Pifa:
It is wrong to blame Africa’s retarded development on “western capitalist system” or creation of western puppets as Africa’s rulers. No Western power has created a puppet in Nigeria on whom you can blame Nigeria’s inability to become self-sufficient in refined petroleum despite Nigeria’s leadership in crude oil production. Neither is the Western capitalist system responsible for Nigeria’s inability to see beyond oil as the driver of the nation’s economy.

The Nigerian legislature recently rejected the fiscal 2010 budget proposal by YarAdua’s administration because it focused almost exclusively on crude oil development. Can you blame YarAdua’s lack of vision on Western collusion to stymie development in Nigeria?

Is Western collusion responsible for Nigeria’s electricity problems? Certainly, the Western capitalist system was not responsible for Dunlop and Michelin decamping to Ghana because of Nigeria’s power problems and public safety concerns.

When will Africans stop blaming the West and start looking inward for solutions to Africa’s problems?

There is a popular maxim that goes like this: “We have met the enemy and he is us.”

*************************

Btw, Nigeria does not need a charismatic leader. Nigeria needs a visionary leader, who can lead by example and uphold the law. The Chavez you admire you much was the same Chavez who tried to con the Venezuela people into making him president for life. They shot him down, of course, but some role model you've picked as example for Nigeria's future leadership.
@pifa it is not wrong for me to blame the western capitalist system for the economic backwardness of africa and in particular nigeria.

first of all what is western capitalism? its an economic system whereby the means of production (factories, plants, machinery)are used to harness labour in order to produce goods and services FOR PROFIT - the whole objective of this system is to make profit by the owners of production and in order for profits to be made there has to be EXPLOITATION of the labour supply.

lets start with the very first western capitalist economic system introduced into africa by the west - slavery - this was based on the kidnapping of human beings, the transportation of these human beings across the atlantic to the americas and the carribean, who then cultivated cash crops such as sugar, coffee and cotton which was then shipped to europe for conversion or manufacture into finished products which were then sold to africans in exchange for african slave labour all over again. this was the original template for western capitalism and it has since been updated into what we have today but this time instead of the appropriatioin of african human slave labour you have the appropriation of african natural resources.

capitalism is built on the whole notion of maximisation of profits , thats why, whites were able to overcome the moral dilemma of using human slave labour becaue the overriding objective was to make PROFIT, it didnt matter that the consequences of this was genocide, mass displacement and eradication of cultures it was the end that justified the means.

now fast forward to the early part of the 20th century - slavery has now been abolished by the british because their monopoly over it was being threatened by the french. the european powers now realising how valuable africa is due to its vast natural resources conspire amongst themselves to appropriate the entire continent and divide it up amongst themselves - this is now phase 2 - colonialism - the british conquer northern and southern nigeria and make them "british protectorates" they subsequently continue with their plunder - what do indigenous nigerians do - they try to resist and are viciously crushed by the british who are militarily superior to the indigenous people. agitations for independence continue and the british decide to hand over power to an appointed elite dominated by the hausa fulani oligarchy - these people are the gate keepers of the old colonial order and they are permitted to retain power on the condition that they implement economic systems which favour western financial interests. therefore any african leader who tries to introduce economic left leaning socialist economic systems such as nationalisation programmes, increased public spending, formation of workers unions, introduction of minimum wage etc are overthrown and replaced with controllable puppets.

ive just summarised this in a nutshell but basically nigeria is to date working in accordance with this model - western capitalist systems thrive in countries where human rights and democratic systems are non existent because these sort of environments ensure that multinational corporations such as shell bp, exxon mobil, cocacola etc can exploit the indigenous people by making them work for a pittance thereby ensuring that these multinationals make huge profits, multinationals are attracted to environments where there are no labour unions, no minimum wage safety nets for workers, human rights abuse goes unchecked and where corruption is rife. the US has outsourced almost all of its manufacturing sector to countries where labour is cheap and repressive govts keep the masses in line eg thailand, indonesia, pakistan, haiti and nigeria.

with nigeria you have multinationals such as shell bp, exxon mobil and chevron reaping huge profits from the petroleum industry without having to bear the burden of carrying out any meaningful economic development in any of the oil producign areas whilst also causing massive environmental devastation.

obviously none of this would happen without the collusion of the nigerian elite but you must understand that this is a joint effort, with countries like britain, US and Israel ensuring that this repression carries on unchecked. last year gordon brown pledged to increase arms exports to nigeria in order to get rid of militant groups such as MEND - why are they hell bent on supporting such a repressive regime? could it be because they have a vested interest in keeping the nigerian masses oppressed?

