cold: Now you're being disingenuous. That was his campaign rhetoric. He ran on closing tax loopholes for the rich, ending the Bush tax cuts and giving everyone a fair shake. And he won. Please always come level with the public. The large corporations and super-pacs like the Koch brothers were all for Romney.I'm glad you referred to it as campaign rhetoric - what you campaign on before you get into office and what you actually do when you are in office are two very different things - has Obama deliverd on any of his promises to close tax loopholes for the rich? i think you will find that the answer is a resounding no. Lying to the public does not equate to "coming level with them" By the way why are you in support of tax loopholes for the rich - arent you just an ordinary joe like everyone else? surely only the rich should support govt policies that benefit them ? Poor nigerians are the only group of poor people i know who support policies designed to keep them poor and further enrich the rich. |
cold: If it is legal then it cannot be a crime. Obama has been struggling to close such loopholes and end the Bush Tax cuts but the GOP won't let him. So there you goThe multi millionaire owner of BHS (british home stores) Philip Green evaded tax to the tune of £1billion while a british worker earning more than £32K pays 40% of their income in tax - sounds pretty fair doesnt it? Obama cant close the US tax loopholes as the beneficiaries of these loopholes are the same people who donated millions of dollars towards his election campaign when he was running for president - You don't bite the fingers that helped you into the corridors of power. |
cold: They legally evade tax through tax loopholes & Tax deductions such as executive stock options.A loophole indicates that something is wrong - the rich shouldnt be allowed to profit from gaps in the law - especially when they can afford to pay tax. |
looks like she's on her way to cash in her food stamps. |
kingoflag: Because the law works in other places not called "Nigeria".It still shouldnt be breaking news Im not a fan of Wesley Snipes but i think he was used as a scapegoat - there are so many US corporations that do not pay tax eg Amazon and Facebook. |
Hugoboi: Serves Mr West right. That is what you get when u start messing with rich women of loose morals. Kim K is a slut period! Doesn't matter if she's a rich one.dumb negro - aka kanye west took the piss out of his own ex - amber rose when he chatted about her p****** being reupholstered, he even got chris rock to rap about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xufZV8FpXNM can we re introduce compulsory sterilisation in order to cut down on the number of these dead beat negroes in our midst with nothing better to do with their time than talk about women's p.................y's? |
Oluchi is the african version of naomi campbell, she's a pretty girl but - pretty according to the standards of white homosexual men in the western world who control the fashion and beauty industry in paris, london and new york. white homosexuals equate emaciated bodies with beauty, this is very unafrican. the average african man prefers a woman with some meat on her bones not an emaciated human clothes hanger. ![]() |
The world is on the verge of a third world war, people are losing their jobs, companies are going bankrupt on a daily basis and what are people preoccupied with? Some dumb negro talking about how he hit some hoe's punany first - what sort of world are we living in where a dumb cash strapped negro is so devoid of ideas for a new song he has to talk about how he hit some hoe's punany before some other dumb negro did. shame! |
and this is breaking news because............. ![]() |
bookface: So Chinese Policy makers knew the US wants to wage a nuclear war against it in the future and it is not currently stockpiling its nuclear arsenal in huge amount for that D-date? except perhaps, those guys in china don't really know, only this Poster does.what point are you trying to make here? China has every right to develop a military defence system and if that means developing nuclear capability to defend its sovereignty - so be it. the united states is the only nation that has used nuclear weapons against its enemy - they are therefore the loose canons in this whole situation. |
This guy's suicide is a sign of the times in the UK - many young people are going to find themselves in a situation where they have qualifications, no job to go to and huge debts on their backs - i dont mean to be insensitive but at least this guy had a job - there are many like him who will not even have any means of paying back the huge student debts that they will run up. |
white people and stress do not mix- they are so used to an easy life that when things dont go according to plan they lose it. There are so many africans who have masters degrees and phds that are doing all sort of menial jobs in the UK but they just keep plodding on beleiving that at some point things will take a turn for the better. |

dayokanu: In Naija you dont have to worry about these billsyeah, just kidnappers and armed robbers. |
loswhite: I agree it is a source of their power but I will also give them credit 4 dat kind of negotiation cos it is serious brain work dat they did since the dollar gold pegging was falling and with dat they were able to beat Russia in the arms race. Afghanistan is also a strategic location in terms of resources also, so dat cud b d reason they were invaded by d Russians and US with d help of Saudi Arabia funded the Islamic army to push the Russian out thereby creating so called terrorist organization. Truth b told it is a battle of supremacy and nw I get ur gist on North Korea on d listYeah i agree with you - the policy makers in washington are very intelligent - they knew that they had to tie the US dollar to a valuable commodity that every nation in the world needed and they used crude oil. But the problem now is that many nations of the world have also discovered a way to get around this system and there is no way the US will accept for China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, India, Brazil and North Korea to continue to transact crude oil sales in an alternative currency as this will ultimately destroy the US dollar. Therefore it is actually a foregone conclusion that if the US wants to remain the world's superpower it will have to go to war with China and Russia. |
