Culture / Re: Ways To Identify SA Tribes By Their Traditional Dance Moves. by Canvass: 11:42pm On Oct 16, 2023 |
All are energetic dances with so much vigor required. Through Africa, we may differ but we share a lot of things in common. Except for the Zulu dance, we'll find tribes in Nigeria that dance in similar ways to these dances. |
Politics / Re: Enact Law That Will Force Civil Servant To Marry More Wives - Sheikh Aminu Baba by Canvass: 11:23pm On Oct 16, 2023 |
To think this man is important enough as a religious leader that whatever he says can make the news is scary. He is not even saying they should be encouraged to take more wives. He is saying they must be compelled! May the good Lord continue to guide us right. |

Education / Re: Fee Hike: 50% Of Students Will Drop Out Of School In Two Years – ASUU by Canvass: 5:30pm On Sep 25, 2023 |
mrvitalis: Lol, Mr. Vitalis now. Increasing the prices for fun should have been fun except for the feeling it won't end up funny. Profit depends on turnover and if you increase prices for fun, how will quickly get the money to plough back into the business? Let my Igbo brothers and sisters keep doing their businesses the way they make the best money and use the money to buy what the government is making difficult for the common man to get. That should prove the point that, in all situations, the righteous are covered. |

Family / Re: My Mom Doesn't Appreciate Me. How Do I Handle This? by Canvass: 6:01pm On Sep 21, 2023 |
If it is for her to appreciate you is all you want, that is easy. Stop looking to impress her and be nonchalant in attitude. Just do your thing and whenever she complains, ignore her completely. You don't expect people to change, you change your actions towards them. However, you can hang on to her every word knowing she's one of the people that knows you well and would do anything for you to turn out good in life. Take criticisms as constructively as you can and keep on striving to meet her expected standards. In the end, you can only gain valuable lessons. All in all, be careful of whatever you wish for. What you want might not be what you need. Shalom. |
Sports / Re: Tobi Amusan: AIU Files Appeal To Court Of Arbitration For Sports by Canvass: 7:39pm On Sep 18, 2023 |
Eriokanmi: I agree with you. I think it's more about psychological manipulation than anything. Sunday Bada gave Michael Johnson some challenges when he was a reigning 400-meter World champion, yet he questioned Amusan's success at the Worlds in 2022. Nigeria is one of the few nations to have two athletes at the starting block of an Olympic 100-meter final. Sprinting is in our DNA, so they should stop acting like Nigerians are outsiders on the tracks. Marion Jones doped but that does mean Richardson is doping. Ben Johnson doped but it does not mean Adrea De Grass is doping. Okhagare doped but that does not mean Amusan is doping. 1 Like |
Sports / Re: Tobi Amusan: AIU Files Appeal To Court Of Arbitration For Sports by Canvass: 7:30pm On Sep 18, 2023 |
Ashirioluwa: Sure, she knows the rules but if you look at those rules, it is easy to manipulate and that is the reason she was let off the hook. As an athlete, you are provided with your probable itinerary to the doping unit for access at any time. If you give your list of probable locations and times, the tester needs to call you and wait for a stipulated amount of time if you are not at the location at that particular moment because they know living is a dynamic thing. If the tester cannot show evidence of calls or waiting the required time, then manipulation of the rules is suspected and the athlete is let off the hook. The integrity unit is only appealing because they said they don't to make her case a negative precedence for future occurrence. However, how about the ineptitude of their tester? If anything would happen, it is the rules that would change. Nothing is happening to Tobi Amusan. |
Sports / Re: Tobi Amusan: AIU Files Appeal To Court Of Arbitration For Sports by Canvass: 6:59pm On Sep 18, 2023 |
This is not a race thing. Since Michael Johnson, who should know better, cast doubt on her fine outing at World Athletics in Eugene, Oregon in 2022, I knew the athletics oligarchy was coming for her. You have to be from one of the super countries or their colonies in the Caribbean to qualify as the best. If you stay in the shadows of greatness like Tah Lou of Cote d'Ivoire, no problem. However, if you decide to be the lead like Amusan, then expect some real trouble. 1 Like |
Family / Re: Never Allow Your Wife To Pay Rent. by Canvass: 10:22pm On Sep 16, 2023 |
A man must pay rent but a woman owns the house. Hmmm. In these days of feminism, I won't want to rent and furnish an apartment and allow any woman to drag the head of the family with me. It's either I pay all the bills and dictate the tune or she pays some and has some say. I can't come and kill myself in the name of being responsible. If a woman would have a sense of entitlement because she's paying some, let her have it. After all, if I pay all, she'll still have that sense of entitlement. 2 Likes |
Romance / Re: Why Do Women Easily Fall For Bad Boys? Than Responsible Ones. by Canvass: 2:51pm On Sep 16, 2023 |
I think bad or good is relative. One woman's bad boy is another woman's good boy. Bad boys are often unstable and very active. Activities lead to interesting things, good or bad. Good boys are often stable and stability leads to predictability and boredom. A stable woman still wants pleasant surprises and active lifestyles sometimes. Infidelity can often be traced to monotony, repetitiveness, boredom, and lack of imagination on the part of one or both of the partners in a relationship. Money is the only other factor stronger than these. 4 Likes 1 Share |