i think your comments about chavez are totally misguided - first of all Chavez is responsible for getting rid of a group of elitist stooges not unlike the ones we have in nigeria who were responsible for condemning the vast majority of people in their country to a life of poverty, for the first time in over 50 years the average venezuelan now has acces to free education at all levels, health care and employment something virtually unheard of during the previous US backed regime.

also Chavez unlike the majority of nigerian leaders swept to power as the people's choice following democratic elections, he recently won a national referendum in his country allowing him to run for a third six year term and beyond - this was all don in accordance with the people's mandate so i dont know where you are getting your information about him trying to perpetuate himself in power as a life president. Unlike nigerian so called presidents he has not forced himself on the people by way of illegal coup detats usually orchestrated by western govts.

please get your facts and arguments right - the important issue here is not whether or not the person is remaining in office as a life president but whether or not he is the people's choice. Fidel Castro has been in power in Cuba since 1959 but he is regarded as a hero to his people for driving out a corrupt puppet govt which was being run in collaboration with the american mafia where prostitution, gambling and drug trafficking almost destroyed the country, today in Cuba everyone has benefitted from free education at all levels and access to health care.

i think the mainstream western media is engaged in spreading a lot of fake information about this so called terrorist attack.

my take on this is that this is a fake terrorist attack orchestrated and planned by US intelligence, these fake attacks are being orchestrated in order to trick the public into giving up more and more of their civil liberties - the US and Europe are fast moving into a fascist dictatorship - anyone who thinks Obama is not privy to any of this is either insane or completely ignorant. this has been planned from day one and all these fake terrorist incidents are being used in order to justify further encroachment into our individual privacy. now we can look forward to body scanners being used on travellers all thanks to this ridiculous fake terrorist attack orchestrated by the US intelligence aka the CIA. there is more to come folks hold onto your seats as we all get ready to enter into the dark age of worldwide fascist dictatorship not unlike Hitler's Nazi germany!!!
Politics › Re: Evidence Mounts For U.s.,israeli Complicity In Mutallabs Terrorism by cap28: 10:56pm On Jan 02, 2010
i think its now becoming quite clear now that this whole episode is totally fraudulent and that mutallab is a stooge working with the US intelligence services.  there is no way that mutallab could have been allowed onto the flight from schipol airport without a passport unless of course airport officials were privy to this whole operation - security in european airports is air tight - they wont even let you get on a plane to the US if you arrive less than one hour before checking in let alone allowing you to get to the departure gates and onto a plane without a passport.

this whole thing has been orchestrated by the US and UK govts yet again in order to enable both govts pass through even more draconian laws designed to take away more freedoms from US and european citizens - notice how the discussion has moved very quickly onto talking about the introduction of full body scanners and further intrusion into people's privacy.

emperor olu dont bother with dede1.

i  think dede1s negative response is  a reflection of why we  remain so backward, instead of focusing on how to move forward as an entity we spend time splitting hairs over boundary disputes which are irrelevant when you consider the bigger picture.  this is why it is so easy for western powers to prey on us, once a people are divided it is easier to control them.

what dede1 fails  to understand is that these so called boundaries are artifical as they were drawn up for the political and economic expediency of colonial powers.

take the bakassi peninsular - it was originally part of the obong of calabar's kingdom, but wasnt the obong of calabar tricked into handing it over to the british  as a "protectorate" in 1894 (an indirect way for whites to steal land from unsuspecting africans).  bakassi was subsequently converted from a "protectorate" into part of the british colonial territory and then handed over to germany and then france in flagrant disregard of the earlier agreement wiht the obong of calabar, today bakassi is now part of cameroon a former french colony.  does this not tell you that we africans are not even in control over our own boundaries, therefore to start splitting hairs over where a boundary began and ended is to fail to understand that we are merely being used as pawns in a game that is being controlled by the west.
Politics › Re: Nigerians Don't Need Crude Oil by cap28: 4:22pm On Jan 02, 2010
@emperor olu and tippy top - thanks for your comments.

i think nigeria is still capable of producing a charismatic leader with vision like chavez and who has the interest of the common man at heart - i know that murtala mohammed is not the best example to use given that he was involved with the massacre of igbos during the civil war, however he was one of the few post civil war nigerian leaders who tried to steer nigeria away from economic policies which benefitted western powers and he paid for that with his life.  he tried to introduce various nationalisation reform programmes which were swiftly brought to an end and reversed following his assassination.

