MzDarkSkin:thanks for that Mz Darkskin, the story behind Lumumba's murder is a very tragic one indeed and Im glad you are familiar with the details, there are many of our people who do not even know who he was and what he stood for, if you fail to educate yourself about your history you continue to swim in a sea of ignorance. Thanks again for being the voice of reason and intelligence |
MandingoII:Just as i thought - you desperately crave to be a white man - so in effect you are a self hating black man trapped in a black man's body thanks for letting us know, now i ask you this - what the hell are you doing on nairaland? why arent you trading stocks on the NYSE (if you can understand how it works) and amassing more of your supposed wealth- could it be because you are just another miserable, underemployed african american man earning minimum wage in some dead end job? Okay so we have now established that you secretely love and admire whitey and would love nothing better if you could wake up tomorrow, look in the mirror and discover that you are now a white man who no longer has to walk around with the burden of being a black man in america, surely that means that the only reason that you have beef with white america is that you are resentful of the fact that you were born a black man and not because you beleive that the white supremacist system is unjust - how tragic!! So youve got more in common with the white man who according to you you choose to ignore than africans - wow im so impressed!!!according to you - you and whitey both have the same culture - thats funny because the last time i checked white americans opted for complete and total separation from your communities - why is it that after the brown v board of education decision which permitted blacks to attend schools with white children the majority of whites went on a crazy rampage threatenting to kill, maim or beat blacks who dared to venture into their schools or neighbourhods , also explain to me why Kennedy had to call out federal troops to escort your african american people into white schools for their own security and protection. You see what you are doing here is exposing just how desperate and pathetic you are, cant you get it through your thick skull that these people dont want you? why are you begging people who hate you to accept you into their communities? Why are you pretending to have the same "culture" as people who handed down a second hand culture to you which you glorify, praise and pretend was something created out of your own ingenuity? American culture is empty, false and based on immorality, greed, hatred and empty materialism and this is what people like you praise and aspire to. You know what? you deserve the hellish existence that you have been condemned to in america. |
MandingoII:What is your culture? do you not understand that you have no culture, do you not understand that your language, your identity, your humanity was stripped away from you by your white slave masters, everything you are today was superimposed on you by your former slave master, your language, your world view, your dress, your religion are all alien to your ancestral origin, do you not know anything about where you originated from? Mobutu sese seko of Zaire and Idi Amin of Uganda were western puppets aided and abetted by the US and British govts. Mobutu was a US state dept asset or CIA agent, everyone except you seems to know this, he was imposed on the Zairean people for 35 years. A charismatic and democratically elected leader by the name of Patrice Lumumba had been Zaire's head of state until the unwelcome entry onto the Zairean political scene of Mobutu. The US govt didnt want lumumba in power because he was planning on nationalising the mining industry which the american and belgian multinational corporations were controlling. Lumumba's plan was to kick all the foreign multinationals out of Zaire, thats why your govt colluded with the Belgians and had him murdered. An american former CIA agent went public on this a number of years ago and described how he was driving around Kinshasa with Lumumba's body in the trunk of his car until he was given the order by the US state dept to destroy the remains of the body. He was instructed to burn the body up beyond recognition using acid - dont take my word for it do the research. |
MandingoII:you keep droning on about fighting - but what are you fighting for? the illusion of inclusion!!! i laugh in igbo ![]() you are a joke - a wise man chooses his battles, you have chosen the wrong battle because it is doomed to end in failure, who are your leaders? Obama ![]() Al Sharpton Louis Farrakhan ![]() who are they and where are they?? Look at all your militant leaders - even Louis farakhan knows there is a limit to how far he can go in his criticism of white supremacist america- look at how the FBI destroyed the black panther movement in the 60's using black informants to grass on their own people, look at the likes of mumia al jamar an intelligent black man placed on death row on trumped up charges of killing a police officer, and this is the society that you beleive black people in africa are envious of? you must think people are as st.up.id as you are. What good life are you enjoying, working three jobs in order to pay your bills, living from pay check to paycheck, fighting for everything - what kind of good life is that?? by the way your american multinationals appropriate our raw materials but they do so NOT to provide the likes of you with cheap manufactured products but to amass record breaking profits for their shareholders, you better get it right, you are not the beneficiary of america's capitalist economy, its the 1% who own america who are laughing all the way to the bank. Nike trainers manufactured in indonesia and thailand by child workers cost about $1 to make but Nike still sells them on to brainwashed individuals like you (who love to wear labels, for $100) - so tell me who is gaining from that? you or the multinational and their shareholders? |
MandingoII:Oh so you have finally agreed that you are black - praise the lord!!! What is your definition of being blessed? Let me explain something to you Mandingo, no man can rise above his people, do you understand what that means? It means that as long as you are part of a race of people who are universally derided you will be treated with contempt every where you go in the world UNTIL you demonstrate as a RACE not as one individual that you are capable of being masters of your own destiny. I know you have never read any of Garvey's work but try reading some of his speeches, you see Garvey understood that in order for blacks all over the world to be respected we would have to unite in order to found at least ONE economically and politically independent black nation. He accurately forsaw that the black race would only gain recognition and respect if it could boast of having even one great super power that could stand on its own two feet without any external interference from europe or america. How can you talk about being blessed when every aspect of your life as an african american is controlled by white supremacist american govt policy? the blacks in america who have "achieved fame , wealth and status in america have done so on white america's terms. The US govt PAID OFF what was left of your remaining civil rights leaders - Jesse Jackson became an instant millionaire once he decided to compromise his militant views, Andrew Young (former mayor of atlanta and ambassador to the UN was paid off with the aforementioned positions in govt, today andrew young is a multi milionaire business man who even has contacts with high ranking political figures in the nigerian govt) You see just as Malcolm X said you have been bamboozled by your white supremacist masters, they have lulled you (yet again) into a sense of false security, convincing you that you won the civil rights battle in the 60's when in reality all that happened was that all your militant leaders who failed to be bought off with money and high positions in the US govt were murdered or incarcerated. To say that you are a second class citizen in america is an understatement you are actually a member of an underclass, and you will remain a member of that underclass as long as you are a black man living in a society where whites remain in the majority and control the socio economic destiny of blacks in that country. |