loswhite: the countries he quoted are anti US hav bin anti US and will do anything to see the US fallThe countries i mentioned want to have control over their own affairs, they want to be able to control their own political and economic development - why is that a bad thing? |
Michaeljones36: Yes, sounds very familiar. Sounds like the mutterings of homeless escaped mental patients.okay, you are obvioulsy one of those blinkered individuals that hate the truth and prefer to live in your own little world. |
loswhite: is petro dollar ur beef with US. Pls every country have their Interest including the china and Russia that u r supporting , afterall in 80 soviet invaded Afghanistan for some reason so as much as u luv doin research on US pls also do on ur Russia and Chinese and spare us dis petrodollar stuff as if US is d first to protect intrest. And those nation u mentioned have always been anti US so don't act as if it is petrodollar that is their problem plus pls remove North Korea frm ur list cos dem no get oil to trade In d first place.Sorry but i have to bring up the petro dollar angle because that is the source of america's power. Most people do not know this and think america's power comes from its ingenuity and its belief in freedom, justice and democracy. Nothing could be further from the truth. Also North Korea is on that list because it refuses to buy oil in dollars not because it has oil, you dont have to have oil in order to trade in oil. |
Michaeljones36: As soon as you start saying that 9/11 was a secret US Government plot, you sound like a nutcase. At least have the decency to admit that you have no answers to any of my questions instead of taking the coward's way out. If i sound like a nut case because i beleive that 9/11 was an inside job that means that over 30% of americans are also nutcases as well as one of the co chairmen of the 9/11 commission who beleives the same thing too. Have you heard of Operation Northwoods? [b]Operation Northwoods was a series of false flag proposals that originated within the United States government in 1962, but were rejected by the Kennedy administration.[2] The proposals called for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), or other operatives, to commit perceived acts of terrorism in U.S. cities and elsewhere. These acts of terrorism were to be blamed on Cuba in order to create public support for a war against that nation, which had recently become communist under Fidel Castro.[3] One part of Operation Northwoods was to "develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington".Does it sound familiar? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods |
Michaeljones36: The US invaded Iraq because GW Bush had some perverse daddy issues or something. Bush's father had problems with Saddam and ended up as a one term Presido.I can't beleive you could make the above statement without being ironic - i mean seriously! you think that the united states spent millions of US tax payer's money to go to war based on some "perverse daddy issues" how about the fact that Saddam started selling his oil in euros dont you think that had something to do with it? You are one of the few remaining people who still beleive 9/11 was carried out by a group of arabs - i mean have you even attempted to think about it in your mind, dont you think that it defies all logic to beleive that a handful of saudis armed only with box cutters could singlehandedly outwit NORAD, US intelligence, the US airforce, US air traffic control, the Pentagon and the US national security council - those arabs must not only be terrorists they must be super human! Also if we are to beleive your story about the involvement of the saudis - why was bin laden's family allowed to leave the US the day after 9/11 ? if the Iraq war was not about oil - what was it about? The US demanded that Saudi Arabia pay for oil in dollars because the OPEC nations (which are a political group whose members are all major oil producers) decided to artificially raise prices in the 1970's. This caused a MAJOR panic in the world markets and was an unmitigated disaster for all of the oil importing nations of the world. All of them. Not just the US.No you are talking about the OPEC embargo which is totally different and which was carried out by the arab OPEC countries to punish america and its allies for supporting israel during the Yom Kippur War of 1973, the arab OPEC countries also wanted to redress the unfair trading agreements that they had with many western oil companies who were able to buy oil from them at rock bottom prices. this is a totally different issue and it was only after the embargo had been lifted that the US then came up with the idea of crude oil purcahses and sales being conducted in the US dollar, this was done in order to take away power from OPEC and transfer control of oil prices to the US. Economists came to the conclusion, that it was a major problem for oil producing nations to receive foreign currency (in the form of money paid for oil) and for them not to recycle that currency back into the global markets. The solution was for oil producing nations to agree to purchase dollars, so that currency would continue to circulate in the world markets, and also so that there would be stability in the exchange rates. For example, if Saudi Arabia traded with each country in it's own currency, then Finland would always be worried about the exchange rate of it's currency relative to Saudi Arabia. Using the stable US dollar makes oil importing nations happier. The above makes no sense - the US dollar has never been stable and was definitely not stable as at the time it became the only acceptable currency for trade in crude oil- as a matter of fact the dollar had been depreciating in value very badly by the early 70s and this is why Nixon decided to take it off the gold standard and transform it into a fiat currency. And to say that the US dollar is stable now means that you have been living undr a rock for the past 10 years, if it is so stable why are the BRICS countries now using their own currencies to trade with each other? |
and this is news because.............. ![]() |
