IyaebeTheGreat:Yes, you stated the simple truth. He played the ostrich all through, thinking the hard way is the only way. He succeeded in leaving a legacy, to wit: the most insensitive civilian president Nigeria ever had. |
Parachoko:A partial closure where students take virtual lectures for the duration of the voting period would have been better. That would afford academic activities to go on while students still get to vote. Some students registered in school and by shutting down halls of residence along with the schools, they will have no option but to leave and ultimately get disenfranchised. |
Timoleon:I'm glad you get the overall picture. 998 million or a billion naira, the money would have contributed immensely to ABU's financial standing. Excuse my illiteracy or half-baked education but in the simple arithmetic taught to me in my primary school, 998 million would be rounded up to a billion, and over a billion is still in the range of a billion. However, I appreciate you highlighting the facts against the fiction. Forgive my comedy of errors. |
Former ABU's VC and bursar were arraigned for embezzlement of over a billion naira this last week. I'm aware of the same in FUOYE. Are these people looking for increased funding by all means so they too can have money to steal like the politicians or because they want better education for Nigerian students? Their moves are becoming suspicious o. |
Yeah. Congratulations on your dream coming true. It is especially an accomplishment because you did it in a country where dreams hardly come true and every single one that comes true is akin to a miracle. |
Hmmm |
Neduzze5:How about Tinubu channelling his stacked cash through Lagos State Government accounts and all those corporate firms he uses for smokescreen and getting clean cash on the other side? These guys are bigger criminals than most give them the credit. |
sharpwriter:Like the concept Stephen King wrote about in Pet Cemetery. A spirit inhabit the body for the short while needed but would leave immediately afterward. If kept longer, it would behave abnormally. |
Kobojunkie:Okay ooo. |
Kobojunkie:Hey! What happened to encouragement? Are you telling me you can do it all by your own free will? I will celebrate his little successes cos thereafter lies bigger ones. Just cos you or anyone else can do it so easily does not mean his threshold should be same as yours. Be a little more sensitive, please. |
GEEBITE:Lol. You are right. Abike Dabiri is the wo*man for the job. |
gentleguy1975:Seem like something that happened on Eko Bridge in Lagos. Adio Adeshina is the culprit and Barrister Adewale is the prosecutor. Sanwo-Olu must have something to say about this. |
marvelife:You get brain. Respect. |
aspabay:At first glance, the suggestions seem solid but on consideration, I become a little sceptical. I don't know a lot of economics but I know these; 1. The crux of the matter is that they are suggesting every Nigerian should make sacrifices towards rescuing the economy. However, the first set of questions to be answered are how did we get here and if rescued, how do we sustain the economy in better stead? If all the elements that got us here are still with us, is it not a defeated cause from outset? Please, I don't buy the idea that Jonathan or 16 year rule of the PDP got us here. Obasanjo and Yar'adua did well with economy. Aside that, 8 years is enough to make a telling impact. 2. What are the effects of these policies on the common man that drives the economy? The middle and the upper income earners can easily make adjustments but can the vast majority of the low income earners do the same? 3. How many Nigerians would repose confidence in a wasteful government and readily make sacrifices? With the Nigerian government giving over 1billion to Niger Republic, Afghanistan and building unnecessary rail to Maradi in Niger, I'm not sure we are broke enough. 4. It's easier to talk about abolishing the State PIT in favour of the Federal PIT, but with Wike's outburst, we now think the unproductive northern states cannot be sharing of the revenues generated by the productive southern states. Is this not a recipe for future chaos? 5. Isn't it a knee-jerk reaction to be ringing so many changes all at once without fixing the security problems of Nigeria? If the citizens can go about their businesses without fear, then the economy would benefit from higher GDP and internally generated monies as against borrowing, even if borrowing is essential and running a deficit budget is not entirely a bad thing in macroeconomics. 6. If the CBN is so bereft of ideas and has lost focus of its primary functions under the current leadership, why is the CBN governor still retained while we paper the crack at the expense of the poor masses? Who gave the CBN the order to keep printing money to the detriment of the economy? 7. Nothing has changed for the common man except the state of affairs getting worse. These policies would compound the problems in folds. Are we sure these people are suggesting these solutions for the benefit of the populace or do they just want to ensure they can continue to fund their lavish lifestyles from the government coffers? 8. Where is the sense in giving the poorest of poor some money a few months back only to turn around and tax them blind afterwards? They must be geniuses that have found a way of investing the handouts to yield enough dividends to be taxed in this terrible economy. 9. Let these people start with cutting expenses by reviewing their emoluments and entitlements to reflect the realities on the ground. They should also focus on taxing the rich, encouraging foreign investments, blocking wastages e.g. the Father Christmas posture of Buhari and stopping their lavishness like their children schooling abroad, running abroad for medical care, excesses of their family members e.g. Yusuf Buhari motorbike example, Zahra Buhari photography expenditure etc. When we see their sacrifices and attendant improvement to the economy, we all will be willing and ready to do likewise. |