if you look at what chavez is going through now you will understand that the task of wresting control from western powers  is not easy, chavez to date has had numerous assassination attempts made on his life  by the CIA because of his nationalisation programmes which have reversed various trade agreements beneficial to the US.

in my view the western capitalist system is a form of modern day slavery with africa as a designated place where the west obtains cheap natural resources at the expense of the indigenous people in order to develop and enrich their own economies.  african nations cannot develop until they get rid of their corrupt puppets who are being controlled by corrupt western govts. this is easier said than done as all repressive african govts are trained and armed by western govts.  now the US is gearing up for any future showdown with militant groups like MEND by deploying their troops (AFRICOM) to so called troubled spots in order to "secure" oil wells and other places where valuable natural resource are located.
Politics › Re: Nigerians Don't Need Crude Oil by cap28: 2:13pm On Jan 02, 2010
@emperor olu - the problem is not so much that nigeria has refused to diversify and venture into other areas of economic development the real problem is the type of leadership that we have, lets take a look at venezuela it is currently the only country that im aware of in the world at the moment which is using its oil revenue for the benefit and upliftment of the ordinary man in the street and not for the benefit of corrupt multinationals and members of its elite.

chavez has carried out massive economic reforms starting with the nationalisation of the petroleum industry - he has kicked out predatory american petroleum companies like chevron and exxon mobil who were doing to venezuela what they are currently doing to nigeria and he has replaced them with government owned entities, in addition he has nationalised the telecommunications and electricity industries thereby taking back economic control of his country from the hands of foreign predators.

the oil we have is not a curse - it is a god given natural resource which could have been used to develop the country and propel it into being a major player on the international arena.  you mentioned botswana - botswana gained its independence around the same time nigeria did but the revenue generated from diamond production has been used mainly for the economic development of the country and not for the personal enrichment of corrupt leaders working in collusion with foreign predators.

the current leadership that we have are a puppet leadership who were groomed by their former colonial masters, they have no independent voice or vision for the country and work according to a mandate handed to them by their masters.  the minute they step out of line they are either killed or overthrown - this is nothing new - even western countries operate a similar system the only difference is that they do not condemn the masses of their country to a life of grinding poverty and suffering the way the african puppets do to their own people.

therefore the first step is to get the leadership right - if you get the leadership right - you then start to focus on reversing systems that have been put in place by foreign predators to destroy and not develop our economies as is the case with nigeria.

@emperor olu you are absolutely correct - reading through these pathetic "condolence" messages that these sycophants are writing is enough to make you want to renounce your nigerian citizenship, there is no group of people in the world that would have allowed demonic babangida and his wife to have gone scot free after embezzling billions of dollars worth of nigeria's oil revenue - in other countries where you have human beings whose brains are functioning this criminal pair would have been facing either life imprisonment or the firing squad, but look at brain dead individuals posting stupid messages talking about "may her soul rest in peace" - after condemning nigerians to a life of misery and suffering, im only praying and hoping that satanic husband of hers pays dearly for the blood of all the innocent people that he shed.

Is there anybody today practicing Jim Crow, Segregation etc? Why keep whining abut straw men and skipping the main reason why we are a backwards set of people

ITS OUR FAULT. COMPLETELY OUR FAULT.

We better learn from Asians who overcame foreign meddling and are leading the world today. Its sad that countries like Vietnam are far ahead of us now. Dont start me with Malaysia, Singapore etc

The day the average African country becomes like  shocked shockedVietnam shocked shocked is the day everybody will stop insulting us. Till then,
@ sage - he who has the military might rules the world - why do you think the romans were so powerful

you dismiss africans as being incapable of great things as if it was not our ancestors who built the pyramids of what is now known as egypt and founded civilisations which were far more developed and advanced than that of the greeks or romans - this is a sign of extreme brain washing and reprogramming.

any group of people can be coerced into fighting each other - all it takes is years of brainwashing and reprogramming which is what the entire african continent has been subjected to through religion and the white man's so called education.  you write as if whites have never been involved in inter ethnic clashes - they fought two major world wars all because of power.  why did hitler invade poland, czechoslovakia, norway, finland, france, belgium and even part of russia -

you are wrong to focus solely on the enslavement of africans by their fellow africans  - didnt hitler enslave jews, gypsies,  and poles  in auschwitz and dachau, was it not nazis who carried out experiments on human beings while still conscious in their concentration camps - go and google dr mengele aka as dr death and see what he did to jewish women, children and the "mentally retarded" people in his "hospitals".  Go and read about the nazis eugenics programme  where their plan was to create a master race of "aryan people" who would rule the world for 1,000 years.