MzDarkSkin:thanks Mz Darkskin, Mandingo is a prime example of how white america has failed its black population, years of systematic brainwashing has created the type of diseased mentality that you see in the likes of Mandingo. Why would anyone respect a person who hates themself? Mandingo rails against the injustices of white supremacy but in the same breath declares that he is superior to his african brother. How can a white man respect you when you hate yourself? do you see white americans disassociating themselves from their european origins, does former mayor of new york Rudy Giulanni speak with contempt about his italian ancestry? Does Bill Clinton speak with derision about the ravages of the potatoe famine and poverty in ireland that drove many of his irish ancestors to seek a better life in america? Mandingo is totally and completely devoid of any iota of common sense, he is caught up in the gangsta rap mentality and culture that was created by the white corporate entertainment industry of america and THAT is his template. |
MandingoII:just thought id respond to the above: the "template" that you claim to have given africans in the UK exists only in your feverish and unhinged imagination, let me enlighten you on a few facts, africans only started coming to the UK in large numbers as recently as the 1980s onwards we had no interest in being a part of a system built on the doctrine of white supremacy, we had fought for and acquired independence from white colonialists in the 1960s and our next step was to develop and build up our economies in order to make our people capable of competing with the western nations as equals not as pathetic subservient slaves. Only a deluded fool would imagine that a black minority making up only 13 % of the population of a country and who were brought to that country as chattel would ever acheive equality with a white majority with a 400 year head start. We are not begging whites in the UK for the crumbs of inclusion because we know that that is a battle meant for delusional loosers like african americans. Africans know that you can only acheive economic and political independence IF YOU ARE THE MASTER OF YOUR OWN DESTINY, Marcus Garvey knew this and this is why he advocated the back to africa programme which was met with derision from the likes of desperate Du Bois. 80 years after Garvey's call for Pan africanism african americans are still begging whites to recognise them as equal citizens in a nation that does not want them. You sit in america fighting for the left overs thrown to you by white america, your men are all banged up in maximum security prisons, your families have been destroyed through drugs, poor education and white supremacist policies and STILL you think you are better off than blacks in africa who are in much better mental shape than the majority of african american blacks . yes the white establishement has allowed a few lap dogs to be given prominent jobs; condoleeza rice colin powell oprah winfrey bill cosby and it has allowed some rented negroes in the entertainment industry to amass huge wealth: P diddy Jay Zee Beyonce Halle Berry Samuel L jackson but pray tell, what have these people done to advance the cause of the average black person (like yourself) in america - JACKSHIT thats what, and you know what the minute they ever stand up to denounce any aspect of the white supremacist establishement that made them rich they will be dead meat and they know it. |
MandingoII:i can see that you are yet another casualty of the american public school system that has succeeded in churning out millions of functional illiterates. first of all i am not advocating UNCONTROLLED PROCREATION OF the black population of america i am simply highlighting the various ways in which the US govt has conducted A GRADUAL DECIMATION OF THE BLACK POPULATION IN AMERICA i mentioned the various ways in which this was done and i stated that this is a WORK IN PROGRESS, if you think that it is fine for your own govt to conduct covert ethnic cleansing exercises against members of your own race despite the fact that blacks only constitute 13% of the american population - who am i to argue with you? Now turning to your ignorant and ridiculous statement about nigeria, let me enlighten you, nigeria's problems do not stem from its vast population but from ECONOMIC MISMANAGEMENT of its ABUNDANT NATURAL RESOURCES. Nigeria with its vast tracts of agricultural land was AND STILL IS able to feed its population adequately AND STILL HAVE more than enough food in reserve for export, the problem we have which is exaggerated and blown out of all proportion by america's racist propaganda machines like the CNN, Fox etc is that our leadership have embraced the economic models created by Washington and London. These policies known as the Washington Consensus stipulate that african economies should concentrate on the supply of export commodities to western nations rather than develop their own manufacturing industry . In nigeria today our corrupt leadership has chosen to implement policies which are designed to further enrich the foreign multinational corporations whilst simultaneously destroying local industry. the IMF and World bank have recommended that we devalue our currency, cut public spending on education, health and other social services which has in turn led to mass unemployment, brain drain, increase in criminal activity, poverty etc. The thing brainwashed african americans like yourself do not understand is that your former slave masters are still playing games with your mind - they tell you that we in africa are primitive backward, diseased, starving etc in order to divert you away from the centuries of abuse and degradation that they meted out to your ancestors and are still meting out to you(albeit in a covert manner). I grew up in nigeria and the picture people like yourself try to paint of disease and starvation is a gross distortion of the reality. I am not denying that poverty exists in africa, of course it does, but wherever you find inequality you will find poverty. The type of poverty we have in africa is rooted in economic mismanagment of our god given natural resources as well as external manipulation from corrupt western govts like the US and britain. You speak as if we africans are unaware of the plight of african americans and the grim existence you were condemned to less than 45 years ago. Every thing that you claim to enjoy in america today involved you having to fight and in some instances die to acquire, basic human rights that were given automatically to whites were denied to you and your ancestors and in many instances this still remains the case. You had to go to the supreme court to be ALLOWED to attend the same schools as a white person (Brown vs Board of education) You had to endure beatings, lynchings, humiliations, r.ape before you could be allowed to live in the same (poor) neighbourhood as a white person - and yet you feel you are some how "better" off than an african person - if this is not the height of self delusion i dont know what is. You see, what i was trying to point out to you but which obviously went way over your head was that we africans and you african americans face a COMMON ENEMY - you are no better off than us, in fact in many ways we are better off than you because we actually have a landmass to call our own whereas you are like the proverbial unwanted guest who has overstayed his welcome. Are you upset because i have burst your bubble of self delusion and told you the truth about your existence in america. If the white majority population in america had their way today the entire black population in america would be deported and if you think that is an impossibility you better cast your mind back to hitler's persecution of the jews in europe and how all the other european nations stood by and did nothing whilst he conducted his "final solution" . Mz Dark skin made a very important point about the most militant black leaders in america being of west indian origin - that is 100% accurate. Marcus Garvey - Jamaican Stokeley Carmichael - Trinidadian even Malcom X had west indian roots (on his mother side) Your so called african american born leaders were some of the biggest uncle toms ever known to man - WEB du bois a mixed race ar.se licker spent years begging the white men to toss blacks (mainly the light skinned ones) some crumbs from their table, but what was even more disheartening was the instrumental role he and some other lap dog self hating negros played in the destruction and eventual deportation of the great Marcus Garvey from america. what was Du bois grouse with Garvey? that Garvey was too black and african looking to be a leader of the black cause, can you see a correlation here? You see you (fake Mandingo) sound very much like Du Bois - full of hatred of self. Du Bois thought that because he had some white blood in him, attended harvard and was a professor of history he would be treated differently by the white establishment, unfortunately for him he was reminded time and time again that he was just another n.igg.er , you see mandingo you can try as much as possible to fit in to mainstream american society but as long as your skin is not white you will remain just another n.igger. Somethign tells me that you know this, and that you are raging against your african ancestry but hey i digress. Garvey is to date the only black leader who understood the dilemma of the black race, he tried to explain it to brainwashed self hating negros like you and Du bois but they had the temerity to look down on him because according to them he "was too african in appearance". Du bois spent practically the whole of his life begging for equality from a race of people who treated him with nothing but scorn and contempt, the final insult came in 1963 when the US state dept refused to renew Du Bois US passport - in frustration guess where he went to live and eventually die? Yes you guessed it Ghana in Africa. Mandingo i know you are very ignorant of your own history but try and learn something from the above story, YOU WILL NEVER BE ACCEPTED BY MAINSTREAM WHITE AMERICA you are regarded as a member of an alien race whose humanity has never been regarded as equal to the humanity of a white man. Besides man. You have 1 out of every 3 Nigerian man in America DYING to be with a white woman. Nigga you in the UK. You do not even HAVE ONE BLACK LEADER!!! There is NO BODY BLACK IN THE UK that can mobilize and communicate to your people. We Blacks in the U.S. have given you a template, yet you Africans in the U.K. remain PASSIVE.You've got it wrong, you see many african americans like yourself secretly despise being black, they cant think of anything more abhorrent than having children who are african in appearance hence their fixation with white women (usually the white women rejected by white men) . Look around you Mandingo, what is the first thing a "successful" african american man does once he has two pennies to rub together? Yes you guessed it - he gets himself a white woman or at least a supposedly black woman who looks white. Im not going to embarrass you by mentioning names or i'll be here all day but im sure you get the picture. Look at who you african americans hold up as the epitome of black female beauty - Halle Berry, Lena Horne, Vannessa Williams? need i say more? Colourism or the practice of acccording eople with different skin tones differing social treatment is a way of life in the african american community - your people are still very much entrenched in the self hatred which was ingrained into you since the days of slavery, i see it in your pathetic utterances, in your deluded mindset you think a black person who looks closer in appearance to a white person is "superior" to a black person with undilute african physical features, i would love to see what you look like, i have a feeling you have the typical west african features of your ancestors. EVERYBODY WANTS TO GET TO AMERIKKA-BECAUSE WE AFRICAN AMERICANS are stunting and struggling and progressing. Africans are dying to REPLACE us, but when they get here, they soon learn THEIR place.Let me correct your delusional mindset - NOT everyone wants to live in america, i have loads of relatives in america and i have visited america so many times, i have NO INTEREST OR DESIRE TO LIVE in a country whose foundation is built on genocide, hatred , greed and materialism - look at how twisted and full of self hatred you are, do you not see that you are that way because you have grown up in a society that has drummed it into your head that you are a member of an inferior race? your place pal is right at the bottom of the food chain, in africa i can walk around with dignity, self respect and humanity, i dont have to keep fighting to prove that im just as good as the next guy, whereas with you thats all you do on a daily basis, sorry mate dont want to trade places with you for anythign. African americans set the pace according to the instructions given to them by their white masters, dont be fooled by Obama - he is a puppet of Wall Street and AIPAC (american israel public affairs commitee) , he has no power. Notice how he distanced himself from all the militant black leaders in america including his own pastor? |
mandingo said:Bro i agree with you, african americans did fight a courageous battle but the evil machinations of the white supremacists continue to date. After they got rid of all your great leaders, Malcolm X, Stokeley Carmichael, Martin Luther King, they went into overdrive and came down hard on the black communities. They succeeded in destroying the black communities and pitting black men against black women thereby ensuring the total collapse of the black family in america. The CIA then introduced crack cocaine into the black community which sounded the death knell for progress in your communities. Since the abolition of slavery whitey has been faced with a dilemma - the question of what to do with its black population. Ever heard of a woman by the name of Margaret Sanger? well, she was a US govt agent used by the white elite to "control" the growth of the black population in america in the early part of the 20th century, she founded an organisation known as the American Birth Control League which eventually became known as Planned Parenthood, what is so sad about this situation is that many supposedly educated african americans bought into it and were hoodwinked into beleiving that it would be in the interest of the black community to reduce the number of children they