Bros I just watched the first video (as I've already watched the second one). What did you think of Chinweizu's comments about use of the racial slur "nigger" and his definition of niggerology? Also, do you think his suggested solutions to our problems are workable?

Why?- because Nigeria's worst enemies are right there in Nigeria, from the leaders, to the people. Yes, a lot of the problems in Africa has to do with white imperialism. However, that doesn't negate the fact that there are also willing tools on the continent exploiting the status quo to their advantage. It's a two-headed dragon and you can't fight one without fighting the other. And Wole Soyinka focuses more on the enemies within than wasting time but doesn't mean he's pro-West.

Was the West the one who coerced Nigerian leaders into robbing the country blind? Is the West responsible for the extreme corruption, lack of institutions, debilitated infrastructures et al in Nigeria? Are they responsible for the educated illiterates Nigeria keeps churning out at an alarming rate? Etc.

You don't know much about Dubois and what he achieved. Apart from the problems he had with Marcus Garvey (which he later apologised for) - he's one of the greatest black people to ever walk this planet. Without Dubois and Booker T. Washington, there won't be black history today.

And you cant criticise the puppet without exposing the puppet master but Soyinka skilfully avoids implicating the puppet master while concentrating all of his attacks on the puppet. Without the puppet master there is no puppet .

Without the World Bank and the IMF there would be no IBB, Obasanjo or Okonjo Iweala.

If you are diagnosing a disease do you only focus on the symptoms or do you investigate the cause?

Marcus Garvey advocated unity of blacks worldwide, he also advocated black economic self determination which you claim to believe in.

Du Bois and Booker T believed in the creation of a light skinned black elite class (aka the talented tenth) who would lord it over the masses of dark skinned "ignorant" blacks. This buffer class would act as a lackey class whose main role would be to prevent the darker skinned masses from rising up against their oppressors.

MLK was also an advocate of the integrationist ideology (although he came to accept its limitations towards the end of his life) and the result was blacks losing the little economic power that they had because blacks could now spend their money in white owned shops and restaurants rather than in businesses in their own communities.
In other words integration was of more benefit to whites than it was to blacks and that's why it was made possible.

Lmao. Now I know you just love blabbing. You cited names of African leaders. Is Wole Soyinka a leader, or just an academic?

Who's Dr Chinweizu Ibekwe? I don't know the guy. Wole Soyinka is similar to W.E.B DuBois and you can't compare him to some any guy who just sits there and rant everyday.

By the way Dr Ibekwe is not just a guy who sits around ranting on the internet, he is an acclaimed writer, please try reading his book - The west and the rest of us .

Academics are very influential people when it comes to social discourse because their views tend to be highly respected. Soyinka only uses his position to lambast corrupt Nigerian leaders but never points the finger at their masters, why is that?
WEB du bois was a sell out coon who beleived in integration. He believed that if blacks acted and behaved liked whites they would be accepted. You onlyhave to take a look at what is happening in the US today to know that this ideology has failed miserably. Coonish Du bois was a fervent advocate of colourism and looked down on dark skinned blacks, you probably don't know this but he hated Marcus Garvey believing him to be too dark skinned to qualify as a black American leader - this way of thinking still persists in black America till today.

Ironically Du Bois ended up being declared an enemy of the state by the US authorities to the extent that the US govt refused to renew his passport in 1963 forcing him to remain in Ghana (where he was visiting at the time )where he eventually died.

Wole Soyinka's quote about Malcolm X:

Malcolm X remains unquestionably one of the most intriguing minds in liberation history anywhere. As one who did meet and interact with him on his own currently embattled terrain, Nigeria, I cannot help speculating what directions its contents may have taken, given the convulsions within, and attributable to, a religion that worked such profound transformations in his personal odyssey. From whichever perspective, this is an invaluable addition to the library of socio-political thinkers—and seekers after a just world order.

=====================================================

Anyway, I'm still waiting for ya list of those who aren't puppets. And don't go ghost like you did the last time when I asked you to proffer solutions to black problems, since nothing is ever good to you. grin

Non western African puppets:

Robert Mugabe
the late Thomas Sankara
the late Patrice Lumumba
the late Kwame Nkrumah
the late Muammar Qadaffi

I also have a lot of respect for Dr Chinweizu Ibekwe (a Nigerian historian) I'm sure there are also a few other pan Africanist Africans who im not aware of.

My solutions have always hinged on the need for black Africa to sever all political and economic links with Europe and the US and forge stronger economic ties with the BRICS nations, at an individual level I have always advocated that we continue to educate ourselves about our own history as well as the history of our oppressors in order to rid ourselves of our self hatred.

