Two planes carrying stranded Nigerians who were on their way to Europe - arrived Lagos state yesterday night. The first aircraft transported about 245 returnees while the second aircraft conveyed 142 passengers bringing the total number returned to 387...

Many of them reportedly revealed very sad and terrible tales of their plight. Some of them were in tears as they gave thanks to God for making it possible for them to come home alive. NCFRMI was actively involved, alongside other partners to receive the returnees.

Two delegates attracted attention to themselves after they were spotted engaging "in a special type of handshake" at the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) national convention held yesterday at the Eagle Square, Abuja. This is how I stumbled upon these beautiful gemstones during my walk this morning. My research showed that it's one of the most popular purple gem stones with spiritual and physical properties. It's called AMETHYST (The Intuitive Eye). It also claimed to have healing powers as well as power to give wealth to the one who wields it. Some of these claims I personally can't verify. But, I am sure happy God brought these stones my way. Definitely adding them to my collectibles .

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, December 5th, pardoned 500 inmates of the Kurmawa Central Prisons in Kano metropolis as part of federal government’s efforts to decongest prisons. Buhari granted the pardon when he arrived at the place in company with the state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and others.

The prisoners include males and females.

The president also gave the inmates N1000 to transport themselves to their respective homes, according to mulitple trending reports online.

The president advised the affected inmates to be of good behaviour and shun anything that could bring them back to prison.

A woman buried her 3-month old son alive after she allegedly met a wealthy man who pledged to marry her. According to reports gathered online, the woman buried her baby to conceal she had never been pregnant in order to get married to her rich suitor.

After investigation, the woman who was arrested - unearthed the corpse after the intervention of the paternal family.

The sad incident happened last Saturday in Agbavi area of Togo.

A Nigerian man, Daniel Usifoh, has shared photos of him and his wife using a tricycle popularly known as 'Keke' for their wedding five years ago. The man who took to Facebook to share the never-seen pictures - did so in order to celebrate his 5th wedding anniversary with his wife as he said they opted to use the Keke to make their wedding a memorable one.

The security officer and his DSS partner whose lovely pre-wedding photos went viral - have tied the knot in Abuja. Prince Ibrahim Haz Grandin, chief detail/chief security officer (CSO) to MD/CEO of TSTv Africa, wedded his sweetheart, Rifkatu Baba, another security officer with the Directorate of State Security Services (DSS).

The wedding which was held at Asokoro, Area 11, Abuja - saw friends and family thanking God for uniting the couple through the exchange of marital vow.

This is very unfortunate. According to reports, two babies were found after being dumped apparently by their mothers in Kebbi state. One of the babies was found after the JNI Office in Birnin Kebbi and the other was picked up in Bawada area of Gulumbe district in the state. One of the babies was rescued alive while the other was found dead in a polythene bag.

Reps Honour Disabled Ex Homeless Street Beggar turned Lawyer, Medical Student Record Breaker

The House of Representatives on Tuesday honoured Mr Abdulsalam Kamaldeen Idowu, a disabled and former homeless street beggar for sponsoring himself through school to become a lawyer and political science graduate and Miss Aarinola Olaiya of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for attaining exceptional record in her academic pursuit.

The decision followed the adoption of a motion sponsored by the House Leader, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila (Lagos-APC).

The House resolved to establish, by law, a Parliamentary Honours/Award System for recognition of extraordinary achievements by Nigerians.

Gbajabiamila while introducing the Honourees said that the motion was intended to reward excellence and encourage citizens who had elevated the ideals of the Nigerian society.

"When ordinary Nigerians do Extra ordinary things then they must be celebrated and all men and women of power and influence must rise and bow to them", he said . "Nigerians and the world celebrate Messi and Ronaldo everyday for the amazing things they are able to do with their legs and today we must celebrate Abdulsalam for the amazing things he has been able to do without his legs", the House Leader added.

According to him, Abdulsalam Idowu displayed resilience and hard work by studying political science and law from street begging and despite being homeless for years sleeping at Idumota Motor Park in Lagos.

“Idowu lost his two legs to polio at the age of three, lost his mother at the age of four, started primary school at eight and resorted to street begging to raise money to buy uniforms, books and to feed. “He begged for arms from primary through secondary school and was known on the streets of Lagos as a beggar.

“From street begging he bought GCE form in 2002, sat and passed the GCE and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam and was subsequently admitted to study political science at the University of Lagos. “As he was preparing to complete his first degree, he sat for the West African School Certificate Examination and JAMB.

“In his determination to become a lawyer, passed the exams studied law and was later admitted to Nigerian Law School in 2015 and was called to the Nigerian Bar on Nov. 30 2016,’’ Gbajabiamila said.

Gbajabiamila informed his colleagues that Master Ayodele Dada of Adisa Bashua Street, Surulere 1, federal constituency, Lagos who was similarly introduced to the House and the world in same manner on the 26th of March, 2016, for breaking the 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point at graduation in the University of Lagos just concluded his service at the Central Bank of Nigeria and preparing to further his studies abroad after receiving several job offers and do believe that Aarinola and Abdulsalam will soar higher as well.
