BusinessConstabulary Police Officers In Kano Moving About With Ak47 by cassidyjosh(op): 8:10am On May 30, 2025
KANO STATE CONSTABULARY TURNS POLICE UNIFORM INTO ENTERTAINMENT COSTUME ON TIKTOK

We call on the Nigeria Police Force to closely monitor a young man from Daura, Katsina State, who claims to be a Special Constabulary officer but has been using the official police uniform to gain followers on TikTok.

This young man, who was recently apprehended for allegedly impersonating a police officer using the ID of an officer named James Phillips serving in Taraba State, is now actively posting entertainment and musical content on TikTok while wearing the official uniform of the Nigeria Police Force. This is in clear violation of regulations that prohibit the use of official uniforms on social media platforms, especially for entertainment or promotional purposes.

Regrettably, the individual continues to use this uniform without authorization, despite clear statements from the police authorities that such behavior is against the law. If he is indeed a legitimate member of the Special Constabulary, it is important to note that their designated uniform is strictly the “black and black” attire, and they are not permitted to wear any uniform that bears the insignia or emblem of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

We emphasize the urgent need for the Nigeria Police Force to take immediate action against this individual to put an end to this unacceptable practice that undermines the dignity of the police profession, and to confiscate any unauthorized uniform in his possession.

ADDITIONAL CONCERNS

There have also been numerous complaints about this individual being deployed to southern parts of Nigeria as a member of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), even though he is not a police officer. It is on record that Special Constabulary members are not deployed to southern Nigeria under the PMF designation. Following these complaints, he was returned to Kano, where he continues to wear the police uniform on TikTok.

For those who wish to verify for themselves, his TikTok username is: Autandr.

A CALL TO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE

We urge the Inspector General of Police and other relevant authorities to take appropriate legal action against this situation in order to uphold the integrity of the police force and to prevent the misuse of government-issued uniforms for social media popularity.

Nairaland GeneralThe Fate Of Southern Kaduna Christians, What Is The Way Forward by cassidyjosh(op): 5:30pm On Dec 29, 2022
It is no new thing now that since Apc came to power with elrufai as the governor of Kaduna state the christians in southern Kaduna have known no peace, the indiscriminate killings of Christians has reached to a level where the international community needs to intervene because by all indication it has overpowered the Nigerian government and Elrufai has not done anything in curbing the current situation been the sitting governor. The role of the governor in the killings can not be over emphasised as he has been seen and heard making statements that portrays his intolerance for Christians in the southern parts of Kaduna. Further more Elrufai has exempted them from power by running a Muslim Muslim ticket with no one to represent them or their interest, the people of southern Kaduna need to wake up from their slumber because the government of the day is not coming to rescue them; it is time they take matters into their hands and salvage what is left, the governor has openly made his islamic agenda known by appointing emirate over indigenous traditional rulers for every tribe in southern Kaduna. He brings Muslim who are Hausas or Fulani's and appoints them as traditional rulers who operates Islamic laws to preside over Christians in their local communities with no idea about their historical cultures and no regards or respect for their lives, norms or values. Any traditional leader who refuses to come under the so called Islamic Emirates is liable to have his community attacked by fulani and Hausa bandits and such ruler stands a high chance of losing his own life. An example of such is the first class chief of a local community called the Adara chiefdom who's ruler was slain like a chicken after refusing to bow to the Islamic Emirates; his death and the continuous attack of the christian community served as an example to any ruler who follows suit as that will be the fate that awaits any ruler and his community. The people of southern Kaduna have lost their voice, foreigners have invaded their lands and taken what belongs to them it is high time they take back what is Thiers by fire by force. All southern Kaduna people what is the way forward?

Nairaland GeneralPrice Of Gas Drops Significantly by cassidyjosh(op): 9:54am On Jan 09, 2022
The Federal Government on Thursday said it was putting measures in place to ensure further reduction in the cost of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, popularly called cooking gas.

It disclosed this while reacting to the recent marginal drop in the cost of cooking gas.

According to findings, the price of 12.5kg LPG has dropped from N8,800 to between N8400 and N8200. In some outlets, the price of the commodity dropped to between N7,800 and N8,000 as of Thursday.

In November, The PUNCH exclusively reported that the cost of LPG kept rising in 2021, jumping by more than 240 per cent between January and October 2021.

