Bosch10:Am glad you do, bro. Thanks. |
[s] MizJanet:[/s] You see why I always say you are a bundle of confusion? ![]() |
MizJanet:Before you go on arguing aimlessly, try consult the King James version of the Bible to know which makes sense - calling them 'creature' or 'souls'. Lol. This direction of your argument is so clueless. No offense. |
Bosch10:Lol. Thanks for pointing out that error. Edited. |
Bosch10:Why is that? It is written in James 2:26 for scriptural reference. |
MizJanet:You're one great heap of confusion. I had refused to make any reply to your post as regards animals having souls. However, I shall leave you with this explanation but you're free to ignore it like you do others. When a person dies, righteous or wicked, or an animal his or its spirit (the life of man) returns to God. However, the soul of each man goes for judgment. The body without the spirit is dead. Geddit? Animals have spirit but not soul, unlike man. The spirit of man or animal, that is, the life that makes both function on earth is not subject to judgment. The soul is. It is the soul that represents the real person that houses one's feelings, wills, desires, thoughts - the real you. I hope this little explanation in all its simplicity is not beyond your comprehension. |
trapQ:Their blindness goes really deep I tell you. Endless argument will accomplish nothing that's why I quit this thread having tried reasoning with them to no avail. Hopefully, they will realize before it's too late. |
Op, great testimony of the goodness and grace of Jesus Christ. Keep the fire of the Spirit burning. No one like Jesus. |
The correct spelling of ISLAM is E V I L. Not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are muslims. This is the Bible prophecy coming to pass that - "Ishmael shall be a wild man; his hand shall be against every man and every man's hand against him" (Genesis 16:12) Op, there's nothing you say to the contrary that will erase the truth of the fact that Islam is evil from birth. Before you disagree with me concerning the verse I quoted, do a quick research to dispel your ignorance. But, of course, you know that already. |
And I wonder why this piece of news didn't make front page. Unfortunately, after many years they still never learn. The ways of God always lead to peace and life. The ways of sinners always lead to sudden destruction. |
johnydon22:At least I have proved the fact that we have spirits and animals don't. What is your proof to the contrary? |
johnydon22:There are tons and tons of reports or experiences relating to encounters with God or Jesus. You'll have no problem finding them on the internet. In fact, the internet is literally flooded with them. This privilege of knowing the Christian God personally, speaking with Him and hearing from Him is what makes Christianity stand out from religion. You gave a link of supposed people seeing Krishna but I was so disappointed when I visited the site. It was just a lecture on seeing Krishna, not reports of many seeing Krishna as I expected. You can do better than that. |
johnydon22:There you go again. The patriarchs of the Bible acted on the Word of God, unlike the word of one man who claimed sole access to Allah. Knowing God and hearing Him is what defines faith. Geddit? Faith in God has the element absolute assurance of God's existence, not blind belief in something. It is seeing the evidence of God in our daily lives, interacting with Him on issues concerning life, having Him answer our prayers, receiving supernatural guidance from Him. Which religion can boast of such absolute assurance in the existence of the god(s) they worship? |
MizJanet:And you conveniently overlooked Ecclesiastes 12:14 which says "For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil" Now, does that not tell you that the grave he was talking about is physical death and burial? If indeed that verse was supposed to mean non-existence, then how do you explain 12:14? A confirming verse in the Bible is Hebrews 9:27 which says, "And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment". Quit making selective quotations. |
johnydon22:One, I don't believe the earth is just 6000 years old. I believe the earth spans millions of years in age. Stop jumping into conclusions. Two, I don't believe animals have souls. It was never recorded in the Bible. It has never been reported of the souls of animals going to heaven or hell or standing before the Judgment throne of God. However, this thread was not created to debate the spiritual existence or not of animals. |
johnydon22:Johnny, I overlooked this. I have gone through the links provided but saw only signs that were attributed to Allah. There was no report of any encounter with the deity, Allah neither was there miracles of Allah to his followers like resurrection from the dead. Is there any such miracle in Islam or buddhism or Hinduism? Have they had the privilege, as followers, of divine encounter with the god(s) they worship? Even false prophets perform semblance of miracles but they can never produce the evidence of knowing God personally neither do they have the power to raise anyone from the dead. Just as you have provided the links above provide others with the conditions I stated. I want to see those people who have seen their deities and confirmed by others. |
