BEIJING, July 11 (Reuters) - Chinese state-owned metals trader Sinosteel is in talks to take over a state-owned steel mill in Nigeria and expand its capacity to 5.6 millions tonnes from 1.3 million, Nigeria's mining minister said on Thursday during a visit to Beijing.http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSL6N0FH24U20130711?irpc=932 |
25Calibre: You are the one displaying ignorance. There are loads more modern assault riffles out there with better range, accuracy, velocity.for the record nigerian airforce paratroopers/ special forces use tavor 21 |
Some nairalanders are so mischievous. The weapons in display are thore that are stored at the abuja military armoury alone. Most of the weapons are based in the north-east and the West. For the records these are made in Nigeria rockets and rocket pods |
Finally, i hope peace returns to Adamawa! I think its high time Gej goes through with that Isreali spy contract, with that in ground the will be no need to totally cut off mobile services when the need to streamline or monitor its activities arises. GEJ ALL THE WAY |
@op Open the t*to of tonto it le'me see its really hear |
Another wahala? We give upppp! |
PRoceed with caution |
unless there is any credible presidential candidate from APC then Jonathan is sure to win! Maybe Goodluck would smile on him if APC decide to field Buhari as it candidate, because buhari is bound to loose |
some nairalanders are just pure fools. Sorry big foools. So you mad men have nt seen the part in the order of events that says that Gej is going to be received officially in the great peoples of china? Or failed to see the part that includes a presidential banquet? You bunch of ignoramus! When obama visited SA who received him? Shebi na zuma? Na mumu una be . . . In the words of Yuzedo "I Give up" on nairalanders ignorance |
Obama is slowly loosing grip on Nigeria to xi jinping under jonathan govt. Personally i dnt see anything with the Nigeria-china relationship as far as it is mutual. We have the raw materials and the have the technology, oya trade by barter na! why does it seem nairalanders only see the bad part in nigeria? No body mentioned the part in the article where the same china is constructing 4 new airports |
Punch nigeria 7th july 2013 beijing, china contrary to speculation in some quarters that the president's visit to china is a frivalous trip, indication have emerged that it may yield good fruits The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation is pledged to deliver the four international airport terminals it will be constructing in Nigeria in 20 months' time. The airport terminals will be located in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt. This is coming as the ministersof Transport and Works, Senator Idris Umar and Mr. Mike Onolememen, have called on the construction company toinvest in Nigeria considering the enormous projects being handled by it in the country. The President, CCECC, Mr. Yuan Li, disclosed the firm's resolve to complete the airportterminals in record time when ahigh-powered delegation of Nigerian government officials paid him a courtesy/facility inspection visit at the corporate headquarters of thecompany in Beijing on Tuesday. Li, according to a statement signed by the Special Adviser (Media) to the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Joe Obi, said the quality of the work to be done at the airports would be of thehighest international standard comparable to similar projects executed by the company in other parts of the world. He said the construction of theairport terminals was a specialproject by the company, adding that it would endeavourto complete the task in record time. In her remarks, the Minister ofAviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, said she was eagerly looking forward to the signing of the agreement between both countries with respect to enhancing infrastructure development in Nigeria. She expressed optimism that the construction giant would complete the projects in the next 18 to 20 months. Oduah said she had no doubt on either the quality of job to be delivered by CCECC or the completion timeline since due diligence was conducted before the Federal Government finally settled for the company. |
I like this report. Its totally unbiased |
Why does it seem our homeboys are only deadly against african teams? I suggest keshi plays african teams with the homeboys and play the likes of spain, brazil and uruguay with experienced foreign based stars |
Nice development. As 4 those ACN Goons, i dnt blame you guys, if this project was nt executed you would be the first to say that GeJ govt is corrupt. |
1. I think it is very possible to join, as in much more possible for a female non nigerian to join given she meets basic requirement, this is because the NA is scouting 4 large number of female recruits. 2. A male non nigerian can also join bt will be a little more tedious, given the fact that there are a million and one able body nigerian boys ready to take the gun(join the army). 3. Most importantly the Nigerian army is rumoured to increase it capacity from 100,000 troops to 150,000 troops, so who ever picks up the form nw is likely to pick up the gun, because the army is in dire need of over 50,000 cadets. 4.and . . . One more thing, get ready to be deployed to warzones immediately after training, cos all the units of the nigerian army are currently engaged in combat. I.e op pulo sheild in niger delta, op safe have in plateau, op restore hope in borno etc |
After reading this news, i was like laughing to a standstill. ROFLMAO . . . Irish gay activist? Hacking nigerian official website doesnt mean anything to anybody in nigeria, infact i doubt that the FG even knws about it, even if they do its just like pouring water on a birds back, when nigeria is faced with islamist extremism and infrastrutural deficit, gay marriage is the last thing on the Mind of uncle Gej. And this might even make the senate toughen it stands on the matter! Who visits the site anyway? The Irish hacker better go to borno and stage a peaceful protest, maybe then that wil get the attention of the FG if the survive IED Attack from boko haram |
almost all first commentators are brainless ignoramus! GEJ is not going there to burrow only you fools; he is going to for; 1.Defense assistance 2. Possibly, Procure the L-15's jet in the military budget 3.discuss investment opportunities with xi jinping and other chinese business men 4.help in technology and civil engineering training etc pls always do some research b4 spewing rubbish |
this is the main reason why the head of govt should always appoint his service cheifs, i wouldnt see such a situation being feasible in Nigeria where the service cheifs and top generals are under Jonathan circumference of influence and take others only from him, the Court decision to nullify the appointment of service cheif by the president is tantamous to a potential military coup d'etat and derogatory to a democratically structure govt on the present dispensation. |
yuzedo: am afriad. is my banana iceland CO fake? oh God plis help me and i serve u forevermore. am cryin.hahahahahaha! My yuzedo! It better not be fake oh cos am just abt to relocate there from calaber |

lesson: nigerians only know how to rant of nairaland, fb and twitter bt no action! What happened to the #OccupyNigeria campaign? Long gone . . . Yet we crave for change! Change isn't coming overnight; yes, bt we have 2 start today, tell your brothers, tell your sisters, we are tired of the gov't! ChangeWeNeed, pack up for nationwide protest and yes; YesWeCan, if i can then you can, if you can the together YesWeCan. #OccupyNigeria @NigerianSpring |
with the current trend of terrorism and ethno-religious brohaha i think it shouldnt be scrapped but broaden to include a compulsory Military service, that way some graduates would be obsessed with, if not posessed by spirit of patriotism and have military training for self defense! That way, It would also save as an active Federal Reserve troops that can be called upon at any time during National security emergency and threat of aggression to defend the country. This in my opinion will be like killing 3 birds with 1 stone, because it will eliminate the need for the govt to maintain/fund a large armed forces, eliminate the problem of lack of military reserve, induce spirit of patrioticism into the graduates, prepare them for both economic, financial and military challanges. |
Meanwhile. . . . . what ever happened to eko ille and co. |