The development forced some LPG users to shift to charcoal or firewood, as consumers of the commodity raised the alarm over the persistent hike in its price.

The product had increased by 240 per cent for 12.5kg, moving up from N3,000 to N10,200 within the first 10 months of 2021.

“It is in government’s interest for the price to go down consistently and there are certain initiatives that are being taken at the moment, which hopefully will see to further drops in price regardless of the international cost,” the Programme Manager, National LPG Expansion Implementation Plan, Office of the Vice President, Dayo Adeshina, stated. When asked to state one of such initiatives, he replied, “The discussions are still ongoing and there are certain things that you can do to stimulate the market which will have an effect. One of them also has to do with storage.”

About 65 per cent of the LPG is imported into Nigeria, while domestic production accounts for 35 per cent, hence the cost of the commodity in the global market affects the price locally.

Adeshina told our correspondent that the international price of the LPG had risen so high in October last year, but dipped towards the end of 2021 into January 2022, as this also contributed to the recent drop in the LPG price across the country.

He said, “If you look at the international pricing of the LPG, and that might change again because it is not a fixed price, in January last year, it was $250 per tonne.

“It rose to $875 per tonne by the end of October and started dropping by the end of November into December, and came down to around $500 per tonne at some point but went up again in December to $708 per tonne.”
He added, “Now, as of the third of January this year, that figure is $744 per tonne. So you can see there is a drop from about $800 around November to $700 in January. The issue here is that the price has been fluctuating.

“Yes you have the effects of Customs and the position of the VAT that made people pay tax for what they imported even in 2019 and 2020. Of course, some importers stopped importing, but there is a resolution going on to resolve that aspect.”

Cooking gas price drops, supply rises, govt projects further decrease

Cooking Gas Depot Price drop

The Federal Government on Thursday said it was putting measures in place to ensure further reduction in the cost of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, popularly called cooking gas.

“Yes you have the effects of Customs and the position of the VAT that made people pay tax for what they imported even in 2019 and 2020. Of course, some importers stopped importing, but there is a resolution going on to resolve that aspect.”

Adeshina assured Nigerians that the government would come up with additional measures that would see to a further reduction in cooking gas prices regardless of the price fluctuation in the global market.

Commenting on the development, the National Chairman, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Retailers Association of Nigeria, Michael Umudu, confirmed the drop in LPG price, attributing it to the increase in supply by the NNPC and NLNG.

“Also, many LPG users stopped using the commodity at the time when the price kept increasing and this reduced demand pressure on cooking gas, hence causing a rise in its availability and then a gradual drop in price,” he stated.

Asked whether the Federal Government had removed the VAT on cooking gas imports, Umudu replied, “It (government) has not been enforcing the tax and has remained silent about it, but has not said anything about removing it. This also has helped in price reduction.”

Last month, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, said the NNPC was increasing the supply of the LPG in a bid to force down its price.

Kyari said, “Two things are in play. One is the supply in the international market of gas. It moves with the price of every other petroleum product including crude oil and its derivatives.

“So definitely, it is a reflection of what is happening in the international market. However, what we are doing is to increase supply and once supply increases, price will come down.”

Nairaland GeneralNorth The Headquarters Of Hypocrisy, The Bitter Truth About Islam by cassidyjosh(op): 5:10am On Jan 03, 2022
Nigeria since it's inception has had North with the largest territories and this has translated in every aspect of the lives of northerners, in terms of poverty the North is worst, street begging, insecurity, bad leadership, homosexuals, lesbian and all other act of immorality I say this with confidence because I am a northerner and I was born and lived all my life in the north. Among the many things I have seen in the north I will mention the ones that I find pathetic.

RELIGION
Religion for a typical northerner comes first before national interest or any other thing. The predominant religion among the Hausa's in the north is islam, you dare not mess with thier religion they can kill and kill for the sake of it as instructed in their holy books. A Muslim in the north will frown at any act of public display of affection and will want to kill any individual that participate in it yet they engage in numerous act of immorality, the hypocrisy is just too much and they reek of it. A Muslim will go and buy alcohol and drink to his/her satisfaction and then come out to where it is sold and start shouting Haram! Haram!!, Sleep with prostitutes and later come to arrest them for moral decay and religious intolerance while shouting Zinna! In fact there was a time we caught the imam of a mosque during early morning prayer or sallah as they call it, he was seriously banging a boy that fetches water for the ablution with all his might, if he wasn't caught he would finish and lead prayers. In Kano they set up a unit of islam police which they call Hisbah; their duty is to see that all of Islam's law are observed they even go as far as enforcing it on none Muslims who reside in the state, when you see them you don't need to be told that they are drunks but yet they will arrest anyone they find drinking, they will sleep with prostitutes and later go after them again. Haba mallam the hypocrisy is just too much. The Islamic laws are made to be observed by the poor and not for the elite .