dalaman:At least there must be very wide range of these claims as regards reincarnation. You'll have no trouble furnishing me with links of many hindus whose reports of reincarnation have been verified. It doesn't end there, please also provide evidence of non-hindu people who can corroborate those claims of reincarnation. Have they ever set eyes on Lord Krishna or Ganesha in their current lives? It is easy to say they saw these deities in their past lives which gives them protection as the excuse of 'not entirely recalling the events of their past lives' is readily available to whoever makes further inquiry into their claims to verify their authenticity. |
johnydon22:Let me ask, is it faith to blindly follow a religion whose creator has remained a mystery for hundreds of years? Is it faith to practice a religion whose so-called deity has remained silent, never speaking or appearing to many of his followers in order to clear doubts from the minds of people of his existence? Again, my conviction as regards the Word of God goes beyond mere written text. It stems from daily events confirming the reality of the Word of God. This makes the Bible extraordinarily supernatural. God does not rely on well-constructed human argument to demonstrate His power but confirms His Word with signs and wonders. I even thought you had something new to show us. . . Why don't you regale us the details of your experimentThere's nothing new about the Word of God in today's world. Whatever new thing I or anyone says that is not already in the Bible is false teaching. |
johnydon22:Where are the confirmations of those claims? Have they witnessed in reality the claims of their religions to the extent that they can say with all confidence that their religious books are divine and true? You have not been listening, have you? Christians say Jesus is alive because so so so many of them have seen Him ranging from little kids to adults. Heck, even hundreds of Muslims have testified to seeing Him but none, not even one has testified to seeing Allah. Now that's irony. Pheeeeeeew Jewish torah written 400-460Bc, egyptian book of pyramids, book of the dead, chronicles of amon-ra etc written 2000-2600BC. . . shows am very right, you definitely know nothing of history, its clear how hard the bible have formatted you that simple history is not in your agenda.Check your facts and dates. The events recorded in the book of Genesis happened around 6000 BC. I don't discount history. It even adds more confirmation to my conviction. Oh animals can't speak? speaking is for communication and because you do not understand them doesn't mean they don't.We're talking about humans, not animals. Have you seen a Muslim cat or an atheist hyena or Buddhist elephant, or a Jehovah Witness raccoon? The subject of topic is man's afterlife destination, not animals'. |
okeke00:Who is this question referring to? ![]() |
johnydon22:On the contrary, I'm showing you the reason why Jesus Christ is the only Way and Truth and Life. Where is Allah since revealing himself to Mohammed? What miracles or signs have followed the believers of the Quaran? You have eyes and ears, now tell me I'm wrong about my general observation of the empty claims of the thousands of religions in the world. |
johnydon22:I am yet to hear any of them testify to the truth of their religious claims. I have given you my observations in my conviction. It takes personal experience to adjudge something a veritable reality. |
johnydon22:Like I said, which of them can step out and tell the world that they have witnessed Allah's paradise, Buddhist and Hindu reincarnation or non-existence (it's really funny to prove this one) like the Christians claim to do? History is literally your opposite. . .Am sure you haven't read about the TRIBUNAL OF OSIRIS. . . egyptians invented both the notion of afterlife and judgement. . .why do you think theh mummified, built mastabas and pyramids. . .You have a quite twisted notion of the afterlife. The first hint of the afterlife in the Bible was the book of Genesis where it was written that the blood of Abel was crying to God for vengeance. If Abel was in a state of non-existence, why was his blood speaking after death? The second was where God translated Enoch from earth even before death because He pleased God. Now, all this happened before the existence of Egypt.. You cant tell? since you assert humans have spirits, others animals have tooLook, Johnny, don't drag me into needless argument. You well know that animals cannot speak or write like humans so your analogy here is out of place. |
johnydon22:On the contrary, it is truth that reveals the worst form of blindness - ignorance. If the adherents of the multifarious religions in the world have been able to testify to the reality of the claims of their religions, I wouldn't have blamed you for doubting. Now it is clear they blindly put their faith in mere texts without verification while Christianity is the only Faith where God sets out to prove His existence by confirming His Word over and over again through the decades and centuries yet your doubt still clings to you like leech. You have no excuse, Johnny. You have only chosen to remain blind despite seeing the Light. |