had, in a bid to be accepted by white mainstream society, many educated blacks started preaching this warped ideology of population control of their own people, before long abortion clinics began springing up everywhere in the black community. what many blacks in america didnt understand was that they were comitting race suicide under the guidance of an evil eugenicist, if you look at america today, you can see that race suicide of the black race is still a work in progress, black men - the ones who are not tied up in the prison industrial complex are either no longer having children with black women but opting to go for women of other races instead, this is all part of the eugenics programme of white america - reduction of the black population in america Planned Parenthood has many rich financiers such as Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, these are people who if they had one wish it would be for all the black people in america to disappear. by the way eugenics or "race hygiene" as it used to be known in the US in the 1920's is basically the purification of the Aryan race by the removal of groups who are considered to be "unfit" from mainstream society, in the early part of the 20th century black people were on the receiving end of this programme in the following ways: lynching, segregation, sterilisation and abortion, now it is done by way of incarceration of large nos of black men, introduction of crack cocaine into the black community, mass incarceration of young black men , decriminalisation of miscegenation or race mixing and high rates of abortion under the guise of "family planning" and finally HIV aids. when slavery ended the white elite realised that they no longer had any more use for the black population, they did a cost benefit analysis and the US govt realised that it was going to cost them a lot of money to rehabilitate people who had been brutalised by such a heinous system and they were not willing to spend a dime of their money to pay for this rehabilitation programme, they decided instead to come up with an ingenious plan, - the gradual elimination of the black population - but you see because america prides itself in being a champion of human rights they couldnt come out openly to do this - because that would mean that they were no better than the Nazis, so instead they chose to cloak their plans in lies and falsity and this is where this organisation came into play, please dont take my word for it do your research on Planned Parenthood and its origins and you will find out that what i am saying is true. |
AjanleKoko:thanks bros, yeah you're right our people marvel when they go to europe or america forgetting that someone somewhere paid a price for those so called acheivements. If you go to belgium you will find that its a very beautiful country, many of its towns are well developed with beautiful infrastructure, but the wealth of belgium was built on the genocide of the congolese people, former King Leopold of beligum annexed what is now known as the DR Congo and drained off the entire revenue generated from rubber and diverted it into belgium's public coffers -(i wont even go into the reign of terror he unleashed on the congolese people - its too depressing) that is how belgium was able to compete with other european countries, and that is the source of belgium's ill gotten wealth. you know our only hope as a race is to build a black nation that will serve our political and economic needs, Nigeria is still the last hope for the black race because we have the manpower, the skills and i beleive if we can refocus and disengage from western influence the determination to make it happen. It is impossible for blacks to ever achieve equality in a foreign land like europe or america - look at the african americans, despite years of struggle they are still fighting a system which will never recognise them as equals. |
tensor777:thanks tensor i just needed to straigten out kabukabu's muddled mindset!!!! everything i have said can be checked up - research all the points i have raised and you will see that they are definitely not conspiracy theories. |
kabukabu50:kabukabu I know they say opinions are like as.sholes ie everyone has one but it continues to amaze me when i hear people dismiss perfectly rational arguments as CONSPIRACY THEORIES. I would really appreciate it if you could at least show some courage and rebut some of the arguments that i made. You see the problem with nigerians like you who find themselves in a country like america is that you have been seduced by the bright lights, the fast cars and the materialism. You sound like someone who never imagined they would ever leave the shores of nigeria and being in america is now a dream come true for you. You look around and see so much affluence and you crave it like a junkie craves crack cocaine. In your blind pursuit of materialism you do not stop to try and understand the society that you live in and how it came to be the way it is. To be honest i dont blame you, poverty has a way of destroying a person's ability to think rationally. But im afraid im going to have to burst your little bubble and wake you up to reality - the american dream is a ploy created by the white elite of america which is designed to trick people into working harder and longer in order to attain something that they will probably never acheive ie riches beyond their imagination. This dream was actually designed for whites because the american nation was founded on the doctrine of white supremacy, america exists today because it wiped out the native population of america , used the labour of enslaved africans to build and develop its economy , annexed neighbouring land and now appropriates the wealth of weaker nations using its various multinational organisations in order to further enrich itself. america as a nation was founded by and for the descendants of northern (and later southern) european settlers , at no point in america's history were blacks ever regarded as being full fledged citizens of american society, indeed Abraham Lincoln referred to african american slaves as "an alien race" which has no real place in our nation - go and look it up - these are his words not mine. You have to ask yourself why african americans to date are still fighting for equality in a nation that was built on the sweat and blood of their ancestors. The truth is that they were not regarded as part of american society, now that is the rule with regard to blacks in america, however there are exceptions to the rule and as i said in my earlier post those exceptions apply mainly to blacks who excel in the fields of sports and entertainment, blacks who MANAGE TO climb the socio economic ladder outside these areas are mainly TOKENS who have been placed there by whites for a reason which is usually beneficial to the white person and not to the black person. Like i said earlier succesful blacks in america are USUALLY ENTERTAINERS not doctors, lawyers, scientists, researchers, writers or physicists, ENTERTAINERS - surely that should tell you something is not right with a society which only recognises the talent of a black person only when they are providing entertainment. This is not to say that you do not FIND blacks in the other fields - of course you do but how many of them are given the prominence, recognition and respect that BLACK ENTERTAINERS are given? All the successful african american celebrities are who they are today because they have agreed to compromise their black identity and in some cases their dignity - Will Smith , Jada Pinkett , Eddie Murphy , Halle Berry , Morgan Freeman you see to be successful as a black person