Oh please, who hasn't been through a lot of obstacles in life? I'm not even judging him cos it comes with the territory and certain things will always be with you for a lifetime, when you're from a certain place - product of ya environment. However, when you start making him look like a saint, while trying to portray the next man from similar background in bad light - that's what I've got a problem with.

Lmao @ Mike Tyson's invincibility. He wasn't invincible when the bum, Buster Douglas, knocked his arse out cold, and put him to sleep. He wasn't invincible when he turned into a cannibal and bit off Holyfield's ear. And he sure wasn't invincible when Lennox Lewis put him to sleep. I'm a fan of some of Tyson's exploit in the ring - but the guy is/was an obnoxious coon.

How about tell me who isn't a puppet cos you call everyone a puppet? I need names.

I wasn't making him look like a saint I was simply acknowledging his achievements in the ring, but you seem to be obsessed with his life outside the ring. I hope you know everyone has their Achilles heel, his just happens to be women, drugs and alcohol and I can name several other high profile athletes who are even worse than him when it comes to that, at least he takes care of his children.

His record speaks for itself 58 fights, 50 wins, 44 by knockout, 6 losses.
The fact that he lost 6 fights out of 58 hardly makes him a loser, it makes him a human being.
No-one is immune from failure in life, therefore to ridicule a man simply because he lost to a man you describe as a bum shows a lack of maturity on your part.

As I've said previously Tyson's Achilles heel is his mind, he was unable to conquer a lot of negative emotions that were eating him up after Cus Damato's death as a result he couldn't stay focused that's the reason why he lost to Douglas. By the time he fought Lewis and Holyfield his mental state had declined even further. Neither Holyfield nor Lewis could have withstood Tyson in his prime.

Go and read a copy of his Nobel prize( the prize given to him by the west) acceptance speech and get a feeling of one of the true heroes of Africa.

Can you please name just one of his works in which he criticises western powers, i am aware of the fact that he has had major conflict with successive Nigerian regimes but he always manages to stop short of criticising their puppet masters - the western powers.

The truth of the matter is that Soyinka will never bite the hand that feeds him, his main source of income comes from his various university appointments abroad, that's why he was even allowed to be in the running for this s.tupid oxford post which confers nothing of value on the average Nigerian.

Mike Tyson, a Brownsville nyggah, who even at the peak of his career, was still running around with killers and stick up kids like hommo (the guy who shot 50 cent 9 times) and Nuts (the guy who rap.ed Egypt, a former radio presenter and the leader of Get Money crew) - whose rise to fame was about killing other black people and polluting black neighbourhoods with crack cocaine - is ya hero. A Mike Tyson, who has never done anything for anyone, apart from running with thugs and making white folks rich as a perpetual coon.

Yes, Kanye West is a darn genius - go heck his body of work. Tupac Shakur is the most influential musician ever and he was the Malcolm X of hip-hop. And Floyd Mayweather is a marketing and business genius - who else has been able to make the same money he made in boxing?

How about tell me who isn't a puppet cos everyone is a puppet to you. I need names.

Mike Tyson remains my hero for overcoming a lot of obstacles in his life which were not of his making, applying himself to his craft and becoming one of the most invincible fighters in boxing history.

Of what benefit is this post to the average Nigerian?
How many Nigerians actually understand Soyinka's literary style?
I find his writing to be very pretentious and inaccessible to about 90% of Nigerians so what is really the point of it?
Also Soyinka never criticises the western world which for me indicates that he is an imperialist puppet.

Yes the guys were wrong, but could she have avoided the event? maybe. She said one of the friends grabbed her and threw her on the bed and she thought he was playing, was she used to these sort of play and did she warn the guy when he did it before? Did she read the signs in their lustful stares before that day and stay away?
Its unhealthy to ignore signs that show you are being monitored for an attack by a predator. Most bad incidents show signs before they happen. Friends don't turn enemies overnight, the signs usually appear and someone overlooked them. The guys have probably shown her their true motives and she just laughed it off without taking the signs seriously. Mad people would always do mad things, A lion will always eat meat, do not mistake its playful nature for friendship, it is just trying to earn your trust to keep you close for the day it gets hungry, so it wouldn't have to run 500kms to hunt you down.