johnydon22:Hahahahaha. Yes, a Book did. However, if a book told you something wouldn't it be wise for you to ascertain the truth of its claim, see the results for yourself, so that you get to the point where your confidence in the truth of that Book becomes unshakable? |
johnydon22:What is proof in this context? The egyptians really did a lot of harm when they invented this notion of afterlife because you look out and see people like you who have not finished living this life that they are SURE of, vainfully and greedily clamoring for another, the result is sad.The notion of the afterlife was not invented by and did not spring from the teachings of Egyptians. About spirit and soul ish, am guessing other animals have those tooI'm sure you do. It never goes beyond guessing. |
dalaman:For your information, buddhists have never reported what or who they were before reincarnation No Muslim has ever seen the so-called paradise whether in a vision or through death and resurrection or in dreams. None of them can testify to the 'truth' of the Quaran. Ask any Hindu to provide the proof of their belief, that is, if they have reincarnated into the next realm with the knowledge, partial or full, of their original or previous state of existence to add credibility to their teachings. Where do atheists go when they die? Theirs is even the worst case scenario. They have no scientific evidence of non-existence in death. They're merely making blind conjectures of the state of death in the hope that their 'guess' turn out to be right. Though they discredit the accounts of christians who clinically died and resurrected mysteriously with medical proofs and witnesses to back up their claims, they still find it a herculean task to prove the state of non-existence in death so they are contented to rely on their blind conviction to make themselves feel better. They cannot afford the exploration into the discovery of the unknown as such venture is fatal to their lifestyle of pleasure and their ignorant conviction of the afterlife. |
OgundeleT:The grave is not the final destination of man. It is the beginning of man's endless journey to eternity. |
johnydon22:Johnny, keep deceiving yourself. You have no proof that life ceases entirely in death. I shall believe you atheists when you're able to prove humans have no soul or spirit, otherwise that thing you said up there is = trash * balderdash. |
Otunba6, how long will you keep giving her excuses not to see her? Even if she gets the message don't you think it would even prompt her to see you face to face, to beg you or apologize? You can't avoid confrontation. As for those saying op should forgive and take her back as she 'changed' her ways when he once complained, I suggest you go and study the ways of a chameleon and understand their need to change in different environments. They don't do it for love, they do it for survival. Op, giving her the phone or keeping it is entirely up to you but hey that sister is pure sinister. |
Lol. Tabletgirl, you're really funny. Everyone knows he altered your statement by quoting and editing it. It's a very normal action in social forums, nairaland especially. Like Shalom123 said, let's forget it and move on. |
I'm so so ashamed of Nigeria. If we had stable or constant power supply: we wouldn't have any need for this foreign products to aid sub-standard living, our country wouldn't be a dumping ground for foreign products that would cripple the developing local firms and industries, we wouldn't rely on imports thereby sustaining the productive economy of foreign countries while ours keep falling below expectation, our great unemployment rate which is one of the major reasons for the increase in crime over the years would drastically reduce by more than half since electricity would enable small businesses thrive along with the larger ones, our products would vie with products from developed countries on the international scale, We will make giant strides in the field of science and technological advancement, high cost of living will fall while the standard of living, distinguishing feature of all developed countries, will improve, the value of the naira will rise against other currencies, government internal revenue to fight crime and tackle development projects will increase, a natural by-product of self-employment and the mass springing up of small-scale businesses that rely on electricity to thrive, poverty rate would dry up quickly with stable power supply. I have no time to talk about the foreign investments this would attract and the long term benefits we stand to gain, the improvement in the quality of education it will guarantee, and ultimately how it provides the essential justification of our tenacious grip to the title 'Giant of Africa'. Nigeria has been so long on the road to development but with stable power supply Nigeria will be deemed by the world to have truly arrived. |

if u agree with that bible verse then it means you cease to exist like other animals when you die .
, dont be suprised that your own bible says there is no afterlife
. . well we are not talking about when the events supposedly happened but when the account was written which as young as 400BC.
Rilwayne001 please come tell testify to this guy the truth of your religion... I advice you need to expand you area of study because clearly you have never listened to a hindu or buddhist talk or preach