in hollywood you have to play the game - the game is set up by the hollywood machine which is run by rich jews - if you want to be rich , you have to forget about your dignity, forget about your race and even in some cases forget about your family in order to fit in. Because many blacks come from extreme poverty they think like you and they compromise everything about themselves until the whites throw them onto the scrap heap when they are no longer useful (Michael Jackson). perhaps none of this is getting through to you but if you take off those rose tinted glasses that you've been wearing since you arrived in america and start viewing life in america through the lens of reality as opposed to viewing it through a BET lens you will find that what i am telling you is the truth. In response to what you say about Africans being more successful in america than african americans or even whites - i can only laugh at your self delusion - there is a difference between acquiring qualifications and being able to use those qualifications to obtain employment, yes africans particularly nigerians are known for acquiring qualifications but if your prospective employer is a white man who does not want africans working in his establishment what do you do with that qualification.? You have failed to recognise that the whites still own and run the system, he who pays the piper dictates the tune. Asians unlike africans understand that you cant become successful if you have to go to someone to ask them for a job and that is why many of them set up their own businesses, how many blacks in america own and control substantial businesses in america which employ their own people ? |
The white elite in america ie the rockefellers(standard oil) mellons, jp morgans, fords, du ponts, warburgs we are talking the billionaires, not millionaires but billionaires ie the people who constitute 1% of the population but own approximately 60% of all corporate stock and business assets and close to 90% of all tax free bonds (net assets) ie the plutocrats are the real owners of america much of their wealth is inherited, their ancestors were merchants, slave owners and even armed robbers - THEY are the ones who beleive (quite rightly) that america is blessed because they are living the kind of life that many of us can only dream about. These people have been running america since the 1700's and that is the way it will remain until the ordinary americans wake up and realise that they are nothing more than wage slaves working to keep the abovementioned people in the lifestyle that they have become accustomed to. Many nigerians do not understand that america is a staunch capitalist system whose foundation is based on the generation of profit at any cost, there are checks and balances that have been built in to the american capitalist system that PREVENT certain people from ever climbing up the socio economic ladder. Consider this conundrum - in order for the wealthy in america to continue to remain rich they NEED to ensure that there are people within society that REMAIN POOR. The poor in american society serve as a never ending pool of cheap easily available labour, there is a limit to how far you can go in america and indeed the west in terms of wealth creation - the system has been rigged to prevent certain people from ever moving above the class they were born into. There is nothing you can do to change that - sit back and enjoy the life of a western wage slave beholden to the 1% who own the bulk of america's wealth. |
Why is america so blessed? That's actually an interesting question and i think the answer depends on which side of the fence you happen to find yourself on if you live in america - by "fence" i mean racial divide. if you are white educated and affluent - you are very likely to think america is a blessed country, however if you are black and conscious ie understand the history of black struggle against oppression in america then you may probably think otherwise. America is a nation which was established by slave owners, merchants and pirates, the main objective of these so called founding fathers was to break away from british control so that they could control their own political and economic destiny and to ensure that they, the elite or founding fathers would continue to maximise their wealth at the expense of the majority. This is where race came into the equation - the founding fathers (white elite) in their determination to consolidate their positions of power in american society knew that the only way to stay at the top and stay rich was by dividing the people - this why they introduced the racial pyramid of power, those at the top are usually (but not always) white and those at the bottom are usually black or any other non white minority. In creating a racial pyramid of power the white elite's position in american society would never be threatened because ordinary whites would look at blacks and feel that they were superior because they had not been condemned to a lower social hierarchy in society, this in turn would weaken or even prevent any chance of both races ever uniting to overthrow a tyranical white elite power structure. Again to go back to the question - if you are white in america -the sky is the limit, as long as you show a willingness to work. You don't necessarily have to be educated as your boss at work is likely to encourage you to further your education or recommend you for promotion, if you are black, it is a different story, despite showing a desire or even an ability to learn and work hard you will face discouragment and obstacles at every turn, why? because the american system was not established for the benefit of blacks, remember their so called constitution did not regard anyone of african ancestry as an american citizen but as property or chattel . This is why african americans have spent the better part of 200 years fighting for equality in a country that does not recognise them as full fledged citizens. America is therefore the land of opportunity as long as you are white, every one else can just get to the back of the queue and if there are any scraps left over a non white (black) person may just get a look in. Let me just qualify the above by saying that there is one exception and this is in the field of entertainment and sports where blacks dominate but only because blacks bring in so much money that they are regarded as cash cows by their white owners who realise that applying racial discrimination in such fields will lead to massive financial losses for themselves and their shareholders, hence the exception. |
tensor777:yeah I actually like Louis i think he has a negative agenda but his journalistic style is understated, self deprecating and humorous. The BBC tend to recruit mainly oxbridge alumni. A large proportion of BBC newscasters, reporters and other journalists were educated at private secondary schools and went to oxbridge (including the black and asian employees). I think the area boys are victims of a harsh and brutal society that has no safety net for the poor, the people i blame are the likes of Fashola and other big wigs who use these boys to terrorise and intimidate ordinary lagosians who are just trying to make a living. |
