Earlier today, a boat carrying goods worth over 5 million from Cotonou in Benin Republic capsized at the Bonny Jetty in Rivers state. Report has it that the boat arrived Bonny Jetty at about 6pm yesterday, the manager of the Cotonou boat left his duty post to a beer palour to watch football match between Arsenal and Chelsea - leaving the goods inside with no order to unload the boat.

On getting to the Jetty this morning, goods worth over N5 million were seen afloat on the sea.

According to the special assistant on New Media at Bonny local government council, Christian Ezekiel-Hart, this is as a result of gross negligence of duty by the manager of the boat.

Troops of Nigerian Army on internal security operations deployed at Akwanga highway Nasarawa State, yesterday Wednesday 10th January 2018, arrested a suspected gun runner, Mohammed Bello, in an Opel Vectra Saloon Car with the fabricated guns heading to Saminaka to link up with his gang leader Damina Saminaka.

During preliminary interrogation the suspect claimed to purchase the weapons for Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000.00k), from a blacksmith gun fabricator named Dan Asabe Audu, who reside at Angbo Village, Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Determined to get to the root of the matter, the troops further went to the village where they found out that indeed Dan Asabe Audu has been in the business of illegal arms manufacturing for criminals for quite sometime. They found a complete arms factory with equipment and the products at various stages of production.

Specifically, the troops recovered 3 completely locally fabricated guns, 20 locally fabricated guns at various stages of production, 7 units of 9mm empty cases, one 9mm blank ammunition, 2 drilling machine, 1 power generating set and 3 mobile telephone handsets. The suspects would soon be handed over to the relevant security agency for further investigation and prosecution.

Parents of this little baby suffering from a medical condition known as Hydrocephalus are lamenting after being unable to take care of their child medically due to financial restraints. The 50-day old baby girl identified as Rusaima was born in Dutse, Jigawa state capital with this disability...

Hydrocephalus (also called “water on the brain”) can make babies’ and young children’s heads swell to make room for the excess fluid. Older kids, whose skull bones have matured and fused together, have painful headaches from the increased pressure in the head.

A 16-year-old girl identified as Alero Eyesan has been left in pains after she was stabbed on her thigh by a guy who was said to be wooing her. The sad incident was said to have occurred in Delta state on the 31st of December, 2017.

The teenage girl was said to have denied advances from the guy who is popularly known as 'Osama'.

The suspect was said to have laid an ambush for her as he attacked and stabbed the innocent girl.

She was immediately rushed to central hospital where the doctors prescribed things to be bought for her treatment which they couldn't afford. .

According to reports, the doctor said the girl's chance to live is 50:50 because the wound has been infected and has reached her private part and if not attended to urgently she night not make it. .

The girl is said to be in tears because of the unbearable pain, while the guy who stabbed her is currently on the run.

A lady who suffered horrific burns after being involved in a gas explosion while baking a wedding cake - has shared photos to show her transformation months after the mishap. The beautiful law graduate of the University of Abuja, Fareedah Obadaki took her social media page to thank God for her survival as she penned the below words to mark her birthday yesterday.

Tell me there is no God,and I would show you my testimony.It's Almost 3months after the incidence that almost took my life.I had just written my final papers as an undergraduate of law,university of Abuja,and barely 2days after,I was involved in a gas explosions accident while baking a wedding cake.

I could have been dead and gone,or probably even still on my sick bed,but am alive today as a result of all the prayers I had received,indeed God is merciful.To every single blog who took time to involve in the #prayforfareedahobadaki am grateful beyond words.

It would have been a sad tale after a commercial bus crashed into a betting shop in Imo state on Wednesday, January 3rd. According to reports, the shop was locked due to the festive holiday as the speeding driver lost control of the bus and crashed into the betting shop - destroying everything in its part. A Nigerian man has pledged to stop eating cow meat in protest to the recent gruesome massacre by Fulani Herdsmen in Benue state. According to the man, there are many other sources of protein besides cow meat (beef) as he shared pictures of a grasscutter (known as Nchi in Igbo language) he caught - which was killed and shared by his squad. .

Below is what Oyinatumba shared on Facebook;

Throughout this season, I was offered cow meat and I refused. They asked me why, I start educating them on Fulani herdsmen murder. They see reasons with me and I feel fulfilled. Join the protest against cow meat. I shall continue this protest for one month.

Pork, bush rat, fish and local chicken are sweet source of protein! My Benue brothers and sisters, should organise to defend themselves, since APC government led by President Buhari has failed them.

A driver of a private car lost control and went off road into a ditch due to reckless driving along Kaduna / Zaria highway on the December 31, 2017.
