best bet is start the process as a singleton, get ITA and AOR, then marry the bros and add him on your application. You'll have to show POF for two, his Medicals and PCCs of countries where necessary.

Hello people. I'm about to start this EE process but I have some questions on my mind that I would need your help with.

The first one is that I studied in the UK for my masters between 2013-2014 and during the course of my study I had to do a background check for work. My question is that can I still use it now as my police report?

The second one is that I am single now but I'll be getting married later this year by God's grace and I'm really interested in getting my PR now but my fiance is not so keen on it. Is it possible to get my PR and then file for him when we get married? Thanks for your anticipated response
To answer your first question, what you did for your work is like the CRB. It's different from PCC. You have to get a UK PCC.

So no, you can't use CRB for PCC.

The score took me below 400.
I was on 430 for a short time with my first result LRWS - 8.5,8,7.5,8 but that one expired late last year. I need to get back in the pool ASAP.

I really don't want to be the pessimistic one but I think you should know this. That is if you haven't paid for the new IELTS you just registered for yesterday.

You need to calm down. I thought your score was like in the 440s with the way you are rushing this IELTS. Before draws reach 430s it will be April. That is if CIC maintains 2750 ITAs and at least biweekly to three weeks draw. You rushed and booked Jan 6th and when you couldn't find Lagos, you picked Ibadan. Now you've rushed and booked Feb 1st. Which is in less than 2 weeks?
Anyway my point and advice to anyone considering retaking IELTS is to give yourself at least 3-4 weeks to take the next one. You are approaching IELTS like its a game of roulette. And it's not. IELTS is a trick test. So people fail it not because they didn't listen well or read well, but because they had no strategy on how to overcome it. Of course God's favor too, but God crowns our efforts.

You should take out time and identify what your weak parts/sections are and devise a strategy to improve on there. You are already in the pool so tie breaking rule is not your problem. Na this same rush rush you take they tell people to jump enter pool last year anyhow anyhow. grin
You need to breatheeee and relax. You have time. Well except your birthday is in a few months and you'll lose 5 points. All the same you had a previous IELTS result that you held onto for 2 years, and for some reason you didn't use it till recently. You didn't die did you? Now you are rushing like there's a hit out on your head. My advice before you even start getting your adrenaline pumped again for Feb 1st, ask yourself, are you ready? Throwing 68K x 3 is not beans. And you don't want to make it x 4.

All the best.

@Elfmann, @Canadianfly and other well- experienced members: Please, I need some guidance on Work Experience issue.

1) I have about 10 years work experience but stopped working in May this year (2017) to start a business. However, this business is yet to see the light of the day due to change of plan and goal-setting (I.e. Immigration). In June 2017, I made Canada visit visa application to no avail. In that visa application, because I didn't want to appear jobless, I claimed to be a current worker with an employer who I did a 4-month contract work under in 2012 and obtained a Vacation Approval letter from the company for the visit visa application. In view of this, I listed the company as my current work experience history on the visit visa application but I diid not list the 4-month contract work. My question now is: In my Express Entry profile (pre-ITA or post-ITA) should I declare the 4-month contract work in the Personal History or leave it out so as to maintain consistency between my old visiting visa record and the proposed EE profile record?

2) I am feeling that since I already have a 10-year work experience that is verifiable which I have got valid supporting documents as prove to back it up, should I just leave out that employer name used for the visit visa application in June or I should list it among my work experience in EE profile so as not to appear us been currently jobless and to maintain consistency?

I am asking this question because to prove that I work with this employer means I will have to doctor so many things that I am afraid may be tedious and not as water-tight as the Truth.

3) Any implications if I declare I am currently jobless in the EE profile? Your sincere advice, please.

Elfman is correct oh lol. It didn't exist.

It doesn't matter if you're currently unemployed. As long as you have a minimum of 3 years full-time in the last 10 years, it doesn't matter what you told them during your visa. You are allowed to use any of the work experience in the qualifying years.

Back to my silent mode.

If this was the old Canadianfly she would actually show you what stinging, responding harshly and the likes are. Trust you won't even miss it. In all my posts, I advised you not to fight with your husband and move on....your ass came back tryna defend your fraud. And I say let's let the damn thing rest, I don turn to stinger?

Believe it or not, this new Canadianfly has made a new year resolution grin so I won't give you a piece of my mind.

Funny how in all your Indian thread and wonderful politeness you received from there, you still didn't get the RIGHT info on what to do before entering the pool. You still sought out the stupid arrogant Nigerians that sting. Ain't that some BS?

You can only edit details before an ITA, if you need to edit after receiving an ITA you'd have to decline it.

Lol I think we should let this rest. She even went ahead to confess her report number had no IMM. Na post ITA she edit am. This is just beyond hilarious. We thought it was just the date alone, but incomplete report number too to be editied after ITA?

Let's leave the matter though, all the best to them.