I actually think Louis Theroux is an effective journalist as he always seems to be able to disarm his interviewees and get them to let their guard down . That's the mark of a very skilled journalist, i must however salute mamoc for being highly skilled at giving very evasive and ambiguous responses to almost all of Louis questions: Louis: one thing i understand about MC is that he's involved with youths, some people call them area boys, this term area boys has an association with hoodlums, hooligans Mamoc: area boys does not mean hooligans, it means boys in an area!!!! priceless - you couldnt make it up!!! On a serious note though, Louis is an experienced journalist - l laughed when i read someone describing him as a trainee, he's actually been in the game for a long time, he comes from an upper middle class background, went to oxford and is part of the british establishment or elite, so he's no fool, for those of you who think this was just some innocuous inconsequential interview, think again, Louis Theroux represents white middle class britain. |
debosky:No they didnt but the agberos and area boys are symptoms of a much bigger problem - if nigeria's wealth were more evenly distributed, there would be less of them around. The UK and america have their own area boys you know - gangs and street thugs and this is despite having a social welfare system in place. Wherever you find inequality and poverty you will find these sort of people. Wow! So this is BBC’s fault right? Not the leaders who let things disintegrate? Not docile Nigerians/black people who refuse to take things into their own hands? Oh yeah, blame the media. The BBC are not known for their objective or balanced programming, go and research the BBCS's programming on black people or black countries and you will usually find black people being characterised in the following ways: helpless victims who need good old whitey's help and support violent depraved animals who are still primordial and unevolved corrupt morally and intellectually lack intelligence and the ability to help themselves And just what are WE as a people doing to change that opinion? Why aren’t we doing our own ‘positive propaganda’?I think it is wishfull thinking to expect a nation of 150 million people who are still saddled with the yoke of a corrupt and brutal leadership to somehow make out time to go on a propaganda offensive to counter the negative propaganda onslaught from the west, there is such a thing as getting your priorities in order you know. Newsflash - it was directed at letting NON-NIGERIANS know about how things are run in Lagos. . . .if it didn’t’ tell YOU anything new, it did for many others. Besides, there is a limit to what can be achieved in any documentary.im glad to hear it, now how has that helped us? Im sure loads of NON NIGERIANS will be fighting to buy tickets to come visit lagos after this documentary. Good question - this is why Louis asked a number of times, ‘who are the godfathers involved?’ and didn’t get much of an answer from the head of KAI.I was not happy with the head of KAI's response either however, i can imagine that he was frightened of reprisals from those higher up, when you live in a police state like nigeria you have to watch what you say on camera, perhaps if he had been interviewed off camera he would have given a different response. Erm. . . . it was a documentary to give insight into the way things are run in Lagos, I didn’t hear Louis say he was trying to ‘deal’ with the problem. He is simply reporting what he sees.Information is desiminated for a purpose, it costs money to hire camera crews and despatch them around the world - i can assure you that the BBC would not invest so much money in a documentary of this nature just because they had some spare cash lying around, documentaries like these are used to inform or in this case misinform people about whats going on in different parts of the world. In this instance this was another attempt by BBC executives to further damage the image of nigerians and demonstrate to the world that we are a nation incapable of self governance. In portraying this negative image of us to the world it destroys our ability to command respect in the eyes of other blacks (as well as members of other races) in the diaspora. Nigeria remains the last threat to the white race due to our oil reserves , manpower and vast population, in order to counter any potential challenge from us we are being discredited to the world. You are totally oblivious to the power of the western media hence your indifference, one day it will all become clear to you. |
Once again the BBC does yet another hatchet job on lagos nigeria, why? because the white supremacist programming executives at the BBC find it almost impossible to let a day go by without airing a programme which demeans, humiliates or damages the image of blacks and particularly black run nations. Some people may think that all this negative programming about us is harmless but ask yourself this question- why is it that wherever you go in the world you are automatically treated as an inferior before you even open your mouth? Surely it must have something to do with the way in which the western media portrays members of the black race. Isnt it such a coincidence that other races automatically assume that we are backward, chaotic, corrupt and violent even before we open our mouths. Isnt it equally coincidental that members of other races assume we lack intelligence until we prove otherwise, why is that? Black people are the only race of people who can be guaranteed bad treatement wherever we go in the world, be it america, europe or the far east our so called reputation speaks volumes, and this reputation has been carefully and craftilty created by the white supremacist media in such a way that even our own people cannot see that it has been done in order to undermine us. It is not today that this negative propaganda started - african americans have been denigrated and caricatured for over 200 years by the american media. Louis tried this same stunt with the black panthers in america and they put him in his place, but sadly there are some apologists on here making excuses for him. The way the BBC take delight in bashing nigeria one would think that their own country is a paradise, but the English constitute the greatest number of emigres the world over. Yesterday's documentary though revealing and equally depressing, does not tell us anything we did not know before, yes area boys are running an extortion racket in collaboration with the state government appartus but the wider question should be who is allowing this to happen and why. If the root causes of this problem were tackled you wouldnt have thugs and hooligans holding an entire city to ransom in this way. Why doesnt Louis and his crew start from the top in order to get to the root of the problem, perhaps next time he could try interviewing the architects of all this corruption eg the nigerian elite, an interview with Fashola wouldnt have gone amiss. There's no point starting at the bottom of the food chain ie the NURTW and area boys, start at the root of the corrupt system and then you may begin to come up with ways in which to deal with the problem. |
martinosi:martinosi thanks for posting that link which im listening to right now, its very informative, if you can, try and read Manufacturing Consent by Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky - it highlights the fact that the western corporate media are profit-driven institutions, whose main objective is to serve and further the agendas of the interests of dominant, elite groups in society, it will open your eyes to who is controlling the world and why, dont miss it, its a very important book. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manufacturing_Consent:_The_Political_Economy_of_the_Mass_Media |
It all started on my ability to let you know that the media is a propaganda tool and your stubborness is really blocking your ability to learn.I still repeat it that you no nothing about how things work in the circle of nations.