fast forward to the 21st century slavery and oppression of blacks  is alive and kicking in the whole of western europe and the americas and carribean -  blacks in america are still disproportionately worse off than their white counterparts  in terms of education, housing, access to  health care, jobs etc.  400 years of slavery, jim crow and covert institutionalised racism has resulted in huge inequality between blacks and whites in north and south america all sanctioned and enforced by a racist white majority govt.

you seem to be unaware of the fact that vietnam are where they are today because of military support that they received from russia and china during the war they fought with the US.  are you seriously trying to tell me that the vietnamese could have defeated the US without soviet funding, arms and training - vietnam's subsequent survival and reconstruction was due to various treaties that they entered into with China and USSR enabling them to rebuild their economies and also protect them from further external aggression - in the 80's the soviet union was Vietnam's largest donor of military and economic aid.

i am more than happy to discuss this topic on another thread

Our problem is fully internal. Others exploit you as much as you let yourself to be exploited

And you seem to have imbibed an anti-white sentiment. That kind of sentiment is not going to help African nations develop. Its pointless and useless. The world has never been kind to weak and docile people. History shows us that any set of weak people are usually dealt with very decisively if they do not catch up with the rest of the world. Arabs and Europeans have dealt with us and the asians might next if we dont wake up.

South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore even the China that calls the shots in the world today and Japan experienced colonial or foreign oppression.

Switzerland, Norway, Finland etc and a lot of Western countries developed without the help of Slave Labor or colonies. (This slave labour argument is very weak considering that the biggest slave traders like Spain and Portugal are among the least developed Western European countries when compared to countries like Norway, Finland, Iceland and Germany who had very little to do with slave labour)

Go and read up how colonialists wanted to wipe the Chinese out. How many times do you see them complain today about the suppression they went through? How many times do Malaysians blame colonialism?
These people found internal solutions to counter the designs of the west and have taken a leap into the 21st century

WE are only to blame for our current predicament

The fact that countries like Vietnam, I repeat Vietnam is better than 95% of African countries says it all shocked shocked

Africans were the biggest slave traders in history and have not shown any more humanity towards fellow Africans but infact display more inhumanity than the westerners

1. Where in human history have 1,000,000 Africans been killed by foreigners in 100 days in a very small area? (like Hutu & Tutsi)

2. Where in 2008 did 62 Africans get killed as immigrants in western countries by westerners? (aka South Africa 2008)

3. Over 10,000 people have been killed by machetes and cutlasses in Nigeria in the last 9 years. Where in the world has Westerners killed 10,000 Nigerians in the past 9yrs?

Weak minded people look for excuses and are permanent victims. Human history points to the fact that weak and docile people regardless of "race" or color have been exploited, subjugated and in some cases wiped out.

We better borrow a leaf from the Asians who survived attempts to wipe them out as well as colonialism and exploitation and are leading the world today by looking inward rather than blaming people

The answers are internal for Nigeria and the rest of Africa
@sage im afraid you have oversimplified this whole concept of exploitation - you say "others exploit you as much as you let yourself be exploited" that is simply not true - exploitation is about power - whoever has the power ie the military power or might automatically assumes the position of the exploiter - military superiority and exploitation go hand in hand. No african nation has ever been in a position strong enough to oppose the military might of the whites its as simple as that -its not that we chose to be exploited its simply that we were unfortunate to be in a weaker military position. the whites knew that they could not conquer africa by using religion alone this is why ultimately they resorted to using military might which ensured their victory over us.

you say i have imbibed an anti white sentiment - no i am merely referring back to historical events which have caused us as a people to end up where we presently are - as an oppressed people. everything that i have stated is based on actual events that have happened - did i invent the transatlantic slave trade, did i come up with the idea of enslaving african people and working them to death on the plantations of the carribean islands and north and south america, did i enact segregation laws in order to ensure blacks remain as second class citizens in north and south america - no it was the white man, all these things and many more were invented by whites in order to build and develop the capitalist system and perpetuate themselves in a position of power which is currently in place in the whole of western europe, the americas and the carribean.