Why is it so difficult for you people to understand that in order to have sex with a woman she must give her consent? Even if she had been used to playing around with the guy, does that mean that she had no right to say no to sex with him and 2 of his friends?
This girl is 19 years old, she is still a kid, there are a lot of girls of that age who act like tom boys especially if they grow up in a household where they are the only girl in a household of male siblings, she trusted this guy and probably looked up to him as an older brother, what is wrong with that?
You mentioned lions having an instinctive need for meat, yes that's true but lions are animals and their lust for meat is based on a natural instinct to hunt and kill in order to survive, do human beings need to ra.pe in order to stay alive?
The difference between a human being and an animal is that the human being (hopefully) has the ability to exercise self control - when you make the kind of excuses that you've made above you are basically saying that you are incapable of behaving like a human being, well if that is the case you should be treated like an animal and you know that when an animal attacks a human being it is usually killed.

A young girl's life has been destroyed forever and some sub human beasts on this thread are blaming her. It makes me sick to the stomach to imagine what girls and women are being exposed to on a daily basis in that cess pit of a country.

Rape destroys a person's soul, that girls mother has lost a daughter, majority of ra.pe victims experience post traumatic stress disorder, emotional problems and some find it so difficult to cope that they even take their own lives, therefore it is imperative that these beasts are made to pay dearly for destroying an innocent life. IN the western world ra.pe is treated very seriously, even after a ra.pist has served time he is constantly monitored and many are not allowed to work in certain places.

That girl will never be the same again as her dignity has been ripped away from her by a pack of filthy animals who have zero regard for women. For those beasts on this thread who are blaming this poor girl, shame on you! the fact that a girl has a guy as a friend does not mean she wants to sleep with him, you people are so primitive and backward that you still haven't been able to understand that sex has to be consensual. If a woman does not say yes that means no, only wild animals force themselves sexually on another, as a matter of fact some animals do not have sex with each other without the other animal showing some sign of agreement but Nigerian men seem to think that its okay to gang rape a young girl simply because she kept going to the room of one of the guys - this is a big and disgusting shame. Remember today it was this girl tomorrow it might be your sister, mother, auntie or daughter.
I hope those beasts are given extremely heavy prison sentences in order to send out a very clear message to all potential ra.pists out there that if you like ra.ping women be ready to pay the price. undecided

why do you people blame women for your lack of self control , does a woman not have the right to choose who to date or sleep with, are women nothing more than sperm buckets to you? please we shouldn't jump into conclusion yet, like some posters have already done...there's more to this story, someone is not just telling the truth.....ra'pe my a'ss angry she probably has been having an affair with the guy in question, just that this time she wasn't expecting a foursome

She trusted the guy and took him as a friend that's why she went to his room, but in your mind she deserved to be gang raped, I honestly feel sorry for the woman (if you have one) in your life

The guy is right, but it doesn't have to be this way for black African people... The girl even said it herself that she was "raised" by a white woman, one who enjoyed a guise of privilege, her own seat in their system (more on this later). I dont believe whites are supreme over anyone. I'm thoroughly convinced that they've put a system together to convince us of some white reign. The last guy I'll call supreme is the guy who is trying to keep his boot on my neck. African nations can change this any day but they don't -- Mugabe was right for calling Nigeria out regarding Libya but Nigeria had its own interests in mind like its own currency. Most African leaders are pampered by the guise of privilege they receive at the cost of starving their people. Like the girl in your vid, many blacks use the naivety of exposure to "good" whites believing we're all created equally in the eyes of white racism. They see those impacted by racism as weak, defeated and making excuses, while likely enjoying their own guise of privilege. Use them to screw with others , as this was done in slavery, the girl is doing it in the video, black leaders do it, and I'm sure we all a black person like this.

There are those people who refuse to see past anything other than the problems currently surrounding them and the black leaders they believe caused these problems. Thus, by default, anything white is considered an escape and great (see pic). When people have to go without food, electricity, and other basic necessities it is hard to see outside their current problems to see awaiting injustices like racism.

Bros many black people (Africans, African Americans and black british ) are suffering from Stockholm syndrome, many of us have come to love our oppressor despite the centuries of abuse. You can imagine the rude shock that awaits that girl in the video later on in life. This is the way many Africans reason, they think racism is a thing of the past. Im sure you've heard about the young white man who killed several black people in a church in South Carolina just yesterday, that should tell you that as long as white people remain in power racism will never be eradicated.

By the way, that diagram you posted is absolutely on point, it totally depicts the mindset of the average African. The only way out of this nightmare of white supremacy is for Africa nations to recognise that whites are our common enemy, we need to form an economic and political bloc which is capable of resisting any kind of military or economic domination over us . It has already been proven that Africans don't need them in order to prosper, we can trade with China, India and other non western nations and still survive. The formation of the BRICS has proved that the western nations do not have a monopoly on economic power.

