A man caused a scene on Monday, January 15 in Maitama area of Abuja after he seen seen seated on a billboard advert with a rope tied round his neck. The man was also spotted with a poster of a presidential aspirant and 2019 boldly inscribed on his white native wear.

According to reports, the man allegedly planed to commit suicide as a show of support to the Presidential aspirant..

What I saw at Nicon junction in the Maitama axis of Abuja this Monday morning went a long way to remind me that here( Nigeria) is nothing but a drama theatre.

On my way to work today, we drove to Nicon junction, we met a young man seated on an advert galary above the ground with rope tied round his neck, a poster of a presidential aspirant stick on his cloth and 2019 boldly inscribed on his white agbada (native wear). He wore a white shoes to match and a pair of eye glasses

People gathered, include force men since it's a traffic moment, almost all stopped over to understand what was happening. The young man through the help of some Nigerians was untied and helped to climb down from the galary!

According to popular opinion, He planed to commit suicide as a show of support to the Presidential aspirant!

Now, my questions are:
1) Where on this earth is threat to commit suicide a way of projecting opinion?
2) What has a presidential aspirant and 2019 to do with a young man attempting to take his own life?
3) When will Nigerian youths realize that these elderly really do not have our future in their agenda?
4) Those that trecked from Lagos to Abuja in 2015, can they still treck from Amac to Gwagalada for the same reason today?
5) Is this how we(the youths) will form leaders of tomorrow?

These and many other questions are demanding answers to. And as we are few months away from another decisive moment (general election), we can only do ourselves a favour by tactfully discharging our civic right of voting with your future in mind and not pocket for immediate gratification!

A gallant Nigerian soldier, Alfred Aondofa Alpha is filled with thanks to God for saving his life after stepping on improvised explosive device IED. According to the soldier this happened on January 1st during a clearance operation in the north east. The appreciative soldier didn't reveal how he managed to survive the IED after stepping on it as he thanked God for rescuing him.

The Senator-Elect for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Sir (Dr) Victor Umeh on Sunday handed over a new vehicle to the newly ordained priest, Rev Fr. Peter Ikeatuegwu. He also presented a cash gift to Rev. Monk Chukwuma Onyekaonwu, who did his final profession; both are indigenes of Aguluzigbo Community in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was declared the winner of the Anambra Central Senatorial re-run by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, after beating 13 other candidates..The election was held Saturday, January 13, 2018.

The abducted Taraba lawmaker Hosea Ibi has been found dead. The lifeless body of the lawmaker representing Takum I constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, was found on the road in Takum local government on Tuesday.

Hon. Ibi was kidnapped by unknown gunmen two weeks ago back in his hometown, Takum.

Ibi was kidnapped on Saturday, December 30th at about 10 pm in his hometown Takum was killed by his abductors after an undisclosed sum of money was paid as ransom for his release.

Following heightened tension between the Hausa community and youths of other tribes in Wadata area of Makurdi, Benue state, a peace meeting has been held between the youth representatives of Tiv, Hausas, Idoma, Agatu, Igbos and other tribes trying to restore peace back to the area.

On Saturday, January 13, there was a bloody clash between the Hausa community and some youths in the Wadata area of Makurdi, Benue state after a Fulani man was reportedly hit and killed by a vehicle.

Some youth were reportedly injured in the ensuing clash.

A 22-year-old lady, Bukola who was arrested for random theft has been released after spending one year in prison in Ilesa, Osun state. The young lady who reportedly had a baby inside the prison was arrested and remanded for stealing a dress. According to the president of Behind Bars initiative; Prince Gwamnishu Harrison, the lady has the habit of stealing things both valuable and non-valuable.

She was arrested by the police after she stole a dress and was caught wearing same dress. She was then charged to court and later convicted.

She just left prison yesterday after one year.

According to reports, she has been disowned by her parents as he her siblings don't want to see her.

She is currently in Delta state in the custody of a well meaning Nigerian.

It was confirmed by the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Delta Safe (ODS), on Friday that a militant leader in its custody, Oyawerikumor Peregbabofa, popularly known in the creeks of the Niger Delta as Karaowei, was later killed in an ambush at Bolu Ndoro forest in Bayelsa State.

The militant warlord who masterminded the kidnapping and murder of a British missionary, 56-year-old Ian Squire in Enekorogha, Delta state was arrested at the early hours of Thursday in Ogbobagbene.

It was gathered that gang members of the militant warlord ambushed the JTF operatives after his arrest and exchanged of gunfire which let the arrested gang leader to make an attempt to escape, he was shot and instantly killed by operatives of "Operation Delta Safe."

JTF claimed that Karowei who was arrested confessed to several criminal acts and led troops to his camp to recover the cache of arms and ammunition in his possession as well as to persuade other members of his gang to surrender.

Karowei and his gang were also responsible for several abductions/kidnappings, robberies and raping of innocent women in the region including unprovoked attacks on military locations in Delta and Bayelsa States.

Also on 7th January, 2018, Karowei and his gang attacked own troops at Bolu Ndoro forest which led to the death of four (4) Military OPDS personnel.

A man identified as Michael Nwankwo, was arrested by the Area Commander of the Shagamu police unit. It was gathered that Michael has been threatening his girlfriend, and threatening to snatch their 7 month old son from her. After his arrest, the suspect was later transferred from Shagamu to Lagos where the alleged crimes were committed.

According to human rights activist and lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye‎, even the family members of Michael joined in harassing this single mother.

Now, he is in police custody where we expect him to be charged with serious offenses relating to harassment, threats, and intimidation of his his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child..

There was panic after a Range Rover went up in flames at Iyana Iworo along Third Mainland bridge in Lagos. Other road users and passersby gathered in their numbers in order to put out the fire. According to reports, the car occupants made it out before the fire engulfed the vehicle.

Emergency agents later arrived at the scene to control the situation.
