The vast array of improvements financially done in the past four seasons also plays a huge factor.

City have given Pep a better squad, at whatever cost. Bought 2 new Gks, bought 4 or 5 defenders, bought 4 attackers, 1 striker to to a team with atleast 4 quality top players at the time whereas Man U had just De Gea and maybe Martial who along with other previous buys were bought based on future potential.