Bluetooth there is no point in trying to reason with a blockhead, here you have someone who is eternally grateful for being given the chance to live within close proximity to whites, so grateful that even when those same whites abuse and disrespect her people all in the name of a documentary she fails to see anything wrong with it, this is the mark of someone who has been totally indoctrinated into full blown hatred of self. Waste not your breath on people like this as they are beyond redemption. |
Kobojunkie:is there anything you don't ROFLYAO about or is that your own way of covering up your ignorance?or is life too complex for you to get to grips with that in order to cope you just ROFLYAO ![]()

|
Kobojunkie:Fine, keep making a fool of yourself, if you want to keep looking like the prize id.iot who am i to argue with you. something tells me that you're one of those nigerians who just go to work and come home eat, sleep and go to work again, try and learn more about your immediate environment, i dont live in the US and i know more about the country than you ever will. |
Kobojunkie:Woah!!! don't have a nervous breakdown girl!!! when you finish ROFLYAO try and sign up with a library and do some research on propaganda and the role of the western media - I hope it helps you because i think its embarrassing for a person who lives in a country as advanced as the US to be reasoning in the way that you do. |
Kobojunkie i would advise you to go and read a book called Propaganda by a man called Edward Bernays (an american) in his book he argues that the manipulation of public opinion is a necessary part of democracy: Here is what he says: The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. , We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. , In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons, who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind. This man is known as the modern day founder of public relations in the western world. His view was that the masses are too dumb and irrational to make their own decisions and therefore it is the duty of THE ELITE TO SHAPE THE MINDSET OF THE MAN ON THE STREET. Is this getting through to you? Do you now understand that a small elite group condition and influence the mindset of the masses in the western world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays |
Kobojunkie:When are you going to wake up and understand what time it is BBC, CNN, fox news according to you thrive on providing news - You are in a dream world. the western media is the most powerful weapon of manipulation that has ever been invented, if you for one minute think that the above news corporations are interested in relaying news then you need to be in therapy. have you heard of the word INDOCTRINATION? well its what the western media has used for over 60 years to condition the minds of its people, indoctrination by way of the media is the reason why a white person will look down on a black person without knowing anything about them, why?? because when they are fed a distorted and false image of africa day in day out that becomes the accepted truth to them and that is the agenda of the western media - to portray themselves as superhuman gods and to portray blacks as helpless, primitive and backward. This is why they will never show anything about nigeria that is positive. If nigeria is as deadly and dangerous as they claim why has one of their biggest oil companies continued to do business with nigeria for the past 50 years? there are plenty of white men working for oil companies or doing business in nigeria and they would rather die than leave nigeria to go back to the daily grind of life in europe, how do i know, because i have spoken to many of them and that is exactly what they told me. I dont know how you survive in the US, you must walk around with blinkers on. |
bidemi12:You live in america dont you, ever heard of the mafia? Are you aware that at one point they were so powerful they even had links all the way up to the white house, they had police officers, judges, senators and union officials on their payroll . Are you aware that they even controlled entire states (Nevada) at one point in their history? My point is corruption is entrenched in every society in the world, however as you correctly pointed out it is more blatant in some societies than it is in others. Nigerians attitude to corruption is borne out of a complete breakdown of the society, there is no attempt by the people at the top to even pretend to abide by the laws of the land and therefore that has a trickle down effect which the populace see and imitate. If nigeria provided the basics - housing, food, employment etc for its people our attitude to corruption would be very different. In a nutshell it is poverty which makes nigerians turn a blind eye to corruption. |
Kobojunkie:NEWSFLASH!!!!BRIBERY EXISTS EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD - Mohammed Al Fayed (owner of Harrods) can tell you more about how he used to bribe british MP's to table questions before parliament. In exchange for doing so he was given inside information on govt policy and impending legislation which might adversely affect his business. He rewarded these corrupt MP's with massive brown envelopes filled with cash - some were even allowed to stay at his hotel in paris (The Ritz) free of charge where they ran up bills worth thousands of pounds - is that not bribery and is it not illegal? but it went on in this country which is now trying to claim the moral high ground . Lets face it when it comes to bribery britain and america are the kings, have you heard about the Haliburton scandal - are you aware that Haliburton were offernig bribes of up to $180 million to Obasanjo and his cronies in exchange for oil and gas contracts, who owns Haliburton? Is it not former US vice president Dick Cheney? The Ghettos of London remain 100 times better than many of the posh areas in Lagos. I am not certain how making a movie of "London ghettos" which are mostly filled with people who continue to make bad life choices thinking the system owes them, will work against this video or the BBC.The ghettoes of london - let me see, the council estates of peckham, hackney, brixton, tottenham, harlesden are better than the affluent parts of victoria island, ikoyi, lekki - is that so? why then do most of the european expatriates insist on living in VI, Ikoyi and all the other affluent neighbourhoods whenever they relocate to nigeria? I can't imagine any white person leaving europe or america to come to live in an area worse than the most impoverished neighbourhoods in their respective countries. I certainly hope we are not here intending to compare the condition of life for many of those in London ghettos(many of whom can easily move out but continue to think the system owes them) to the condition of living for HARDWORKING and DECENT Nigerians who find they cannot make enough to get out of those gutters/ghettos in Nigeria. That, in my opinion, will be a great injustice by all stretch.i dont think you understand anything about the underclass in the western world hence the statement you made above, there are some people who live in ghettos who are hardworking people and who want a better life but are caught in a trap caused by many factors - poor education, racism, single parenthood, high unemployment - all these things can conspire to make it almost impossible for people living in poor areas to climb further up the socio economic ladder - many nigerians live in poor neighbourhoods in the UK and it is not because according to you "they think the system owes them" but because the odds are stacked hopelessly against them. |