I realized he is an infant very late. I would advise you stop quoting him cos he may think he is intelligent. Saudi Arabia has oil yet its not considered first world. Unexposed ones thinks real GDP are measured by the amount of oil you export out of your country. NL needs more enlightened topics on front page to separate the shafts from the grains
Does anyone in their right mind consider NIgeria to be a first world country despite the volume of oil it exports? I dont think you understand anything about oil and its relevance to the world economy. by the way its "seperate the wheat from the chaff" not "shafts from the grains" - you sound like you must be a product of that collapsed nigerian educational system you love talking about. ![]() |
hotwax: Because your fake china brain doesn't know how much US realized from the sales of F-22 fighter last year. How many jumbo jet boein has sold. How many patroit missie Nato is purchasing. USA is making money also from weapons. You need to get A̶̲̥̅ clue and stop posting anyrtin for feel like.so why is it running a national deficit of $16 trillion and rising? |
Michaeljones36: I am going to make the assumption that you are pretty young.I am going to make the assumption that you are not very intelligent. Once you gain a more indepth understanding of how the US operates and the fact that it is an empire whose sole objective is to retain and maintain its position as the world super power, then and only then will you begin to understand the whole concept of the petrodollar trade system. Your ignorance has completely blinded you to the fact that the US has a vested interest in keeping crude oil as the sole source of energy, i have asked you a few times to explain to me why the US invaded Iraq and i still havent received an answer. Also if you can, answer the following: Why did the US do a deal with Saudi Arabia in the 1970s stipulating that all purchases and sales of crude oil be conducted using the US dollar? |
I asked you a question and you answered by asking same question? That's plagiarism bruv. Anyways just have it in mind that NL is not for dummies alone, do a fact check before posting ignorance. .....Bye
Okay i dont know the answer - would you be so kind as to enlighten me on OPEC's role with regard to pricing and embargoes. and please dont take the coward's way out by resorting to name calling. thanks in advance. |
Question for question and sometimes we wonder why our education system is in turmoil. Anyways, lets call it a day. No need comparing Ipad with a china man tablet.....lol
Its a very simple question and i can tell from your inability to answer it that you understanding of this topic is extremely limited - since you are an authority on OPEC embargoes i ask you again please enlighten me or were you just blowing hot air? |
I hope you took economics in college? What role does OPEC play in pricing and trade embargo? Nairaland is not visited by dummies alone. Do some research before making a post. Your contribution sounds like he say she say
why dont you tell me the role opec plays in pricing and trade embargoes? I'm all ears. |
Have your heard of renewable energy? You better embrace the trend now cos in the near future, a single barrel may worth 25 dollars or less. Visit 2013 car show In Europe or North America to see how companies are competing in different model of fuel efficiency vehicles.
Its like you people have difficulty understanding what i am saying - the US CONTROLS THE PRICE OF CRUDE OIL BY WAY OF ITS MILITARY PRESENCE WHICH IT USES TO INTIMIDATE NATIONS ALL OVER THE GLOBE - why is this so difficult to understand? do you think that the US will allow other nations to invest in renewable energy when its very survival is dependant on keeping nations hooked on crude oil? |
Michaeljones36: China pegged their currency to the dollar, so I have no idea what you are talking about.I think you'll find that the US IMPOSES treasury bills on any country who wishes to purchase crude oil. Almost all crude oil transactons are conducted in the dollar - any nation that tries to move out of this arrangement is attacked China pegged their currency to the dollar in order to keep the value of the yuan low in order to make their exports cheaper and more affordable to other importing countries- however it is tied into buying US treasury bills as a consequence of this arrangement. You have completely missed the point i was making - all of the above countries do not want to buy or sell oil using the US dollar because it is depreciating in value due to inflation, if any of those countries pull out of the dollar the dollar will collapse within days. The United States know this and thats why all if not most of those countries are under some form of attack. If the US is not bothered about Russia pulling out of the dollar why does it have military bases encircling russia, the same also applies to Iran, why are there over 400 US military bases surrounding Iran? Also if the US were not bothered about any country pulling out of the petro dollar system why did it attack iraq when Saddam started selling his oil in euros? |
Michaeljones36: This is all simple. So the United States is this benevolent power that comes to the rescue of the weak ? How come she didnt come to the rescue of the rwandans when over a million of them were massacred in less than 3 months. Do you not see that there is a pattern to the way the US operates - have you ever heard of the petro dollar system? I would advise you to research it. The US attacks any nation that tries to trade outside this system, its most recent casualites are: Iraq Libya other countries who do not want to trade within this system are: Russia China north korea Syria Venezuela Iran are you getting the picture now? |
shymmex/ coogar have you seen this hilarious clip about David (call me Dave) Cameron selling arms in the middle east: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhOsEkehK-w |
David Cameron = over privileged douche bag who is only where he is in life today courtesy of the silver spoon that he found in his mouth at birth. Whilst students at Oxford University, Cameron, boris johnson and nathaniel rothschild of the famous rothschild banking family were involved in acts of vandalism, violence and excessive cocaine ingestion, today these over privileged tossers are now hailed as exemplary citizens worthy of our respect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ6MtAxTYQ0 |