you say that focusing on all these wrongs done to us is useless and a waste of time - i disagree, in order for a people to correct their mistakes they must understand where they went wrong and that can only be acheived by looking back, again i must refer to the jews - the reason that the state of israel is so powerful today is partly due to the keen sense of nationalism that the jews have and their unwillingness to forget the persecution that they suffered at the hands of the nazis. they know that in this world the only language that an enemy understands is force and this is why they now have nuclear weapons which they will be more than willing to deploy should they face any external threat from neighbouring arab countries.

you talk about switzerland, norway and finland being well developed countries in comparison to nigeria but again this comparison is wrong - almost all european countries which were devastated during the second world war were rebuilt and modernised with US funding under the marshall plan - the aim was for the US to form a military and economic power bloc which would counter any potential threat from Russia. How can you now compare such an entity to a country like nigeria which was and still is being ravaged from all angles by various foreign powers.

yes im aware that the British tried to destroy China by introducing opium to its people but to say that they found internal solutions to counter the problem is a gross exagerration of the truth - they actually went to war with the british and were defeated which led to britain taking hong kong, the Chinese have never forgiven them for that and they fought back and now as permanent members of the united nations security council can veto any decision that goes against the well being of their country.

okay the massacre of tutsis by the hutus - who do you think orchestrated it - much like the massacre of igbos by the hausas in northern nigeria - these two groups(hutus and tutsis) were living in harmony until the early part of the 20th century when the belgians split the country along ethnic lines giving power to the tutsis (the minority) to rule over the hutus (the majority) thereby laying the groundwork for future inter ethnic violence (just like nigeria)

im suprised you had the nerve to talk about 62 black african immigrants being killed in a country like south africa which operated one of the most brutal and racist regimes second only to north america. werent black south africans being tortured, murdered and brutalised on a daily basis under the aparthied regime. is this not the same country which operatated one of the most deadly secret police organisations.

i will tell you where westerners have killed more than 10,000 people in 9 years - iraq - 200 iraqi children die EVERY DAY as a result of US bombings as well as the economic blockade. - source UNICEF

yes to some extent the answers are internal but there has to be a complete overhaul of the mentality of our people - just like there was in china, we are psychologically programmed to look up to the white man and respect him - all of that has to change, self reliance and self beleif must be inculcated and this pandering to western ideology and views has to be completely purged from our thought processes because that is what has caused us to be in the current state that we're in.

@sage i dont know whether you have taken the time out to read your history because if indeed you had you would know that  everything that i  stated above about slavery is based on fact - can you explain to me why recounting historical facts means you are acting like a victim?  when the jews recount endlessly their persecution at the hands of nazi germany does anyone shout them down and say that they are wallowing in self pity and victimhood.  there is no month that goes by that i do not see documentaries about the holocaust on tv or are you saying that blacks have no right to highlight past wrongs that have been done to us.

the fact that you are so quick to dismiss an entire race of people as being weak minded just shows how brain washed by western propaganda you are - arent you aware that africans fought tooth and nail to rid ourselves of these demonic whites who used religion and arms to wipe out our people - please go and read about the clashes that the british had with the bini, igbo and yoruba peoples during the early part of the twentieth century before their satanic lugard formed that illegal contraption they are calling nigeria.

if you think our problem is fully internal you are not living in the real world.  let me wake you up to reality the real rulers of the world are: Britain, the US, China and Russia  - they are calling all the shots, there is currently no country in the world who is not under the control of any of the above countries.  notice what happens to any a country which tries to step out of line (zimbabwe, venezuela, haiti, cuba, iraq, pakistan, afghanistan, iran)

i dont know why you are comparing nigeria to finland and norway - were any of these countries subjected to foreign invasion and appropriation of their natural resources like nigeria?

the fact that you've compared nigeria to japan which benefitted from economic reconstruction after the second world war under a US instituted programme known as the marshall plan just shows your lack of understanding about economic development, besides Japan was and has always been useful as an ally to the US in order to counter any threat from China.

this so called success of western nations as you call it was built solely and completely on the back of black african slave labour  and the appropriation of african natural resources.  go and read about the huge profits that countries like britain, france and spain made from the sugar and coffee plantations in haiti, jamaica, martinique and guadeloupe, or maybe you need to read about how the late king leopold of belgium stole an entire country from under the feet of the congolese people and used the wealth of that country to enrich and develop belgium whilst systematically terrorising and massacring millions of congolese people in the process.