adams123:Adam, Adam......and the truth is that trousers are not for females but only males. Oya, clap for yourself and Mr. Righteousness. |
otipoju:You know book. The simple reason why it's not advisable for her to put on a long skirt is the same reason why athletes rarely wear skirts. Imagine a female footballer on the pitch in a skirt! |
Righteousness2:Says your Bible! |
Mindlog:I tire ooo. No be gown dem dey wear up and down for inside Bible. Where in the Bible dem mention say the men dey wear trousers? Like you pointed out, no be robe dem dey wear and God no talk say e bad? |
NaijaCowFarm:Correct. As a matter of fact, they are free to abduct any and every politician if they can. They are the true problem. |
You fought but you've lost. Let that sink. |
As in it's insane. Just Kogi and Kwara, which are not even true northern states, getting above 100 and Kaduna prides itself as the 'centre of learning'. It's a similar story in UTME and WAEC with southerners dominating but the northerners getting admitted on very low scores. After graduating, the quota candidates get all the sensitive jobs while the better equipped southerners settle for lesser positions. The ineptitude eventually shows when they become leaders and successfully ruin the economy. Nigeria may not be great until we get fundamentals like this right. |
Ajidagba Akanke Mariam is a strong Yoruba name and claiming to be from Sokoto State points to this below; Unity School Cut off Mark for Each State Abia – 130 Adamawa – 62 Akwa-Ibom – 123 Anambra – 139 Bauchi – 35 Bayelsa – 72 Benue – 111 Borno – 45 Cross River – 97 Delta – 131 Ebonyi – 112 Edo – 127 Ekiti – 119 Enugu – 134 Gombe – 58 Imo – 138 Jigawa – 44 Kaduna – 91 Kano – 67 Katsina – 60 Kebbi – 9 (male) 20 (female) Kogi – 119 Kwara – 123 Lagos – 133 Nasarawa – 58 Niger – 93 Ogun – 131 Ondo – 126 Osun – 127 Oyo – 127 Plateau – 97 Rivers – 118 Sokoto – 9 (male) 13 (female) Taraba – 3 (male) 11 (female) Yobe – 2 (male) 27 (female) Zamfara – 4 (male) 2 (female) FCT Abuja – 90 Some that scored 130 won't be admitted while some with less than 10 would be admitted on merit. When are we going to do away with this madness and let human capacity development be on merit only basis? |
IMF economic plans are always a disaster for any country and baba and his goons knew this but where do they get enough to steal without borrowing? We should all get ready for a mad ride as they are doing everything to start selling us water at a high price just like power. After that, they'll probably ask us to pay for the air we breath. Smh. |
Ndibuna:I thought as home bred Africans, our parents are meant to be given utmost respect at all times, including yours. We don't need to drag them into our banters. Say anything you like to me personally and I would have taken it as normal NL jibes but dragging parents in the mud just cos opinions differ is not exactly a bright idea to me. If that is hypocrisy to you, then I'm helpless here. You are who you are though and you can say whatever you like through your keyboard as whatever you say here won't change anything about me or my parents. Enjoy yourself. |
newdawn2017:I will check the recommended siggy. I am just baffled at how far we can go if don't make strong effort to control our emotions. |
Ndibuna:Hmmm, my parents. Absolutely unnecessary. If you don't agree with my opinion, you can state that more constructively rather than cussing. Anyways, mental health is really important and I know that for a fact from your response. |
legba1:You are right. It's really a tough world. So sad. |
This picture is too graphic. A gory sight indeed. Maybe everyone getting married should be subjected to mandatory mental evaluation and drug tests. People are becoming very aggressive and extremely violent nowadays. I wonder if the guy that killed this woman remembers they ever smiled and shared quality time in the past. If it's not working any more, death should not be the only option left. |
Emilokoiyawon:Lol. All that amala, almajiri and stuff are just illustrations and distractions that I laugh about most times. We have kids, glorified children and some that are not so bright here, that only see from their own myopic point of view. I don't take them too seriously cos I know not all Westerners are skull miners, not all Hausas are almajerai, not all Igbos are obstinate, not all Christians are sanctimonious and not all Muslims are fundamentalists but all Nigerians want a peaceful, prosperous country where they have a sense of belonging. Serious nation management in a country like ours requires compromises, sacrifices and mutual understanding. When these are lacking is when talks about secession and break-up comes into the picture. |
Dmacqh:About believing in Almighty God, I agree with you absolutely as this story does not disprove His existence. The reptilians met a pre-existing hostile entities in the inner sanctum of the earth that they subdued. The entities are the ones the shamans, magicians and spiritists commune with and they requires blood to cooperate with humans, according to Mr Ourtruth. The question is who created these hostile entities and how did they get to earth before everyone else? There is a grand designer who created all and He is the almighty we seek. |
mobileboy:You argument made some sense. |
The North once voted Abiola against all odds and expectations of the hegemony. The North once gave it up for Obasanjo. It's an open secret that the North knows that power is coming back up soon. I think the North loves power but they know when to reach a compromise. However, can we say the same about the West? If the South loses power to Atiku, it's not cos the North is smart but cos the South is not. For argument's sake, let the South unite behind Obi and see if the North would win. Anyways, I won't blame the West too much cos even the East is not united behind Obi. |