breezeng: We know all the positives of digital I.d. but what is the main objective and gain of the World Bank in our identities? They already named it. It is called Economic Inclusiveness moving into Digital Age. Instead of using our governments to control people, they have taken it upon themselves to micro-manage the situation of monitoring and controlling people themselves. With our digital footprints all over the web, it is easy to monitor every aspect of our life and manipulate us at will. If you are a person of interest, then only God can help you. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: What Is Your Take On Dele Alake’s Appointment As Minister Of Solid Minerals? by Canvass: 10:55am On Aug 17, 2023 |
I guess Dele Alake is put in the position to checkmate the tendencies of the Northern royals and oligarchy in mining solid minerals for personal gains rather than for the coffers of the government. The South-South cannot be producing oil for national coffers while the North hoard solid minerals for a selected few. Although, the practice is no longer exclusive to the North. We have also witnessed this in the South West. 1 Like |

malcom1X: Well said but the health implication is the problem. For distant cousins, the bloodline must have diversified to an extent, it may not be bad. However, for close cousins, it would amount to inbreeding that not only keep the blood pure but also retain genetic defects in the bloodline. Odiegwu ooo. 1 Like |
Foreign Affairs / Re: ECOWAS Activates Military Standby Force Over Niger Republic by Canvass: 6:01pm On Aug 10, 2023 |
There goes money that should be used for national development. Nigeria is ECOWAS's big brother and would fund most of this senseless war. It is expected that ECOWAS would order the invasion though because the West, through IMF and World Bank, has been controlling most of West Africa's economies. He who pays the piper dictates the tune. I hope Tinubu won't damage Nigeria in the long run while trying to please the West. 2 Likes |
Sports / Re: Basketball: Liz Cambage Says She's In Talks To Represent Nigeria by Canvass: 9:59am On Aug 08, 2023 |
pongwa: She's always welcome in the first instance. In all of these, I feel pity for Cambage. There is no battle greater than the one you fight against yourself. She must have been torn from within fighting racism and searching for acceptance all her life. If her father is Nigerian, why did she adopt Cambage as her surname? It is obvious she wished for her biracial background to just disappear and she's accepted as a full-fledged white Australian. This problem also affected Naomi Osaka and she's been breaking down emotionally. This PR clout of wanting to play for Nigeria is not the solution. Accepting who she is and embracing her racial heritage should be a better approach. 1 Like |

The 'sheer bra' caption attracted me but I see nothing. Why was she trying to draw that waistless skirt up? If you choose to go naked, then no point trying to cover up again now! Foreign Affairs / Re: Niger Suspend French Broadcasters France 24 And RFI by Canvass: 10:56pm On Aug 03, 2023 |
France, like all other colonialists, has been an undying pest to Francophone Africa since the slave trade period and they never even try to cover their disdain and greed. How can most, if not all, Francophone African countries have their Central Bank in Paris with France dictating how they spend their generated revenue? I just hope Russia and China's exploitation won't be much more than that of France when they eventually become well-established in Africa. We understand that African countries have always been the pawns of the international chessboard since they discovered the continent. |