or perhaps maybe you need to read about why the southern slave owners in the southern states of the US were hell bent on ensuring that slavery continued because of the huge profits they were making from the cotton plantations where african slaves laboured from sun up till sun down, to the extent that they (the slave owners) even fought a civil war in order to retain this barbaric but highly profitable system.

while you are busy kow towing in obedience to your masters please remember that these people have only one agenda towards africans and all people of african descent - domination, exploitation and annihilation.

jeez:
i hear the chap was in the toilet for twenty minutes without disturbance. This simply means he could have blown up the plane from the toilet. I suggest that going forward the security authorities should sacrifice privacy and institute some form of security like big brother cameras in the toilet . Nothing is too much to save innocent lives.
yeah he could have blown up the plane while inside the toilet - which begs the question why didnt he?

why did he go back to his seat sit down and in full view of other passengers try to light up what was described as a fire cracker TWENTY MINUTES BEFORE LANDING!!!

jeez i would suggest that you take a look at the US patriot act which was enacted in 2001 immediately after 9/11 which effectively has taken away almost all civil liberties of american citizens and then maybe all of this might start making sense - here is a brief excerpt of what it covers:

The Act increases the ability of law enforcement agencies to search telephone, e-mail communications, medical, financial, and other records; eases restrictions on foreign intelligence gathering within the United States; expands the Secretary of the Treasury’s authority to regulate financial transactions, particularly those involving foreign individuals and entities; and enhances the discretion of law enforcement and immigration authorities in detaining and deporting immigrants suspected of terrorism-related acts. The act also expands the definition of terrorism to include domestic terrorism, thus enlarging the number of activities to which the USA PATRIOT Act’s expanded law enforcement powers can be applied

Actually I wouldn't talk about slavery and Islam. . . . . . Europeans were involved in it for 400 years, Arabs for 1200 years. . .

Plus the amount of people killed in Jihad . . . . . .
well im quite happy to talk about slavery and islam as there is no way you can equate the degradation and dehumanisation of africans at the hands of the whites to the trafficking of black africans by arab slave traders.

i dont recall arabs herding africans into the holds of ships and throwing them into the atlantic ocean en route all in the name of trying to claim insurance payouts.

europeans were involved in it for 400 years but for a reason - first of all they were competing amongst each other for control of the "evil trade" britain was on top but france was threatening their monopoly, so what did britain do - yeah you guessed it they decided to abolish it for being inhumane. but later carried on under a different name colonialism and apartheid - do you see why ghandi said the british could not be trusted in the dark?

but thats not the point  - 400 years was enough to give britain and the US the economic headstart which has propelled them into the current position that they now enjoy. also the threat of slave revolts (read haitian history) meant that holding human beings in bondage was now proving to be a very dangerous exercise which many whites were now loosing their lives over (again read haitian history) also with the coming of the industrial revolution, the whites realised that there were other ways in which people of african ancestry could be enslaved - fast forward to present day institutionalised racism used against blacks in western countries and colonialism and neo colonialism used to reenslave blacks in africa.

what really pisses me off is the fact that the west are able to manipulate the way weak minded people amongst us think by dictating what is and is not terrorism - but the question i would like to ask is who are the architects of terrorism - is it the so called islamic fundamentalists as they would want us to beleive?  was it islamic fundamentalists who transported 100 million people in the holds of ships across the atlantic ocean in order to build what is now, militarily the most powerful country on the planet?

was it islamic fundamentalists who wiped out an entire race of people in north america in the name of "founding a new nation"

how about the genocide and massacre of aboriginal people in australia and new zealand?

are these not acts of terrorism? but it seems when whites commit terrorism against non white people its okay but when non whites do it is a heinous crime.

i am not prepared to beleive that  a young man from a wealthy nigerian family would be willing to sacrifice his own life in the name of islamic fundamentalism for an organisation which it has been established was funded and armed by the US intelligence unless of course he is a  stooge - it simply does not make sense.

nigeria has for quite some time been on the US to do list of countries that it wishes to neutralise (in order to get their hands on the oil reserves) - what better way to do this than to start with false accusations of terrorism - if you people cant see this then you deserve whatever awaits you.

remember iraq and "weapons of mass destruction" remember the taliban in afghanistan which incidentally were funded and armed by the CIA.

you guys are failing to see the bigger picture, maybe it will all become clear when the US start deploying troops to nigeria in order to "liberate" nigeria from terrorism just like iraq!!!