Africans are still subservient to whites in and outside Africa so the fact that you don't see African men carrying white women around like this today means nothing, they own our continent and our leaders. The average African thinks the white man is superior to him on all levels.
The younger generation are even more enslaved than the older ones, listen to the level of inferiority complex displayed in this young South African girl:

Toke looks like she uses skin bleaching cream and her wig/weaves give her this transvestite look lipsrsealed Toke also comes across as a superficial wanna be, I watched one of her videos and she comes across as one of these Nigerians who is desperately trying to speak and behave like a black british person or African American.
Perhaps the guy prefers a down to earth girl who he can be himself with. All the same he's succeeded in making both women look s.tupid and desperate by stringing them along for so many years.

Also DrGroove just to add to my earlier comments - if as you say women are inferior to men, why do you make them go out to work to provide for the home, you should treat them like children and make them stay home while you bring home the bacon. Why make a woman who you regard as inferior become solely responsible for feeding your children, paying school fees and paying the rent/mortgage, surely that should be the responsibility of the superior person?

God created women as second class creatures...God placed women lower than men.God doesn't love women and men equally.he made man superior to woman and that's is how nature is.I didn't make it so.
I wonder what point you are trying to prove, despite being a man(That you have any value for women? ).hahahaha, maybe because you live abroad so it's easy for you to say. I live in Africa and I know the stigma behind being an unmarried woman.an unmarried woman is a les bian, she is a prosti tute, she is a flirt, she is irresponsible, she is an expert in sleep ing with other women's husbands, amongst others.so no matter what it costs,a woman must strive to answer Mrs somebody, irrespective of how it hurts except she is ready to face the shame n ridicule associated with being single. Here, people don't mind their businesses as it is in the western world. My daughters will decide how they carry themselves, depending on where they will find themselves!
African economy cannot develop, that is why we are where we are today because the woman is still devalued and degraded.
It's left for an individual woman to pick herself up,dust herself and stand tall. Then she will be derogatorily known as a feminist!

Are you a practising Christian? I hope not because I have never read anywhere in the bible where women were described as inferior creatures.

Also the stigma you refer to which is attached to an unmarried woman is a manmade stigma and manmade stigmas change or are discarded as a people become more enlightened. For example 60 years ago black people in the US were not allowed to vote because they were regarded as intellectually and socially inferior to the white man but following major civil rights movements initiated by black americans this racist way of thinking has been relegated to the dustbin of history. Had this change not happened blacks in America would still face overt racial discrimination everywhere they went in the US and elsewhere in the world. Also if I may come closer to home, the practice of murdering twin babies is now regarded as a primitive and backward practice of an unenlightened people which no right thinking Nigerian would dream of practising today, that is the same way this practice of treating unmarried women as social pariahs will one day die out.
So with continuous evolution of a people comes enlightenment and the continuous desire to seek for greater knowledge and understanding of life as opposed to clinging onto backward and primitive values that are of no benefit to society as a whole.

The point of a woman getting married is for societal respect and status! I don't have a problem with men having children outside their matrimonial homes.Nigeria can not be like the west. Here the society belongs to men and laws are made by men.I don't think the law should be reformed because it can/will never be reformed to the advantage of a common second-class creature called a woman.I rather think women should be emotionally and financially independent and work hard to take care of themselves and children.Marriage is just for that "Mrs" title. If she is lucky to marry a man who still wants to practise the original concept of matrimony as planned by God,good for her.If otherwise, better! No disappointments, life goes on

What is the point of having societal status when your life at home is a misery? Those people that you are expecting respect from are not paying your kids school fees neither are they paying your rent or mortgage so why are you preoccupied with what they think of you?
Women in the west used to live this way in the 19th century but they fought for equality which resulted in equal pay for women, better job prospects and a general improvement of a woman's choices and options in life.

I'm surprised that you refer to women as second class creatures despite being a woman yourself, do you have daughters? If yes, is this how you teach them to view themselves? Women who are taught that they are inferior usually end up with abusive men who degrade and devalue them. Women make up 50% of the population of most countries and are a valuable labour force, societies that devalue women are usually backward because what they have done is essentially stifle the potential of half of their own population which has a negative knock on effect on the economic and social development of a nation.

A lot of women are sole breadwinners of family despite having husbands, its not news.In a time that men are becoming more irresponsible by the day. Some baby mamas are better off than wives.the baby papas may contribute n support children's upkeep despite not marrying the mothers.Meanwhile some husbands are investing in girlfriends, prostitutes and personal gains neglecting family responsibilities.
I believe life can actually be fun if one expects less of human beings.I am privileged to be educated and exposed.I will be a Foooooool to expect financial support from a man.If he remembers his kids, fine! Appreciated. If he doesn't, fine! I can provide! they are my children and I will sacrifice all to cater for them without looking at anybody's face.

