Nairaland / General / Re: Share Your Gains Using Nairaland . by Canvass: 4:14pm On Oct 18, 2021 |
Hintona: Reddit and Quora are massive. There is no comparing any app with them. However, as far as Nigeria is concerned, Nairaland is the only app remotely comparable in terms of giving common opinions and open source information about Nigeria and Nigerians. Reddit or Quora won't do that for Nigerians. They have global audiences and international views. |
Nairaland / General / Re: Share Your Gains Using Nairaland . by Canvass: 12:04pm On Oct 18, 2021 |
Nairaland is Nigerian version of Quora and Reddit combined. You get ideas about everything Nigeria and how the society perceives issues here, and even as foreigners perceive Nigeria. @ TMK South and co. comes to mind. The toxicity is just a reflection of who we are. 11 Likes |

Properties / Re: Why Are Yoruba Landlords Afraid Of Igbo Tenants by Canvass: 12:04am On Oct 08, 2021 |
It may be any or every of the following reasons; 1. Poor Igbo people are sit-tight tenants that rarely wants to move and Lagos landlords are greedy lots hoping for high turn over of tenants so as to get extra money from commission, agreement and damages. 2. If you rent out your property to one Igbo person, you can expect minimum of 10 people occupying that singular property. Lagos landlords know that the fewer the people, the better the property is managed but greed won't allow them do things the right way at inception. 3. Igbo people are often loud people, who exercise no restraint in showing their emotions, especially when they make little money. Every Igbo boy with little money in his pocket is an Odogwu. South Africans can attest to that. Yoruba landlords are not any better with their numerous Owambes but they'll always criticize the Ndigbo. 4. Igbo people are mostly domineering and always tending towards assuming the landlord position in rented apartments. 5. When you get tired of them and decide to call off the tenancy deal, Igbo people never leave without raising a dust and Yoruba landlords hate the noise as that can spoil market with the next customer. 6. Deep mistrust and distrust of Igbo people and vice versa since civil war. 7. For restricted cosmopolitan nature and little exposure on the part of Yoruba landlords. Most of them never leave South West all their life hence they only relate from their cultural perspective and most Igbo people don't care if you understand them or not, they just do their thing. 8. Igbo people are independent in nature. They take no nonsense from anyone but some Yoruba landlords love playing God, hence clash of personalities is always in the offing. Now you can come for my head with bashing but nah wetin I notice I write. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Can I Sue Ikeja Electric For This Problem? by Canvass: 10:08am On Oct 05, 2021 |
We must continue to test the court process in Nigeria just as Wike is doing with VAT issue and Miyetti Allah is doing with open grazing bills in the south. Thats the only way to test limits and establish boundaries in a country where power mongering is a culture. Sue their arse and if you don't have the wherewithal, consult like minds and sue. It's the best line of action. |
Politics / Re: Buhari Blames Middlemen For Hike In Food Prices, Hoading Of Commodities by Canvass: 9:36am On Oct 01, 2021 |
Buhari failed Mathematics and didn't offer elementary Economics at O'levels. All he ever picked up from hearsay of more brilliant students back in school was "middle men hoard always lead to inflation' forgetting simple demand and supply. 4 Likes 1 Share

Celebrities / Re: Trevor Noah Tells Davido Nigerians Are The Most Confident Africans On The Planet by Canvass: 12:04pm On Sep 30, 2021 |
Yes. How can you be led by the kind of leaders Nigeria had since independence up to date and you won't be confident? They try to make your life unbearable, then they go after your dreams, they incarcerate at the slightest provocation and if you raise your voice, they just kuku try to kill you. Everyday you wake and realise you're still here and kicking, confidence level that you are created to be something grows. It's not just confidence, it's mad optimism. If you then ever escape to a system where things works, you not only thrive, you simply come across as overconfident. That's just how an average Nigerians roll. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: My Dream Last Night. Please Pray For Nigeria! by Canvass: 8:26am On Sep 26, 2021 |
Your dream is everyday reality for some people already. Even if it is not physical for some, it may be financial or emotional or spiritual or medical or any other wise imaginable. Solution is to vote wisely and defend your vote in 2023. Prayer would successful have done its part by keeping this war at bay until that time. 5 Likes |

Politics / Re: Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan officially joins APC by Canvass: 2:28pm On Sep 15, 2021 |
Stage one, which was to bullishly enforce another 8 year term for a northern president, failed due to Buhari's ineptitude that caused Tinubu to receive sense quickly, the South banding tighter together and Wike to go into power-play mode. Stage two activated. Give presidency back to Goodluck Jonathan, to serve out a single term of 4 years and return power to the North. Let's see how the South react to this, not forgetting that Goodluck is not exactly a simp as he showed Obj in the run-in to 2015 elections. If he get to Aso Rock in 2023, his conceding in 2015 would turn out a masterstroke in Nigerian politics. |

VTJN: They killed Murtala around 2.00pm, immediately after Jumat service. There is no way Obj could have been sworn in at that time. There was an hiatus. I think technically, Nigeria was without a president at that time but his first president would eventually be Obj. |

Christistruth00: I absolutely subscribe to your brilliant points, especially that Owambe own. All those 'Ijebu' men that places premium on grand parties over more important things and all those claiming 'big-for-nothing' must get sense by force. Only that the same politicians putting the laws in place would be the first to circumvent those laws. Such a sad country. 11 Likes |

FIRS workers are just collateral damage to Wike's friendly fire. They should not forget that each state will have a more vibrant SIRS now, which will employ indegenes and create more employment opportunities than restrictive FIRS. The employees can focus on the petroleum tax and other taxes and be managing that like that, so as to let the cookies go round, or resign their appointments at FIRS and go back to their various SIRS for employment. On this VAT issue, Wike is right, regardless of whose head is rolling. 259 Likes 18 Shares |

Those countries are also not governed using two different legal codes. With Sharia firmly in place in the north and people like Gumi roaming free, separation of identity has become pertinent in Nigeria. Let Nigeria be first in something. Let us start with state VAT collection and other will come and learn from us after a while. Wike, you are good to go. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

Correct. Hope Uzodinma, i hope you are catching the direction of the breeze. Don't sell the 'land of hope' to hopeless politics. Stop licking the ass of a stinking herdman and let Wike guide you through the rite of passage from Fulani toyboy to a real Igbo man. Even senior Fulani asslicker is repenting on his death-bed in London and instructing his fu*k boy, Sanwoolu, to follow Wike's lead. 69 Likes 1 Share |

Religion / Re: What Is Religion? by Canvass: 11:43am On Sep 08, 2021 |
Religion is what people do to be in harmony with self and nature. Politics is what people do to be in harmony with others based on principle of self preservation. The self in both often leads to self centeredness and selfishness, bastardizing the initial noble intentions. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Fuel Price: Again, FG Rejects Govs’ N380/Litre Proposal by Canvass: 7:40am On Aug 14, 2021 |
Something must lead to complete breakdown of laws and order in Nigeria. Subsidy must be totally removed, not because of any stupid market forces but because Nigeria as a major oil exporting country has no business importing fuel, talkless of subsidizing the importation of fuel. Are we not supposed to refine enough crude oil for local utilization before exporting the remaining crude oil to earn foreign exchange? 102 Likes 5 Shares |

gwarotango: It shows glaringly that "the man" was and is still an opportunist leader that seeks power not because he knows exactly what to do with it except enjoying the perks that comes with it. We are counting down the clock to that day he'll vacate the seat. I just hope he won't suddenly realise he knows what's best for Nigeria then, like Obasanjo, IBB and Abdul-Salam. 1 Like |