POLITICS
A typical northerner Muslim feels he born to rule and been in power is his birth right these notions are enshrined in their Quran as they are been admonished to go to every tribe and conquer by fire by force. They are to also to support any northern Muslim in power regardless of his performance or what he lacks in leadership as long as he is from the north and bears a black mark on his forehead. The north has largely contributed to the retrogressive state of Nigeria permit me to say it the cause of our problems. The north as produced many leaders right from the time of tafabalewa and only but a spec have put aside religious sentiments and charted the course for progress. The mentality of it must be a Muslim first has caused lost of lives even among northerners, the northern style of politics is nothing to write home about as they have consistently voted clueless people on the bases of religion over competence.

INSECURITY
The north will forever be the reason for the numerous security challenge bedevilling the country currently, it should be no surprise as why current security situation is this horrible. We continue to wonder and ask questions why while the answers are right in front of us and it is ISLAM! yes Islam, the founder of islam prophet MohamMAD and those after him have prescribed a system for becoming an apostle of Allah one has to go through a rigorous process that robbs you of all your humanity this process is called the Almajiri system and it is only applicable to the poor Muslim and not the rich, a child at an early age of 2 years is required to leave his parents and go and live with a mallam who continually inflict pain and untold hardship on the child, the child is straved, beaten and forced to do hard labour; sometimes these mallam sexually abuse these children in the guise of training them, they are continually subjected to abuse and made to believe that the government doesn't care about them, their families don't care about them. They are made to understand that Allah does not care about them as they are his slaves and he can do what pleases him as long as it is in accordance with the will of the mallam. This experience forms a mindset inside the child and within a period of 10, 15 and 20 years a hard youth who has no remorse is finally born" these ones can go to any extent and do anything just to survive, it is no wonder how Islamic terrorists group gets their recruits from as provision has already been made by the Almajiri system. What do you think happened to all the almajiris starting from 1999 till date whare are they ? Did they evaporate? No they are all grown up now and some are chilling in the bush with new Ak47 provided for them by the same people that created them, while others are political thugs etc. Let me pen down here before they label me religious bigot but it is the truth and it is a hard bitter pill to swallow. Islam is not only Nigeria's problem but the world all-over.

Nairaland GeneralThe Challenges Of An Average Nigerian Police Officer by cassidyjosh(op): 8:00pm On Dec 05, 2021
The Nigerian Police force is one of the largest in Africa and probably in the world too with over 30,000 plus personnels across the country. It is not news that police officer are perceived with a stereotypical knowledge of how they behave hence they are branded as corrupt, wicked, heartless and vindictive individual who are illiterates or half educated" I can't say I completely agree or disagree with such beliefs but the truth is we must accept that they are first Nigerians and ordinary people who now have powers and manifested their true nature just like any other human would. Be it good or bad it is just who they really are, among the many challenges besetting the Nigerian Police one that is imperative is poor welfare an average police officer is poorly paid, poorly equipped and is expected to deliver 100% his family is not cared for when he dies. The rising cost of living these days makes life hard for them, food price is on the increase and yet the government delays their poor salary they give them, it will shock you to know that the government makes deductions from their salaries. Since the time the government publicly announced that they have increased the police salaries; not a dime has been added to the old rate..... To be continued

Took a stroll along independence way Kaduna and I decided to pass through the police barracks and I was shocked to see the damaged condition of our police barracks and to think that men who swore oaths to serve their country will live in such a deplorable condition breaks my heart, I observed with disdain how broken sewers sprout out shit with open gutters, broken fences, ruptured roofings with a big pile of waste laid up right in the middle. My question is are funds not made available for the renovation of such places ? Is this how the FG treat police officer who are even the lowest paid in the country and yet they sacrifice their lives. What do you think? Police officers are humans too and they deserve better.