bidemi12:this is why i dont bother having discussions with people like you, if you want to continue to shut your ears to the truth, thats your prerogative, what is it about my earlier response that you dont understand? itemized?? i have listed above JUST A FEW of the lies and half truths that are perpetuated by the western media and you are still asking me what they are. |
bidemi12:when was the last time you turned on the tv and saw anything positive aired in the western media about africa? when they tell you africa is run by corrupt murderous dictators do they tell you that they are the ones who finance the coup d'etats that install these people, the likes of Mobutu Seseko of Zaire, IBB of nigeria, OBJ of nigeria Idi Amin of Uganda to name a few who do you think assisted them into office? When they tell you our economies are basket cases they forget to mention how they collude with these same dictators to devalue our currencies , sell off our public services so that their foreign companies can come in and buy them up for next to nothing, dictate to us how much we should sell our oil to them, impose so called structural adjustment programmes which stipulate that our govts shoudl cut spending on education, health care etc Are you aware that it was during Buhari's tenure in office that our debt was almost paid off and it was because of this very reason that he was overthrown by way of a coup d'etat and replaced with IBB who implemented IMF and world bank SAP programmes. |
kabukabu50:you are obviously suffering from an acute form of self hatred, who told you parts of the west are not in total chaos, try walking on the streets of toxteth in liverpool or hackney in london and see the type of characters you will see on those streets. Without even watching this so called documentary i already know that it is going to be nothing but an exaggeration of the true situation on the ground. Havent you heard of the word propaganda? Distortions, lies, ommissions and half truths is what passes for news in the western media, so before you condemn your own people open your eyes and try and understand the hidden agenda here. The white man is not our friend, when someone is not your friend he goes all out to discredit you, that is how the game is played. |
this louis theroux guy is one of the most condescending individuals i have ever come across on tv, he gives the impression that he really cares about his subject but its all a cover, he chooses what he feels are easy targets and tries to make them look bad by asking seemingly innocuous questions, but it backfired against him when he met and interviewed former black panther leader the late Dr Khalid Muhammed who went toe to toe with him and made him look stupid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV0xoeoQz2A&feature=related He should butt out of our business and focus on his own country , why hasnt he gone to wastelands like sheffield, toxteth, newcastle and so many other dumps in england that are overflowing with drugs, teenage mothers, prostitution, gangs and generations of families who have never worked for a day in their lives. why is he not documenting that? |
faithin9ja:Well thats not entirely true, in so called civilised countries you can have a different ideology from the status quo provided nobody is listening to what you have to say, the minute people start to listen to what you say and stop listening to the status quo you become an enemy of the state and you are removed from the system: read about COINTELPRO a US govt run organisation which was set up by the FBI to crush all black militant organisations in the US. there's nothing wrong with running a business and employing people, when i talk about capitalism im not talking about small businesses im talking about giant corporations that wield more power than govts like Shell and Exxon Mobil - they are the types of businesses that create poverty and inequality in society with their exploitative practices. but remember this thread was on the efficacy of violence. I reiterate my fear that your views on violence are very similar to the views expressed by Stalin and Mao TesTung which killed millions and both Russia and China now have serious capitalist tendencies if not democratic government, I am trying to discourage you from thinking that only violence can solve Nigeria's problems. My views on violence are the same views espoused by almost all modern nations today, you forgot to add the US and Britain to your list. I wish there could be an alternative to violent revolution but i cant see the current nigerian gangsters in office peacefully deciding to hand over power to a new crop of leaders, without a fight, can you? I for one I am hoping for the day western companies come to Nigeria and bring FDI in areas other than oil and gas. I want unilever to open factories and shops, I want Taiwan & Korean factories to open factories in Nigeria, I want General Motors to open factories and showrooms in Nigeria. But with the current bunch of corrupt, blind politicians we have , the anti investment culture in the this country, this is not going to happen for a long time.Instead of wishing for all of these foreign investors to come in and exploit our cheap labour, you should be wishing that we develop our own factories and become a self sufficient industrialised nation. We have the manpower and the skills to produce our own goods for export, why would you want us to go down the route of even more economic dependency? For the record the first and second world wars were not fought between left and right, but much more complex than that, I suggest you read your history.I didnt say the first and second world wars were fought between left and right i merely referred to them to demonstrate that the so called civilised world will go to war in order to fight for a cause - in the case of the second world war it was all about acquiring power and territory. |