this practice of blaming criminal incidents on lone nut cases is not a new one -remember jfk, martin luther king, robert kennedy, malcolm x etc (all killings perpetrated by the US govt)

this story has so many holes in it i dont even know where to begin but because we are so quick to condemn our own people and believe anything our white masters tell us we have swallowed this fabricated nonsense hook line and sinker without even looking closely at the facts.

as an observant poster pointed out earlier have you ever heard of a selfless nigerian - yeah me neither, which young nigerian man from a wealthy family, his whole life in front of him and the world as his oyster is going to blow himself up in the name of islamic fundamentalism - you lot are having a laugh. this is a complete and utter fabrication of the west in order to further marginalise nigerians and keep them out of the west, its an excuse to further target nigerian nationals using that fake excuse "war on terrorism" or "threat to national security".

this is the same way the british locked up supposed al qaeda terrorists in guantanamo on fake and fabricated charges only to release them WITHOUT CHARGE a few years later. how about the fake terrorist attack in london on 7/7/ 05 - using fake pictures of supposed terrorists who did not exist and of course there is the fake 9/11 which even relatives of the victims now know was orchestrated by the US govt - people open your eyes you are being led down a path of lies and deceit by the west - yet again.

Jeez . . . are you a camel??
if im a camel then that must make you a sheep - gullible, unimaginative and easily led LOL!!!!

A dude gives a sarcastic reply to a question thrown at him during an interview . . . on an issue he obviously doesn't care about . . . and you wanna hang yourself cos of it?? You are obviously not gifted in what they call "reading between the lines" . . .
do you understand the meaning of sarcasm - obviously not, sarcasm applies ONLY when you are aware of something but you FEIGN ignorance in order to humiliate, demean or a take a shot at someone or something,  the first question that DMX was asked was  "are you following the presidential race" his answer: "not at all" - now to most intelligent people that would indicate that he (DMX) was totally unaware of who was running therefore if he was ignorant as to the candidates how could he then make a sarcastic comment about something he had no knowledge of?

And BTW, when was the interview conducted?? March 2008 - who was Obama then?? And you need to connect that to the fact that X ain't interested in politics . . . he sees the whole system as propaganda and nutin more . . . quit ya myopic view and see things from a dispassionate angle . . .
oh so DMX's ignorance should be  excused because Obama was not yet president -anyone with half a brain cell would understand the historical significance of a black person running for the highest office in the land and pay attention but to your mind its just "propaganda and nutin more"  - this is why our race is in the story state that its in because people like you show no interest in important  issues.

You need to beg ya high school teacher for five knocks on the head for spewing such drivel . . .
lol - how old are you 10? grin grin

What's an interview?? It's a time for some up, close and personal stuff . . . X gave straight-from-the-heart answers . . . and you wanna crucify him for that?? What's wrong with having opinions and being honest about them?? You're obviously a fan of lies - you're one of those who'll applaud an obviously emaciated President Yar'Adua when he tells you that he's fit as a fiddle . . .
you see your naivite is coming through loud and clear - interviews are very important particularly to people in the limelight like DMX because people like him are seen as icons to young black disenfrachised men therefore it is important that he sends out the right signals and doesnt come across as ignorant and self absorbed as he does in this interview.  For your information entertainers are mouthpieces and conduits of popular opinion and they are in very powerful positions as their words, thoughts and actions can influence significant numbers of people.  the likes of bob marley, john lennon, fela kuti have had huge influences on the minds of people particularly young people

This is one of the most disgusting pieces of bullcrap I've ever read from a member of the homo sapiens . . .

Prayer (I-III), Ready To Meet Him, Lord Gimme A Sign, Angel, Slippin' - to name a few . . . what are those about??

So, if an artiste tells you in a song to "kill yourself", you'll put ya finger to the trigger and pull?? The fact that you chose to become an armed robber ain't nobody's fault . . . it's ya choice . . . name ya best rapper and tell me he doesn't rap about gunz and violence?? Except you're a fan of Will Smith . . .  grin grin
for every one of the above songs you have mentioned i can mention a couple more of his songs with offensive lyrics, here goes:

"Ama kill you"
"blown away"
"commin for ya"
"crime story"

and no i dont bother listening to rappers bragging about guns and violence as its complete and utter mind pollution, i dont listen to will smith either as i find his music bland but these sorry assed rappers pretending to be macho but exploiting weak minded individuals with all the misogyny and violence that they spew is to me doing the black community a gross disservice.