If a woman is the sole breadwinner and she does not receive any emotional support from the husband - what is the point of her being married in the first place?

Also do you think that the law in Nigeria should be reformed so that a man who impregnates a woman (whether he is married to her or not) is forced to provide for that child financially until that child reaches the age of 18 years? In the west they call it child support and the money is automatically deducted from the man's salary every month. Do you think this will reduce the problem of men in Nigeria having children outside their matrimonial homes?

Nigeria has a serious problem when it comes to the way it treats children. undecided undecided

What's with all these hype about a married man impregnating his girlfriend?
Toke dis,Maje dat!
I really wonder what's the big deal is
So if Toke is a relationship expert, does it suddenly make her husband less of a man?
Una just dey hia dey give una sef headache.i won't be surprised the victim Toke won't be bothered.abi una think say she no know say her husband get another babe for that long?
Toke may have just wanted a ring on her finger and a Mrs title to fit into her society(thats is the only reason a woman needs to marry in dis generation, esp when she is successful n doesn't depend on a man for survival)
to the ladies bashing the man, hold ya self dere
No man,i repeat,no man ever gets satisfied screwing one woman.Hang urself if e dey pain u
Maje may have another babe(s) aside his baby mama to be,i won't be surprised
sex is food n experiment to men
Every man wants to bed as many women as possible, get that into ur skulls!
I really commend Maje for choosing his long time Gf to have his baby. Most men would hv gone for the maid, wife's sister, friend, recharge card seller, pure water hawker, dustbin packer, etc
If u want to marry,go ahead n marry.stop looking for faithful man,e no dey o.
in olden days when women were decent, sex was sacred, men cheated steady, some married more wives and the women understood.Marriage worked.nowadays wives be fighting hubby for sleeping wt another woman, why??
If u are expecting ur husband not to cheat When he is now forced to grudgingly unhappily marry only one wife, when everything in this world now suggests of sex, even the air we breathe and d food we eat is all about sex!,abeg wake up before u bedwet!
I am a lady and I tell u
A married man has 1 wife+10 girlfriends+100 flings
Drink otapiapia and die!
That's easier than quoting me to argue!!

so if your husband comes home to tell you that he has found a younger prettier version of you and she is pregnant with his baby you will be ok with it?

Am disappointed you could say beyonce's marriage is a business arrangement, so in other words celebrities can't marry for love or what? Its your opinion sha.

Its very rare for a celebrity to marry for love, its not that they don't want to, its just that its almost impossible to find someone to love you for you when you are super rich. The other day someone was interviewing 50 cent and asked him if he planned on getting married any time soon and he said no, because he doesn't think its worth it.

Most of the people coming around them are doing so for their money and fame - period. That's why so many of them either divorce so many times or stay away from marriage completely.
JayZ openly dates Rhianna along with numerous other women and Beyoncé knows this, that's the reason Solange his sister in law punched him in the face in an elevator. Did you notice how Beyoncé stood by and watched while Solange attacked him - hardly the action of a loving wife don't you think?

Like I said b4 marriage is different from dating no matter how flamboyant u r as soon as u get married u must have to reduce that esp if u want to stay married if not this wot u get
For older men well they r no nonsense men if she marry an older man she won't be seen In every party never besides they cheat moer have baby mamas more u r jsut dia to enjoy money check corline danjuma, bianca and co go check history of their husbands baby mama every where he will spoil u with money but is cage bro am tlking to u frm experience
Well she might be better off living in a cage and chained to an older uncaring rich man, she seems like the type who loves opulence, why not go for the rich older man, she might not get the love but at least she'll get the opulent lifestyle and she wont have to worry about money anymore. Right now she aint getting the opulent lifestyle or the love just heartache.

f I were to advise Toke Makinwa I would say - get a divorce, find someone who genuinely loves you

Why I singled dis part out is for records any way getting a divorce is the ast thing she will do coss the next man she is moving on with will cheat esp if she continue with her every day party and flambouyant life fact no man wants to be abandoned toke should work on her self 1st ( check Stephanie okereke linus as eg she got married and reduce falmbouyant life mercy johnson and co marriage should change a lot in both patners life

I don't think the flamboyance is what made him cheat after all he dated her for a good 12 years and he knew about her lifestyle.

Most men like women who have their own lives and are busy doing their own thing. Only really insecure men want couch potatoes as wives.

The bitter truth is that he does not love her, it doesn't take a man 12 years to know whether or not you are wife material.

Her best bet now is to go for an older wealthier man who will be grateful to have her on his arm eg A man like Oshiomole who will lavish money and attention on her, do you think Oshiomole would dare treat his gold digging wife like this?