You're just too lazy to put ya sense to work . . . I don't listen to rap to get educated or informed, you do. What's the relevance of books and the media??
see my comments above - just in case you missed it rappers are modern day poets  and have a responsibilty to their listeners, using words like nigga, biatch, hoe shows them up for the low life scum that they are - they should be offering something better than that - music is a powerful medium and shoudl be used in a positive form ie  to convey useful information/knowledge  - a lot of young people are more likely to memorise and understand the lyrics to most popular rap artists songs than the words of shakespeare in julius caesar.

Being first Afro-American President is an achievement . . . but for how long are you gonna ride on the back of that?? Reasonable dudes are now looking beyond that and trying to concentrate on Obama's achievements in office . . . how old are you?? 28?? How do you rate ya life's achievements?? By going back in time - 28 years ago when you were born??
what do you mean "for how long are you gonna ride on the back of that! - when did obama assume office - it hasnt even been a year yet -he should be given time to repair the damage caused by 8 years of bush.  if you had the patience to put up with 8 years of mismanagement surely you can manage another 4 to see whether the damage can be repaired - so please dont get your knickers in a twist

What relevance does this part of ya post bear to the topic??
X is a suffix used by members of the nation of islam  to replace their former slave names eg Malcolm X used the x suffix to replace his "slave name" Little. - you refer to DMX as "X" which  could erroneously lead people to beleive that he is a member of the nation of islam which clearly he isnt based on his ignorant statements about Obama and his failure to understand and accept his own african ancestry.

Shush . . .

If you had taken the time to read the interview well . . . you'd have observed that X was speaking from the POV of a man who just doesn't give 2 flyin' f**ks about a system that equally gives no flyin' f**k about him . . .

He ain't ignorant . . . you, oh brutha, are the ignoramus here.
@bamsyle you're chatting crap - this guy is a total idiot - what kind of idiot is so self absorbed that they dont even feel the need to take notice of whats going on around them, also notice how he tries to slate obama by stupidly ridiculing his name and asking the ridiculous question "where he from africa" where the hell does he himself think he is from - what a dumbass" if thats your own example of an intelligent person that says a lot about you

secondly even if we are to accept that he is a self obsessed idiot who has no time to care about what goes on around him why would he brazenly and openly demonstrate this by admitting it publicly, you've got to be kidding me if you're trying to defend this fool - whats intelligent about this guy, how meaningful are the lyrics to any of his songs, the last time i checked he was advocating murder and violence whats intelligent about that, you must be having a laugh mate.

this guy is about as deep as a paddling pool - all he cares about is exploiting and brainwashing people like you who cant think for themselves , he's laughing all the way to the bank on the back of people like you dude.

and btw first african american president IS an acheivement - it might not put food on the tables of most black people in america but it sure as hell is giving a lot of racist whites sleepless nights and a lot of blacks a psychological boost.

oh and btw please dont call him X as people might think he subscribes to the teachings of the nation of islam who recognise their african ancestry not this brainwashed slave who doesnt even understand that all black people are africans.

here is one of the reasons why i think some of  these african american rappers need to be rounded up and dumped on reservations with the key subsequently thrown away. here we have a grown assed 38 year old african american man who did not know a black man by the name of barack obama was running for president and as if that wasnt bad enough when being interviewed instead of being embarrassed by his ignorance he actually goes on to ask the unbeleivable question "damn what the f**** is a barack where he from africa?!!!!!

these are the illiterates some of our nigerian musicians copy and look up to - god help us

@emyah is definitely raising credible points as to the justification for biafra to break away from the artificial construct known as nigeria, its only being held together for the economic expediency of the northern oligarchy acting in accordance with instructions given by their british masters, however my question is how do you seriously propose bringing this about without sacrificing millions of lives as was the case with the biafran war?

im a staunch advocate of a peoples right to self determination if the existing structure that they are forced to be a part of has demonstrated time and time again that it has no regard for human life, property or progress. but the question is which is the way forward.

the jews who fled nazi germany following horrendous persecution and genocide of their people demanded and were given a homeland (albeit in contravention of the rights of the palestinian people) however their (the jews) survival today is due to the ongoing military and financial support provided to them by the US, how does biafra hope to survive as an independent nation - if biafra is to secede again will this incorporate the niger delta region? if so where wil this leave britain in the scheme of things? will they switch sides and become an ally to biafrans or step up their ongoing arms supply to nigeria in order to crush any proposed secession as they did during the civil war? emyah id appreciate your comments on some of these issues, thanks
